    Delicious vino!
    Christopher T.

This is one of the places in SF that has the best ambiance. There's light switches for a martini cart and a champagne cart. The cocktails are great and the wine program is AWESOME. A The staff has all been there forever (a great sign these days) and the food just keeps getting better and better!

stopped by Holbrook House around 6pm for drinks and light bites before an 8pm dinner, and it was the perfect start to the evening. The space is truly stunning. The covered "outdoor" patio is exactly my kind of outdoor seating: open-air feel without actually freezing or dealing with the wind. The whole place has a beautiful, relaxed vibe that feels upscale. The martini cart was such a fun touch. Being able to customize your martini tableside makes the whole experience feel a little special, and it was delicious. I went with the champagne flight which was a great way to ease into the night. We ordered oysters and deviled eggs to snack on. The oysters were fresh and clean, and the deviled eggs were seasoned perfectly. Overall, it's a gorgeous and comfortable spot. Can't wait to come back for a meal!

What a beautiful space for sips and nibbles. It's difficult to get a reservation but it's well worth it. The staff was very attentive and knowledgeable, offering lots of dining suggestions. My group wanted to experience the martini cart, and oh boy was it an experience. I believe the server's name was Amber and she walked this through multiple ways you could create a concoction. My two friends chose very fancy martinis with blue cheese olives and a caviar bump. The highlight for me was seeing the long pour of the martins into the glasses. For food we started with the Grand Seafood Tower, which consisted of three levels of delicious chilled seafood and the crown jewel being the half lobster and a dozen oysters. Realizing we would need a bit more substance, shared truffle fries, the kale salad, the chicken piccata and the pork chop. Everything was well seasoned and pipping hot. It would be an understatement to say I would stuff to the brim.

Such a fun place to end the night after a long day at work! Holbrook House was full around 7 p.m. on a weeknight. The patio/building lobby area was full. We found a couple of seats in the island bar area which is huge compared to most bar areas. Our bartender was super busy when we first sat down but the night got slower about 30 minutes in. Bartender was friendly, talkative and amazing! Gave my friend and me shots of his favorite tequila to sample. I really enjoyed this trendy, upbeat place and can't wait to return!

Came back here to actually dine in (first time was at the Yelp event). I loved the light switches they have to indicate whether you want the champagne or martini. I opted for a champagne flight when the server came around with the champagne cart. For food, we ordered the flight of fries, scallop crudo, mac n cheese, and fish and chips. Not usually a potato fan, but the fries were delicious! The scallop crudo was a small portion size but great, clean and fresh flavors. The mac n cheese was delicious and perfect for a cold windy night in SF. I got the fish and chips, and the fish was very fresh but mostly flavorless on its own without any breading or sauce. Really nice atmosphere for a date night or business meals and the bar area has these cute old fashioned seats. Will still be back for some drinks and fries at the bar next time.

I walk past Holbrook House almost every day on my way to BART, and I've always been curious about it because the building itself is so beautiful from the outside. I finally stopped in for drinks and the interior is just as stunning as I imagined. The space has a very polished, upscale feel with a beautiful marble bar, warm lighting, and a really thoughtfully designed interior. It feels like a great spot for after-work drinks or a relaxed date night in the Financial District. I've also noticed they host events pretty often, which seems to add to the lively atmosphere. We sat at the bar, which was a nice way to watch the bartenders making drinks and take in the space. Drinks: * Tommy Margarita * An espresso martini Both drinks were well made and nicely presented. The espresso martini was smooth and strong, and the margarita was refreshing with a little spice from the rim. The overall vibe felt elevated but still comfortable, and the bar had a nice energy without feeling too crowded.

Martini cart sounded interesting, so took a friend. It was a fun experience, you just hit the switch next to your table to call the cart over. A server comes with the martini menu and explains the options. Forgot which martini I got, but it had a pickled plum instead of olive - different but very good! We also did a caviar bump, which can be added on ;) Didn't get a photo of the burger we scarfed down, but it was DELICIOUS! Will definitely return !

    Burrata
    David C.

The food here is excellent across the board. The burrata was rich and creamy, layered with sweet tomatoes, basil oil, and toasted hazelnuts--easily one of the best versions I've had. And look at the photo, presentation is insane. Hang that thing in the Louvre . The seafood tower was a showstopper: lobster, oysters, shrimp, and scallop crudo--everything ultra-fresh and perfectly chilled. Each bite was clean, bright, and full of flavor. I felt like a little prince eating from this thing, pinky out w each bite! The truffle parmesan fries were outstanding--crispy, cheesy, and loaded with herbs. A big bowl of happiness, definitely my love language . Beautiful space, great service, and top-tier food. Holbrook House absolutely lives up to the hype.

Went here with my team for some drinks and bites. Loved the ambiance and high glass roof. It gave off an elevated vibe. There were 5 of us. We got the caviar deviled eggs, Mac n cheese, Brussels sprouts, and the flight of fries. Everything was delicious! What really impressed me though was the Martini Cart. Everyone must do this! They make custom martinis at your table and it was the best martini I've had. Service was top notch. Everyone was very attentive. And it wasn't too pricey! Would definitely come back here.

My boyfriend and I stumbled upon this place last year during a trip to SF, and were so happy to find this again after recently moving to the area! First, we loved this place last year due to the ambiance and service. It's a more upscale spot but still feels relaxed and laid back; even going after a baseball game in casual clothes, I felt welcome. Our bartender last year was fun to talk to, helpful with recommendations, and a great mixologist. We were happy to find the same was true this most recent time as well! I asked the bartender to make me something tart with tequila and egg white, and he definitely came through, and he gave us a sample of a drink recipe he was trying out. Additionally, we ordered the oysters, meatballs and mac n cheese to share. We loved all of the food too! The meatballs were pretty decent in size, seasoned well but also complemented with a sweet tomato sauce, and tender. I love the richness of mac n cheese with gruyere, and the guanciale was a great add on. Will definitely plan on coming back again when visiting the city!

The tableside martini cart with custom martinis is amazing. My martini had a pickled quail egg in it. It was so delicious. The service and ambience are the top notch and the food is also delicious. Do not sleep on their incredible take on mac & cheese. This place is my new favorite and I will be back often.

The prettiest ambiance and friendly staff make it better, I personally love their steak frites. The tender beef is amazing, I recommend snagging a reservation with a larger group because they do tend to get busy for dinner service. The drink menu is huge, varying in a whole binder! There's many options to choose from. Every drink I've had has been good. You can't go wrong.

    Becca H.

This spot was pretty good! The penne alla vodka was actually quite good. We also got the fry flight and had a good combo of fries. This spot gets busy since it is right in FiDi. I recommend making a reservation or the bar will be your option to sit.

There are two rooms, one in the front with a puzzle theme, and another in the back with a Middle Earth (Lord of the Rings) vibe. Staff was friendly and took time to explain the clever menu to us!

Lore's Wonderland escape room was a fun and delightfully whimsical experience. **This review is…read moremainly for the escape room, as we did not order any additional drinks outside of the escape room.** THE SPACE // Lore Speakeasy and Escape Room has cool themed decor everywhere, from the dimly-lit speakeasy/bar room in front, to the Middle Earth/Lord of the Rings-themed board game room, to the individual bathrooms, and of course the escape room's multiple Alice in Wonderland-themed rooms. Clearly a lot of effort went into building these rooms and evoking a certain vibe for each. THE ESCAPE ROOM // The puzzles in the escape room varied in difficulty - some required us to think a bit more, some required our observational skills to work harder, and others required a light level of physical skill/movement. We were perplexed a few times but never got stuck for too long, as the White Rabbit (played by Phoenix, the live actor/puzzle master) would jump in occasionally to provide clues over the speaker or in person. It took us about 1 hr 20 min to finish the entire escape room; I thought the pacing was good. THE [ESCAPE ROOM] DRINKS // Lore's escape room experience comes with "a flight of themed cocktails or mocktails, including "potion"-style drinks that are integrated into the experience as you progress", per the website. We got to choose one cocktail/mocktail option (Korean Cold Noodles) from a list on the website, and the other two drinks are pre-selected to supposedly fit into the Wonderland theme, with the flavors described online as "berry" and "peach". You can get both cocktail and mocktails for your party, in case some people want alcohol and others don't. We all enjoyed the flavor of the Korean Cold Noodles cocktail, which was refreshing and surprisingly a bit minty in the mocktail version. However, we didn't like the two other two pre-selected themed drinks as much. The "berry" drink gave us cherry cough syrup vibes, and the cocktail version of it was quite strong. The "peach" mocktail drink reminded me of canned fruit syrup; we also were missing the two cocktail versions, though we decided not to ask for them as the mocktail version already was less than impressive. One other missed expectation here was the size of the drinks that we received in the escape room. We were expecting full-sized cocktails, like what they serve in the speakeasy in front. Instead, we found out that the drinks are served in small "vials". Given the size of the drinks in the escape room, combined with us not even enjoying two out of the three drinks, I would preferred to go through the escape room without the drinks at all, and likely pay a bit less for the escape room then. OVERALL // I'd still recommend the escape room as a good one-time experience with a date/friends/family. Just don't expect too much from the included themed drinks! The speakeasy drinks on the main menu do sound unique/tasty, so I might come back again to try those sometime.

Delicious med-soft crostini with luscious berries and sweet honey. I didn't care my hands got sticky as it was soooo good!
