I went in today around 11:30 am to the lumber department and was helped by Jordan. He found the wood I was looking for and cut it down to size. He even found me a less expensive piece of wood than I was going to originally pay for. Thank you Jordan! He was extremely nice and professional. We ordered our in stock cabinets, were emailed to pick them up, I called in to check on the time the day before and was told to call 2 hours before to make sure they were ready. Day of pick up I called to make sure they were ready and we were told no and we would get a call back. 2 hours later no call so I called backed and was passed around for 40 minutes put on hold and thrown back on the line. All these associates do is ignore the customers even in the store they see you lost and struggling they all just walk fast pass you and ignore you, they should literally only hire 2 people for the entire store as the other ones aren't doing shit. read more

My experience with this HD has been excellent. I've been here about a dozen times and probably spent well over a grand on random things. The place is huge, so it can be tricky to find things there. The employees are generally helpful and friendly. Sometimes you do have to make an effort to grab one when they just open or are about to close. The hours vary but this store opens at 6am on weekdays and closes at 9. read more

I recently started a home remodeling project that had me running back and forth to Home Depot. Every time I had a question or needed some type of assistance I was able to talk with a Home Depot staff member for help. Additionally, the classes offered by this Home Depot staff has continued to allow people like myself the opportunity to learn about do it yourself projects such as; drywall, plumbing, flooring, etc. I would recommend this to anyone whom is looking to build up their home improvement skills. Finally, I would like to mention the continued appreciation that I have for the entire Home Depot staff as a whole. The ladies who assist in the return department, as well as the gentlemen who always help me load items into my car all play a huge role as to why I go to this location over and over again. For my views on going to Home Depot on a whole see review of Thomas road...but in brief it is largely about the people. I specifically come to this HD for John in Millworks. He is willing to talk through options, build up several different doors on their system which does not seem all that efficient, just so i can price all the different brands, in multiple different styles and ultimately save $4...I've gone through this process with other associates at other HD stores and I found they wanted me to buy the first door they tediously virtually built. So good experiences with John have kept me coming back. Since I don't know John's schedule I have worked with JC a couple of times and also found him helpful. The only problem with this store seems to be customer service crew...which on special orders like doors and windows I ALWAYS have to deal with. They have never impressed me, which is unfortunate. read more

I have spent over $40K at this establishment. But lately their customer service was bad. One guy got really shitty with my wife and made a insulting comment to her when she asked a question. Then then they started to argue. He was a older guy and came across as a chauvinist. I over heard them but I don't think he knew I was around and when I showed up his demeanor changed. I can very close to punching this piece of shit in the mouth. I didn't report it and I had to leave. Then a few months prior I needed to get my sliding glass window replace cause it was still under warranty. I went to ask for help in their doors and windows department to get a number to the company that installed them. I ended up taking to this very rude dike bitch who didn't like men. That was the vibe I was given. She didn't help me at all and was just annoyed with me. I went back several times and kept on getting the same bitch. I finally was able to get the number of the company who installed them through Home Depot but it wasn't her that helped me. After the older man, on the date of 08-02-2019, was being an asshole to my wife. I will never shop at Home Depot again. I went to Lowe's on Thunderbird and I tell you they have great customer service. Actually good customer service to me is someone not being a dick. If I could give zero stars I would. read more

I just had a terrible experience at the paint counter. I needed to color match paint so I used a knife to cut out a one inch sample from the wall and peeled it off. When I got to the paint counter the employee was having trouble getting the computer to scan the UPC code of the paint he was trying to mix for the customer that was in front of me in line. Instead of just typing the UPC code in or calling someone for help, he messed the with computer for a few more minutes, and then decided to try another computer. That one wouldn't scan the UPC code either. He messed with that one for a few more minutes and then decided to go back to the original computer. He messed with that one again for a few more minutes and then it must have finally dawned on him that he could just type the UPC code in, and like magic, it worked! Then he came asked me what I needed. I gave him my paint sample, which had paint on one side and the cardboard backing from the wall that I peeled it off of. He flips the paint sample over to the cardboard side and starts asking me questions about how much I need, and the finish I wanted. I realized that he was looking at the wrong side, and I thought "how does this guy not realize that he's looking at cardboard and not paint?" I told him to flip the sample over and he said "oh, you want to match that side?". Well, duh, I wasn't trying to match the cardboard backing. Then he wanted to know what finish I wanted. I said I wasn't sure. He said "well, we can't guarantee the right finish if you don't know what you want." I said, "well, I'm not sure. Can you tell what what you think it is?" In a strong tone, like he was annoyed with me, he said, "m'am, I just told you that you need to decide the finish by yourself." I said, " I'm here because you are supposed to have some expertise in this, and I'm looking for help." I just wanted him to help me make an educated guess, but considering that he was looking at the wrong side of the paint chip to begin with, I decided it would be best to go elsewhere. I went up to customer service and informed them that this man was rude and clearly didn't know how to do his job. Then I went to ACE hardware over on Tatum and Thunderbird. I was helped immediately. He also told me he couldn't guarantee the finish, but he was willing to help me make a good guess, and he even suggested that I take the paint chip and the card with all the finishes on it out into the parking lot in the sun to see them better, which I did. That's all I wanted, was a pleasant attitude and some help! And I got it here! read more

I had no kitchen for over one month because of how terrible they schedule and handle their installations and cabinets. I still have cabinets that are not completely aligned and going to Home Depot was the worst decision I ever made. I learned my lesson I would never ever do another investment property using Home Depot. and once I called to tell him how unhappy I was and that I was not going to get my granite things became worse even slower and I had no kitchen for one month and their cabinet installer refuse to put a hole from my kitchen sink to the dishwasher stating it wasn't his job. I don't even know what to say about all of this all I know is if I could turn back time I would do it all again without Home Depot read more

I shop at a lot of Home Depots, and this in particular was one of my regular spots, but the folks at this location have a lost a customer tonight over their poor service. We were shopping there for a few small things and after we left, purchases in hand, we found our battery dead in the parking lot. Figured it would be no big deal to get someone from the store to help, but wow, apparently I should have tried asking for a kidney instead! First we tried the customer service counter. Seemed logical, but after waiting our turn, the woman at the counter told us that they don't have a jump pack or anyone there that can help, but to try walking down to tool rental and ask in there. Fair enough, or so we thought, so we walked (I kid you not) the 100 yards or so down to the extreme opposite end of the store as instructed. In tool rental, we find a single employee and literally nobody and nothing else going on. This was almost 7pm so you'd think, with nothing better to do and nobody returning tools, maybe this gentleman could help? Nope. He informs us that they don't have any means to assist either, suggests customer service (no lie!) and, when I mention that they sent us to him, he opines, "We told them to stop doing that." He also offers that he would "help a brother out" but he rides to work on a bicycle. Am I really that unlucky? You can't make this stuff up folks. Sigh. Back to customer service, walking 100 yards in the direction we just came. On our way there, we walk past an employee that is, at 2 miles an hour, returning one of the motorized scooters to its resting place by the front door, adjacent to customer service. More on that in a second. So we get back in line, wait our turn and then tell the same woman that we got sent back from tool rental, as they could not help. She then asks the employee who by now has caught up to us and parked the scooter, who turns out to be a manager at customer service. Now you think a manager at customer service could help in this situation, yes? Alas, you'd be wrong. She informs us that there's no means to help. I ask if she can get someone to jump us real quick, and she begins to explain that she can't "take someone off a register" or anything else to have them help us, because they're supposed to be working. This despite the fact that 10 feet away from us, written on the door, is a sign that says they will gladly come outside to help a customer with loading and so forth. So just to be clear, if I wanted someone to spend 30 minutes helping me load bricks or plants or a tree or plywood, that would be no problem. But if I ask for literally 5 minutes to jump my car, "I can't pull someone away from their job to go into the parking lot." Are you freaking serious? What hypocrites! I'd have completely understood if she'd have pulled company policy on me or blamed it on insurance reasons, but to basically tell me that everyone working there has something better to do at the moment and nobody can spare 5 minutes? In a place where they literally write on the front door about how willing they are to help you if you "just ask" ? Unbelievable. Just... wow. The manager ultimately suggested I try asking random people outside. You know, because walking up to strangers in a parking lot, after dark and in that kind of neighborhood makes total sense. Talk about customer service. We ended up having to call a road side service and getting a jump from them, but not without the requisite one hour wait in said dark parking lot, with no air conditioning. I thought about waiting in the store, but I'm fairly confident we'd have been given grief about it, even though we'd made a purchase. The final irony was that while we waited outside, we watched plenty of employees milling about doing nothing. The guy rounding up carts in the parking lot was so busy that he had time to stop and whip out his cell phone, subsequently goofing off for much longer than it would have taken to help us out. So just to review, customer service at this location amounts to making customers walk 100 yards to the wrong place where nobody can help, then sending them back 100 yards the other way to the original people who couldn't help, who will then ask a manager who can't help and who refuses to even entertain the idea of asking anyone else if they can help you. You know, because she's too busy rounding up motorized scooters and riding them at 2 miles an hour around the store. If I had needed four people to spend half an hour to load a BBQ into the back of a pickup, that would have been doable, but asking if anyone could spare 5 minutes to help jump my car was apparently beyond the pale of discussion. What a bunch of mindless, thoughtless hypocrites who clearly don't give a damn about customers once they've paid for their goods. Shame on you people and especially the manager. I will never set foot in this store again, because if this is how you treat people, you don't deserve another nickel. read more

This is my favorite Home Depot location because it has easy access to and from the freeway. I always grab a hot dog when the hot dog guy is out and I love the fast food choices near by. One of the worst Home Depot's I have ever been to. My first experience with them was about four months ago when I was trying to buy blinds. The employee kept trying to up sell me. I would point to the blind I wanted and he would grab an expensive brand and ignore my request. I tried giving them another shot and I was even more disappointed. I called ahead of time to see if they had a particular flower in the garden department , I assumed they couldn't screw that up. They kept putting me on hold and the call would drop MULTIPLE times. I kept repeating that, as well as everything they suggested I do ( wait for overhead, call the extension directly). Finally I called the same person I talked to and told them they had horrible service and I don't even want to speak to the department I needed. read more

I came to this location at about 7:30 on a Sunday. I was looking to purchase two power tools, and accessories to help me complete a project. I found an employee and asked to check stock on the two items, both of which they had (2 of each.) While the employee was looking, he got distracted by two women looking for have a key made. This apparently caused him to completely lose focus and forget he was supposed to be helping me. After a few minutes he must have handed off the task of finding my two power tools to an older associate. The older associate went back and forth to the same shelf (which the items I was looking to buy obviously was not there) and briefly looked in the overstock area (one section.) His conclusion was that they either walked out the door (doubtful) or "were on a shipment." Having managed retail before - this basically equals "It is near close, and I don't feel like looking." He then offered to look at another stores inventory, in which I had to explain to him that because of the lackluster service it was now too late to make it to the other location before close. I don't understand some people's work ethic. Why abandon a customer looking to spend a couple hundred dollars for a customer who wanted a key made? Why not do your job and locate the items that you clearly have in stock, instead of blowing the customer off because you don't want to look. read more

I'm still pretty irritated with Home Depot a week after my multiple trips to get a new deadbolt and re-key. The first couple guys were helpful, but again I got a deadbolt that didn't fit in my security gate. The first time I tried this a few weeks ago I bought an upgraded Kwikset deadbolt that wouldn't work on the thin security door. The bolts were too long to pull the two locks tight on the door. I had to return that one and didn't have time to do another re-key. Last week I got the new deadbolt home and it didn't have the problem I had before, now the mail locking bolt was too thick. The design was different from old one. It had some stupid twist thing so it could adjust it's length, so... back to the home depot. It wasn't even 30 minutes later but the first guys were gone and a less knowledgeable helper was in the locks & keys. I asked for help and he tried to refer me to security door specialist store. SAY WHAT??? I started looking at the bolts on the shelf. I saw a kit with just the bolt assembly and it looked thinner. He didn't think it was but I found a previously open package that we dug into and compared. Yep, this one matched my deadbolt that fit. So... I know more about deadbolts than the guy working at Home Depot. This shouldn't be. I do marketing for a living. I've changed a few door knobs and dead bolts over the years, but I'm no expert. I shouldn't have to help myself at Home Depot. HD still gets a couple stars because they're not always this lame. Still, I haven't had a good experience at this location in awhile. read more

Worst Home Depot store I have ever been to in my life. TERRIBLE costumer service is an understatement. I went in this morning to get copies of my house key and had to ask 4 different people for help because everyone had me in there on a wild goose chase. First two people were to preoccupied with a dog and told me to go to the middle of aisle 18, I went and saw an other store associate sitting down on his phone asked him for help didn't even respond verbally all this man did was point in a direction. I get to the station and there are clear signs that say "Not a self service machine " then I had to go find someone else who again was sitting down on her phone but at least this one had the decency to call someone else to the key machine for me because all three incompetent store people workers I asked for help before her failed to do there job and either call someone to that area or go themselves to help me. The Home Depot has seriously gone down the drain in terms of employees go, I will never go to this location ever again it's full of worthless sacks of waste not worthy of the check they get. read more

I like the fact that they have nearly everything for home improvement projects but dislike the fact that finding someone to help you is kind of like playing Zelda. The work you have to go to in order to get help is crazy. I went in to look at purchasing some pipe for a project along with some concrete and plaster. The person that I finally found that "worked" in that department didn't seem to want to help and looked at me like I was crazy in what I was asking for. I will never shop at The Home Depot at this location again. A while back I went in to buy a couple of items and used the self check out to pay. The machine asks you if you want an emailed receipt, or printed receipt. It's a good thing that I chose a printed receipt. I had my purchases in one bag, and on my way out the door the lady employee at the door asked to see my receipt. I was taken back because this has never happened before at this store, and I don't think I looked suspicious. Luckily I had my receipt ready, but I said to her it's a good thing that I didn't choose an emailed receipt... and she quickly quipped "oh, we could just go over to the self check out and get a printed one." So, she thought nothing of inconveniencing me and demanding to see my receipt for no other reason than I was walking while brown. I'm Hispanic. At the time I thought maybe I was overreacting. I was offended but decided to not give it any more thought. The other day my husband and I found ourselves at the same Home Depot to pick up some items. My husband is white. As we were walking out after purchasing our items at the self check out the lady at the door (a different lady than before) just waved us on by and was very pleasant, but she abruptly stopped the Hispanic man that was coming out behind us. He had a plastic bag in his hands obviously a purchase. The man she stopped looked clean-cut and I could not see any reason why she would stop him except that he was Hispanic. For employees to be doing this means to me that management must be instructing them. In these divisive times it's sad to see these racist behaviors surfacing in certain stores with policies that target people of color. Lowes has never treated me this way, and I've never seen any hint of that kind of behavior there. We will take our business to Lowe's from now on. read more

We have been doing some house refurbishment, and have come to this HD often, usually with very good results. We stopped in today and were accosted by "Solar City" vendors, behaving like barkers at the carnival. Two of them in rapid succession pushed into our space with their pitch. I come to HD for products, not to be pitched. Shame on HD for letting these scum bags in the store and letting them act like such clowns. Can't imagine doing any business with Solar City, they lost me as a potential customer for all time. read more

I went yesterday to this location to order a security door and there was a sale of %15 on doors and windows but the salesman said no there is no sale for security doors, then today I went to cavecreek location and they gave me the discount, I went back to this location to talk to a manager to verify what happened yesterday and he looked at my order paper work and said that they cavecreek location didn't give me any discount at all and he didn't listen to any word that I said so I not shopping at this location on the future and by the way I am a loyal costumer with this location for 8 years now . read more

You just can't beat Home Depot's selection and it doesn't matter which location you go to. I was in Germany in January and went to a couple of home improvement stores and the selection they have is pathetic compared to here in the US. Service is hit or miss, just depends on which associate you happen to meet. It does seem that they have become a lot more service-minded the past few years. Now there's much less pointing and a lot more escorting you to what you're looking for. read more
