Our family of four had the absolute worst meal here. We went for my daughters birthday and 3 out of 4 of us ordered the $48 ribeye. The steaks were the skinniest, worst piece of meat we have ever had. We actually thought it was a prank at first. So many restaurants are cutting corners but for a restaurant like that to let those steaks leave the kitchen was ridiculous. We didn't want to complain and them think we wanted a free meal because that was not the case. We literally were laughing at how pitiful the piece of meat was. The best I can do is never go there again and I can guarantee the four of us never will. Go to Stoney River next door instead and enjoy yourself and get your money worth. We chose to meet here for Girls Night this past Wednesday. I could not believe this place is in Cool Springs OR that it used to be home to Pie In The Sky!!! Can we say total overhaul?!?! Decor is perfection. The wood floors. The hip lights. The cozy booths. The wooden clipboard menu. Not quite Pinewood Social, but certainly a smaller, surbanany feel of it. They spared nothing. The place was dead. I guess being new, school beginning, raining outside, soft opening phase, who knows? However, the service was overall stellar. Our server was perfect. Handsome, knowledgable, helpful, and not at all over the top. Would give him an A+. Wish I could recall his name. Very, very accommodating. Wine selection is fine. Nothing spectacular but exactly what you would expect. Prices on wine were great. Definitely a refreshing difference between here and the joints downtown. Now to the food: Started with deviled eggs. They were good. B+...Second was melon salad. It was okay. Could have used something more. B- Dinner was the grouper with capers. Too much capers. Still good. Solid B...Someone at the table ordered the burger. We all were lusting after it. It was cooked perfectly and topped with pimento cheese. I mean, delicious. Another friend had the shrimp and grits and said it was fabulous. Portions were average to large. They happily allowed us to split plates and charged no fee for that. Loved that. We aren't that cheap just eating dinner on a school night at 8pm. Honestly, the food was good to average but great for Cool Springs if that makes sense? Ha. Prices were reasonable. So... Let's start with the best part of Honeysuckle. The food is amazing! We definitely went southern when ordering the chicken fried chicken and the extremely amazing meatloaf. The CFC was very good and the potatoes that accompanied it were perfect. I would have liked to see a little more gravy for the chicken but from a calorie standpoint was probably just right. My wife ordered the meatloaf and I will simply say... WOW! Better than any other meatloaf I've ever experienced. The food experience is how we get to 3 stars. Now.. for the disappointing reasons that will make this my last visit to Honeysuckle... and I will keep it simple. 1. We had a reservation and still stood around and waited for 10 minutes. There was an empty table for two nearby the whole time and we were eventually parked there. 2. Our server was very slow. She said she would be right back. After several minutes, we had to ask a manager for our server so we could order. She was less than friendly from that point on. Very matter-of-fact to the end. 3. The restaurant is just LOUD! Fr the price of the meal (And I don't mind the price) I would have expected a dining experience that my wife and I could enjoy together. Instead, we were constantly leaning in and repeating sentences. Our server had to lean down on the table to hear what we were ordering. I think that the bar was quieter than the dining rooms. Bummer. I had high hopes for this new date-night restaurant in Cool Springs/Franklin. The decor is incredible- rustic romantic and inviting. If only the waitstaff would have had an ounce of that inviting nature maybe our date night would have ended on a better note. As my husband and I sat down, we were quickly asked what we wanted to drink and we waited to hear more from the waitress but she turned and left. No welcome, no specials, not even a question to ask if it was our first time [which it was] and if we'd like recommendations... Nothing. So we glanced around the menu and my husband landed on the chicken fried chicken, I on the other hand was lost and ended up just getting some sides. I saw a table with biscuits and had to ask our waitress for some, which after seeing some of the other Yelp reviews they had to ask as well. They were delicious- I loved the sorghum butter! I may have not even had them if I didn't ask for them. They food was okay, very over priced for the quality. The cauliflower small plate was not good. After asking for salt and pepper [i hope you're catching requesting items the theme] it came more to life. We were so excited about this restaurant but it was really disappointing. Next time we will just spend the uber dollars to go ahead to Nashville. The seating in the VIP booth felt special until the service didn't arrive until 10-15 minutes later after complaining to the hostess. The menu was outdated after only 3 months in business. The food was over priced for the quality. The $54 dry-aged ribeye was mostly fat and gristle. The $5 planked watermelon was raw cubed watermelon. To sum up our experience: crushed expectations. We wanted to love it. The manager gave us free desserts and they were tremendously disappointing as well, in flavor and value. We will not return. read more

She is did not welcome us warmly and after she gave us the menu, she left. When I asked her about the specialty ( a menu everyone loves), I was surprised she said... " no, we don't have any specialty "... Huh ??? So I asked again, what would you recommend ???... She don't know what to say... I ordered soup , she didn't asked my other 2 friends if they want soups too... When my soup came, no Spoon !!! Ugh ! She didn't ask if the food was ok, how was it, etc etc.. Don't care! When we ask for the bills, she didn't initiate to recommend any dessert... Really ? She gave us the bill, took a little while to come back, so I give it to another server... Conclusion.... Had not dined at the Honeysuckle. Had heard and seen they had great food but so-so service. But, we had a gift card, so... Had a reservation and the restaurant was almost empty (it was a 5 PM reservation). To start the hostesses wanted to seat us a a 2-top booth TIGHTLY squeezed between two 4-tops in a near-empty dining room. When I asked for a stand alone 4-top, she said, "We are going to be busy tonight and we are saving those for our reservations." Told her I HAVE a reservation. She said I needed to go back to the hostess stand to see if they would change their minds. At first they said no, but finally agreed to give us a table but said "we need the table back at 6:30." Almost walked out. Our server, Brian was great. As to the food, one steak was great and the other chewy, but the rest of the meal was really good. Not enough to bring us back, however. You know how sometimes you just walk in somewhere... and you like it? That's the case with Honeysuckle and me. I love the dark hand-scraped floors, and the rich leather booths that are so cool and several rounded versions... the huge antique bar, really huge... and a cozy fireplace. Add to that thick tables that to me look like reclaimed wood and just for fun a servers' convenience station is the bottom half of an old piano with glass on top. I just like this place. I was in for brunch and had my very first "juice" ever. I had a sunrise sipper with carrots and fruits and all sorts of healthy stuff that was also still tasty. Warning I did not know... if you consume these whole fruit and whole veggie juices, it will kick your intestinal system into overdrive. Attend an art show directly after brunch at your own risk if you are otherwise not such a healthy eater... Public Service Announcement over. (Hey, noone ever told me that!) Brunch also started with some fried green tomatoes and yummy biscuits with sorghum butter. Honestly the tomatoes were a little on the tart, almost pickled side. My dining companion liked that and I know it's on purpose... just not my fave. That's OK, I gave her an extra tomato and I took an extra biscuit... all's well. For breakfast I had breakfast macaroni and cheese... yes, such a thing exists! Very creamy very generous bowl of pasta and cheesiness mixed with breakfast sausage, onions, peppers, and I don't even know what all else. The serving was so large I brought home more than half. We also enjoyed a side of charred okra, another first of me, that was really surprisingly good. I didn't know that I like okra, but now I do! I also checked out a special room they have in the back that would be great for a reception or large group. They took tree branches and strung lights throughout and hung two of them upside down from the ceiling... very cool. And that's really the vibe throughout... very cool. I even liked the fact that their thick tables and slightly "earthen" plates with red mason jars on the table reminded me of Husk... but in my humble opinion after dining at Husk in both Nashville and Charleston, Husk goes too far... Honeysuckle doesn't go too far and it's just cool. I know some yelpers reported some service issues, honestly, we had none. I also like the fact that servers wear jeans and these J Crew looking black and white checked shirts... coupled with the napkins that remind you of vintage ktichen towels... it's just all what I wish my own house looked like! I took a group of coworkers here for dinner. It was my first visit, and it was fabulous! Parking was convenient. The restaurant is beautifully decorated. Our server, Adara, took great care of us. We went earlier in the evening on a Wednesday so the sound level was on the low side. We ordered several small plates: fried green tomatoes, deviled eggs, and duck fat fries. So very good. My main dish was the pork chop with sweet potato-maple flan and a side of the country ham mac and cheese. I also stole a bite of a friend's steak. Guys. Guuuuuuys. All of it was delicious. I had a wonderful dining experience! Went this Friday nite with the husband and my friend. I was pleasantly surprised that we all were very happy with this restaurant! For starters, we got the duck fat fries and the ahi tuna salt stone. Both were delicious! The husband had the burger with sweet potato flan, neighbor/friend had crab cakes with carrots and they both loved their choices. I wish I had ordered differently because I wasn't as happy with the super food salad (more black eye peas than I liked) and goat cheese grit soufflé (underseasoned). My favorite thing was the complimentary honey butter and biscuits! Worth the trip is only to eat those! The beverages were also good and the waiter, Jamie, was nice and very accommodating! I am definitely willing to update this in the future, once service kinks are improved. The decor is great--ranging from homey from the room with the massive fireplace to hipster in the backroom with string lights to social (as in the name) at the oyster bar. There are round booths, high tables, and long low tables...Depending on what you want, try to request that in your reservation. The interior designer did an amazing job here. The food was also, props the the chef of this non-chain, mostly great. The salad, carrots, and biscuits (esp. the biscuits) were amazing, and the portions generous (although you may have to ask for extra biscuits, so good). The exception to this is that the grouper tasted like rubber, oysters were eh. Basically, veggies A++. Meats? Not so much. My main issue here was the service. Our waiter was very impatient with us, literally slammed the check down at the table afterward. It was pretty bizarre, esp. because the tables around us were getting really good service from different waitstaff. Maybe he was having a bad night? I am not sure. The host/hostess were both really nice and friendly, though. The restaurant had a calm ambience with rustic decorations. We were served relatively quickly and the bathrooms were well managed. We ordered the pork shank and the fried duck skin. We were served both dishes fifteen minutes after ordering. The fried duck skin was the better of the two dishes. It was very crunchy and flavorful, not to mention it was perfectly cooked. I also really liked the Alabama white hot sauce on the side because it complimented the duck skin's flavor well. The pork shank was ginormous and I definitely recommend sharing it. The meat was a little on the dry and overcooked side and didn't achieve the juicy and tender flavor I was hoping for. The gritz didn't have the cheesy taste the menu said it would have. We went to honeysuckle tonight for a birthday celebration. For background, we are culinarily inclined having dined in the establishment of stars that included Daniel Humm, Thomas Keller, Gordon Ramsay, among others. From all of our outings, rarely has the opportunity been cast upon us to rate something so abysmally, that we feel it necessary to immediately bring it to light. Let me start by saying that The Honeysuckle Wagyu Rib eye is THE. ABSOLUTE. WORST. EXPRESSION. of a wagyu steak. We began our meal by ordering the deviled eggs and glasses of champagne and prossecco. The drinks were tasteful as were the deviled eggs. This is where our enjoyment ends. In addition to the above, we placed an order for a dozen raw oysters (Beausoleil and Mere Pointe). The oysters themselves were tasty, but it appeared that the shallots used in the mignonette were on the sweeter side. While not terrible, it definitely altered the flavor a bit. Additionally, the cocktail sauce was rather bland, in fact the color was more vibrant than the actual flavor. Our main course was the 26 oz Wagyu Rib Eye, split among three people with 3 sides (charred okra, garlic mashed, and sriracha honey Brussel sprouts). The okra was prepared well and tasty, but a few were rather chewy. The Brussel sprouts lacked any of the flavors advertised, however the mashed potatoes were appropriate. The steak itself was cut from the worst section of the cow imaginable. ~50% of the steak was inedible fat, and two bones were actually included in our rib eye. It was not advertised as bone in rib eye, and it was priced at 5 dollars per ounce. Additionally, the bone itself was fragmented and not a true, "bone in." Therefore, the steak was flanked on either side with two bones. It felt as though this was a rather cheap way to serve "26 ounces" of steak. The steak had no flavor and was unevenly cooked (we ordered medium rare). There was a lack of salt and pepper which left it extremely wanting. Let me remind you, that this particular cut of meat was 130 dollars. Let me also remind you that we have had wagyu steaks more times than I can count. I would not, under any circumstance, recommend this cut at Honeysuckle. A truly delectable wagyu experience does have fat content to it, but it's cooked in a manner that the steak itself melts in your mouth, like butter. The Honeysuckle steak was more like lard and settled like a brick. The fat did not melt. The fat nearly broke my teeth with how difficult it was to chew. One should never have to saw through a wagyu steak. Covid has introduced a lot of trouble for restaurants, not the least of which are staffing issues and supply line demands. If this is actually what is available, and I were the owner or chef at Honeysuckle, I would personally refuse to serve it and remove it entirely from the menu. It is a disservice to the cow as well as the people eating it. In terms of supply lines, we were also denied appropriate desert and wine, both of which apparently, "ran out," despite the fact that it is a Sunday and we were some of the first people there for dinner. Covid has done many things, but this goes beyond and are mistakes that the restaurant needs to own up to. In total, our meal was nothing more than money thrown out for the sake of indigestion. read more

Leave the kids at home, make your reservation a couple weeks ahead, and secure your spot in the heart of Franklin's food lust. Whether on a date or out with friends, you will feel the romance, because the chef and owner here make sure every bite of food is treated with deep love and reverence. This is no fern bar, this is no Ruby Tuesday. This is a truly well-thought-out independent restaurant, with a focus on meat and seafood, and a rustic-modern eco-friendly ambiance. Our group sat in the u-shaped booth behind the hostess stand, where it was quiet except for our own voices, despite a beautiful view of the guests at the bar snacking and drinking on Valentine's Day. The feel is dim and intimate, with a light spirit used to decorate with upside-down twinkle trees, and reclaimed wood. Even the dry-aging room is lined with beautiful bricks of Himalayan salt, which seasons and ionizes the steaks and chops to perfection. Our children enjoyed some burgers made from Kentucky-raised wagyu beef. Wagyu is "genetically predisposed to intense marbling and to producing a high percentage of oleaginous unsaturated fat. The meat from such wagyu cattle is known for its quality, and commands a high price." For that flavor at under $20, the beef is a special treat. I enjoyed a New York strip that could easily have been mistaken for a filet, because it was tender and flavorful from being cooked sous vide (in its own juices in a bag in warm water) before being thrown onto a lava-hot grill to finish. In fact, most of their veggies are cooked this way, and need little seasoning because the cooking method brings out the great flavors already present in food, and it doesn't strip their nutrients, either. I wasn't too concerned about the sides, but my steak frites came with a very special treat- the crispiest and best seasoned in-house duck fat french fries I've ever had, and this foodie loves some duck fat. Since it was an "R month", I ordered a dozen of the Gulf Oysters from the raw bar, which also had 3 other types of oysters from around North America, as well as sustainable stone crab claws freshly prepared. The mignonette was not overpowering, and was as much cucumber as it was vinegar or onion, which allowed the sweetness of the plump little beauties to shine. One of our table ordered salt rock scallops, which come with a himalayan salt brick heated, coated with oil, and then she cooked her own 4 scallops at the table. It looked like fun, and made for quite a show, but I'd rather let the chefs do the work. Not that we had much room left for dessert, but my friend, a regular guest at the Honeysuckle, ordered the creme brulee. It was described as "chocolate", but tasted just like brownie batter smells as it cooks. Just a bite or two did it for me, as I finished up a dirty martini. First-timers, early table for 4 on a Saturday night. Still several empty tables in both bar & main dining room when we were seated. Pro: Interesting food, well prepared and reasonable price points for the area. Nice wine list, with some out-of-the-box entries. The salt block appetizers are lots of fun, and delicious. Not a life-altering meal, but no serious issues with the food itself. Con: The table service was just comically bad. No one seemed to be in charge of the floor, and it showed in every aspect of the meal. Made several valiant attempts to get a bottle of wine, only to be told, Sorry, don't have that one either. (Note to whomever: A nice wine list does you more harm than good if you don't actually, you know, HAVE the wines.) Finally managed to get two glasses of wine.....at the end of the meal. Service sequence was like something out of Fawlty Towers....."Inept" is the kindest word I can think of. Our out-of-town guests thought we had stumbled into some sort of comedy skit. And of course, no hint of an offer to comp anything, just lots of mumbled apologies, in between the long absences. In reading other reviews since this place opened last summer, spotty service seems to be a common theme - they just can't seem to figure out how to run the floor properly. This used to be on our short list of "special" quasi-upscale restaurants having dined there several times since they opened for business. The food, the service, and the ambiance was exceptional... "was" being the operative word. After our experience there was night we will never return. The food was still quite good but the service was pathetic. There were so many really troubling issues that I'll refrain from listing them all here, but the following example should give you an idea. After waiting nearly 30 minutes for an order of oysters on the half-shell, a task that should take just a few moments to prepare, my wife approached our waitress who was standing by the oyster bar to see how much longer it would take. As she walked away, a young kitchen staffer yelled after her, "Are you kidding me?!" To their credit, management comped our dinner which I protested was not necessary, but they did anyway. The problem is they can't comp us back our Friday night. We weren't looking for a free dinner, we were looking for a pleasant evening, but their horrible service and staff insolence ruined it. We're not accustomed to being shouted at by restaurant employees and don't plan to anytime soon. Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me. We'll seek alternatives. read more

Offering suggestions and knowledgable about the menu. I Totally recommend the goat cheese grit cake. It was delicious and came in a really pretty presentation. I am taking away a star because a gentleman working the expo window in the open kitchen, who I assume was the chef, was really disrespectful and rude to multiple servers in the hour that I was there. Sitting close enough to witness all this I have to say it really took away from the enjoyment of my meal. Also the Charred Brussels sprouts were very inconsistent- the first bite awesome, the next bland, the third, beyond "charred" and well into burnt. The superfood salad was excellent and quite a good size serving. My family came here for mother's day brunch (Dad made the reservations). The food here has been good in the past, but this visit we found most of it lacking. Already planning another date for here. Friend suggested brunch at Honeysuckle for New Year's Day. It wasn't crowded. It wasn't loud. The music was outstanding. Atmosphere is nice, soothing, comfortable, muted elegant. Sat at the bar and ordered top shelf bourbon. Waited on my friend. Watched the weather turn miserable, but inside, Ole Blue Eyes was serenading the diners. Staff was friendly, place was clean, I enjoyed the ambience. Friend arrived and we got a booth. Waitress brought glasses of water and menu's. No wait. In fact, I would have preferred her hold off a tad, so my friend and I could get reacquainted and catch up with one another.. You know.. chat. I ordered a dish off the menu, but asked if they could reinvent it for my liking. Not a problem, I was told. Friend ordered the duck and Brussels sprouts. We had drinks, no bread came to the table. No rolls. No wasted food. Perfect for us. Our meals came in a timely manner, cooked to our specs, portions were good sized, flavors were spot on. We had no complaints. Only accolades. I would have loved a few more fries cooked in duck fat.. Those were outstanding, as was my sandwich and my friends dish. After I got home, I got in touch with another friend and asked her to come along on another food adventure at The Honeysuckle. I'm definitely returning and look forward to trying other dishes on the menu. read more

Meal was excellent from start to finish. Charcuterie amazing, then pork shank stupendous. Others had shrimp and grits and seared salmon, rave reviews all around. Great server Aria! Thanks for a great experience Honeysuckle! read more

Our server was wonderful. The restaurant was very loud; there's something wrong with the acoustics, even sitting in a banquette as we did. We arrived on time for our 7:15 reservation but were not seated until 7:30. We were told "people are sitting long tonite and we can not clear them." We were not offered complimentary drinks in the bar even though our reservation time was not met. The cauliflower app was not delicious or well-cooked but our table enjoyed the salt block beef and ahi apps. The grouper entree was outstanding. The biscuits arrived when we were well into our entrees. The desserts--a deconstructed apple pie that looked like broken leftovers and was a substitute for the fried peach pie on the menu, and the banana dessert--were poor and we did not finish them. The banana was not cooked. It was surprising. Many different staffmembers--at least four--came to our table and there was some confusion about refilling water and drinks (I was never asked if I wanted a second drink from the bar), removing plates, and providing enough cutlery. read more

Choose this as it was close to our hotel. We are foodies and hate the chains that surround malls. We were hoping for a city dining experience without having to go into the city. The service was great and of the calibre we expected. The food was the issue!Would not go back. I can forgive bad service. Food issues across several courses speak to much bigger issues. 1. Appetizer Fries were cold. Like they had been sitting around for a while. 2.The grit croutons were what sold me on the Wedge. There was not a crouton on the plate. 3.Meatloaf and smashed potatoe were cold. I have a baby. I am used to eating things room temp or cooler as meal time is often interrupted. My plate should not have arrived at the table with the food those temps. I enjoyed the taste. Wish had been warmer. 4.Husband got the aged Ribeye. Was supposed to be med rare. First one came out well. Second one came rare and badly seared. Over done on one side raw on other. No seasoning. 5. Everything but fries were under seasoned. We passed on dessert. I was afraid to see how that would disappoint. read more

This place is seriously overpriced for the taste and quality of the food. My omelette was way over cooked, dried out and extremely bland. The duck fat fries were so bland I don't even think they had salt on them. And the potatoes were awful! No seasoning. You're merely paying for the ambiance here. I will give 2 stars just for the decor, they are on point with that at least. read more

Everything was great, Kaitlyn our waitress was awesome, fantastic service and experience.

We went to honeysuckle last night with friends. Right off the bat our waitress was snippy and informed us she also had a table of 8 so we need to be patient. She ignored us most of the time When we wanted to order drinks and appetizers we had to flag her down. She did come to the table with an attitude. We ordered our meals. I had the burger that I ordered medium rare. It came to the table almost raw. My husband ordered salmon which came exceptionally dry and overdone. Both meals were sent back. Our friends were almost done with their meals by the time ours returned. There was no apology by either the manager or waitress and both meals were still on the bill. Extremely disappointed with the entire experience and have no plans to return. There are to many great restaurants with friendly and caring staff. read more
