If you like 1990s and 1980s horror movies, you are absolutely going to love this place! The Haunted House gives a big nod to those movies and the cult culture that has grown up around him. It is a theme decorated restaurant, with plenty of kitsch and memorabilia all over the place. Such a fun location to gather with friends for a meal. And they do bill it as family, friendly - keep an eye on the young ones is all I would say. Staff are super friendly, and it's an easy to please menu. We visited The Haunted House Restaurant in Cleveland Heights on Black Friday and were pleasantly surprised to be seated right away around 5:30 PM without a reservation. The service throughout the meal was attentive. The atmosphere is the real draw. Six years in, the place still leans heavily on its spooky theme. While some of the décor feels like it's starting to show its age, if it's your first visit or you're there for a birthday, it still is cool.. There are "character actors" roaming around, not really trying to scare guests, more like friendly nuisances who blend into the theme. As for the food, think better-than-chain-bar-and-grill but 3 1/2 to 4 stars We ordered a version of Mexican street corn, a half-pound burger with crispy "out of the bag" fries, and some buffalo wings that were flavorful but pretty mild on heat. Everything was cooked well and tasted good--solid bar food. I opted for a bloody-themed mocktail that was fun, and my brother tried a couple of different drinks that he enjoyed. The bill for two people, 3 drinks, and one main course (no dessert) and 2 apps came in around $90 with tip--similar to what you'd spend at an Outback Steakhouse, so not cheap but not outrageous for a themed restaurant. Overall? I can't say I'd rush back, but I would recommend it as a fun alternative to the usual Outback, Applebee's, or BW3's. If you're going for the atmosphere and a different kind of night out, it's worth checking out at least once. Careful of the mandatory 18% tip on a party of two. My twin and I decided to go to the haunted house restaurant for brunch with our cousin to celebrate our birthday. We had a blast! The scarers were great and they danced to music to celebrate our birthday. That was hilarious! The scream character even put on the scary movie mask when I ask him to do the "Wassssuuuuuup." Iykyk. Some of the reviews almost scared me away, but our experience was nothing short of awesome. As soon as we opened the front door, Ghostface jump scared us before we even put our name in and we knew we were in for an evening of tricks & treats. The reservations were full, so we showed up right at opening and had no problems getting a spot at the full-service bar. Our bartender Marsharay was such a sweetheart and so helpful in helping us navigate our first time. We ordered a "Toy Story" drink to share and it was as magical as it was delicious. My husband ordered "The Shining" Burger and said it tasted great and was cooked perfectly. I ended up ordering Brinner and had the "Twilight Waffles" because I have a weakness for chicken & waffles. The sweet heat on the chicken was exactly what I wanted and so, so good. The pricing was perfect for the experience, and we were visited by several familiar faces including Michael Myers and a Killer Clown. Lots of friendly frights to be had & several birthday celebrations were happening during our visit. Horror movies played on all the screens & this is a must visit for any horror fan. I had heard that this place was super busy, so I visited their website and made a next day reservation (in the fall months, next day would probably not have been possible). On the confirmation email, it listed "free birthday entree " under offers available. I love anything themed so when we heard there was a restaurant themed after horror we were pumped. My friends and I are horror movie junkies and we were delighted to see that the theming exceeded all expectations. They have the covered in "blood stains" and have multiple artwork and statues of different characters from the movies. I enjoyed the TV's that they have around the restaurant each playing different horror movies. It was someone's birthday while we were visiting and the waitresses were celebrating by dressing up and playing the music from The Purge The food is very fun compared to your typical restaurant. We went during brunch so they had their breakfast menu out. I tried their Cinnamon Toast Crunch waffle. I enjoyed it but it was very sweet. It felt more like a dessert than breakfast. I highly recommend the drinks. My husband and I shared one of the bowls. We got the Mist and loved it. It comes with candy and dry ice so it's a lot. It also had a lot of sugar in it so I was on a sugar high by the end of the meal. The only downside of the restaurant is it's very expensive. The bowl was $35 dollars but we tried to justify it because we split it. This is more of a treat yourself places and not a frequent place to stop. read more

Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. Our waiter had many recommendations for our first time from drinks, appetizers to dinner menus! I ordered a beetlejuice drink which was a two toned flavor pina colada. Was very yummy! I got the lurch burger and was very delicious. The only thing i didn't like was the arugula. That mixed with the garlic sauce made it soggy so i just peeled it off. The flavor from the garlic sauce was great with the soft brioche bun! My husband also got a burger which he left nothing behind. Several different "characters " made their way around the dinning area making stops at different tables interacting with the guests in various funny ways. Someone received a happy birthday song. Which here, they sound off an alarm and play a clip from the purge movie. People came out with blinking strobe/flashlights and went to the birthday tables where they played "Party like its your birthday " however they bleeped out the word "sex" in the song clip so it sounds very weird. Like is this not a grown up bar? That part was a little odd for a gore-y restaurant. In one of the other reviews i saw some people got a drawing made of them im not sure if that was an event but i wouldve loved for that to be something we couldve done! They also had a bunch of shirts but it seemed like a lot of our sizes were gone. Definitely made for a fun date night. The decor is awesome here! The staff dressing up is completely great. We sat down and Michael myers greeted us lol. Our server was friendly recommended some things and the food we did order was yummmmy the drinks were big but lacky Alcohol they taste more of pop . We went on a Thursday in July so it's not their peak season and wasn't crazy busy. It was my birthday so my server was another came out and they played a song and dance for us which was really cool. Iloved that I could here someone in the back telling the cooks what a great job they did that day and the other staff to. We made reservations which is recommended otherwise you'll be eating at the bar. The atmosphere was dark and had lots of props from your favorite horror films and lots of TVs playing different horror films on each one, kinda like when you go to a sports bar. If going for a birthday occasion it's a totally different experience from the normal cheesy happy birthday singing....I'll leave that one as a surprise. Food was good. The experience at this restaurant was amazing. The characters are super interactive and we had a blast getting jump scared here and there. The service could have been a bit more friendly, they weren't very accommodating to changing anything about your meal and kind of ho-hummed when asked to substitute. This place was fun! I had a reservation for brunch, and would definitely recommend making one. The decor was definitely 10/10, with lots of characters and themes from a variety of movies and shows! There were two characters walking around and interacting with guest, one was a nun (from The Conjuring?) and Michael Myers. We were given popcorn as a side to munch on while we waited for our food. There were lots of tvs around with different shows on. The nun was creepy and took pictures with us. The food options had creative names and looked cool, but I wouldn't say that it was anything over the top. Wow I was all set to give this 3/4 stars. Then I see the "Billy the doll" from saw riding around on his bicycle. I took a video and then he proceeds to lift up to look under the "doll from exorcisms dress/night gown." All the little boys seen at another table and go no that's wrong. Really? That dude is a golden employee in my opinion! The haunted drink did have dry ice but it was worth it. I loved it! The lamb chops were great! The chicken pasta was a lil bland in my opinion, the chucky appetizer was ok I would go with the small portion nothing too great. All in all man I LOVED this place. But the staff should be on point. We found this place on accident, we were traveling to Dayton and stopped at the near by the Rock and Roll Hall of Hame, and found this place. The Nashville Massacre appetizers were an amazing starter. However I was disappointed in the Scooby Snacks, they were somewhat bland and did not match the menu description. The atmosphere to this place is find and exciting. The prices are reasonable, High recommend this place if you are a Halloween/Horror Fan. We would go back when we are passing thru Cleveland. My friends wanted to dine here for girls weekend. It's a different concept and a great experience. Young kids seemed to like the creepy ambiance of the place. There are guys walking around in freaky costumes. They sometimes scare the patrons but it's all in good fun. They will gladly pose for pictures. The drinks are pricey but they are different and the $35 one my friend purchased was neat to watch when it was served. All of my friends seemed to like their food. Everything was full of flavor. I didn't like my shrimp, it didn't seam like they weren't cooked enough but they weren't bland. My friend ate them all for me. The batter on the cauliflower was crunchy and seasoned perfectly. If the batter was on wings (they didn't serve), they would be perfect. I think after my first visit, I would say, it would be a place I would take someone for the experience. There were a few birthdays being celebrated that night and the DJ did get the crowd involved. The kids seemed to enjoy it and some people dressed up. these guys get theme-ing right! We hadn't been in the place for more than 30 seconds before a dressed up Pennywise approached and played his part very well. Within about 4 1/2 minutes he was offering beer selections, and suggestions from behind his mask. All of the servers were dressed up and the menu was themed beautifully! I don't write reviews unless something is done right and I have to tell you that these guys really did everything right I got a burger and it really was of utmost quality. It was such a good time to come to this place, and by the time we left, Pennywise had changed costumes into Michael Jackson's wolf character from thriller. If you like horror movies, good theming fandom and great food, it really doesn't get any better than this and anytime someone puts their heart into something the way the owners have in the Haunted House restaurant then it deserves to be applauded. We were told that the characters don't do "jump scares" but they do. We ordered 2 appetizers to share. They came out but we didn't have plates. We had to ask our waitress twice for plates while our appetizers got cold. Our entrees came out soon afterwards. Many people got burgers and most were not cooked as ordered. The hamburger patty tasted and smelled like it was cheap frozen beef. The patty was very small. I ordered the ghostbusters drink which was mostly whipped cream. This was well-worth the trip! The majority of staff including our waitress were incredibly friendly and considerate. The manager that was there at the time was very involved and kind. I absolutely loved the Lurch Burger - one of the best burgers I can recall having, especially after a long day of walking and touring Cleveland - and the fries were a pleasant surprise. My son's final verdict of the chicken strips was a "6.0" and the fries a "7.95". The birthday announcement was very fun, as were the encounters with a few spooky characters. The atmosphere was lively while family friendly (for the more adventurous, scary-movie intrigued child). While I personally would have appreciated some more insight into horror movie culture (facts, relics, etc) this was undoubtedly worth the stop. LOVED the free parking in the back. First off, the waitstaff is awesome!! Rich was great, and everyone works hard. The ambiance is rowdy. It's loud and crazy and kitschy which is kinda fun. It's fine for kids. There are people dressed in costume walking around (Pennywise, Myers, etc.), but they're mild. If you're looking for a nice, quiet dinner, this is not it. The food is meh; I compare it to Chili's. The menu is pretty small and limited, too. Our alcoholic beverages weren't anything special. The guy dressed as Michael Myers was super annoying by constantly trying to get people to follow him on socials. Overall, I'd say this is a one-and-done kind of place. It's cool to experience and to embarrass someone on their birthday, but that's about it. We probably won't go back. read more

They charged me 200.00, for 6 people to eat basically hamburgers and have a few pop-like drinks. They also auto charged me 33.00 for having six people, of which were two 8-year olds, myself, my sons mom, his older brother and wife. They charged me 20.00 for two kids blood bags, which consisted of kool-aid in an IV bag. I wont go back unless I hit the lottery or someone else is footing the bill. read more
