HOUSTON'S @ SCOTTSDALE The Hawaiian rib eye was AMAZING, and this is as someone who usually never likes steak. The appetizer was the house smoked salmon and it was super super delicious to pair. The service was amazing for our birthday celebration when bringing out the apple crumble. It is a little more high end but perfect for a date night. Overall 5/5

This is now my staple when in Scottsdale. The atmosphere is great. Booths are very comfortable. The food taste and presentation is always great. Our waitress, Emma, was incredible. It seemed like she was always there when we needed something. I was impressed! The food is great, the staff is great the atmosphere is great mission accomplished!

One of my favorite restaurants in the Scottsdale area. I love coming here for intimate settings like a girls lunch or date night. I would say it's better for smaller groups and it's dark on the inside so have your flashlights ready for the menu! We came here for lunch. I always recommend their salads to anyone and for dinner I love the ribs! Julia was a wonderful server and was very attentive!

Amazing! It's a great place. Dim lighting but not too dark to see the menu. Gives a little fancier vibe. Dress to impress. They only allow reservations for smaller parties, I believe 4 is the max. The staff is extremely friendly and very attentive. Now the food, yummy! The ribeye is my absolute favorite and a huge portion as I always end up taking half home. My parents split the ribs and wow they literally licked the plate clean. Their fries are cooked in duck fat...so good! The cocktails never miss, if you don't see anything you want on the menu they will make whatever you're craving with a generous pour. This is not my first time here and won't be my last!

Waitress - gracious Ambiance - casual yet classy Food - good but didn't blow us away I ordered the salmon and a side of chicken, both were tasty and satisfying, I was happy with how my meal turned out. My husband got the pork chop. I think he liked the cabbage it came with more than the pork itself as he said the pork was very dry. Makes sense for how thick it was. The French Fries were MEH. The cheeseburger was ... Eh. The key lime pie was delicious! Not the worst food in the world by any means but definitely not a place we will frequent/make a regular staple in our dining out lives.

Houston's serves up some reliably solid food. For a chain, it's actually pretty good, and the ambiance has that comfortable, slightly-upscale neighborhood vibe--perfect for when you just want a good burger and fries without the fuss. We ordered the artichoke hearts, the fried chicken sandwich, and the ahi steak. The ahi came out perfectly rare, which was on point and honestly a pleasant surprise. We hadn't been here in nearly two decades, but a friend kept raving about their key lime pie, so of course we had to try it. It was... fine. Nothing life-changing. Service is exactly what you'd expect from a well-run spot like this--waters topped off regularly, servers checking in without hovering. Overall, a solid 4 out of 5 stars.

Yes please! Their artichokes are delicious, please try them

Houstons never let's us down! Its always a relaxing, delicious experience. I have to warn you though a reservation is recommended. They can get busy. And I don't like to wait. We love their appetizers. We usually have their fries, shrimp and artichokes if available. We had their Red Ruby trout. Grace our server recommended it and it was delicious. Excellent sauce and moist. The smaller shrimp that came with it was good also. It came with a crisp, very fresh coleslaw. Also perfectly seasoned. Grace thank you for excellent customer service! If I could give more than 5 stars I would.

We tried this place recently for dinner and had a great experience. The dimly lit dining room sets a nice, romantic ambiance. Our party of three sat comfortably at our table. We started with the chilled jumbo shrimp and French fries up front that came with 2 dipping sauces. My wife enjoyed her filet that came with broccoli and potatoes colcannon. I tried the Hawaiian ribeye and it came with a baked potato. The ribeye had great flavor and cooked perfectly. They don't have a kids menu which may not be the vibe they are going for, but my daughter loved the shrimp, so we made it work.

Houston's is a pretty solid restaurant with an old school vibe. The drinks are stiff, wine list is plentiful food is hearty and the service is fantastic! Really wish the had a better tv setup in the bar area tho... all in all, a good spot in Scottsdale.

Food was a miss but bar service was excellent! This restaurant has the vibe that you would expect from a classic steak restaurant with the booths and dark lighted atmosphere. Plus a long bar. On a Wednesday this restaurant was hopping at 5pm. The bar was full and they had a waitlist. The restaurant was full with people having an early dinner! At the other Houston's I've never experienced a wait list before! At first I was put off but as the bar crowd poured in around 530pm, I learned that this was a good idea to take the crowd! After waiting for about 15 minutes, we got a seat at the bar. Note while we were waiting, we were able to grab a drink at the side bar and relax. At the bar we had amazing service. The staff was very attentive! And they made sure to keep our martinis cold by refreshing our glasses. Even the water glasses were child! As for food: food was a miss tonight! We ordered a filet for about 62 dollars with a bake potato. We ordered our steak medium rare plus and came pretty raw. Even the bartender agreed it was not cooked properly. We sent the steak back, shortly later we were presented with our same steak. The steak was then slightly overcooked thus tough. Plus they "recooked " our potato thus the yummy skin was uneatable due to be overcooked. The restaurant should have provided us with a new potato. For inconvenience on the steak and it still not being cooked properly the restaurant should have compensated us in some manner. Based on tonight's experience and money spent, I would come for drinks and service only! Based on being frequent guest to their restaurants, we have found this to be the best option. Tip: don't expect an espresso martini at their restaurants, corporate does not allow for this drink. Tip: get the wedge with blue cheese dressing rather than thousand island. The blue cheese dressing is good.

From start to finish it was one of the most delightful meals we've enjoyed in Scottsdale. Our server Serenity (an ASU senior) did a wonderful job of serving us, checking on us but not hovering. Our meals of Hawaiian ribeye and trout were both outstanding. The foccacia and olives as an appetizer were delicious and the Merlot sublime.

No. It is beans, rice, oats, beets, onions and a great blend of spices.

Can they handle a party of 10?

They aren't not taking more then 4 people at the moment due to covid. And they may or may not be changing policy to only allow smaller parties. If you want a bigger group example, 8 people you'll be separated 4 by 4. So 4 at one table and 4 on a… Read more

The bartenders are amazing however we are sad our normal peeps have left. Tonight Sean KILLED it with us and so glad he was still there since first meeting him on Halloween. Honestly the reason for 4 stars is the fact the drunken wifey is gone and the 3% credit card fee. We have been coming here for a little over 5 years and never had to pay that. Wild change and slightly bs. You already charge a lot for food and drinks (increases over the years are noticeable with management changes) but when you always have a rather large bill usually $700-sometimes over $1000 depending on the kind of evening we're having it is going to be very noticeable. A change like that needs to be more obvious, minus a little print at the bottom of the menu. No one even noticed (since we really didn't need the menu to order) nor did our server. It truly makes me want to give you a three star but I can't discredit the hard working staff and people in the kitchen, as it is clearly the change of new management and the "rebuild" from the beginning of the year. It speaks volumes to a group that has been dedicated to the Americano since March of 2020 and now makes us wonder if it's time to move onto a different restaurant.

We were lucky enough that it happened to be restaurant week (1 appetizer, 1 entree, & 1 dessert for the price of $55!) My partner opted for the burrata paired with their noble bread, crispy salmon, & midnight brownie. Our favorites were their burrata & crispy salmon, with our not so favorites being the rest. The chopped salad was mediocre at best, nothing worth coming back for. The short ribs were overcooked, making it extremely dry. The blueberry pudding cake was incredibly dense and dry. The brownie was as hard as a rock, making it difficult to pick up a piece without breaking the plate while at it. Overall, my partner and I were quite disappointed with our meals. The only silver lining was that our server, Nicholas, was phenomenal!

For apps we got the lamb fondue which was super tender and unique. Dipping meet in cheese? Literally nothing better. Then we also got the green chili pork stew which is a MUST try! Not too spicy and full of flavor. Also, great for sharing as you fill it in the buttery tortillas. The filet was seriously one of the best I've ever had in Arizona. It has a nice shallot butter crust and it was cooked PERFECTLY medium rare. This was a highlight. The pork chop is huge and has a nice sweetness to it. The meat wasn't dry either...it pretty much tasted like the best bacon I've ever had LOL Everyone must get the green chili Mac n cheese. Not spicy at all just Smokey and tangy and full of cheese but shockingly not that heavy. The pecan pie was unreal. Gooey and sweet but the crust was still super flakey. The hostess asks what name the reservation was under and I tell her my complete name and she said she doesn't have it. I explained that I have a confirmation email and she waves her tablet at me about 4 feet away so I can't see the details and says "See! I don't have it." I replied, my friends are already here under the reservation so can I just go find them? She replied yes. I don't understand the interaction when my friends clearly checked in already using my name for the reservation. It was a discussion that wasn't necessary and did not give our first visit to the Roaring Fork a good impression. Once we found our friends after searching through the entire restaurant, we found them and sat down. We were immediately approached my our server who was very attentative and gave great service. We were told about a 3-course menu with multiple selections and I decided to get the New York Strip. I enjoyed my cesar salad and then the New York Strip was delivered. It was prepared according to my request, medium, and I checked by cutting right down the middle. I noticed it was a little tough to cut even with the steak knife I provided but the inside looked as expected so I continued on. What I was surprised to find was the amount of gristle on the New York Strip. There is nothing like having to pull food out of your mouth (several times) at a public place because you can't possible chew or consume it. For $80 (salad, New York Strip, sides and desert) I expected better. Unfortunately, my experience leads me to leave a 3 star review.

Ground level elegant, cozy bar and 2-top seating, main dining is downstairs and in addition to booths and tables, there's another bar. If I was shopping at Fashion Mall and wanted to stop in for Happy about libation and shareable bites to eat, would stay upstairs. They've got a lively happy hour program. The food and beverage program shines in a lot of ways. Cocktails are inventive and ai tried their riff on an Old Fashioned they call Fancy Cowboy Attire. It includes a peanut mole and cinnamon ... I was hesitant at first, but my knowledgeable server Izzy assured me it was really good. She was spot on. I loved it. There are some nice maki sushi appetizer offerings as well as some other shareable that evoke American and French influences. I ordered the oysters from the west coast US. Really fresh and served traditionally. Don't think you can go wrong with anything on the menu. For entree, went with the New Orleans/French. Inspired Salmon. Perfectly cooked and served with roasted potato, artichokes, arugula, and I think a béchamel sauce. Light and flavorful. Paired well with a nice 9 oz pour of French Sancerre. For dessert tried the schoolmate sticky toffee. Melts in your mouth. Dessert menu is fantastic. Had a hard time picking just one. Service felt a little rushed like we were taking too long with our 3 courses for 3 people. Crispy chicken potstickers were pretty good, w a great sauce for dipping. Ten vegetable salad was good but a little small if that was the regular menu size. Wagyu pigs in a blanket were my favorite thing. Short rib had good risotto but sauce was way too sweet. Chicken francese was our favorite entree. Good flavor w great sauce. Maine lobster roll wasn't that good. Didn't taste like much, like no seasoning and seemed to have something extra that didn't help. As a person from New England, this wouldn't hold up back East. Desserts were okay. Sticky toffee wasn't for me. Praline cake thing was alright. The tart was the best. I wouldn't call their martinis "world famous" as the restaurant does. My wife's dirty was almost crystal clear. Anyone who orders a dirty martini wants enough brine to make it cloudy, at least a little bit. This one was like it had no salt to it. Fancy Cowboy Attire is a horrible drink. Like diabetes sweet. I don't know how a rye whiskey drink could be this bad. It may be the worst $18 cocktail I've ever had. I had to chug it and hated it.
