I've been dying to try this place for a while now, and have heard nothing but fabulous reviews. While I really want to give a 5-star review, I just can't. Food was good. Service was good. Location was good. But all in all just a little underwhelming for me. I had brunch here with friends and I ordered the brunch burger while my fellow diners ordered the omelet with goat cheese and the French toast. All food was delicious, no doubt there, but nothing extra special or wow worthy. And for what you got all three of us agreed it was rather overpriced. Our server was wonderful - and the location in Cool Springs is lovely with plenty of parking and super easy to find. Nothing bad to say, just didn't live up to that 5-star experience I wanted. Would I come back? Of course. But I wouldn't make a trip out of my way to do so. read more

Short version: Food is good, service was bad. The "greeter" walked up as we were standing at an empty hostess booth, looked at us, said nothing, and walked away. 5 awkward minutes later came back grabbed menus and seated us without any conversation about our reservation. They canceled our OpenTable while we were sitting at the table. Everything was super slow. After waiting an hour for a burger and a vegetable plate in an empty restaurant, the order showed up wrong. Had to ask for ice tea refill with server staring at empty one. Disappointing.. too many great choices in Nashville, so won't be back anytime soon. read more

My husband and I wanted to go out and spend a nice lunch together on one of our off days and we were so excited to check out The Honeysuckle! Our entire order consisted of the following: * Biscuit Board * Nashville "Hot" Chicken Sandwich w/ duck fat fries * Breakfast Mac N Cheese * New Old Fashioned * Honey Bear The biscuit board was okay, nothing too special. Though after reading some of the reviews, I do agree that the biscuits seemed to be frozen and not like the ones my nana would make or even I would make at home. The biscuits were a bit hard when they came out as well. There was not enough butter to even put on three of the six biscuits which, at the end of the day, was good for my husband and I but not a larger party. However, there was plenty of jam and honey to go around. The Nashville "Hot" Chicken sandwich is a complete joke and there's a reason why "Hot" is in quotations. My husband loves everything spicy and he was so let down with the sandwich. I tried it thinking maybe his tastebuds have grown to love more spicy things and it wasn't even spicy to me (someone who NEVER eats spicy food). Even adding some black/white pepper would make it more spicy. In the end, the marketing on this sandwich is not best. However, the sandwich was juicy and warm and the duck fat fries were amazing. The breakfast Mac N C hi heese was good! Overall I have no complaints, it just wasn't something I expected to like! Now for the drinks. My husband liked his New Old Fashioned but it wasn't something he would order again. He said and I quote, "It wasn't outstanding." The Honey Bear was good, very floral due to the Saint Germaine & Honeysuckle Vodka and citrusy. However, I would not order it again due to thinking it would be more of a honey flavor. Ate at the Honeysuckle for the first time a couple of weeks ago for a friend's birthday. It was clean, service was attentive and the menu offered a lot of choices. We were there for brunch, so Bloody Mary's were on our ticket. They did not disappoint. Honeysuckle was surprisingly not busy for a Sunday afternoon, but that worked in our favor as we can get a little loud. Food was very good, service was also very good. I will definitely be back. GRAND SLAM!! This is one of the best restaurants at which I've ever eaten. The place has a very cool ambiance with rustic wood and iron touches. It's sort of like an old English style restaurant, but not really a pub per se. The menu is amazing and very full with one flavorful sensation after another. From starters to salads to sandwiches to entrees to sides, there is something great for everyone. We started with some honey Sriracha Brussels sprouts which were OUT OF THIS WORLD good. They had a slightly sweet taste with a little heat on the back side. Very, very good. I had the Honeysuckle shrimp and grits. It came with huge, scrumptious gulf shrimp mixed with wild mushrooms, andouille sausage and topped with smoked gouda cheese. UNBELIEVABLE!!! It was so good - from the top to the bottom the flavor town train had exploded right in this bowl. I highly recommend it. Others had the Nashville Hot Chicken tacos (very good) and soup and salad (very good). To top it off, when the waiter brought the check, it was inside the front cover of an old Hardy Boys' book!! Overall pretty good experience. Place is huge and decorated very nicely. My wife and I went for brunch. My eggs Benedict were great, flavorful, well cooked and seasoned. I loathe a bland biscuit and these were done well. My wife had their omelette. Sorry to say not so good, bland. Seemed like good concept but missed on execution. The goat cheese appeared to be the "salt" but this was all bunched and early bites missed the flavor. The other ingredients were also bunched up. Service was good. I've been here a couple of other times, but today was the best meal I've ever had there. Frankly, it was the best meal I've had in awhile, period. It was my first time trying brunch there (went on a Saturday about 2:00 and it wasn't crowded). I sat at the bar and the service was wonderful the entire time. The Southern Omelet was DELICIOUS (country ham, pimento cheese and fried green tomatoes), and I had the Southern Banana Pudding. I was thrilled when this place first opened, but I've seen it go downhill very quickly. It's very overpriced and the service is very slow. I ordered a green lemonade with my meal and we had to flag someone down to take our order even though the restaurant had few patrons and an abundance of waitstaff. It then took about 40 minutes to get our salads, no refills on water. I asked where my juice was and I was told twice someone would check on it. I then canceled my juice order because we were ready to leave after being there for 1 1/2 hours and asked for our check. They presented me with my green lemonade. Wanted something different tonight to celebrate a birthday with the family. We started off with an appetizer of salads and fried green tomatoes. The green tomatoes were crunchy on the outside a little spicy provided a nice flavor and probably were the best fried green tomatoes I've ever had. The vegetable plate would've been better if it hadn't had the sauce, The rice and the quinoa had a little spice to it I would've preferred roasted veggies without all the glaze and sauce. The shrimp and grits was very good love the taste a little more creamier gravy than what I've had before but a great taste of Smokey flavored cheese and very filling! The burger was basically just a burger with good fries. The fillet was great tasting as well and Mac n cheese was typical. Dessert consisted of all three for me they offered. We shared the desert between all four of us and everyone liked all the desert. My favorite was the blueberry with the ice cream. Would we return? Maybe but more than likely not for the price and there's so many other places great to eat with more choices. Out of a 10 we would give it a 7 1/2! This is my wife and myself's second time at this restaurant. We actually tried to get reservations at other restaurants but couldn't but was able to here. My wife had the roasted chicken with dressing and it was very good. I had the angus ribeye with Mac & cheese. Ribeye was good and flavorful, did have some excess fat but that is where the flavor comes from. Mac & cheese was good but dry. I like a juicy Mac& cheese but it was still ok. This time we sat in a side wing which was crowded and loud and has a chain restaurant feel. The filet was exceptional! The duck fat fries and homemade ranch was SUPERB! The bus department needs training on how to properly disinfect tables. I watched the young bus boy take a used black cloth napkin that he picked up off the floor to "clean" the table. No disinfectant was used. After he "cleaned" the table the young girl placed drink and silverware on the table. This is not sanitary and training should be provided. read more

The burger with the duck fat fries is absolutely insane. I feel like a million dollars after eating it. None of that seed oil garbage. I literally will eat the lettuce that falls off the burger. It is absolutely insane. I'd say it is more of a romantic vibe inside so I prefer to get it on the go. The servers are nice and will bring you a nice water while you wait on the food. Worst service I have ever had in my life. Food was not so bad but our server was worse than terrible. Here the list of things that happened. You tell me if this doesnt sound like it was on purpose. Never brought us water after we asked for some, told sorry but never got water even though thats what my sister and dad were both having as their drink. Weird how every other table had a bottle on it except ours and we cant even get a simple refill. So I split my water for them. My sister then asked for a straw that never came. We ordered the Wagyu hot stone as an app. Well the raw meat came when our entrees did but the stone came ten minutes later and was not even hot. She forgot the mac and cheese we ordered. Then to top it all off I gave her my food to box up and I asked for one last drink and never got either of them!! I had to go hunt down my damn leftovers. I dont get it. Came here for my Dads birthday and honestly I dont understand why we got treated like this. Worst service in all my life. Hands down. That girl told me sorry at least 5 times but not one time did she fix anything. I spoke to the manager on duty and was told "were a little overwhelmed tonight". Went for brunch yesterday with Daughter's family. Bloody Mary was average and slow to arrive. Raw oyster selection was good and tasty but gosh they were expensive! I had the crab benedict. Again, average. Eggs were somewhat overcooked and potatoes seemed mushy. Wife had eggs and seared okra; the latter was done well. Son-in-law's food was okay at best. Daughter had roasted veggies and she enjoyed them. Grandkids had shared fried chicken kids meal; the chicken was tasty and done right. Overall, just seemed average. I'd come here before, from out of town, but I hadn't brought my husband and I'd told him all about the super amazing appetizer that they cook on the hot salt stone. It's one of those appetizers that just ordering it makes everyone look over with the "oooh what is that?" face. It's seriously amazing and a must have. My son has become quite the connoisseur of Mac and Cheese, and frankly rejects less than stellar versions, but alas, The Honeysuckle passes his taste test as well. The french toast, is definitely big enough for two and was fantastic as well. I ordered the duck with brussel sprouts and Chad, our waiter, was nice enough to offer the Sriracha glaze upgraded version. I definitely recommend doing that. First off, the food was amazing! Everything we tried was cooked to perfection and looked like it should be on the cover of a high end magazine. The service was good, but I was disappointed that we were seated in the bar when we had reservations. The hostess seemed distracted when I told her I had reservations and I honestly don't think she even heard what I was telling her and just sat us in the bar area with other people that were just walking in off the street. Maybe she was getting off or just helping out because the rest of the time we were there she sat at a table in the bar with two guys. We wanted to celebrate New Year's Eve with our best friends and enjoy a nice dinner out so we chose The Honeysuckle based on good reviews. What a mistake! Our server was incredibly unprofessional (greeted us by letting us know he had been there since 9 am and they hadn't "let him eat" all day). We waited forever for our drinks and he finally returned to tell us there were no clean glasses! When we finally ordered we weren't able to sub out several items and when our overpriced meals arrived a good 40 minutes later, 3 of the 4 entrees were lukewarm at best and had to be sent back. Our friends were kind but voiced that we should probably ask for a manager so we did - and the "bar manager" returned. We shared how disappointing the entire meal had been and his only reply was, "sorry to hear that - anything you want me to do right now"? No offer of a comped meal or free dessert or any offer to try to make things right. As we awkwardly waited to pay our bill in full - they were shutting the lights off outside (our dinner was at 7:30 on New Year's Eve). We've been to Honeysuckle several times and have even taken out-of-town visitors. It's usually been so good, but because we'd be without family for Thanksgiving this year, my husband made reservations. But alas, it was a buffet that was mainly brunch food. We were so disappointed. Honeysuckle is a hidden gem and definitely doesn't receive the recognition it deserves. I see lots of complaints about the pricing, and while it is a little pricey, if this restaurant was downtown Nashville, I don't think anyone would be complaining. It's a little more upscale for what people are searching for in Cool Springs but it is worth every cent. It's a beautiful spot for a date or brunch with a fabulous ambiance. Really cool eye catching decor. The staff is sophisticated, although not overly friendly. My one complaint is how small drink cups and generally no ice with your water. But that's petty and can easily be overlooked once the food starts arriving. Now the menu...AMAZING. Out of this world good. I've been here on numerous occasions, on date nights, with girlfriends, with large 20 group family dinners for special occasions, and for business lunches. And I've brought a toddler more often than not, and they've been wonderful with him. (Not always the case in finer dining). The food always blows me away, and I've tried many items on the menu. The sriracha brussels, shrimp and grits, and the vegetable plate are some of my favorites. The superfood salad is another fave- so incredibly flavorful. Plate presentations always impress me every time. Oh, and the duckfat fries and complimentary biscuits with sorghum... so yummmmm. This restaurant truly is an experience.
