Attended a Baby shower here over the weekend and it was really cute! As you walk in you are greeted with huge cozy stairs and lots of stuff going on. Our baby shower was located on the bottom left part of the building. It was charming super cute and the food was pretty good. I'm not too sure if they helped with the decoration or if my friend did it all herself, They had white and red sangria served in bowls and a buffet area in the back. I think the staff helped with the service but you would have to find your own host. Overall I really enjoyed her baby shower and had an amazing time. read more

I was a member of a wedding party at Old Bermuda Inn. To begin with the cocktail hour was terrible ugly dark room where there were waiters walking around with food but extremely few and far between. Mashed potato station was so cheap and boring. When it was finally time for the bridal party to enter the main room the woman handling it was so very rude and annoying. Dinner was so bad that ALL of us at the table did not eat our dinners . I had some kind of chicken which I think was called chicken Somerset which I assumed would be similar to chicken franchase but turned out to be some bland , tough chicken dish. Terrible. read more

I walked out and booked the shower at Angelina's!!!! Where I was treated with great respect and appreciation. It was absolutely fabulous! Was invited to an event that took place here. From start to finish the service was very good. The waitstaff were attentive and friendly and did their best to accommodate us. There was no alcohol served so I can't comment on the drinks, but the food was pretty tasty. The event menu was limited, but I would definitely like to come back and try out the regular menu items. read more

I have been here several times and I am alway pleased with the ambiance and the wait staff. During the holiday season it's the best! The Christmas trees are lit up and the poinsettias really sets the mood for any soirée, birthday party, work event , fundraiser, etc. The food is not bad and there are a few options to choose from. I thought I posted this on St. Patrick's Day but here I go again what a delicious, delightful glorious day. It was to spend St. Patrick's Day at the Old Bermuda Inn. !! The food was delicious. The entertainment was so much fun there were games there was Irish coffee in the end with green whip cream. There were drinks with rainbow straws in them backdrops to take photo shots really they didn't leave anything out. Everything was fun just like St. Patrick's Day should be and the choices of food were amazing. We are definitely all going back next year, I think you should also! They played fun games which I had no idea if you won you got a free brunch gift certificate. It was stapled on a little cute green shopping bag filled with candy and goodies.!! I would give this place zero stars if I could. The service was terrible. The staff was rude and completely undertrained. The ambience was awful as well. The place smells like a Grandmother's living room. I thought the food may have been a redeeming factor until I found a long hair in my cold pasta. This time with our wives along for the ride came to The Old Bermuda Inn and did a Sunday brunch. There is a pre-fixed menu served buffet style that will cost $32.00 an adult. That includes a complimentary Bloody Mary or Mimosa. Also if you have a child, another $20. They have several different rooms available. Meeting everyone's needs including one in our party that is a vegetarian. The OBI is a catering hall that does weddings and holidays. Across the parking lot noticed a small B & B. That has four different suites for the wedding party perhaps. Many different stations for a weekend brunch including a create your own omelette. Plus a carving table. For me, those homemade mini pastries were very good. Actually went back for seconds. Our service was great. Letting the group of 7 catch up on all family matters. We certainly weren't rushed at all. My husband and I had our wedding here a few weeks ago, it couldn't have been more perfect. Mike was absolutely amazing. He went above and beyond to make sure we were happy. Mike's staff was fantastic. They catered to me and my husband all night long. They made sure we had water while taking pictures outside in the heat. My dress needed some pining, the girls saved me! They also made sure we took a breather and sat down and ate. The food was outstanding. Not one person told us they didn't like the food. The cocktail hour, guests said they didn't know where to start. The food just kept coming and it was all so good. The entrees were great. We chose the prime rib, chicken franchise and salmon. They gave my husband and I a little of each to try, all fabulous !!! The bartenders were awesome. Drinks were delicious. We haven't stopped talking about how happy we were. I was so disappointed. I want there for my cousins bridal shower and it was atrocious! For starters there were man n' cheese balls, mozzarella sticks, pizza bagels, and pigs in a blanket. The bathrooms were poorly kept together and had hard to shut doors which made me upset about my privacy! This is the worst place to host a party I have ever been too. I attended a baby shower yesterday for about 100 people. It started first with no valet parking had to park across the street. No handicap spaces either. The affair was a Buffett They ran out of food after calling the second table up. The carver had nothing to carve, only had one dish to serve. The host ordered veal cutlet parmigiana steak and salad and guess what it took them over 30 minutes to get more food. They had one waiter one server and I think a bartender who was never at the bar, I write reviews all the time and this place should be closed The hosts were so inbarrassed to say the least The only good thing was the 100 people will never book a party there. Do you remember when The Historic Old Bermuda Inn was just The Bermuda Inn? Neither do I. It's always been old. This place smells like a cheap hotel lobby with an indoor swimming pool. I don't understand why people are still having parties at this place. Is it because it only costs $32 / person instead of an average $75 at a decent place? Why don't you just have your guests meet at a McDonald's for Big Macs instead of a this wretched buffet? The food at their buffet and carving stations taste like 3-day old mush that they try to pass as shrimp, filet, or turkey. The mac and cheese tastes like one of their "chefs" chewed it and spit it out. And I have it on good authority that their desserts are store bought. In fact, they're popcorn machine doesn't work. The food was ok, the front staff did not follow COVID protocol, and for the cost the esthetics were BLAH! We were unloading our gifts and decorations and DRAGON WOMAN an older woman started screaming at us to move our car. We had waited for another car to unload and didn't complain. She was not only beyond RUDE, there are words such as excuse me, please, are you going to be long, all of these could have prefaced her request. I asked three different employees her name and they didn't know? REALLY!! What or WHO are they afraid of? I hope she or her family own the place because SHE doesn't understand the hospitality business. IN THE FUTURE I WILL RECOMMEND ALL TO AVOID THIS CATERING HALL. IT IS NOT WORTH IT. I had my Bridal Shower here yesterday and was very happy with the food, service and decor. The reason I give 4 stars is that the parking situation is a disaster! It seems that because there are simultaneous events happening at the venue, the guests are made to fend for themselves. I had guests who had driven from as far as Massachusetts and the last thing they wanted to hear was "just go up the street and you will figure it out". Horrible thing to say to a guest. When I was told of this, I immediately mentioned it to the person handling my event. He assured me he would go and speak to the individual handling the front of the venue. I had my daughter's bridal shower here. I would give it 3 1/2 stars. Not sure I know how to click on 1/2. The staff was excellent. Food was pretty good. No complaints. I heard the salmon was delicious from everyone. I think they were short-handed though. The waiters were hustling and seemed overworked/taking care of another party besides ours. Also, we had the room, upon entering to the right. It was very warm/hot in the room. Had to constantly ask to please put the ac on (lower temp.). Room was very nice, perfect and looked great with my decorations/centerpieces. I do have a suggestion. I paid for wine per person. They suggest/put a few bottles of wine on the side table. You can bring it to your table. I forgot to do this and/or tell my guests. I think they must count on this. I strongly recommend you have the red and white wine bottles set at your table. Hardly anyone gets up for it. We paid $$ and I think two bottles were used. I would definitely return here. We have in the past with other family members. read more

Let me start by saying because of COVID we had to move it a year and they were so accommodating with everything. Her party was nothing short of perfect. Had went to my second wedding the first one the main course was cold asked if they could microwave it thought maybe it was a fluke it happens. Sunday they forgot my whole table we didn't get our food until they rolled out the cake for the cutting ceremony I then and several other participants got thin over cooked leathery stake I just sent it back right away my wife took the salmon even though she ordered the prime rib also and that was cold looks like what ever they had leftover that is what we got. We have had many family parties over the years, and they messed up one of my son's parties, and provided us a gift card in exchange for taking money off our party. Why would a certificate like this even have an expiration date? When we tried to use it last week, I got the run around from the flunkies of their staff, fully knowing we have held many parties there over the years. All I can say is SHAME ON YOU!!! You lost a customer for life. I will never walk through those old doors again, and will make 100% certain that many of my friends & family won't either. We stayed in their BnB across from the restaurant for 6 days & are lucky to have survived. We nearly froze in the room the first night, someone left the storm windows up & the draft was horrendous. Night 2 was better we only stayed up all night with a roof leak. The electric outlets worked half the time and we had everything plugged in one bathroom outlet. On day 1 my wife bought new towels cause the ones provided were very frayed & yellowed. There's an odor of mold throughout the 200 year old house and if any room was available on the island we would have left in a heartbeat. Quaint. As a straight male it pains me to use that word but it best describes The Old Bermuda Inn. The Old Bermuda Inn is exactly that. It has been transformed into a catering hall of types. You can't miss the pink Inn even though it's surroundings have been, much like the rest of Staten Island, overdeveloped. Inside the OBI, there are many rooms for small functions. The decor is definitely Victorian and chicks dig that. I haven't been to every room but I don't think any are large enough for weddings. It's more commonly used for bridal/baby showers, engagement parties, first birthdays, communion/conformation parties and the like. They have a very nice Sunday Brunch that I've been to numerous times. The food is good enough, not great. I choose a Bloody Mary over a Momosa every time. It neither too horseradishy nor is it too spicy. The Old Bermuda Inn is believed to be haunted but I have yet to see anything that leads me to believe that is true. The only negative is the wait staff. They seemed to be young, high school young and therefore not very attentive. Probably off texting someone somewhere. If you ever go to OBI, look towards the water and you will see a ship graveyard. It is so cool. I'm pretty sure you can see it from Google Earth! read more

I was here today on a repast and I must say I am a little disappointed. It looks 4 star from first glance and things went so smoothly at first but it all fell apart. The salads are skimpy and while the primi piatti came out, the time between that and the entree was about 35 minutes. Where are the bread plates?? We had none and we had to leave our rolls in the salad. Also, you should have the water glasses filled. Just putting a pitcher on a table of 10 after they've been in the hot sun is not enough and to pour it themselves and run out with no refill reflects badly on basic service, I asked for a fork, I did not get one so I used a spoon. Also, we had *one* bread basket for the whole table of 12. Six pats of butter and one basket on a table of 12? The only people who gave a damn and were awesome were Kathleen and Peter (P is cute too!) but everyone else seemed annoyed. The food and service were subpar and I would NOT ever recommend. I have now attended enough parties at OBI to say I am a fan. I have been to a 30th birthday party, an engagement party and most recently my goddaughter's Christening. This place is HUGE, lots of different rooms to choose from. I like that the decor is classic yet well kept, definitely not outdated. The room upstairs was very pretty and spacious. There is a room downstairs that has a cafe/plaza kind of vibe with windows with shutters and balconies around the room. I found the buffet to be the meal I enjoyed the most even though the food was very salty. The staff were very accommodating and friendly which is a huge plus. The few parties I've been to they've brought in their own cake and desserts but I know the house bakery is Renato's Pastry Shoppe on Forest which is delicious! I recommend getting to any event early to avoid the horrendous parking situation. read more

I just threw my aunt's baby shower here and overall I was satisfied. There were some things I didn't like but the good definitely outweighed the bad. The place itself is very nice . It has a mixture of old school and modern decor, which I actually like. It's also really big. There's a lot of different rooms to choose from when planning a party. The bathrooms are so nice. Some of the nicest public bathrooms I've been to. Very clean. The staff is superb. They really do take care of everything from beginning to end. The maitre d' for our party was Nicholas and he was the best. He always seemed to be there whenever we needed anything. Throwing a party here is pretty cheap also. We had a total of 32 at the party and it came to about $1000. That included your choice of linens, a rocking chair for the mom-to-be to open gifts, salad, bread, pasta, main entree, cake, unlimited soda, coffee, and tea, and a champagne punch. The only thing we had to take care of were favors and centerpieces. They could have provided simple candles for the table but we wanted to do our own centerpieces. The cake they provide is from Renato's Bakery on Forest Avenue. I am not a fan of bakery cakes at all, I def. prefer homemade, but the cake was actually very good. We had a chocolate cake with canoli cream and chocolate mousse inside and topped with whipped cream. I loved it! You are able to bring in your own cake if you'd like but you definitely won't be disappointed if you go with the cake they provide. While you can bring in your own cake or cupcake, they are strict about other things to bring. We wanted to do a small candy station but that was not allowed at all. I would say the food is the weakest part of this place. The caesar salad was good, as was the penne vodka. It was my main dish that I had a problem with. I had the chicken piccatta with twice baked potato and broccoli and carrots. Most of the food was very bland. The other really big complaint I had here was the parking situation. They were throwing about 5 different parties at once and did not have enough room in their lot to accommodate everyone. The guests were basically left to their own devises to find a spot. My pregnant aunt had to park in the parking lot across from the place. That's definitely something they should try to fix. read more

I'll start by saying this place is really beautiful. My fiancé and I were invited to hear a band play a couple of nights ago. "This will be a great way to kick off our Saturday night" we thought. It was definitely... interesting. We walked in and immediately I swear it felt like I was transported back in time. With all the stares and dirty looks we got, I started looking for a sign that read, "No coloreds allowed" or something lol. We were 2 flecks of pepper in a sea of salt. Mostly older people. The hostess behind the desk seemed annoyed. The bartender seemed nice enough. Until he tried to convince us to sit at a table across the room instead of the bar. A few of the patrons came over to chat with us. Some were nice. Some were trying not to be offensive. I think they were sizing us up, trying to figure out if we were "ok" One was... forward. "What the f*** are you doing here? I gotta ask." We stayed about an hour or so because drinks were included in our cover and because the band was pretty great. We didn't try any of the food. But based on some of the other reviews, we weren't missing out. read more

I went to a baby shower here once recently. I'm sorry, but I wasn't impressed with this place at all (& I've been to maaaaaaaany baby showers). The food was ok, nothing spectacular (plus they ran out of French Toast & didn't refill it). Servers were nice. Bathroom had that funky odor that's present in older buildings. The baby shower was in 1 of the rooms downstairs. I see a lot of people Yelped that it's a nice & cute place, but to be honest, I actually think the decor was very tacky & outdated. Also, when my friend & I walked in through the main entrance, we couldn't find the room our friend's shower was in because there were no signs anywhere. There were staffers by the entrance, but all they did was stare at & then ignore us. No one bothered to help us. So we wound up wandering into someone else's party until we realized we were in the wrong room when we didn't recognize anyone. And the main thing I noticed about this place: It's COLD!!! Every room in the place was freezing & the heat was non-existent. Maybe they had heating problems that day or ... maybe it's true that the place is haunted, because I just felt chilled to the bone the whole time & could not warm up. "Meh. This is the place to go when one wants to stay on Si, yet still have a classy meal or go to an upscale buffet on the weekends. They have very nice Holiday buffets (try the shrimp & rice dish, or the choc. mousse!) They give great service & a very nice time eating out when you want to feel special. Very friendly staff all around, as well. We have been here for Thanksgiving day also, so that we didn't have to cook at home & obtained a fine meal indeed. I've never been a fan of venues with too many party rooms and several parties going on at the same time, I always feel you are not getting the best of the best. We waited at the bar where they had set up some sangria for the guest, tasted like Kool Aid. We were welcomed to the dining room and right off the back I knew it wasn't going to be good, the table settings were wet from the waiters putting water on the table, which they should have noticed before hand and clean it up. You had the choice of salmon, chicken and prime beef. The first course, the salad was over dressed, the alfredo pasta sauce dish lack flavor, the chicken dish I had was ok, but needed a lot of salt and pepper to being out any flavor, hey at least the chicken was cooked, my bf had the salmon but once again, you had to salt the crap out of it get some sort of flavor, but it was cooked well. I didn't have any of the desert since I don't like vanilla pudding cake. The bathrooms were all cleaned and cleaned every 30 mins, which is good for a venue with several parties going on.
