Sweet deals brought us back, the service will keep us! CC was our server, and she was the best server we have had in a long time! We decided to share the surf n turf. The steak we got was a ribeye, it was cooked perfectly & tasted great. The lobster tail unfortunately was not so great. FYI, it is NOT a maine lobster tail. So its not as sweet. Personally I did not care for it. Otherwise, everything was great. We also found out that they are undee new ownership & now they cook all of their food in house under an open flame! :) Thet made other changes as well, such as they got rid of the salad bar. They have very cool western decor & she said they have live music now on Wednesdays I believe. Oh & they have happy hour from 3-6pm every day! We will definitely be back :)

Wowsy! Stopped in for lunch after VW show at Chirco. Seated instantly. Drinks served with a smile. Ordered platter to share and whoa! What a delight! Chef deserves a kiss! Nice and clean! Appreciate that! Plus I was offered a drink to try.... Holiday drink! So go in and give it a name!!!! When we head Eastside will stop in!

My Husband and I used to come here all the time when they opened 10 years ago. After the VID happened in 2020 it kinda went downhill and a lot of items were removed from the menu. We had date night last night and decided to give them another try. I am SO GLAD we did. The East Side lacks great eateries and The Horseshoe Grill is now back up in our top 3. Apparently there are new owners, so that might have to do with the excellent experience we had with our dinner last night. Not to mention our absolutely amazing waitress, Jaycie. She was so attentive, hilarious, and really made our experience top notch. We got the bbq sampler platter which was amazing. The drinks (Moscow mule and Long Island) were excellent and the zucchini sticks were the best we have ever had. It was a bit slow but we got there pretty late at around 8:30. I am hoping East Side Tucsonas will once again start frequenting this establishment. You will NOT be disappointed!

Right now, this place is only open a few days each week, as we'd tried to go during the week earlier. Hoping they'll increase the number of days they're open, as they seem to do a good business. We had a very good meal there. We chose the one-trip to the salad bar as our sides. The salad bar was clean with fresh ingredients. The platters we ordered came to the table quickly, were very flavorful (brisket and pulled pork), and tender. They came with Texas toast as well. We got some complimentary hot rolls ahead of the meal, but they seemed to just be regular rolls you could buy at a grocery store. Our server was attentive and friendly. There were tables and booths, as well as a bar area, with the kitchen kind of in the middle of the space.

So many restaurants closing recently in Tucson. Glad to see Horseshoe Grill still is the go-to reference for a local steakhouse. It had been a while since we were last at HSG and decided to head in on a Friday night. It was still the great steaks and friendly service we remembered. It's obvious they are trying to keep their prices affordable and the cost of meat has skyrocketed everywhere, but HSG's steak prices are more reasonable than other restaurants in Tucson and the quality is excellent, so for that alone they earn my repeat business. Same goes for cocktails as well. One thing that has always struck me about dining at HSG is the incredible service and super friendly staff. Oh, and they brought back their killer salad bar, too! That mainstay became a Covid casualty. I'm so glad it finally has been restored. Great unassuming venue for a date-night.

stopped by for drink. has nice small bar. definitely a family steakhouse and has the smell and feel of old school steakhouse. Has some TVs and convenient for watching football on wknds. Prices are what you would expect for a nice steakhouse. Drink prices are good.

There's no one to greet, nor a sign to state to wait to be seated. I saw a server and asked her and she lead me to a table. So, 4 stars for walking in. I was waiting on friend to show up. Our water glasses were filled and our server (Cory) asked if i wanted something to drink other than water (no). The place has a very industrial vibe and is very noisy (4 stars). Friend showed up and we looked at the somewhat limited menu. Cory took our orders. I ordered a (swordfish) fish sandwich with no bread and a side order of frittes (fries). Friend ordered the steak sandwich with condiments on the side. Looking around, one can see through the clear door as the butchers are breaking down the meats. There's a spot to shuck fresh oysters. There's a cooler with sides of beef and pork hanging and aging. along with cuts of meat, fish, and seafood. They had poke, different kinds of fish (amberjack which I've not seen outside of Florida)! There's a lot of wait staff, all in black with no name tags. The food arrived after about a ten minute wait. And the wait was worth it. The swordfish was done perfectly, juicy and tender. The swordfish was served with tartar sauce but it wasn't needed. The steak sandwich was just that, with the meat being steak worthy - tender and flavorful. The fries were AMAZING!!! Cooked in tallow, they were soft on the inside with a crusty outer shell. We ate every last one of them ((5 stars on the food). And 5 stars for Cory who was very busy but kept our water glasses filled and answered our questions. We talked to the owner for a bit. It was obvious that he has a passion for what he's got going on at this place. We'll go back for sure.

I tried to make reservations at another restaurant beforehand known for their prime rib, but they were booked full. So I reserved this place. Upon our arrival we entered the door on the right hand side of the building. We told them the name our reservation was under and they said it was for the restaurant next door on the left side of the building. It was for the more upscale restaurant as mentioned by the host. They have two restaurants by the same name that sit opposite of each other. I hear their counterpart is just as good. We entered the building from the left and told the host the name the reservation was under. The host wasn't as attentive as she should have been. She hardly even looked as us. We were standing there and she seemed to be busy with something else. No ' it'll be just a few minutes', nothing. She was talking with the other ladies. Finally we were seated. Our server was very nice. We decided on two steak dinners. My wife had the 8oz filet and I got the rib-eye both med-rare. Our steaks look good when we received it. But my steak was served rare! It was chewy and fatty. I chewed for days just to get a single piece down. My wife steak was overcooked to medium. There's nothing worse than an overcooked filet mignon! We don't like sending food back for obvious reasons. We've heard too many horror stories, not to mention I use to work in the food industry. As I mentioned, our server was very nice and attentive as well! She constantly checked on us and my tip reflected that! For a $170.00 bill, our meal was mediocre at best. Thanks for ending my wife's Mother's Day on a sour note!

The chops and steaks were juicy, the seafood was plump and fresh and the entree sides were hot and tasty. The bon bon chocolate was rich and velvety. The first thing I need to own is that it's a shame I hadn't visited here before. We arrived at 5:30p and both the bar and patio areas were packed - standing room only, and no wonder. They have one of the better happy hours (daily! 3:00 - 6:30p) - able to accommodate both the slacker and the over-timer Lol. Basic drinks are all discounted such as house wines, well drinks, and beers. Their bottled wines and craft cocktails are all exempt though. Many of their appetizers are also discounted and some quite substantially. We grabbed a glass of the house cabernet ($6, normally $8) and the grilled shrimp wrapped in jalapeno bacon ($13, normally $20). NOTE: happy hour pricing is Only available if you order/consume at the bar or on the patio and that's clear in advance, and understandable. The dining areas were only half full at this early point (but filled up by 6:30) and the host kindly encouraged us to enjoy our starters at the bar as she would hold our table. We were then sat near the "back" of this long venue and frankly, aside from the lone windowed table at the very front, this would be my preferred seating - cozy, intimate, with only five other tables around us. For dinner drinks she got an Italian Nebbiolo Bricco Magno Red Blend ($13/glass, reliably terrific/mellow) and I got the Chupacabra ($15) Mezcal/prickly pear cocktail, strong and excellent as well. We got an additional appetizer: the roasted bone marrow ($19). I had never had marrow before but she raved about how good this can be if done properly (bonus, it is super healthy). Folks, a picture/worth a 1000... suffice to say this was simply outstanding! We both had long work weeks and were craving meat - just a damn good steak. Our waiter, without blinking recommended the 8oz bison filet mignon ($65) as his absolute menu fav, and then the day's special: 14oz ribeye ($50). We ordered each. All dinners come with two sides and we each got the day's special: roasted half artichoke and she got the loaded baked potato while I got the mashed potatoes. Food arrived about 15 minutes later at good temperature (warm/rested with a strong char) with each being accurately grilled (medium and medium-rare). Taste was outstanding. Neither one of us had bison filet before and marveled how it (subtly) added a "wild" edge to an always outstanding, lean-but-tender, cut of beef. The loaded baked was terrific, however, the mashed was the only disappointment... a plainer mash one could not make themselves - pure white and borderline dry, no milk, butter, egg, gravy(?), nothing to make it creamy or add any flavor dimension - a surprise frankly. The only other "critique" is that the dessert menu could add some kind of dark/chocolate concoction. All in all, though, we loved our experience and have decided to add this to our periodic special dinners rotation! Staff was outstanding - just the proper balance of attentive and quiet - and waters never went below half empty. Parking is free and plentiful, especially behind the restaurant (and yes, if you continue on around the back there is another long entrance/exit driveway that comes out the other side of Jimmy John's and Noodleholics.

Where they seemed to sit everyone coming into the restaurant. If the restaurant was packed I would understand but every other room was empty. Who wants to sit along the pathway to the bathroom? Service was so/so. Had to ask for drinks multiple times. But frankly the quality of the food was not worth the cost. Definitely will not be returning, until they revamp the menu to include less French style and more uniquely inspired fresh food. I mean if we wanted French we would have gone to Le Rendezvous or Wild Garlic which are top notch.

With that area of town being so crowded, I thought parking was going to be an issue, but I found a spot right near the front of the restaurant every time.
