Having spent north of 150k at this store alone I was very disappointed with the service from the kitchen and appliance department. I ordered kitchen countertops and installation was terrible resulting in a partial refund as they couldn't reproduce in a timley manner. We got through it. Against my better judgment I ordered appliances. 8 months later I still haven't received my appliances; Brea Home Depot provided no help. I was treated as if I was the problem. Regina, Nina, and Brandy were the reps assisting me. I spent weeks trying to get answers and one would deflect to the other. Ultimatly, Geysi fixed my problem at the very end stating that the order Regina put in was once again incorrect. I got my order 8 months later finally. Regina was always focused on selling kitchens and always made comment to pushing her stores numbers. Nothing wrong with that, until you need assistance from a mistake she caused. I once made a 6pm appointment with her and walked in the store for 2 hours as she was selling another kitchen to another customer. No regard for someone else's time. After I furnished my money, I came second and it was evident she was all about producing the sale but not so much ensuring the follow through to customer satisfaction. Anyways, all this to say my loyalty to the Brea Home Depot is gone. read more

I've been to this location a few times over the years and have never had any issues. I can always find the products that I need in-store and associates are always available if you have any questions. Recently, I placed a pick-up in-store order because I was going to be in the area. Everything went smoothly, as to be expected, as I have used this service numerous times at the City of Industry location. The parking lot was pretty busy on a Saturday morning, but there was no wait for the Pick-Up windows. I was able to get my order really quickly and I was on my way out not soon after. I like the sales that they have in this store, because sometimes they do differ from the other locations. I remember years ago when I purchased a kitchen cart for a friend's Christmas gift and I did not see the item at the City of Industry location. read more

Paint Department Review: My boyfriend and I stopped in on 5/16 to grab paint and supplies for our master bedroom. This isn't our local Home Depot but we were in the area and decided to stop into this one instead of the Fullerton location. They were only letting a certain amount of people in at a time (May 2020) but the wait was not very long for a Saturday afternoon. We went straight to the paint department. We were looking at colors and trying to figure out what we wanted to do and a younger associate (sorry I didn't get his name!) helped us with all the questions we had. We ended up going with a color and product that we knew we would love. Juan and another older gentlemen were at the paint counter and helped us. The line to check out wasn't very long and there was a cashier that was directing us to the next available cashier. We will def be back at this location and soon ! read more

I absolutely hate writing this review because I love Home Depot and have had great customer service from them over the years. This review is strictly for the appliance department which has left me in a huge bind. Last month I walked in to see if I could get help trying to find the right size oven, cooktop and dishwasher for my kitchen as I am having new countertops installed. I could not find the correct size appliances because my kitchen was reconstructed (by Home Depot) over 20 years ago. Appliance sizes have changed a bit (not by much) and I wanted to make sure I was buying correct sizes to avoid returns (which I was told returns at Home Depot are not offered when buying appliances from them). So the lady (won't mention names here) talked me into using their outside service to come to the house and measure my appliances so that they were accurate. So I paid the $100 and was told they would call me within 24 hours to set up the appointment. This took a week and they just said they were busy, no apologies but whatever. Then they said first available appointment was on November 28 which meant I had to wait another 2 weeks. When they finally came out to measure the appliances, the gentlemen said "Home Depot will be calling you within the next 48 hours with your options of which appliances will fit. I never heard back from Home Depot and after 8 days I decided to reach out to them. Meanwhile, my kitchen project is at a stand still because of all of this wasted time. I had called early in the morning so nobody was in the appliances department yet. The gentleman who answered the phone said he would leave a message so that I would get a return call as soon as she came in. Never heard from anyone so at the end of the day I was forced to reach out again. The lady in appliances told me I misunderstood their service which requires the installation of appliances to be completed by Home Depot. This was not mentioned to me when I originally came into the store looking for advice. This lady literally made the assumption that Home Depot would be doing the work on my kitchen. She did not ask me what the plan was for my project, it was all based on her incorrect assumption. I told her on the phone that I have contractors. She then told me there was no way she could assist me further and this was met with a bad attitude. She told me I misunderstood her and basically placed the blame on me. So long story short (as short as I could make it), I have been delayed over a month, I still have no answers and I'm out $100 for no apparent reason. I will need to seek assistance from another appliance store although my countertops are already being fabricated so I probably won't be able to get new appliances at this point anyway. I am a professional painter and this review is specifically for the paint department at the Brea location. There are two people who have been here for years who are highly competent: Raphelle and Joe. Other than these two I consistently get my paint under shaken, wrong sheen, or type. In fact during COVID-19 it has been difficult to get people to actually shake the paint with the tint they have put in it in the first place. These employees belong in gardening talking and interacting with plants not professionals. This last time I had 15 gallons but I ordered stepped away and returned to find that they had not tinted the 5s just shaken it and put it into my shopping cart. W. T. F. ? Royal waste of time. There's a reason we call this location Mom Depot because they are big on decor but short on professional materials. read more

What we enjoy the most about this location is the Garden Section which has a Green House layout where tropical flowers are at the front then the rows are filled with trees and other plants. One is Don in self check out and the other is Paul in returns. On 2 separate occasions I was in need of help and these guys were extra helpful and courteous. Wanted to share Brandon was 100% awesome. He helped me for over an hour standing there trying to resolve a situation with an online purchase that was cancelled due to it not being in stock when they checked but my gift card wasn't showing the refund. I called CS and they attempted to help but told me they couldn't and I should go into the store and they would issue me a new gift card. Nope. Didn't happen and i still haven't received my pending but Brandon is all around super bad ass guy. I appreciate his effort 100%. HD is lucky to have this guy as an employee. I had to order a new cooktop after ours broke, and I had so many questions about how to find the right one. He made sure to answer all my questions with kindness and patience. Unbelievable....you would think walking into this location staff would give exceptional customer service however it took approximately 20-30 minutes to get someone for assistance. Sadly as you walk down the aisles you see staff members (floor staff) hiding from customers pretending to do work to avoid assisting actual customers. [I completely understood there is a PANDEMIC]. However, if you don't feel safe while at work then maybe its something to be examine and brought up to management. I generally go to {Lowe's} it's simple and yet staff aknowledge you no matter what position they uphold... the environment is different at Lowe's you feel at home the floor staff take the time to understand the concept, the project, overall, -what the customer has in mind. At Home Depot... it's quite different customer service doesn't exist-complete failure, customer service doesn't exist it seems like the staff have a chip on their shoulder...come down from cloud 9 a floor staff...you're here to W O R K. ... I gave Home Depot a try and it was a complete FAIL. The only person that took the time was a gentleman by the name of Rafael... managers and trainers please ensure that he moves up the chain of command he went the extra mile to ensure that my questions were answered and he did his very best even when the subject matter wasn't his assigned area. Home Depot you are what you are and you take me to a whole new joy and high when I see you! Everyone must be wondering why I would be so happy to see that large orange building. I don't work at a construction site nor know many things about home improvement. But I do know how to ask questions and get answers by confident employees. That is one big plus in my book. I came here the other day to get a new light bulb and I couldn't find the isle it was in. So I just asked the first employee that came by me and actually he asked if I needed some help! I was a little bit shocked and I did actually need the help. He walked me to the isle and pointed and took it right off the hook and gave it to me. It was the exact brand, size and everything that I was looking for. Great service and it made me delighted! :) WooHoo you guys are great! read more

First off I was just checking out and they had no other choice other than self checkout which I do not support as it takes jobs away from people. Then my payment wasn't going though so I tried to use cash but the machine kept spitting it back out at me. I don't know if I was putting it in wrong but when I told the associate he just said "oh" and shrugged his shoulders and didn't even bother to help me. I tried 3 different cards they all couldn't possibly have the exact same issue. I'm even looking on my bank account to see if there is an issue there and none it's just their machine and again not a single one to help or to even move me to a different kiosk. So I had no choice but to walk out. I had both cash and card and not a single of the associates standing there helped me try to pay absolutely ridiculous. 9:20pm 6/8/21 Update: I called my bank and they said absolutely nothing was wrong. I used my card at another store (Walmart) in the same shopping center and had absolutely no issue using my card. The bank said it was likely their kiosk which makes me even more upset that they did not provide any customer service at check out. I will not be shopping at that location again. Generally speaking, this location has a decent selection of typical Home Depot products and the service is so so. Nothing spectacular, and occasionally there is a stand out employee who takes the time to really help you find what you're looking for and explain the uses. That's part of the frustration of the Home Depot brand where they claim that you should be able to do projects yourself. DIY is not just about watching videos or taking classes... It's also about asking questions when you show up to buy a product and having somebody know what they are talking about. read more

Parking lot was easy to get in and find a spot ... Not a very busy store when we were there yesterday late afternoon... going in they were sanitizing the carts, appreciate that! We passed by at least 4 employees with no acknowledgement. I just feel at these times when it's hard to see our expressions they could acknowledge with a wave or just saying hello. We went to the paint department the young man looked busy, he called on someone else's assistance who came quick. I just would only expect to be acknowledged... I can see they are busy. If he acknowledged gave us an idea how long or that he's called for help is all I need. When the other gentleman came he got the job done but again is it so hard to say Thank you? Worst customer service. If you talk to an employee it almost feels like they think this is the DMV and they're not required to give you their full attention or pay you any respect. I talked to two employees today and they're both talking back with a sense of laziness and unwillingness to help you out. This is really disappointing to write because usually I never have any issues with Home Depot. However, this location is either understaffed or poorly trained, or just don't care. I ordered an item for in store pick up. There was 4 showing on their website when I placed the order. After a couple hours I received a cancellation notice with no reason. Called in and took 10 minutes just to get someone on the phone, only to be blown off. It is not whether the customer is right or wrong, it is just whatever is convenient. "Item is out of stock, we probably won't get any in stock for a couple months." That was the end of that conversation. No apology, no let me see what I can do, or let me try to find this somewhere else for you as an option. Just, you are out of luck, take a hike. Apparently, I was not worth the trouble to keep as a customer. If you actually act like you care, even when you make mistakes customers will forgive you and appreciate the gesture. My husband returned a drill to Home Depot and forgot he left the separately purchased battery in the drill (which of course happens when asking a husband to do something LOL). Of course I found out a week later and was devastated he left the battery in the drill! My husband desperately went back to the store and Randy and Brenda in customer service listened to his story and helped him get a replacement battery! We were only in the store for 10 minutes before Nate (from gardening) came by & asked if we needed help. He was amazing! He was knowledgeable about the grill & appliances. He even offered to help us put it in our vehicle. Nate enlisted the help of Bailey, together with my Hubby the 3 guys got that beast of a grill in there... I'm kind of bummed at how an employee just handled a situation that honestly could've been a disaster. I came in to look at ceiling fans for my nursery, I'm super pregnant and just needed that one thing. I decided everything is a little to expensive right now so I was going to head out. Rather than being irresponsible and ditching my cart in the isle, I tried to put it back. When the cart got to the doors it locked and kicked back at my pregnant stomach. It hurt really really bad. I said something to the employee and she said nothing. Grabbed the cart and put it away herself. I'm honestly really scared since impact to a pregnancy is dangerous. I think those carts need an overhaul. The locking system is more dangerous than any theft you are trying to avoid. read more

Cashier Phyllis at the garden center checkout (outdoors) made a highly offensive, inappropriate, political statement about paying taxes for people who don't want to work. We are an obviously senior age couple who don't work. We spent 50 years in the workforce and we don't want to work any more. Was her comment directed at us? At people who can't work for whatever reason? At people who lost their jobs due to the pandemic and still can't get work? At people who are having trouble finding work for whatever reason? At people who are burned out and/or suffering from PTSD from working during the last 2 years of the pandemic? We just wanted to buy plants. Be a professional, show some compassion, be thankful you are physically and mentally able to work and have a job, and keep your political views to yourself! This is a tale of two home depots. I need new blinds for three windows inmy house(a new dog...a whole other story) so I drove to the home depot on Pullman in Anahiem. A super store HD. Anyway, when I got there I could not get help in the blinds department to save my life. I went to the service desk where I was told to wait for a while l. I did . As I did, the area filled with people wanting help and needing service. Finally a guy showed up chained he didn't know much but would help me when he was done helping everyone else. After he had "helped" 5 or 6 other people who kept showing up, he said to me "what do you want" I told him I need some blinds cut to size. He cut one and told me the others would fit. When I got home the two uncut ones didn't and the cut one was too long for the window. Now for my experience at the imperial highway HD. My first contact was Brandon, I explained I came to his store because of the lack of help at the Anaheim Pullman HD. 5 stars for Brandon, he called over the Godfather of blinds , Mr Chalie Creer. I explained the problem, he took me over and cut the blinds perfectly, even thought I had bought them at a different store. Totally old school Home Depot 5 Stars for Charlie Creer as well. Horrible customer service! I was having a GREAT day until I walked into this store! They sure know how to ruin to piss off people! I couldn't get anyone to help me in the carpet section area. I finally walked around and came across MARIO who walked me back to the carpet area only to pass me on to another guy, who nicely waved at him but never came to help and then disappeared. I waited and waited, until my patience ran out that I had to walk over to the return cashier area and the young man paged for CATHY, but never got a response back. At this point I am fuming. What is customer service to you Home Depot?! If I had a choice, I wouldn't be at this store but unfortunately they had the rug I needed! People of Yorba Linda. Please go to Home Depot Superstore instead! People are much nicer there and will go above and beyond customer service! Home Depot Brea, if this doesn't get better--there is always a corporate number! Wow what a bad paint store. I went in to get a little pint of paint and there were three people working behind the counter that were more concerned about talking to each other about the days activities prior instead of making sure that they provided the great customer service at Home Depot is known for. The management needs to re-train the paint department to provide customer service to people that are standing there asking questions instead of having conversation and ignoring the customer. I will go to a different Home Depot that has customer service and enjoys helping people unlike this location. I would recommend anybody looking for paint to shop elsewhere as they will be ignored and not taken care of. read more
