I see why this location has an average of three stars. The only reason I stopped here is because it was on the way and made sense logistically. I already knew what I needed and that it was sold for a good price because I researched it online ahead of the visit. This was intended to be a quick locate and purchase visit. As I walked in, I saw a staff member standing at the entrance. I asked her where I could find the item. She appeared cordial enough, as she verbally directed me to the correct aisle. I walked to the aisle eventually locating the item. Thereafter, I immediately walked to the self-checkout lane. The self-checkout attendant asked if she could help me. I showed her the item. She took it from my hand, scanned it with the handheld scanning device and handed it back to me, so I could complete the transaction. I asked about their return policy just in case this universal product does not fit my device. She said hold on to your receipt and take it to customer service and they will let you know if you can return it and walked away. I paid and obtained my receipt, but I did not see an option to purchase a bag, so that part was unclear. After I paid, I showed her the receipt and stated that I did not see any bags. She curtly said, "Did you pay for a bag?" To which I responded, "Was I given the option for one?" I sensed that this interaction was going in the wrong direction. I mentioned the bag because though I had my receipt, I did not want to walk out with the item in hand. The store seems to be heavily patroled, so I did not want any problems. Unbelievably, they have an option for an electronic receipt; there is no way that I would walk out of there without a paper receipt. I have been to many Home Depot stores over the years, but this had to be the worst. Customer service apparently is not a top priority. Based on this visit, this location is not one that I would patronize moving forward. read more

Before going out of town I needed to grab a few things for home. After being just about everywhere I decided that I would make this a stop on my way home. Dependent on the way you approach this location will make entering easy. But do prepare yourself with the amount of traffic at this intersection. With the nearby business it's like everyone is rushing to get in, but there is no organization to the line. Once you make it through the line of cars you have to figure out which way to go in the parking lot. There is just no way to give you any guidance here. May the odds be in your favor. Inside, use the app to find what you need. You'll be happier if you do this. It'll save you time from having to find an associate to help you and honestly, it's all there, right down to the bay in the aisle where you will find it. Self checkout all the way. Honestly, if you can make it through the traffic/parking lot and use the app inside, this can be an easy run to make. read more

I stopped by this Home Depot to grab a gallon of paint on my way home so I could paint my room. When I got to the paint center, there was nobody there to help. We spoke to employees four separate times asking them to call someone over, and no one showed up for over 20 minutes. Eventually, they sent someone named Mark to assist--but even after arriving, he took his sweet time and chose to chat with another customer instead of helping us, even though we had been waiting the longest. The level of service was incredibly disappointing. If you're looking for quick and helpful assistance, this is not the place. read more

Absolutely horrible customer service. I placed a mobile order due to having 2 young kids in car seats with me. I was actually there right when it said my order was ready for pickup, exactly 2 hrs after I placed the order. I go and park in curbside pickup parking, go thru the app to check in and after over 20 minutes of waiting that included a screaming and crying 3 yr old, I called the store. When the guy at Customer Service answers the phone he tries to place me on hold. I told him no, because I have already been waiting over 25 minutes at this point for my order to come out. He says he's the only one at the counter and working down a line. I told him he had people walking aimless around the parking lot who he could call in for bringing orders out. I then got out, took both kids out of their car seats and carried them inside, with him still on the phone. Immediately upon walking inside, there's no line at customer service, not even a single customer. There's another employee behind the counter, another just standing around completely bsing with the cop that is always there. So please tell me now how this guy is working down a line, and the only one there. Horrible customer service and I will not be back. I'll keep my business at Lowe's from now. read more

After splitting my head open falling on my walkway ice because i couldn't get ice melt at my local Ace Hardware, I went to home depot. As I was leaving the store, my car's key fob battery died and back inside I went. Now, I've always had older cars that relied on keys so I didn't know how to replace the battery. Immediately the security officer and customer service helped me right away, from figuring out how to open the fob, to buying and replacing the battery. The security officer then helped me to my car with my ice melt to make sure the car door opened. They went above and beyond. I highly recommend this store for the help I received there. read more

Worst Home Depot ever the police kicked me out saying that my car was at some other store and report by one of their cameras outside shoplifted without proof. I even told him I was a customer that I can show my receipts on the app. He said he didn't care. He just told me leave took picture of my ID and said I can't go to any other Home Depot. If you are black and planning to shop at home depot in laurel be prepared to be treated like a criminal, on 4/20/24 my wife daughter and I walked in and were immediately followed, I understand there is theft but you can't judge a book by its cover, we are homeowners and professionals, we have been coming to this home depot for years, that will all change from this point on, we will take our business to lowes. Where this doesn't happen, I will make sure to spread this experience with other black people that frequent this place, from what I know the majority of the theft is from the inside, instead of harassing hard working customers you need to look inside, I will be following up with corporate with this complaint and talking to other hard working black people that spend their money there. Do not buy a refrigerator from Home Depot. They offer free installation. They refused to install my new refrigerator twice. The first time the reason they gave was because the doors were on, and they couldn't remove them because one of the doors on the new unit had an LCD screen on it. I removed the doors myself. The second time the reason they gave was because the doors were off. They refused to refund my installation fee because there was no fee. It would have been nice to know that the install was going to be refused in the beginning, before choosing Home Depot. If I had known that they would refuse installation I would have gone with another company. read more

Friday November 6th 2:20pm. Ive been to some rough Home Depots but this was by far the worst. Guy operating the fork lift as well as the flag carrier were the absolute rudest Home Depot employees I have ever encountered. Literally almost ran me over twice and they did not apologize or even say excuse me. Just kept saying "MOVE" to people in an ugly tone. Totally unacceptable and I will not be returning. Im apart of a large business that spends thousands of dollars every week at home depot and ill make sure we absolutely do not use this one anymore. Not to mention they blocked the register and had a little pow wow for about 15 minutes before taking our order. Could have held the little meeting somewhere else seeing it didn't involve the area or cashier... ridiculous On a positive note the cashier was nice and friendly. read more

The entrance to this store is a little flaky - no light, and heavy traffic on 198. You can sneak around the front into the lot for the Dutch Farmers Market and get to a light, or around back to the right past the gym to come out on 197. Somehow my love for Home Depot is on the slide lately :( One of the biggest reasons for that is deteriorating customer service and my inability to find stuff that I am looking for. Used to be a time I could walk in to any Home Depot store and easily navigate to the aisle that stocked what I was looking for. Now, it takes a few twists and turns and retracing my steps to get to that aisle - stuff is no longer in a predictable place and even the staff - most of them anyways - don't know and worse - don't care enough to help you out! We were looking for some aluminum channels and there was a guy arranging stuff not 5 feet away from them and could not answer a question that we had on the channels. When prodded more, he merely shrugged his shoulders and told us to find the right sales person to help and just walked away! Howz that for customer service! read more

The delivery service provided by the company was extremely disappointing. They failed to communicate any issues and installed the range without testing it beforehand. I was pressured to sign a document quickly as they were in a rush to move on to their next job. Unfortunately, the stove does not work and none of the other appliances were installed either. The dispatcher for the third-party contractor was just as unhelpful as the delivery crew. This has been the worst experience and I strongly advise against purchasing appliances from Home Depot. It seems they have not properly vetted their contractors for installation jobs. In hindsight, I should have bought directly from the manufacturer. I will not purchase any other home items from the Home Depot. They will not get any more of my business. I am now without a stove and micrwave and highly regret using The Home Depot to purchase this appliance suite. Invest and purchase from the manufacturer. read more

It's good to know that with everything going on with COVID-19, Home Depot offers curbside pickup for items ordered online. I placed an order online for a lawn mower about a week ago and was notified via text a few days later that my item was ready. Pickup was seamless. They had numbered spots specifically for curbside pickup. After parking in one of these spots, I called the store and told them which spot I was parked in and they brought the mower out to my car, which I greatly appreciated. I was also very pleased to see that they had gloves and a mask on and were taking the necessary safety precautions. read more

I asked them to bring my order outside and leave it in the parking lot as I had tested positive and was curtly told "we can't" before they hung up. I had a very poor customer service experience at Home Depot today. I needed some wood cut into strips. I asked about six men who were standing around the lumber department. They all looked at each other, some just walked away and one finally answered me. He pass it off to who I guess is the head of that section. I could immediately tell he was annoyed and said "We don't do projects." I clarified that I was the one doing the project I just needed help cutting wood into specific dimensions. With an attitude, he asked what sizes I responded and he said it couldn't be done. He told me to find someone I know who has a saw. I will not be coming back to this Home Depot for any services in their lumber department. I'll be going to Lowe's and hoping for a better customer service experience regardless if they are able to cut the wood in the dimensions I need. Follow Up: I went to Lowe's and the costumer service was amazing! He was able to help me cut the wood I needed in the right dimensions. He was helpful and pleasant to work with, even so I gave home a cash tip! I will only go to Lowe's for my futures needs! read more

The worst customer 'interaction' ever! The associates are more concerned about their personal stories than actually helping the customers. I went in to have keys made one evening - I was told to look for an associate in the Hardware Dept (That's where I was standing) then I was told "there should be someone on the other isle"... okay it should not take this long to get (3) keys made! Sooooo, after walking past the lazy guy leaning on the register, he has the audacity to utter, "Thanks for coming in ... have a great day!" Are you freakin' kidding me? I will not be coming back to this Home Depot location even though it is 10 minutes from my house. I will gladly drive to the store with the blue sign (which btw I had a very pleasant experience). The Good: - They now have these handy dandy Need Help buttons in each aisle that will summon one of the 3 employees in the store. As a test, I tried it in several sections and an employee was there to help me within 5 minutes. - All the items I've ever needed have always been in-stock. - Self checkout lanes - quick and easy when you have a few items. - Plenty of parking The Bad: - The layout often makes it difficult to find what I'm looking for - Of the 3 employees, a grand total of none of them is very knowledgeable. It seems all the employees who knew something have moved on. - Self checkout lanes - "Please move your shovel to the bagging area....Please move your shovel to the bagging area....Please move your shovel to the bagging area....Please hold on....Help is on the way." Self checkout is ok for groceries but when you have to fit a shovel into a plastic bag, it's a blower! Actually, take a break and listen and you'll hear a chorus of, "Help is on the way." The Ugly: - Apparently me b/c I can't get anyone to help me out when I'm leaving the store. Less traffic and better parking here. What can I say? This particular Home Depot is my home away from home. I spent so much time there working on home improvement projects that I know many of the managers by first name, and they recognize me as "oh my god that girl's back again." Customer service is hit or miss - there are days when I have nothing but absolutely fantastic service from everyone on the floor, and other days when I want to throat punch people. On the whole though, obviously I keep returning to this Home Depot. It is clean, well lit, I love their clearance prices, and on the whole people are usually genuinely very nice. read more

I ordered a wash tower on 12/23/21 and received the device on 2/17/22, after five attempts. There is a disconnect with communication between the store, online and delivery service. I miss brick and mortar stores as it appears corporate companies are missing customer service etiquette. Should you decide to contact the store and speak with Gail, she'll say the managers are unavailable or not in and they'll be at the next register. I witnessed her telling a customer such, and the managers were on the floor. After all of the mishaps, I had to track down the managers for assistance by calling and visiting the store several times after I was told I would receive compensation for the inconvenience. I also have damages to my stairs from the delivery, which the delivery person stated were preexisting. There is a safety concern as you'll need to request to view the delivery service's badge as I was told it's in the car. I proceeded with the order due to the delay in shipment of the machine I desired. Otherwise, I would have gone to another company. Try another store before ordering any major appliances from the company. It's not worth the hassle. read more

Jesse sent me a message through Yelp stating that he wanted to resolve my pricing issue. And did he ever! Found what I needed easily and self check out was a breeze.

I went to homed depot to rent a truck after Budget screwed up my reservation. There were 4 people behind the customer service table, but only one or two were helping customers. I was 3rd in line when I walked in but still ended up waiting almost 20 minutes. When I went to set up my truck rental, the system started "acting up." Apparently they had just changed it the day before. The woman at the desk didn't know what else to do, so she entered and re-entered my information about 10 or so times. Another 20 minutes later, the system lets her process the rental and she hands me the keys. First, I couldn't find the truck. It was in the middle of the parking lot, between regular cars, and there was no key fob, so I had to walk up and down the aisles looking for it. I finally find it and it's FILTHY. But I was just happy to have a truck. I go to take the truck home and the battery is dead. I'm thinking they must be kidding. I go back to the help desk and they tell me I must have the wrong truck, even though the key opened the door, even though you originally said it was the last truck left. They follow me out to the truck and of course, the battery is dead, and they don't think I should risk jumping the battery because it might just die again later. By this time, my family had already left me, so I had to wait for someone to come pick me up. So over an hour wasted, and still no truck. read more

I went in to exchange a faucet because my wife did not like the color given some new granite we had installed. Gotta love running to Home Depot at 8 PM to get a new faucet to be installed the next day. No issues getting a refund and the representative was very nice. No wait either which was very surprising. While looking at other faucets in the store I was greeted by four representatives who asked if I needed any assistance. This was a much different experience than what I had in the past where I had to look for people and wait several minutes to get any help. I'm glad to see things have changed and the store has become the standard Home Depot that I'm used to. read more

There was no one at the paint counter for the longest time, then when he showed up, he wouldn't give me any information and rushed off to ... nowhere. This past Tuesday i had a job down in Laurel. Went to home depot as usual to get the parts that i needed. I didn't have much luck finding the faucet parts my self that i needed so i ask for help. The two plumbing department associates spend more time telling me how their online and catalog systems are wrong and they don't have the part i need in stock than helping me look for it. While i was getting attitude from them that they know for sure they do not have the exact part i found it right there on front of them. When i was leaving i thanked them for not helping me and this is a what i got in response "you are welcome for nothing thats what we are here for" So do your self a favor and go to Lowes!!!! read more

Longtime Home Depot customer, still remember when my mom worked in the paint department 10-15 years ago. The Laurel Home depot leaves much to be desired. They have everything I can think of, you can spend hours in there. Biggest complaint is that the employees tend to be helpful, but may not have had the training they need in their particular section. Basically, they all seem new. Like just started working a week ago new. Worst customer service ever was today. Spent my Cinco de mayo digging up dying flowers and bringing them back to Homedepot. Bought two weeks ago about $50 worth of pegonias, amongst two carloads worth of mulch, flowers, grass seed etc. Called ahead of time, as i didn't have my receipt and was told that was fine. They could pull my receipts using my credit card. Get all the way to the store to find they 1) could NOT find my receipt, 2) were sold out of the flowers i originally bought, and kept INSISTING i paid much less for the flowers, i.e take about 20 bucks for 50 dollars worth of flowers (4 for $10 deal...WHAT??). I only asked for a fair trade/store credit on what i'd bought and i DID NOT WANT THE SAME FLOWERS that I'd bought and had die on me. The customer service woman kept insisting i take the 4 for $10 dollar deal and after repeatedly telling her no, asked to speak to a supervisor. My daughter had to goto the bathroom, so when i got back i was pretty ticked at teh 30 minutes I'd already wasted trying to do a simple trade on bad flowers. Obviously i made too big of a deal because when i got back the "garden supervisor" comes over to let me know that there was no guarantee on annuals. I just looked at him and told him how ridiculous this whole thing was and that i was leaving. Left the dead flowers there and got NOTHING in return. Not one dime will Home Depot get from me again. They completely wasted my gas, my time and my money. I left Home Depot really upset over the situation. Called the store number to speak to the manager and got the run around for another 10 min. Just left to sit on hold. "Robbie" picked up the phone twice and was able to finally connect me to Mr Mark Snyder. For some reason as i got transferred to and fro on the line, no one knew the manager on duty or his last name. ???? Completely bogus. Spoke to the manager and after giving him my card number over the phone, he was able to pull up all my transactions in about a minute. He apologized for the trouble, but why is it that the customer service people could not do what they should be trained to do? For the rest of my summer needs I will look elsewhere. Disappointed by lack of service across the board, but realize that Homestead Gardens, Ace hardware, Lowes and Walmart are much too close to spend your hard earned money getting the run around. read more
