I ordered the pretzel appetizer and was told it was unavailable. I then asked about the potstickers and was informed those were out as well, so we ended up skipping appetizers altogether. After dinner, I wanted to order the butter cake for dessert, only to be told that was unavailable too. If this had been Mother's Day weekend, Valentine's Day, or another especially busy occasion, I could understand running out of multiple menu items. However, this was a Monday evening at approximately 6:45 p.m. Being out of several popular items so early in dinner service suggests a serious inventory and preparation issue. Unfortunately, the kitchen and management team's inability to properly prepare for service put the front-of-house staff in a difficult position. The server was professional, apologetic, and provided good service throughout the meal. My frustration is not with her, but with the operational failures behind the scenes that repeatedly forced her to deliver disappointing news. Management should recognize how these shortcomings affect both the guest experience and the staff who have to represent the restaurant. Not sure if it was an off night - but, the hype about this place is way overblown. The food was ok, the service spotty (which was surprising given the number of employees about) and the prices seemed a tad high. The worst part of the evening was the fact that the decibel level in the restaurant prevented the the usual chatter amongst dinner guests at the table. Will likely not be going back. Have not been to this new location of "The Henry", but tonight we decided to give happy hour a chance, we were lucky enough to get a seat at the bar. Very lovely atmosphere. My husband was not thrilled with his happy hour food choice. They were very receptive to getting him something different. We declined, but the manager came over and made sure we were taken care of and made sure she heard our concern with the food choice. We were given another option and we were happy with that item. Seems like they are truly concerned if there's any remarks and are willing to make it right for the Customer . Overall, 4 out of 5 stars. Nice to see this restaurant in North scottsdale. read more

I have been to The Henry several times and have had the necessary interactions there to write this review. Most recently, my husband and I went to lunch on Saturday at around 1:30 to celebrate his birthday. It was a chaotic and unfriendly situation from the beginning. As I approached the hostess she let me know that the wait time would be 25 minutes. I let her know that I had a reservation and she dismissed me to go stand in the entry way. She eventually came to get us and led us to a 4 top in the middle of an aisle. I asked instead for an empty booth nearby. She explained that we could not sit there and led us to the back room where there was a booth available. There were actually 2 booths available but she refused to put us in the better of the booths. Instead, she wanted for us to go to a same size booth right next to the service station. It was laughable by this point and we left. The hostess was young and wearing what seemed to be a bridesmaid gown. We felt that ageism was in play on her part. I don't make that accusation lightly but not the first time I have been treated like that there. Colin has always been kind and I wished he had been there. Not sure that I will go back. read more

Food is great, service is impeccable but the ambiance took a huge hit when they opened the outdoor bar and the all the humidity came in from the misters and fans. From cool and cozy to being on the Eastern Coast in July. Humid as F! No bueno. I gave a pretty poor review a could of weeks ago. The manger was very nice and reached out to me which was awesome. We came back and brought a cousin with us and everything went perfectly. Sea bass and short ribs were the best I've had and had very good service. Had a reservation for 7:30 and we were sat at exactly 7:30. I'm glad we came back to try again and thank you for reaching out to me! Again in a city where there are so many options this matters. This location is a great example of why mid-managed 'chains' flounder. Tried this for the first time in June 26 and it was severely disappointing compared to their Mid-Town PHX location, and I was actually shocked. I sat at the bar, about 25 minutes before the bar tender acknowledged me, poured a drink, and delivered it. While I was waiting, there was a plethora of staff behind the main bar. Many of them young and obviously new, with little training - began talking sh*** about current guests in the restaurant. To quote what I heard, "an elderly man couldn't decide what he wanted to order..." then they noticed I was watching. They stopped and dispersed. Extremely unprofessional. I then asked the bartender, who also didn't seem like she knew what she was doing to ask to speak to a manager (which I never do). It was that bad. The kitchen manager cam out and agreed my 'WAGU Beef burger' cooked over well-done was don't in-fact medium rare like I requested. I said, "yeah, I know this is terrible for a $25 hamburger, my sister has her degree in food and beverage, with licensing in food safety and this is not right." Or something along those lines. Instead of making anything right, he took the food (at this point I just wanted to leave) and comped one drink, I still had to pay for my second beer. LOL. Which I only ordered trying to give them the benefit of the doubt.. this location needs some serious retaining if corporate is serious about maintaining their brand. Beautiful restaurant, but the noise level was off the charts. My friend and I literally had to scream at one another to converse. Our server had to kneel down and scream to communicate. We had a reservation, but when we arrived the staff basically ignored us because they were staring at their iPad devices. They should have at least made eye contact and told us they'd be with us shortly. Food was ok, but not sure I'll be back until it's cool enough to sit on the patio. The noise level is unreal. We came for happy hour on a Tuesday and sat in the lounge area. Happy Hour is only avail in the bar and lounge area. No reservations avail for these areas so come early! This is a popular spot so we arrived about 3:15 PM and got one of the few remaining tables. Server was lovely and attentive. Two of us had the Happy Hour Cheeseburger ($15) and it was very good but we both felt it was a wee bit pricey as it came with no side (ie fries). Other friend had the HH Potstickers and while they had good flavor she found the sauce a bit salty. Two glasses of wine (Rose and Pinot) were ordered and for happy hour pricing we were pleased with the quality. Would we return? Yes we would. One important thing to know (and is mentioned in many reviews) it is a LOUD environment. I'm guessing the ceiling construction is impacting the acoustics but holy heck.... It was really something! Perhaps the regular seating areas aren't as noisy. Would like to return for dinner. read more

This place just opened and we've tried to come a few times but the wait was too long. There was a wait today too but since we weren't in a rush, we decided to stay and wait. The iced tea was delightful. My tuna salad was super good with a decent amount of tuna. My grandpa loved his club sandwich. And we got a side of the truffle fries which were bomb. My only critiques were it was a little pricey and we did have to wait awhile for a food to come out, but they just opened so gotta give them grace. The ambiance was really nice too. read more

I had a reservation for two at 1:30. Arrived at 1:25 and told it would be a few minutes. After 20 minutes I inquired and had obviously been forgotten. We were shown a side table barely large enough for drinks in a hallway. I declined the small table and was shown to a booth. Once seated, we were taken care of nicely by the waitress. The food was great! It is unfortunate that the hostess stand was not as pleasant and did not offer an apology for forgetting us. read more

Was visiting from Las Vegas with few friends and saw this new restaurant opened and we have only heard good things about it so we decided to give it a try. Or server was Brandon and he was AMAZING. (Highly recommend requesting him if possible.) I was between a few items and Brandon recommended I try the jumbo crab cake and bolognese and wow it did not disappoint! We aren't big dessert girls but Brandon asked if we would like anything else and told us we wouldn't regret trying the butter cake. Let me just say that might have been the best rec of the night.
