I love this Home Depot! I've been coming here for years. The employees are always extremely helpful, and they have anything I would ever need when I am fixing up my house bit by bit. I always seem to find the coolest tools to use when fixing up things! Last month I restored a Walnut Lawyers bookcase I found on craigslist. There were some pretty heavy rings, as well as an abundance of nicks and scratches. Thinking I was going to have to strip the finish and completely revarnish it, I was preparing myself for a hearty job ahead. Instead of having to buy wood stripper as well as varnish and brushses, I walked out with a bottle of restore-a-finish, a bottle of feed-n-wax, and some fine steel wool. The restore-a-finish did just as the label would indicate (along with a little help from the steel wool), and the feed-n-wax restored moisture and strength to the decades old wood. It only took my two hours and twenty bucks, and it looks as good as new! I say well played *golfers clap* read more

We were looking for a gas grill at another local store. Not finding what we wanted, we went to the Home Depot down the street. We looked at some Weber grills, but the one we wanted was a little more than we wanted to spend. Boone pointed us to a clearance model that saved us about $300 to $400. I'm on day six of quarantine at home after having what I thought was an awful sinus infection and sore throat. Then I got a positive Covid test. Yikes. So when our Encinitas tenant called relaying that his hot water heater wouldn't stay lit and apparently was leaking, my husband (who also had to be quarantined) couldn't go check it out. It was a Rheem gas hot water heater with a 6 year warranty that he had purchased from Home Depot and installed in 9/2015, so it was still under warranty for 5 more months. After numerous calls to various plumbers, who told us that the Rheem warranties were basically worthless and touted their own (very expensive) brands, I then got in touch with an employee named "Jacqueline" in customer service. She was SO HELPFUL. She looked up the information and we basically got a full refund AND Home Depot took care of the disposal of the old water heater! With her help, I was able to send our handyman there with the old unit, arrange for the refund, and then she called me for our credit card to cover the extra charges for the newer model and needed parts. All from my home! She went above and beyond! We now have STRONG trust that Home Depot will back Rheem's warranty and we will continue to buy our needed hot water heaters here. Never ever will I buy again from Home Depot on-line. Instead of 5 cases of same laminate they shipped me 5 DiFFERENT cases. All different. White, brown, black. What kind of dumb person you have to be to not see the difference between black and white color? Or they are all blind. Their people at their problem resolution are deaf. They do not help you solve the problem. They are like parrots - repeat the same senseless phrases over and over again. And do nothing. I cannot believe how stupid the people in Home Depot are. I had a 1 year old delta kitchen faucet handle break off in my hand on Sunday July 18, 2021. I drive to HD Encinitas no plumbing employees seen or responded to a page. A plumber was in the same aisle I asked him how to fix it. 1st comment was the model and brand he said the Marca handle usually breaks within 3 to 6 months bad design he said get the next one up Owendale big improvement over the cheap Marca. Call delta they will give you a phone number to the area rep for delta HD will the refund the purchase price. I bought the Owendale installed it myself 63 year old woman follow the directions no problem. Problem was HD refused to give a refund I got the phone number of who to call customer service refused to call she went back to plumbing she said she was told no way will they refund even 1 cent. I called the 951 Wilma called the store still they refused. Store manager Gary refused to take the call. I called delta they said this model is exclusive to HD and yes they will give the ok to refund. I got a call back from delta 5 to 7 weeks for a full refund of both old and new faucet. Beware HD doesn't give a hoot about what name brands say about warranties call the manufacturer work with them! HD is just in the game for the money no wonder Lowe's is beating them at their own game!! read more

The lumber yard and prodesk have horrible service and efficiency. On three separate occasions I have tried to purchase lumber 10-50 pieces. Not only have the associates not known where the wood is, they pass you around from one worker to the next. I spent 25 minutes just trying to have them find 1x2. Each time I was reminded why I ALWAYS GO TO DIXILINE- they know their jobs and are much more efficient. read more

I really want to like the Home Depot but one they built this location over wetlands and two there really is never enough workers there to assist you. I'm clueless when it comes to screws and finding the right size. I do love looking at all the paint colors. I think they finally now carry low emissions paint that is more environmentally friendly that the others. It costs more but it's worth it, especially in kids rooms and a must if they have allergies. Anyway, the garden center is okay and could have a better selection but the good thing is if your plant dies and you have the receipt they will give you a refund. Their plants aren't cheap and fresh flowers overpriced. Not sure if any of the prices are actually good. read more

I have written a negative review about this Home Depot in the past. The good news is that I had such a good experience with Tim in the paint department today that my opinion about them has changed! A couple of weeks ago, I went in to buy some paint for my 72' patio cover. The person on staff told me it would take 2 gallons after looking at my plans. As it turns out, it took 2 gallons to do the frame all by itself, without even starting on the shade. I went in today and explained the whole situation to Tim who gave me another 3 gallons but discounted them so that overall I only had to pay for a 5 gallon bucket. It wasn't a whole lot of money (around $20), and I know that somebody had to screw up for me to have this good experience, but the fact that Tim was willing to listen to my complaint and do what was in his power to fix it is worth a lot in my book! read more

I ordered a Dishwasher and it was a disaster. They showed up to deliver the dishwasher and made up a story as to why they could not install it that day. The delivery driver told my wife that if he took the dishwasher back with him it would be over a month before he would be able to return with the dishwasher to install it. His alternative was that he could leave it at our house and return the following week to install the dishwasher. Well today was the day they were scheduled to return to our house and install the dishwasher. Yesterday we received a voicemail that they would be at our house sometime between 8:30am and 12:30pm and that the driver would call us 30 minutes before they arrive. We received a call today from the driver at 9:03am telling me he would be there in 20 minutes. While my wife was helping our kids with their zoom classes she saw the box truck pull up to the house and went downstairs to wait for them. After a few minutes of waiting she went to look for them they were gone. Now they called me at 9:03am to say they would be there in 20 minutes and at 9:26am my wife called to ask where they went. She was told that they knocked and no one answered. Not true. I then called and was told they also rang the door bell and it did not work. Also not true. They refused to send them back to install the dishwasher. If they are supposed to call us 30 minutes before they arrive and they came, left and my wife called before 23 minutes passed from their initial call how can they justify that their driver did not lie? They made no effort to make this right. I kept getting the same answer. "You have been scheduled for October 30th. That is the best we can do." I spent about 3 hours of my time trying to make this work. The best part is that they told me since the driver left the dishwasher at our house and it has been more than 48 hours since they left it at our house we cannot return it. I am still working to get my money back but I am not going to let this just happen to us. By the way, they left the dishwasher in our back yard. Home Depot needs to step up and do the right thing. I would recommend that no one order appliances from Home Depot. I understand mistakes happen and that sometimes employees do bad things. I judge a company by how they make it right and nothing is being done to make this right. Update 10/24 - I was told I would receive a call by 3:00pm today with an update. No call. Great customer service by The Home Depot. Remember this when you are consider ordering an appliance from The Home Depot. More updates to come. I was here today to buy lots of stuff including paints. Josie was super helpful. Gave me some good suggestions,. I made sure to thank her for being so professional. Two things that bothered me there were Kalynn being so mad and this branch's very limited ceiling items. Kalynn did a great job ignoring us, and even when I asked why our bucket doesn't have a handle, she said it's not something she can help with and turned around. I gotta be honest, she was the only employee that was acting so unprofessional. read more

I'm typically a pretty big Home Depot fan. I've spent a ton of money there over the years. Wanting to make some fast flooring decisions for an investment condo, I made an appointment with the flooring department at Home Depot. When I arrived, the person who was supposed to help me wasn't around. The other flooring specialist told me that the guy assigned to me was brand new and couldn't really help me. So, she offered to help me, but she was going home for the day in 15 minutes. Fast forward a week. After I spent $50 to have my place measured - that tech was great - I went back to the store to change a few options and the guy at the counter couldn't have cared less about my order. The next day I called to speak to the original specialist, and she saw no updates made the day before. Aargh. She was responsive on the phone, but not helpful in terms of pointing me to the right flooring. Bottomline, after so-so service and $50 for the measurement, Home Depot came in 20% MORE than my local flooring store.And at my local store, I experience phenomenal service and they measured for free. Home Depot is great for self-service stuff, but be warned about the services. read more

If you think that the Home Depot requires masks as it says outside their entrance on a huge sign, you would be mistaken. Yesterday there were several shoppers not wearing masks. When I talked to a couple of Home Depot employees about it they said they can't require customers to wear masks. So, which is it? Either masks are required as their sign says, or they are optional, as appears to be their practice. I told the manager that if masks are required and a customer refuses to wear one, they should be asked to leave the store and refused service. He was very polite and understanding but I didn't get the feeling that he would be enforcing my suggested practice. I won't be shopping at Home Depot again. read more

No worries--he checked other stores, he dug around the back for the Schedule 80 (x1 1/4") PBC my boss was looking forward to picking up. DORIN spent even the next while helping us with wire by-the-foot. All the times he was interrupted by other customers looking for this and that, he never once forgot to multi-task and not stretch my patience. This Home Depot is so conveniently located, and yet I regret walking in there nearly every time. There may be a few people who have been working there for a long time and still value knowledge and customer service, but for the most part it seems that those two values have been thrown out the window. 9 out of 10 times I ask someone for assistance, and they shrug and say they have no idea...and try to point in another direction to find someone else. There was one employee who started walking down the aisle toward me when I politely asked, "Hi can you help me with these paint rollers..." and before I finished my sentence she put her hand up while continuing to walk past me saying, "I don't work in this aisle, don't ask me." Home Depot supposedly prides themselves on their employee know-how but if you come to this location, you better know exactly what you're looking for. Some days I go in and everyone asks me if I need help finding something, and others I go in and no one asks... it's pretty hit or miss depending on the day you choose to go in. Really like this location. Have been going there for all my random project needs for about 7 years now. Staff has always been friendly but I feel like they have really picked it up in terms of their customer service the last 2 years. Normally, I can always find someone ready to help and give me advice on what I need. Everyone is surprisingly knowledgeable about a variety of topics. I recently went in to pick up some moving stuff and to install a retractable screen door. The team there pointed me in the right direction and ended up suggesting a product I am very happy with. All and all, great experience and was out of there quick. There is 1 downside to this location. I don't know why but I get no service on Verizon in there which is a total pain because I am always calling Someone back at home to double check measurements or to FaceTime to show what I am buying and it never works. So if the Verizon reception could be improved, that would be a huge plus! Funny critique I'm sure but I always feel like I need to call someone when I am in there! read more

Naturally, this store has just about every single possible thing you could ever want or imagine to enhance, upgrade, or fix your home. On top of which, I have been delighted by some fantastic customer service. Whether it was in the lumber yard or garden area, I was treated very well and genuinely helped. The best tho was a gentlemen who helped me pick out a grill. I, I am embarrassed to admit, was clueless. He was so sweet, funny, and kind. He apparently was retired then went to HD part-time, and I am so glad he did. He asked some very solid questions to learn what my "grilling" needs might be and directed me to the perfect unit. He also helped me get signed up with the propane exchange. Have to say, my experiences here have been all positive. Thank you! read more

I waited at the Home Depot store this a.m. to do an exchange. While waiting, I noticed 3 customers walk in without masks. They were not stopped, or even asked to wear a mask. I was later told by the greeter and by the manager that as a matter of corporate policy, they do not require customers to wear masks, even though the sign at the entrance states otherwise. I then called the corporate customer service, and was told that for "safety reasons", i.e. potential violent customers, that they don't enforce mask requirements as to customers. I stated that such policy exposes the vast majority of customers who wear masks, to COVID 19 and potential death as a result of a small segment of scofflaws who choose to ignore safety requirements. I suggested they weigh the risks of harm and potential death to customers, against the risk of violence by scofflaw customers. The representative suggested I "stay home" if I don't like their policy. I then called Dixieline Lumber, and was told that they supply customers who don't have masks, with masks upon entering, and that their policy is to not allow customers in who choose not to wear masks. As a long-time customer of Home Depot, I will no longer patronize its stores, due to its policy. I will patronize Dixieline Lumber instead, and recommend others do the same. read more

If you're a DIYer, come here, but come prepared (research YouTube). Workers are around, just ask for help, and they seem more friendly too. We've been going here for almost every 1-2 weeks. Had to have refunds/exchanges, done without hassle just get store credit w/o receipts. I would only recommend getting their paint if you go early beating the crowd or later at night. They only have one brand with low VOC with limited colors (this is why I go to Sherwin Williams instead). I prefer to get plants over at Armstrong's or Branches and Barrels, but come here for the mulch, and garden basics. Do expect a crowd or limited parking if you come during peak hours. read more

theyve screwed us repeatedly and we've stupidly given them more chances. weve used them for 3 major remodel jobs and theyve subcontracted the jobs out to inexperienced fools who did sloppy jobs each time. we didnt complain about the first 2, but did on the 3rd and they wont stand behind their work. not even a discount. in the store we grabbed 16 decking items and they charged us for 116. the items were something like $30 a piece, and we had a ton of other stuff we were purchasing at the time. we only realized we'd been ripped off later when we checked our receipt. they must do this 100s of times a day. maybe its just a sticky button on their computer, but its major $ to us. we are done with this shady place forever. we will only use LOWES from now on read more

As anyone who shops here knows, they have everything from dowels for your windows, to toilet seats, patio furniture, plants, wall decals and cleansing products. Don't leave without the big orange Homer muli-purpose bucket! The staff is really knows their stuff....you get a pro down every aisle. I really appreciated when I misplaced my receipt, that they went above and beyond to print another copy out for me. Thumbs up! I just wish I had more money to spend in there! read more
