In 2015 my husband and I had our wedding reception at Honey suckle. Had found memories here and loved the food. We loved the place. We've returned multiple times over the years and it has steadily declined. Which brings us to Today(the day before Mothers Day). What a disappointment of a lunch. We had reservations for 1:15 and arrived a little early. They were able to seat us quickly and that was nice. Unfortunately it's pretty much down hill from there. We came for Lunch but only provided a brunch Menu. We were told that the kitchen would not serve items off the lunch Menu during Lunch hour.(no where on their website does it state Saturday is a Brunch only menu) The brunch menu is limited and for someone that is Gluten free(not by choice) this was disappointing. We ordered the duck fat fries, crab cake(one 3 inch cake for $26), meatloaf, Nashville hot chicken sandwich, filet, and a salad. All of these items were not blow me away for what I just spent good. I don't know who approved the cauliflower mash to be on the menu but honestly was not edible. Great draft beer selection, and the bar makes a mean cosmo as well. Would be hard not to get an oysters vanderbilt to split anytime we ate here. Very nice. Also enjoyed the strawberry salad. Biggest down side was the service - very poor and extremely slow. Meatloaf was good, though I prefer a gravy instead of a tomato based sauce. May try asking for the chicken gravy instead next time. Wife liked the pork shank's flavor but found it hard to get the meat off the bone, so wouldn't order again. I had an absolutely awful experience, The only good thing about going there was the server, she was super attentive and very sweet and compassionate!! My issue is, THE MANAGER IN THE PINK SHIRT. He was the most condescending, disrespectful unprofessional manager I've seen! He was extremely rude! I don't know how someone like that can land in management! And the steak was way overcooked, I had to return the steak TWICE, I will not be coming back because of that manager specifically and the steak. My mom, sister and I stopped in for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. We did not have a reservation but that did not seem to be an issue because the restaurant was dead -- maybe two other tables occupied besides a private party in the back room and it was about 12:30. We were greeted right away and we ordered drinks and an order of the duck fat french fries. The fries came quickly but our drinks were forgotten until our server walked by our table and remembered that we had ordered drinks and had not received them. The fries were good - hot, crispy, hand cut fries with an Alabama white sauce and ketchup for dipping. I ordered the Fresh Catch Sandwich which was cod. I ordered it blackened. My sister ordered the fish tacos blackened. My mom ordered the strawberry salad. When our entrees came, I seriously wondered if the fish was blackened or not. The fish was pale colored and there was not a lot of seasoning on the fish. Since we had ordered french fries as our appetizer, we had ordered the coleslaw as our side. Both my sister and I received fries with our orders. The manager stopped by and was quick to remedy that issue. The coleslaw was interesting because it was not your typical coleslaw. It was a mixture of apples, jicama (I think) and I believe pickled onions. Definitely not what I was expecting. The color was a reddish color - so it almost made me think it looked like daikon radish kimchi. It was okay. Two entrees, a salad, an order of french fries and two glasses of wine came to about $85 after tax and tip. A little high for a lunch. Overall we really enjoyed our dining experience at HoneySuckle. The atmosphere is beautiful and the food had a local flair that was delicious. Highly recommend the fried oysters and any of the grits. Wow, has this place fallen off. Had some good, even great meals here in the past. Last night wasn't one of them. Food and service--all subpar. Conveniently, they didn't have any of their less expensive bottles of Cabernet available that are listed on the menu. Ordered two apps, received one. Had to ask our server about the second-it had been forgotten. I ordered the duck, it was a single, small leg. Laughably small portion-and the sides were flavorless. Several items our group of six had ordered were never brought to table. Finally, our checks were all mixed up-we ended up just paying for a few of our friends items just to get out of there. Terrible experience. Service was abysmal and food was very average with many in our party having to send back their meal because it was served cold. Spoke with the manager, who never showed her face during the 2 hour plus dinner, as we left. She was not concerned in the least and all she could talk about was the number of people that had been served during the evening. I ordered the chicken friend chicken, the presentation was not great so when I looked at it I thought the worst but after took one bite of the chicken it was seasoned to perfection the potatoes could of used a bit of flavor but overall is was very tasty... Overall impression is that there are way better options nearby and it's overpriced Came about 5 on a Friday and it was mostly empty. More staff than customer and the service was still mediocre. I didn't hate our server but he wasn't good either. Too much of a "her dude" persona for a medium high end restaurant. Meatloaf was pretty good. Brussels sprouts was the star. I was really disappointed with the "hot" fried chicken which was not hot at all and had something off with the texture. Fried green tomatoes appetizer was good but way overpriced at $15 for a three count. With tip and drinking water it was $85. Tupelo's sweet siracha fried chicken or whatever it's called is so vastly superior to this there is no comparison. We had Mother's Day brunch at The Honeysuckle, the food was ok, service spotty, an ok experience. What was bad was for the price ($49 per person buffet brunch) the plates they put out were salad plates, discouraging taking much food so going back was frequent so long lines. The food was ok, poorly stocked, stand in line and a tray of moderately warm food had run out, not worth the price. The deserts were ok, except the macarons were bought at Costco, we saw them at Costco last week. Further, for $49 the price did not include iced tea or soft drinks - really they added for non-alcoholic beverages! It seems the restaurant was gouging the patrons by cutting all the corners they could, this put a damper on Mother's Day, shame on them. Due to short staff, the food was incorrect the service was completely slow. I ordered the shrimp and grits, my grits were clumpy like, the peppers were hard and not cooked correctly. My friend ordered an omelette, they asked for sausage instead of country ham, in the omelette there was a sausage patty and country ham. I've been to this restaurant several times and always had great experiences and wonderful food. Last night my husband and I took six of our family members and it wasn't that great. The prime rib had no seasoning. The steak frites steak was low quality and very chewy. I had the special, halibut, it was way too fishy. It's usually a light flaky, delicious fish, this was not the case. Two of our party had the salmon and said it was delicious and the Gouda grits were also very good. My wife had a couple of colleagues tell her they like this restaurant, so today for lunch we drove down from Nashville to give it a try. We were seated in an uncomfortable booth that tilted us forward. While our server wasn't efficient (he was also serving as bartender and was spending a copious amount time with the one young lady who was sitting at the bar), he was friendly. My wife ordered what was described as a can of Coke. I ordered unsweet iced tea, $4 per. What was brought to us was beverages in small glasses. With ice in her glass, my wife's couldn't have been more than half a can, and she was never offered a refill. I ordered the burger, medium rare+ with fries, $16. My wife ordered the fish tacos with cole slaw, $16. Someone besides our server brought our food, and before I could ask for ketchup, he was gone. My burger was a disappointment. Thanks to the egg it was edible, but the patty was thin, and it was cooked well done. Serving of fries was skimpy. My wife got three small fish tacos. They were supposed to be grilled, and maybe they were, but she said they tasted like they had been deep-fried. However they were cooked, they were over cooked and they were dry. When our server brought our check, he asked if everything was great. I told him no, that while thanks to the egg my burger was edible, it was cooked well done versus medium rare. He said he would tell the kitchen. Had this been a $25 lunch, I might give them 3 stars. However, $40 plus tax for a mediocre lunch doesn't fly. A few months ago, my wife went here for lunch with a friend and loved it. Unfortunately we didn't time it correctly and showed up too late for lunch. My wife ordered the wagyu burger ($19) and I ordered the 1/2 roasted chicken ($30). The highlight of my plate was the bread pudding and chicken gravy the chicken was laid on...Very tasty. Chicken was good, but a little on the dry side. With the wagyu burger I assumed that the beef patty would be exceptionally flavorful and juicy. But it tasted like most pub burgers. We sat immediately as the restaurant was fairly empty thus our waitress had a few tables to manage so completely reasonable that it took her a few minutes to get to us. Not an issue. The issue is the food. We ordered some starters (oysters, charcuterie board) and both were disappointing. The charcuterie board appeared hastily thrown together, the meats were in chunks instead of sliced and arranged. The board came with 3 small pieces of bread - for 4 people. It looked like a board someone would throw together for card night vs a restaurant. The food finally came out. My wife and I ordered steak frites - both our plates were cold. My daughter ordered the salt block filet and our friend ordered the ahi tuna salt block. Each had 4 extremely thin slices of meat. The sides were overcooked/unseasoned. We spent $300+ on an incredibly disappointing meal. Very unfortunate as this spot had a ton of potential but management has let this place decline. Will not be back read more

Love coming across places "by accident", needed a spot to kill some time before a dinner party and stopped into The Honeysuckle. Was greeted by one of the managers and grabbed a seat at the bar where Mary took excellent care of me. Decided on a cold draft (they have a number of local brews on tap) and spotted the oyster bar. Not many places offer a variety of oysters and this place had a good selection so I went with six Pemaquid from my birth State of Maine!!! These oysters have a distinct salty but very mild flavor...HIGHLY recommend them. Just my preference versus the sauces served, when you have high quality oysters like this homemade cocktail sauce and very fresh horseradish really enhance the flavors of the oysters. I have to visit this place again, the dinner menu looks incredible and Mary gave me an overview of the different items. I do know this is a great place to stop for a drink and appetizer, looking forward to enjoying dinner there real soon! read more

I ordered meatloaf, And my client ordered the same. Food took nearly an hour to come out. It took so long, my client just had the staff put it in a to go box, when it was finally ready. It wasn't terribly busy inside either. The food was ok. Server was nice enough, but very awkward due to being severely understaffed in the front of the house, and the food taking so long. The outside and inside of this place is absolutely stunning. I was excited at the anticipation to try their food but was severely let down. The hostess alerted me to their menu being limited because the fryer was down. I took a look at the menu and decided to sit down anyways. For lunch, I ordered a drink, a side salad, and the burger. My drink never arrived and my waitress was absent for me to alert her. Once my salad arrived, I gave up on the drink and decided it was never arriving. My salad was tasty but could have used a dash of pepper which wasn't on the table. (And once again, waitress never checked on me for me to ask). My burger arrived and I was pleasantly delighted at the VERY tasty bacon atop it. However, the meat crumbled upon first touch and there was no way I could have eaten it like an actual burger. After reviewing my bad experience with the burger, I can't help but think that the duck fat fries or home style fried chicken would have changed my review. Why didn't the chef place the oil in a pot on the stove for frying purposes? I can't help but think this may have been a lazy chef who didn't feel like getting the fryer fired up on a Monday lunch day. This place looks promising but I was unimpressed. Had lunch with our friends here yesterday (6/8/22). Our server was Daniel & he was hands down the best wait person we have ever had anywhere!! We were celebrating my daughter's upcoming wedding & our friends surprised us with lunch here (they flew in from CA). We ordered peach bellinis (yum) & roasted cauliflower to start. The cauliflower is to die for!! For our entrees 2 ordered the superfood salad (one with ahi tuna)...delicious!! My daughter ordered the strawberry salad (loved it) & I ordered the Nashville "hot" chicken sandwich with duck fat fries...highly recommend!! (thanks for helping me decide Daniel). Tonight was my second time dining at this fine establishment. The first was with my family and quite frankly I'm shocked I never left a review. Tonight was a bday party for my dear friend and there were quite a few of us ladies. Our kind, lovely waitress, Aria, served us with great care and attention. She was chill, professional, personable and actually into making a connection not just throwing food on a table like some people :). I'm so happy to say the ambiance is impeccable. The food (I had the salmon and grits!) was delightful and I'm NOT a foodie! The lighting, walls, napkins. Everything. Awesome. I'd highly recommend this place to anyone ( ask for Aria. ) Bless her!!!
