The Habersham needs to decide what it wants to be. The place is beautiful and the area needs a good restaurant that you can count on for good food and a repeatable experience. It is a beautiful restaurant and you expect an elegant meal. Out front there are beautiful gardens. We would love to be able to have a drink and appetizer on the lawn or in the gazebo while we wait for a table. However, they are trying to serve dinner out there which looked like a challenge for their wait staff. When we did get a table inside, the noise was unbelievable (the acoutiscs are terrible!!!) and the atmosphere was a sports bar. NOT what we expected or were looking for. The food was average and the wait staff didn't know the basics of serving people. They had an appetizer of crab claws - could not get any crab out of the ridiculously small claw tips!! Swordfish was fresh, but very plain. Really disappointed. Beautiful place but needs management that need knows what they are doing and what they want to be. read more

The front desk lady is super rude and for the amount of people that were in there for a Saturday she should have a better attitude. Made a reservation to be told that when we get there they don't do them... I said to the girl that we should have been notified that when we called a week before. #2 the owner Jay is attentive and respected the complaint. Sat out party ASAP ! Totally respected that. #3 ordered the chicken and waffles SPECIAL the waffles were hard as a rock! Took them back and the second ones were the same.!! Told the owner he took it off the tab! I do however recommend the French onion soup, the lobster Mac and cheese and the wraps ! Our waiter Zach was awesome!!! Other than that I don't believe we will be back it's a shame. My fiancé and I went there for dinner and ordered soup and a couple of sandwiches. The soup came out and was pretty good, but almost 40min later and still no sandwiches. We asked the waitress and she seemed surprised we didn't get our food and went looking for it. The cook then came out along with the manager and was looking around on tables as if the food had been delivered to the wrong table and they would be able to find it and then serve it to us? The manager looked at us blankly and simply unapologetically and said " I guess we lost your food". We said we would just leave at that point and he said "okay". It wasn't the fact that it took so long, because things do happen in the restaurant business, but he simply just failed to offer any customer service-- just a mere "okay" and let us walk out. The food was very good. The service was lacking! Sekar was our server and was less than impressed with us. He was constantly reaching over us, ignoring our table or talking to us while his back was actually turned. We decided to pass on dessert because he was taking too long. read more

Service was incredibly slow and we waited 45 minutes for food after we ordered when the restaurant was reasonably quiet at 1:45pm. I will say we were a party of six and all the food was very good. The grilled veggie portobello sandwich was very good. We all enjoyed our meals but slow service and waiting forever wrecked our experience. Wine was a little expensive too. $12 a glass for Rodney Strong Chardonnay. That's a little much. They should think about serving local Chardonnay. read more

Stopped into the Haversham for a Tuesday night dinner, and enjoyed a lovely meal. There were a handful of folks at the bar, and 6 or 7 other tables full of guests. The chicken wings were delicious. Ordered buffalo and sweet chili and they were outstanding. My father ordered the daily special mushroom soup and it was outstanding. Delicious fresh mushroom flavor. For and entree, I ordered the sirloin tips in bourbon glaze, and they were cooked perfectly to the correct temperature. Tender and delicious medium-rare. The broccoli was fresh and steamed just right. The twice baked potato was pretty good, but could have used a little more garlic or Parmesan. My pops ordered the Shroom burger and he said he was in heaven. It disappeared from his plate before I even saw him take a bite! Overall, I was very happy with this place. A group of us went to the Haversham to watch our Alma Mater's opening football game (GoCocks!) and had a wonderful time.....that is until we were out the door. The food was good, the beer was cold, and USC kicked some Tarheel butt. Most of us work in the food service industry, so we felt a bit shameful when we gave our server, Vinny, a mix of cards with different amounts (that we explained on the back of the receipt) and cash. He did a great job all throughout our stay, recommending beers for the group and putting up with our shenanigans. We were very appreciative of his service and left him better-than-average tips. As we were unlocking our cars, we runs out after us and yells "Thanks for the nice tips!" We said, "You're welcome," to which he replied, "No, I was being sarcastic. You didn't leave me anything." Turns out, he forgot to check the credit card slips to see that we had, in fact, tipped him. I understand that everyone makes mistakes, but I did not appreciate being harassed in the parking lot. One, he should have checked his slips before coming to find us. Two, he should have handled that situation in a far less aggressive manner. Next time, find a manager and have them approach us respectfully. read more

Very disappointed in Manager's (Mike) response to bad experience on 9/22/19. I had a fabulous meal (linguini with clams) here the night before (9/21/19). I enjoyed it so much, I went back the next night for the same meal. The cream sauce I received the first night was not there the second night. I asked the waiter (Brian - who was GREAT) to take it back and ask the chef to modify the sauce to make it the same cream sauce I received the night before. The meal returned and when I began to eat it I realized the cilantro ingredient, which really made the meal special and was clearly on the menu, was missing. I again asked the waiter to bring it back to have the chef add the cilantro. I then asked to speak to the manager (Mike) and explained what was going on. He admitted the dish should have been consistent and should have had the cilantro, but made no attempt to compensate me for this situation of having to send my meal back twice for modifications to their advertised menu item. His lack of judgement caused me to write this unfavorable review. If he had made some type of gesture to reduce my bill, I would not have written this review. Also, the kitchen obviously needs to standardize their meals to what is stated on their menu. read more

Pretty place. You'd expect to have a quiet, relaxing,romantic dinner and sometimes you can but other times management puts the TV on in the dining room and spoils all that. The bar area has TV's and it's noisy. They need to decide if they want to be a bar or fine restaurant. This isn't working. Waitress in the past have been very good but when we went there a month ago the waiter was rude and brought out the same, wrong plate of food to me twice. My husband was done eating when I got my dinner. We are regular local customers but haven't been back since. read more

Party of 9 on a Wednesday night in July is clearly way too many for the staff at this restaurant. Our yearly family dinner was sadly a huge disappointment. Service was painfully slow ( 1 hour and 15 minutes from time of arrival to get our entrees ) and at times condescending. Seems like a management issue. In the Westerly area, this is always a favorite. The restaurant is well laid out and always managed well, you may have to wait for a table but they have adequate space. The service could be better at times. The burgers here are some of my favorites, they just have that extra special flavor to them. Highly recommend if you are in the area! read more

Wanted to watch the football game on a Sunday night so we sat in tavern area of restaurant. Good beer selection. House wine was good and very inexpensive. Broiled fish was excellent quality and piping hot. Sides were well prepared and tasty. Add in good pricing and a $5 coupon on back of Stop and Shop receipt and Haversham is a winner. We went to the tavern on Saturday night to eat and watch the Patriots preseason game. We waited 30 minutes for a table and then 40 minutes to be served dinner. That would have been okay had we been able to watch the Pats. But not one of the 10 televisions had the Pats game. Turns out their Direct TV could not get the local station. My husband and I recently moved to westerly. We love trying new restaurants. We have been to the haversham 3 times. Usually. 3 times is a charm. Unfortunately not this time around :( as the food is always delicious and the first two visits the service was excellent, this time the service was sad. Jessica was our waitress. She made us feel like she wanted to "be anywhere but here" she lacked personality. There were no formal greetings, no thank you for coming, it was just blah! Too bad they don't wear name tags because the other waitress is awesome. She's a short brunette girl. The chef does dish out great tasting food. I had a wedding reception here and it was wonderful. They were extremely flexible and accommodating. I felt like I was treated like the most important person in the world which is a nice feeling once in a while. The website pics really do not do it justice as the grounds are beautiful. I really feel that for the I could not have gone anywhere else and gotten the service and quality I received for the price I paid. I don't usually trust reviews when there isn't anything said that is negative.....but honestly, I just can't come up with any negatives. Recently I had two weeks to plan a surprise birthday party and I called on Erica, the Events Coordinator at The Haversham. On 3/2/14 the party took place and it was a huge success. I have never written a review before but really feel the need to give praise where praise is due. I attended a wedding reception at the Haversham last weekend and I was really VERY impressed and I have attended many weddings over the years at other venues. First, I want to say that the grounds are beautiful and the reception room was absolutely stunning. The food was excellent. Every little detail was perfect. I had the pleasure of meeting the coordinator of the wedding, as I am now interested in having my daughter's wedding here and she was delightful. Her name is Erica and she took the time out of her busy day to talk to us. Also, I can't say enough about the staff. They were friendly and professional. Our server, Tara, went out of her way to accommodate us, always with a smile. She was a delight. All of you at Haversham deserve praise for a job well done!!!! read more

I have been to The Haversham a handful of times. The service is never good, but the food is always ok. Today the service was terrible and the food was also terrible. To start, one of our appetizer plates had been used before. Not dirty from the dishwasher. It looked like it had been used just moments before. It then took two hours for a couple of sandwiches and a salad. My salad was a slab of cold chicken with mushy pecans on top of some lettuce. This visit was such a waste of time and money. Not to mention we left hungry. We will never be back. read more

Ate dinner here last night and I admit I was shocked it was so busy on a Monday night, but you know what? They pulled it off. Sure it took a bit longer for our food, but they were short staffed. This happens...people get sick/call in at the last minute.
