This is a slightly mixed review. On 7/3/26, I bought an a/c unit online for same day delivery. They use Door Dash. The problem is that I kept getting door dash calls because they kept sending multiple drivers to pick up the same order. I called the location and they told me that if it didn't arrive by noon, that I could come pick up another one, which I appreciated. However, my order did arrive shortly after. The customer service I received was pleasant. However, HD needs to fix this delivery issue with Door Dash. They sent 5 ppl to pick up one order. I have no idea which driver actually delivered it. So the original order could have been stolen. I'm not sure if the manager sent it with the last driver or not. We don't have visibility because we order through HD, but the driver is calling the customer asking us to call DD. All of that should be handled without the customer's involvement directly with HD. I didn't choose to deliver through DD. read more

I was in search of an item, did an online search because I was nearby and their app said they did have it, but the app was a bit misleading. I'll tell you why. I was searching for shipping materials. I knew Home Depot carried them. I specifically typed in a shipping tube. The app stated this store had them and they were in stock. I go inside, use the app to direct me to the correct aisle and bay only to find that all they had was boxes and the typical accompanying items you would think of when it comes to shipping. Think tape and packaging extras. I felt awkward coming back to this section. When I approached this section, there were a handful of employees that were just kind of taking a break in this area. Right in front of what I needed to look at. I get it, some downtime on the job warrants you being able to shamble about. But not a single one of them would move so I could browse or offer to help. I go back to the app, type in shipping tube again and it directs me now to a different section completely in the store. It took me to tubes, but the tubes you would use to pour cement into. Needless to say, I left here a little peeved. Why advertise on the app you have something and then totally change that up. read more

I don't always feel called to leave a review, but I feel like this service was particularly bad so here I am. I returned something, and I was told that I could only get store credit. I then tried to purchase something else on that store credit and wasn't able to because apparently the name attached to my gift card was incorrect and you need to verify All gift card purchases with your ID. I approached customer service to tell them to update my name so it's correct- they told me that they're unable to do that- after they screwed it up ten minutes ago. When I voice concerns about being unable to use the gift card online, the employee told me that I wasn't able to use gift cards online which actually seems like she just lied to me. The level of an incompetence, and also the inability to take responsibility for such incompetence is why I have left one star. read more

This by far the worst Home Depot I've ever dealt with. I was supposed to have a grill delivered and for more than two days they couldn't figure out what driver was supposed to pickup the grill for delivery. I spoke with several managers who would give me different answers each time and had no idea how to solve the issue. Home Depot also uses DoorDash for deliveries which is the worst business idea I've ever heard. Never order anything from HomeDepot, you either won't get your product or it will be very delayed. read more

She was honest on what she can do and what she cannot do in regard with discount and service. Her managerial skills are top-notch and her interpersonal skills are exceptional. I just wanted to leave a review of the excellent customer service I received today. I drove an hour in the hopes the pre-lit artificial tree would still be in stock as the website said limited stock and it was the only location anywhere near close to me showing availability. When I got there I couldn't find my tree in any of the boxes. A young gentleman came to help me and said he would look around since the sku said there was only one left - but said it was most likely the display model. After some searching he said he could sell me the display for a discount since the box was gone and that he would go find me a box to put it in. By this time another older gentleman came to help dismantle the display and wait with me while the other employee went to go find a box. They helped me package it up and get it into my car. Both of these guys went above and beyond today and helping me get my tree made the long drive there and back worth it. read more

I usually go to Aspen Hill or DC even though this location is slightly closer. They have 1,000 people in their little vests and it doesn't matter who you ask, they don't know. Don't place an order for curbside!!! No ma'am, what were YOU thinking?!??? Minimum 3 hours to fill and half an hour wait in the parking lot and they are ALWAYS out of something. Had a great experience at this HD! I'd been working on some repairs and getting a new lawnmower. At checkout, I realized that I'd forgotten my coupon HD had sent to me. The last thing I wanted to do was have to go back home and start my shopping all over again when I came back. I explained my situation to Winter (a store manager). She told me to complete my purchase, come back w/ my coupon later, and she would honor it if it was valid. When I came back, she reviewed the coupon to ensure it was valid, and kept her word. She also gave me a couple of suggestions on other items I might need and where to find them...including a few sale price/clearance items. Do not get your appliances at Home Depot. They send out appliances that have been packed damaged and do not want to exchange them or help you out. I received a dishwasher that had no damage to the outside box or the packaging and the door and inside were bent and they insisted I had to go through GE the manufacturer. GE service inspected it and found it had been damaged inside and the whole unit needs to be replaced. I'll never shop at Home Depot again. You pay good money and they don't want to do the right thing. read more

Yesterday I received a call to come to the store because our window measurements were in. When I arrived I waited for more than thirty minutes for a representative. No one came. It must of been 5-10 orange vests who called on their cellphones and/or PA system. No result; echoes in the ether of loneliness. Today I got a call that a representative would be available (but wasn't taking appointments). I came back and got the exact same experience. If you are looking for a lonely place to shop, Home Depot Hyattsville is your spot. It's a different experience. If you need service and quality, I'd highly advise looking elsewhere. read more

Very Poor Service with installation of washer & dryer and I'm sure any other appliance. Please don't pay HD to install any thing for you find you a good plumber or Appliance services technician to conduct your installs. It will save you a lot of time,frustration and anger within the process. My installation has taken three attempts on the third attempt. I had to pay a plumber to come out and do my installation and ask them to refund me my installation cost and just drop off the appliance. read more

Curbside pickup is a joke! They placed the curbside pickup parking in a prime location so everyone but curbside folks are parking there Circled the lot and tried to find a spot that was close enough to the curbside parking so I could at least see if anyone was bringing out was resembled my order and get their attention. I parked and checked in online. They said someone would be with me shortly...I waited about 12-15 minutes and decided to go inside. Went in and there were about 4 customer service folks just standing around. I went up to one and asked for my order. She put my info in the system, went to the cabinet and pulled out my order...glad I didn't wait any longer because clearly no one was actively working on it. Soooo on second thought...Perhaps those folks parking in curbside parking are violating or got tires of waiting for someone to come out with the order and went inside. We often go to the DC Home Depot by Rhode Island Metro station out of convenience, but it was often messy and disorganized while lacking customer support on their floors. This is why we go out of our way to Hyattsville Home Depot because, in the past, they were organized, cleaner and more prompt service. But after experiencing Hyattsville Home Depot today... We were sorely let down. For about 10 to 15 minutes, we couldn't find an employee to ask if they could cut the 4' X 8' foam insulation board into 2' X 2' into manageable size since we use Uber/Lyft. I couldn't find a "press for help" box. Finally, a young employee finished helping another customer, he came around the corner and I asked him for help. He said he can't do anything for us and walked away. We dropped the plan to get foam insulation. Next, we went to get some wood. We wanted to buy cheap, 6' long dog-eared fence panels but they were wet with black mold growing on all the panels we pulled out. We dropped the plan to buy them and check the plywood panels instead. We wanted to buy four 1" x 1" x 8' into 2' sections and a 1/4" x 4' x 4' plywood into 2' quarters. We waited by the wood cutting machines and I walked around looking for an employee. While 15 to 20 minutes passed as I checked the aisles for someone available, I stumbled, nearly tripped, on a loose strap laying on the floor. Finally another employee that looks he's on break walked by and I asked him about getting the wood cut. He went to get someone. The third employee showed up and typed in his phone saying the wood cutting machine was broken. What a waste of time! What happened to posting an out-of-order sign?! They made a DeafBlind customer wait for nothing! So we dropped getting the 4' x 4' plywood, and grabbed the 2' X 2' plywood panels instead which cost us more money. We returned the four 1" x 1" x 8' back to the shelf. We also planned to check for straw bale and a bag of bird seed, but with the way things were going, we decided to just go home. It was so unnecessary to go to this location! About 20 bucks was wasted on Uber/Lyft. We could have went to the DC Home Depot if it was going to be this frustrating, crappy waste of time and money! We came to Hyattsville Home Depot with the intention of getting all the wood and supplies we needed to build a cat house for the two feral cats who moved into our backyard. Tonight, it's going to be 34 to 36°F overnight, and we feel bad for the feral cats not having a house ready for them to keep them warm. Thank you, Hyattsville Home Depot! I don't know what happened that made you drop the ball on quality of service and cleanliness this time! One star for being a step higher than DC Home Depot. Trash. This is the first time I've been at a Home Depot and the staff was not helpful or accommodating at all. I could barely even find people that worked there. And when I did they were cold and dismissive and not that helpful. I am not an expert at house keep up and house projects and I'm sure a decent portion of their customers aren't. I feel like I couldn't ask a question or if I did I had to get every question out quickly before the person walked off. The manager on duty was DONNAY. I rushed to Home Depot because the hours online and posted on the doors say open until 6pm. I am at the doors before 6pm, but am met by an employee standing at the door telling me I can not come in. I ask for the manager DONNAY, who also tells me I can not come in, to which I respond he should not say the store closes at 6! I was able to have two conversations, and it still was not 6:00 yet! Absolutely RIDICULOUS and INCONSIDERATE! He do not ask what I needed or if it was a quick purchase; not concerned. I stopped by this location only because it was on my way home. I only visited the nursery section to buy my annual plants for my deck. As far as prices go, Home Depot's are pretty good. The plants are healthy too. There was a guy here from the nursery where they purchase their flowers from while I shopped, and he was the one watering the plants from his shop. Most of my plants came from Bell Nursery in Burtonsville, MD. It wasn't too busy in the garden center, but there sure were a lot of cars in the parking lot. The online pickup was the same line as returns, there was one cashier working, I waited over 20 minutes to get to the cashier. She went to look for my order and is was not there. She then went to try and find my items, she ended up passing it on to another associate, who took 10 more minutes to get my items. I asked for the manager Brandon, he did not answer the page. Phones were ringing off the hook and I saw one associate pickup the phone and immediately hang it back up. This store is a fucking shit show. All management from the store, to the district, to the region, should be fired. DISGRACEFUL! I will never return to this location will be posting this review on Yelp! read more

If I could give less than one star I would. I'll just get right to it - the store manager, a young guy, is as unprofessional and opinionated as I've ever seen. He his attitude when asked about the lumber section was comparable to twelve year old having to get off of the couch. He chose to argue with us instead of clarify our question. The majority of the staff fall in the same category. When you look at them its like their cockroaches, they immediately assume you're coming in with a question and want to run for the cracks in the wall. The nicest folks are the cash register staff members. I can't say the same for other Home Depots. However, if you can avoid this one, or enter with no need for assistance, then go for it. read more

I purchased a washer-dryer from Home Depot - Hyattsville in late December. The sales rep at the store, Celeste, was very helpful and I appreciated her assistance. Since my purchase, the customer service has been awful. My appliance was scheduled to be delivered in the morning of Thursday, January 2nd. I stayed home from work to be there. Throughout the day I checked the delivery status app and saw that my appliance was on the delivery truck and there were a few people ahead of me. The delivery status was still expecting to deliver my appliance as of 5 pm... this is already several hours overdue. When I called the Home Depot phone number on the order alert at 5:30pm, I learned this number was fully automated. I had to text them to speak to a human. Then they informed me they would have to reschedule my delivery because it was after hours and their service couldn't get to my delivery that day. I escalated this -- spending a couple more hours of MY TIME -- and was forced to reschedule to a Saturday a week and a half later, with modest compensation. I again stayed home all day Saturday to accept delivery. The automated alerts indicated all was going as scheduled. Then I received a phone call from the delivery company about 2 hours into my window that despite all the alerts I had received, my appliance will not be delivered as rescheduled because the company has LOST MY APPLIANCE. Instead of finding it and making sure it would be delivered since they had a week and half's notice on an already-escalated order, they cannot locate the appliance in their own warehouse and have said they must reschedule delivery by another week because of their own mistake, and because it takes 2-3 business days to search their warehouse. And I must reserve yet another day of my time to wait for this delivery -- without any confidence that it will actually be delivered. I have spoken with the HD resolution team and the local store manager. They have all stated that it's Home Depot's customer service policy to not even discuss compensating a dissatisfied customer for the terrible inconvenience and waste of the customer's time which they are responsible for causing, until after a product has been delivered. Frankly, I am shocked by this completely UNACCEPTABLE customer service. read more

Went to this home depot for quickly picking up some moving boxes on a Saturday afternoon. It took us just about 10 minutes to go in, figure out where the boxes were, selecting the desired number and size, and checking out. As soon as we got in, there was someone to point us to where we could find the boxes. We spent about 80% of the time figuring out how many and which sizes to take. Once we had made up our mind, we were quickly able to check out. Inspite of there being quite a crowd, there were enough check out counters to handle the crowd. read more

Number two: I needed assistance on both visits; I received excellent assistance both times; and some older Home Depot employee gentleman did NOT try to invite himself over to "do the installation" (or does that mean I'm losing my touch?)... WORST. HOME. DEPOT EVER. Went to this HD on September 8 to buy tile for a bathroom renovation. This store seemed to have the best variety of tile on hand, so I went to check it out with my installer. We made the selections, then spent 10 minutes looking for someone in the tile department to have the tile pulled for pickup the next day, something I've done frequently at other HDs. It seemed to take forever for him to understand what we wanted. He then wrote the various tile selections on a form and told us he would have the order picked that night so we could pick it up the next day. I asked him if I needed to pay then. He said no, I could pay at pickup. Repeatedly. Next day I sent two workmen to pick the tile up. No tile had been picked and I was repeatedly told there was no record of any order. Asked for the MOD, Kimberly. She seemed to refuse to believe I'd ever placed an order fairly rudely. Once I asked to speak to her superior, she suddenly became very helpful. As it turns out, the employee I'd spoken to the previous night had left the list in his locker. No one had pulled anything. So, Kimberly had them pick the order. By this time my workers had been standing around for about an hour or so. I bought about $1500 worth of tile. They did not have on hand two of the tile styles I wanted (though the guy I spoke with when I was there assured me they had them in stock). They added those onto the invoice, for another $250. She said she would make sure she had the tiles the next day and deliver it to my house free due to all the problems. No delivery. I called her that evening and she told me she was still trying to find them. Called the next day -- still looking. Called again two days later, was sent to her voice mail. Never heard from her again. I finally got the tile elsewhere. I called this morning to make sure the charges for the outstanding $250 worth of tile were removed from my account. Tried calling the service desk at the store twice. On hold for at least 5-10 minutes each time until I had to hang up to get back to work. Third time, called the toll-free Customer Service number. The person I spoke to read me the "we're really sorry" script, but told me I'd have to go through the store customer service desk. She transferred me, where I was on hold for 10 minutes before hanging up. This place is atrocious. None of the folks on the floor had a clue. Asked someone in power tools to direct me to the tile saws. He told me there was no such thing, I just needed to use a circular saw with a special blade. I've gotten very good to excellent service at other HDs, mostly NE DC and Pickett Road, Alexandria. This place is beyond hope. Shut it down and start from scratch. read more
