This Home Depot can be a hit or miss. The staff is friendly but it seems like some don't know what they are doing. I went in there to buy a patio table the other day. I brought the display on the table to make it easier for them. I had to return the display, and then go back and get it for the clerk 2 times. After waiting 45 minutes for them to bring the table to the customer service area, I had to leave because they were still having a problem finding some one to locate it. When I went there a couple of days later to get the patio table they were sold out and not available in any Home Depot store in the area. Their loss because I went somewhere else for a similar version. read more

Wow! Great customer service here! I came in around 8 pm on a Saturday with my doggy. She and I were on a mission to get supplies to build something for my craft room. We needed PVC pipe, dowel rods, and connectors. As soon as I found the pipe, I needed it cut in half. A newer employee helped me out and sawed it in half- he wasn't sure where the dowel rods were but found me someone who could help! In comes Lance(spelled wrong-sorry) he asks me what I'm looking for and directs us (the new employee as well to show him for future reference) where the dowel rods were. Then I ask him if he could help cut holes in the pvc pipe for me as I didn't have a drill at home and was going to hammer some nails in and hope for holes. Well he got to work! I needed 10 holes on each side of the pipe times 2! I didn't leave there until about 9:50. He had to help another customer at one point but gave the job to another employee that helped finish it. They really went above and beyond their job description. I left with a fully, ready to assemble vinyl holder. He even helped me put "legs" on the bottom! There was another employee making keys that gave great encouragement and was great to be around (pet my doggy) and was all around a nice person to be around. At the end, I needed one thing for my shower and he even helped me with that- thank you so much Lance! Great job hiring a fantastic staff, Home Depot!! So glad to have gone here tonight! Terrible service. You can never find anyone when you need someone. I waited 20 minutes at millwork and even the service desk had problems contacting someone. No one never showed up so I had to leave and try a better Home Depot. I only go here because certain things I can't find at Lowe's but Lowes seems to have a lot better service. read more

Not a big fan of home depot. Went there on 2 occasions. Everyone stares and know one wants to help you until you go up to them and say can u help me. I was looking for insulation tape, and was told by three different people to go to three different areas and couldn't find it. I stumble upon it on my on in the plumbing section. They only had one size, so spent extra on tape. The extra is still at home. And why instead of helping you because you are right there, they call someone else to help you. SMH read more

I waited in line for 10 mins watching three people help one person. I am finally helped only to have to cashier walk away mid helping me to help another cashier. Finally after another 15 mins I was told they couldn't help with my return because they have no money. Superb customer service. read more

The staff are mostly nice and helpful if you can locate them. Inspect your purchases well. I bought spackling and it was half gone, dried out and moldy when I opened it. Another time one of the employees hit on me. I politely brushed him off and headed to the check out. While I was checking out he came back and continued to bother me. I finally had to bluntly tell him I am married with children, leave me alone. So awkward and unprofessional! read more

Sorry but the location's customer service floor reps are Hit or Miss. Folk are easy to find some days, harder others. I go because it's close, though I could drive to Lowes. Only reason I haven't changed completely is because i've gone so much, i know where 90% of what I need is located. read more

Forgot I already had an account here...never posted anything 'til now. Anyway, I usually visit this location whenever I need home improvement stuff, as it's the closest store of this kind to me, and have generally been satisfied every time. Last night I needed to get some paint/supplies for a house painting job. Had an employee greet me at the entrance and ask if I needed any assistance (I politely thanked him and said no; pretty much knew what I needed and where to find them). Found everything I needed inside of 5 minutes and proceeded to self-checkout, where a very sweet young lady named Lisa assisted me, unprompted, the whole way through. I did have quite a few items (yeah, I know, but I always prefer self-checkout), so it was a tremendous help. I can't overstate how pleasant and helpful she really was; those qualities truly do make a difference/impact. Sure, all customer service ostensibly is supposed to be that way, but we all know that just ain't the case. Thanks again, Lisa. read more

Long time happy Home Depot customer. I was however very disappointed at this location. We flagged down a total of 3 employees and waited 25 minutes for assistance. The 3rd employee gave us the impression we were bothering her by asking for a little help. I actually had to call the store (while standing in the isle still waiting) and let them know I was still there. I have to say, the customer service is a nightmare if you're trying to buy what you need and get out. read more

I purchased a high end appliance from this store back on labor day weekend. It was delivered promptly but I was not their to receive it so when I got home I realized they had delivered the base model instead of the model I ordered. Almost a month later after repeated calls with the store and home depot corporate I finally get my stove. I had to call several times to check on the status because nobody from the store was calling me and when I finally got a hold of corporate the assistant manager took it upon himself to get my problem resolved. Once he took over I thought all would go well but it still took two weeks just to get me my stove and get the wrong stove taken out of my living room. If it wasn't bad enough that I had to wait a month for a stove that I had already paid for in full, the "maximum compensation" that they promised me turned out to be a $75 gift card with Home Depot, about 5% of the purchase price of the stove. Needless to say they handled the whole ordeal in the worst possible way and they lost a customer for life. read more

Came to buy a specific flower for my sister's garden and interacted with 3 people. We asked one man if he could help us. He didn't work in that department but then asked Kevin who actually worked in the nursery department. Kevin said "Am I supposed to know every plant we have in the store". Finally ended up getting assistance from a nice gentleman who didn't even work in the nursery but saw we were struggling. I wouldn't recommend coming here if you actually want some assistance. read more

I called up this location to find out if they had a faucet that was on their website in stock. I gave them the item number and they verified they had 3 in stock; so I jumped in my car and drove all the way from home in DC approximately 30 miles only to find they had one in stock that was opened, and it appeared to be missing parts. Customer service was of no help, I wound up having to go to Lowe's and pick up something similar. I hate that they wasted my time and gas. read more

This home depot sometimes has less stuff than the one in Silver Spring or Columbia. It is never packed though and the staff have been very helpful to me when I was looking for the help. read more

I have shopped here since we moved to Laurel from NYC in 2008. What a great garden center. Wonderful staff, always friendly, ready to help and load in. Gary who I think is the manager is friendly and on point. Excellent and friendly service. My experience with the whole store has been similar - very friendly helpful people - perhaps it's a reflection of good management! read more

OK, I did not work for Home Depot, but I did interview. Here is the ridiculousness that went down with these "professionals": I filled out an online application for the position of Department Manager "Kitchen and Bath". I was contacted via phone a few weeks later and some phone rep did a "over the phone" questionnaire with me. It was obviously HR 101 time! The Home Depot phone rep couldn't even properly read the questions. Nor could they accurately document my answers, I had to repeat my answers a few times for this person to understand and they were putting the wrong words into my mouth. It was actually fascinating to experience. After the questionnaire I was informed that if Home Depot was interested in interviewing me, they would contact me. Fair enough. I was contacted a few weeks later to come into the Laurel MD (Laurel #2571) for an interview with HR. This came from their "automated" system. The interview was for Sept 5th, 2015. I called a day before to confirm. Friday, Sept 5th I was on time for my 12 noon interview. GUESS WHAT? They had no idea I was coming! The HR Director took the day off and didn't tell anyone I was coming! (I confirmed with staff, she didn't call out, but planned on taking the day off) OK, mistakes happen. Jeffery the Assistant Manager took the time to interview me. He was honest enough to tell me he never interviewed anyone before for "Department Manager". We went to the HR Director's office and low and behold there was my resume sitting on her desk. He read off some questions and I answered them. Quite ridiculous! He explained that the store manager will be back on Monday from his vacation (Labor Day) and that a decision will be made on Tuesday or Wednesday on filling the position. I confirmed that the store manager will be back Labor Day since that sounded a little odd, Jeffery confirmed. I thanked Jeffery for his time and left. I waited until Thursday and gave Home Depot a call. This is what happed: Me: Hello, my name is D***** M*****, I interviewed for the position of Department Manager "Kitchen and Bath" this past Friday and I am just following up. HR Manager: That position is currently open Me: Uh, yes. That is why I am calling you. I already interviewed for the position. HR Manager: We have not made a decision on that position. Me: Oh, OK. I was informed by the Assistant Manager that a decision was being made this week. HR Manager: Maybe you need to talk to the Assistant Manager? Me: I'm sorry; I thought I was talking to the HR Manager. HR Manager: This is the HR Manager. Me: HI, can I get your name (this is fascinating; she did not want to give me her name!!!! She mumbled sometime and tried to say hang up! I asked again and she would not give me her name!) How professional is that! I called the main Home Depot HR number to complain but they could have hardly cared. They just said they were sorry for the unpleasant experience. My opinion of Home Depot: * HR 101 questions: They are too big to recognize an individual human * Insecure HR Managers * Poor HR communication * Basically very unprofessional Best work with someplace else. read more
