I came here with a large group of friends on a Saturday during lunch time. We initially started with 8 people, but grew to 20. The waitress and staff were extremely accommodating despite our loudness. We waited approximately 20-25 minutes after ordering to get our food, but since there were so many people, I would say the service was fast. Really amazing food! The customer service received by Ariana was pleasantly refreshing! I got the Western Bacon Cheeseburger, from the first bite to the last was good! My mom got the Wrangler burger, no bun, and it was phenomenal! My stepdad ended up getting the same thing as me, his reaction was picture worthy because he isn't easy to please with food. We have been in Benson for almost 3 weeks and keep passing by this restaurant. Our last night here we decided to give it a try and boy am I glad we did. I love chicken fried steak, but hardly ever eat it, but I ordered it tonight and it was fantastic. The streak was huge and cooked to perfection. The only reason this establishment is receiving more than a total fail is because our waitress was trying her best to make our excruciatingly long wait for food bearable. Luke warm food, undercooked bacon and blah tasting home fries completed this disaster of a breakfast stop. Two things I can say may have helped me avoid this goat rodeo. First, it was a Sunday morning and I should've been in church thanking God for the blessings of what I do have, and second, the sign on the entrance advertised the need for an experienced line cook. The ham was country ham instead of the normal thinly sliced ham. It was piled on pretty thick too. I wasn't really too hungry and it was plenty. Happy camper this morning! I ordered a bagel with cream cheese, side of tomato and side of avocado. Delish! Dad got a standard egg/hashbrown/rye breakfast and hubby got chicken fried steak/hashbrowns with biscuit and gravy (enough for a doggie bag!) We arrived hungry and left happy with full bellies. The service was great, nice country atmosphere and a good crowd of regulars... always a good sign! The bakery case was pretty sparse, only a banana split pie and banana cream pie... would love to try the other flavors some time! read more

The Horseshoe has suffered greatly since the Covid pandemic years. Keeping reliable cooks and waitresses has truly been their biggest downfall. The food used to be superb. Now we find it mediocre at best, and the hair in the eggs some time ago pretty much ended our desire to return. We are locals that live in the Dragoon Mountain Ranch estates, an influential well-to-do community. We know how badly the small local businesses rely on our outlook and continuous visits, and have been doing so for over 6 years now, but have stopped visiting the Horseshoe due to the hair in food (a good long 5 to 6"), the inconsistency in the preparations and quality of the food, and the now very restricted hours. Service has always been top-notch, but one can tolerate lesser value food and hair only so much before they seek out a new regular diner which we have done. Most importantly is consistency in preparation and quality. That has truly dropped off over the years. It's a hit or miss anymore. read more

On the way back to Willcox after a family day out - read the review and decided to try it. It far exceeded my expectations. I asked if they could make a menu substitution for me, since I don't eat red meat - without question they took the order and it came out perfectly. The staff was pleasant, considering there was a line waiting outside. The prices are very fair and the portions are considerable. Definitely will be going back. Oh. And the chocolate cream pie was delicious. The crust was flaky, there was depth to the chocolate, the ratio between pudding and whipped cream was commendable and best, it was not overly sweet. Breakfast is your best bet here. The food is tasty at that time and the restaurant is most likely open. Because of staff shortages, restaurant closes early on some days; sometimes after breakfast, sometimes after lunch. The lunch and dinner menu are about the same. Grilled cheese is ok. Price for it is high considering you only get 1 kind of cheese. You get 2 slices of cheese. I asked for 1 swiss and 1 American, but they couldn't do that. They'd be better making a grilled cheese with 3 or 4 kinds of cheese and charging more. Rest of menu is pretty much burgers and sandwiches. The Horseshoe has special dinner nights. Fridays are fish fries. Tends to be crowded. Haven't tried that.yet. Saturday is Prime Rib. Way overpriced. For $27 & change get 1 12 oz cut. I asked for rare. It came out medium to to medium well. Meat is under seasoned. Comes with 2 sides. Deserts are very good. We usually do take out.
