After spending all day in town, me and my family were looking for a great place to eat... too bad we couldn't. They asked that we had an adult of age (we had 2 adults), despite us wanting to sit outside, away from the bar. We mentioned we had no intention to drink alcohol, however the lady at the front had an issue with that. We had a few beers here on the spacious patio that has a very nice misting system (plus, noticed a nice and artsy lava firepit featuring their logo for cooler temps. A decent rock/country/western band was playing that Saturday afternoon. Tableside bar service was excellent and the beers were served in nice-sized disposable cups (on the patio at least) at a very reasonable price ( we had a good Mexican beer). It reminded me of an kegger cup, which spark a few memories. The food here smells fabulous but we had already eaten upon our stop here. This is a very popular stop, as Cave Creek is in General, for bikers and other cool people. Some really cool original bikes you can check out (never, ever, ever touch biker's bikes [No matter where you are]) in the parking lot. It's a biker bar. I love Harleys so this was so cool for me too see so many works of art lined up bike after bike after bike. One word... Beautiful. I was star stuck, I had just been to the infamous Jackson Barrot car show and there were a few cool bikes but this was like a showroom of awesome for the price of a tasty beverage. At some point they announced, "if you are the owner of an orange Harley, it just fell over" the crowd gasped including myself. It's ok it didn't even look scratched. If you have a car and walk up they know so don't play they won't kill you unless you are a douche. They were really busy on labor day and short staffed, many people had to go to the bar to get drinks. One bartender (wish I knew her name) made the effort to come take our order and bring drinks which was really nice of her. My bf got the Philly cheese steak which was very good, i got the 2 fish tacos which were extremely bland with zero flavor. A patron next to us noticed my reaction and offered to get some salsa as he was actually an employee and not working that day, I was impressed with that bit sadly, even salsa couldn't help. Times are tough for all businesses but seem to be even more difficult for restaurants that have as big of a following as The Hideaway! They have a HUGE following and rightfully so, they seem to do everything right. They serve great food, cheap drinks, great looking apparel and all the staff treats you like family! No wonder why everyone wants to support them. I will say that yes, even with the "Social Distancing" order in place, people do seem to congregate outside near the wall. BUT, please tell me how and why this is the fault of the restaurant? They are doing everything they can in trying to keep their doors open, pay their bills and survive during this trying time. They are not doing anything different than any of the other local restaurants in the area. They do not allow you to stay on property (they now have fenced up blocking off the property), you cannot consume food or drinks on property, EVERYTHING is packaged to GO. They are not even letting people use their restrooms. If people are choosing to congregate off property, I don't see how that is of any fault of Hideaway. I am a huge fan of this place and I will continue to do my part and support the locals! Thanks for the AMAZING pizza, burger and fries we just ordered on Tuesday! This place is an awesome bar to hang out in. When I lived in Phoenix I could be found almost every weekend at the table under the tree at the front of the patio. The food is fantastic and is prepared to order, The burger is great, get it with grilled onion, cheese, and bacon. Or get the pizza, it's delicious. The staff is awesome as well. Mark, the owner, is a great guy and does everything he can to make sure his customers have a great time. Be aware that there is no car parking at the bar itself, it's bike parking only. But if you are arriving in a cage you would probably be more comfortable at the Hideaway Roadhouse just up the street. read more

Great food and service. On Saturday the 10th, I went to drop off the check on the counter at the bar which is like 3 feet away from where I was sitting. I forgot to put my mask on. Just when I went back to my seat, I got yelled at by this tall old man with blue bandanna and glasses for not wearing the mask. He was talking to me and I had no idea what he was saying. My boyfriend told him that I am deaf and that I didnt understand what he was saying. The old gezzer kept on talking to ME with eye contact and my face was blank with confusion. Some friends took us here on a Sunday ride. It was really busy and at first I was skeptical, but once we found a seat and got a drink... it was obvious why. This is a great bar! The people watching is top notch, the service is great, the live band was exceptional, when you're done with your drink you can walk around and see all the different motorcycles. Yes, it is a biker bar. And it is packed with them at certain times, especially weekends. I don't ride. But if you roll in on a weekday around noon you might not see any, and if everyone seems to know everyone it's because they are all friendly local folks. So if you're visiting Cave Creek don't assume the Hells Angels are there looking to kick ass Most of the "bikers" probably drive BMWs during the week. I stop in at least once a week for a bite. The food is the best bar food in Cave Creek and the service is awesome. I've been to every bar in town. Harold's , The Chip, Toad, etc. all are good, but The Hideaway is the best. The "weekend motorcyclists" stick out like a sore thumb because the place is packed with legitimate bikers and 1&'ers. The food is what it should be; old fashioned, American, put-a-smile-on-your-drunk-face good eatin,' Great beer, staff is just as legit and no nonsense. They'll take care of you but don't act like a rube. Overall, a throwback kind of place to a bygone era when the customer was only right if he didn't act like a stuck up shithead. Treat the place(staff and patrons) with respect and you just might make some friends. This is one of my haunts. I'm not complaining about the place but I am complaining about the "service" This chick did at least 12 shots behind the bar in front of me in the short time I was there. She didn't run me a tab but charged me what she decided was right. Then when I asked for my tab, it was wrong and I paid, I did say something and she argued with me about how much she hooks it up. Correct me if I'm wrong but is "hooking it up" really what it's about? The small crowd was hammered and behaving as they wished. I like this place. Went here for a burger this afternoon because a friend heard how good they were and absolutely they are the best! Just had a cheeseburger, the accoutrements come on the side; pickles, onions, tomatoes and add mustards/catsup. It comes sitting on top of the side of the best french fries I've had in a really long time. I will definitely be going back and suggest you give it a try as well. Heard the cook Justin is really good for tacos on Tuesday as well. Also heard Wednesday night is five dollar burgers so definitely will try that. I got to tell ya, not only does this place rock, but it's also a place where legends are seen. Came here tonight to meet with my best bud Jeff. Well, it wasn't the burger he crushed, or the amazing fries he ate, it was about when he was eating his 3rd meal, the Hideaway Pizza when he started attracting attention. After that, along with 4 cold ones, the crowd gathered. And they gathered for the right cause...because then they saw Jeff finish off his eating extravaganza with the 1/4 lb Big Dog and Chili Bowl! One biker even said because of his exemplary display of epic proportions, he could take his bike up E. Grapevine Rd for a joy ride. I couldn't believe it...Jeff took that hog out and back in record time!!! Nobody there could believe it! Not even me. But that's Jeff- a total stud and badass. But I digress, the staff here tops the charts. Service in my opinion sets the stage for a greatly managed place and it shows. The bartenders are very chill despite their no BS appearance. The drinks are super cheap for the area and the environment is fun even for the non biker. This is a WI-FI Review When at a restaurant, coffee shop or other business, I, like many other people these days want Internet access using my IPod or IPhone through a free WI-FI connection. The Hideaway does have WI-FI but it is locked and I was told that it is not available for the customers to use. I guess they think that bikers are not the type of customer that would want WI-FI. Guess again. On weekends I've seen many bikers at Harold's gazing at the screens of their IPods, IPhones and even Netbooks sloshing down beer after beer. The Hideaway owners are obviously living in the 1980's business world. 1 Star for The Hideaway on their WI-FI. We stopped in today while out furniture shopping in Cave Creek with our 7 year old son. The service was great and the bartender went out of her way to make us feel welcome, even giving our son a dollar and a sharpie to sign it and put up in the bar in a spot where it was sure to never be taken down.
