Even though the place was hopping, we were seated quickly, and our server stayed right on top of our drinks and food order. Met friends here for lunch for first time. Live Music outside. Staff was friendly and quick service. The place has a Key West vibe. I got short rib tacos and the wife got fish tacos. Both good and came with yellow rice and beans. FL heat so we sat inside to stay. They have limited parking in front of the place and all the other parking is paid parking at a high rate. That is turn off for going into town is having to pay for parking in every lot. Want go shop at a store it's a paid lot. Crazy to me a city that doesn't care and just wants more money. Anytime we go to siesta key this is the first place we have dinner. One because we love tacos and two they called the hub for a reason. Everybody goes there. We got in town about 2:00 got unloaded in the house and then got the bikes and immediately went up to the hub. Because it's kind of post-season at this point the table wasn't too hard to get and actually got in right away. It's unnatural to see people that happy at work. But when you live in a beautiful area like siesta key and you work at a place called The hub it makes sense I guess. The time we were there we were happy to be able to watch the Stanley cup. It was weird they don't subscribe to a music service but they seem to manually run Spotify which is fine by me but they choose Island to music for the most part. I went with my old standard which is a simple chicken burrito. My wife got fish tacos. And since I'm on this weird no drinking kick I wish they had a better selection of non-alcoholic beers Corona for example makes a non-alcoholic beer but they only had one in a beer which is fine by me it's more for the psychological effect anyway. It's very interesting to sit along the main drag and just people watch. They also have a bit of live music there they seem to rotate from bar to bar to bar but it was really enjoyable. Solid place to stop if you're walking down Siesta Key. Service is friendly. The strawberry daiquiris were delicious on a hot day! Food is normal, nothing to rave about. We tried the sampler app and all three options were bland, but the chips were seasoned and tasty. Mahi tacos were great! Birria tacos tasted like cinnamon which was odd... not a fan. The Hub Baja Grill in the Siesta Key Village has some very good Birria Tacos on the menu! Very tender beef and served up with rice and beans. Added a side of the Mexican Street Corn and that was a good idea too! The tacos were very good, as I said they were very tender and the spice/flavor was just right! The rice was okay..the pico sweet, the beans were a little different. Not the refried version that I'm more familiar with...these were a more firm version. I mixed all the beans, rice, and pico together and found that the way to go. Service was outstanding and the live music sound level was just perfect. Love the Mexican street graffiti decor and overall friendliness of the place! My only down thought is that "back home" these "Street" Tacos come as a trio...but as they say..."when in Rome" so we just enjoyed them...they are delicious! read more

Funky Grill in Siesta Key. Amazing staff with fantastic service and a menu that is sure to have something for everyone. Prices are reasonable, seating is plentiful , inside, outside under cover and outside in full sun if that's what you want. This place is always happening! Seating inside and out with ever changing music. Sometimes the local plumbing stinks but didn't notice today. The cocktails are fun and tasty! The food is only fair to me sandwiches American Mexican food. But when you're starving... Tried the nachos and i liked them had chili on them and maybe thats off putting for some but i enjoyed. This place is absolutely terrible. Beware eating here especially if you have shellfish allergies. This could have been a deadly mistake. Tonight I ordered GROUPER tacos and found not one, but TWO SHRIMP TAILS in the first bite. I accidentally swallowed some of the tail before I realized what I had bitten into. Also beware eating here if you just simply enjoy eating food that tastes good. My son ordered the burger. It looked like a month old fast food patty and was inedible. There was a large piece of bone or tooth or something hard in the "meat". This place was 0 for 5 on everything our party ordered. The dishes that didn't have bone or shells found in them were just flavorless slop. The rice served with the tacos is definitely microwave precooked rice out of a plastic bag - no seasoning added, barely heated. Everything was super bland. Besides the burger, everyone ordered "blackened" grouper and mahi and received flavorless, completely unseasoned, TINY bits of fish, and as already mentioned- shrimp TAILS. Not attached to shrimp. Just tails. Multiple. Topped with a pile of diced tomatoes so you can't quite tell what you've got (like actual garbage shrimp tails) until you bite into it. The "lobster bisque" was essentially a cup of cream with a few pieces of "crab and lobster" at the bottom. We left there 4 hours ago and I still feel like I have a shrimp tail stuck in my throat. Hence this review. Our waitress was mostly unapologetic and just avoided eye contact. She knew we were getting scammed from the start. She did offer to have the kitchen re-make the same dish for me after I showed her the shrimp tails, but there was no hope that anything would be better after another attempt from the same "kitchen," so I asked to have the tacos removed from our bill. This place is serving pure garbage and they know it. Our bill for 4 people with the price of one order of tacos comped was still over $120 before a tip. No one in our party was able to eat their meal at all. This place clearly does not aim to serve edible food. Stay away! read more

When we walked up to the entrance we were greeted by an extremely UNPROFESSIONAL and RUDE hostess We were seated and then waited ten minutes to be initially greeted by our server, another ten minutes to order our food, were not checked on the ENTIRE time we ate our meal and waited at least fifteen minutes to get our check. SERVICE WAS SO BAD at our table we had to ask another waitress to help us. Food was absolutely TERRIBLE. Fiesta Nachos were nothing more than tortilla chips and lettuce, chicken was not seasoned and over cooked, the smash burger had chunks of BONES throughout, and salt shakers did not work. This restaurant is only in business because of its location and tourists who don't know they're about to have a HORRIBLE meal. Hire more friendly staff, get better cooks, and maybe look for more help so your servers don't have to run around cleaning table and can focus on give your customers better experiences read more

Went for lunch yesterday. I always get the blackened grouper taco but the smash burger on the menu looked good. It was substandard to say the least. Overcooked no flavor and tough to eat. It's decorated that way and there's enough on the menu that would lead you to think that, but it's not. Too much standard beach/bar food to be a Mexican place. Our server was fine. She was great actually. The music was good. The ambiance was fine. The food was good. But for tacos, the meal included two TINY tacos. Hardly worth $18 for that and some weird beans and some rice. One friend got tacos, another got a burger called The Hub and a salad. I got lobster bisque, garlic bread, and street corn. My friends enjoyed their food very much with one of them loving her salad. I liked my street corn but the bisque was mah. Garlic bread is what you would expect. Decent drinks but they didn't have the coronarita, which was really what we were hoping for. Many of the places in the area have a preponderance of High-Tops, it was nice to be able to find a place that had available tables and booths. We are a long time denizens of the Baja Grill over the years. It is certainly one of the most fun spots in the village, with excellent outdoor seating and live music everyday. The quality of the food is mixed. On a recent day, I ordered the grouper sandwich which was fairly good though over salted, the french fries were mediocre. My wife's cauliflower tacos were decent, and her rice and beans were superior, with a really nice pico de gallo and a green sauce that tasted of cilantro. In the past, I've had the Cadillac margarita which, though a little bit sweet, is pretty potent and a crowd pleaser. There are live musicians daily, usually one group in the afternoon and another in the evening. Definitely an experience not to be missed if you're staying anywhere near Siesta Key Village. read more

I'm sorry to say it wasn't as good as I expected. I do admit I have a preconceived idea of what a Cuban sandwich is like from eating so many from Publix that is different than I usually find in real restaurants. I like the mustard and pickle flavor and that was lacking, as well as the bread didn't seem right. That the sandwich was pressed likely played a role. The sandwich was dry. Anyway, I can say service was good. It was a hot evening and that also put me in a bad frame of mind. I'm still going to give them 5 stars. The Hub Baja Grill is an absolute gem in Siesta Key. My family and I visited a couple of days ago, and it was an amazing experience. The food arrived promptly, and everything was delicious. While all the dishes were excellent, the Mahi-Mahi Fish and Chips truly stood out, with the fish perfectly cooked and seasoned. My daughter and I both ordered the Surf and Turf Taco and the Bangin' Baja Shrimp Taco, which were also impeccably cooked and seasoned. The tacos were filled with generous portions of steak and shrimp, making every bite satisfying and flavorful. The tempura beer-battered shrimp on the Baja and the grilled shrimp on the Surf and Turf were exceptional--no overcooked, rubbery texture here--and the Baja sauce was the ideal complement. The pickled onions on the Surf and Turf Taco added a wonderful flavor with some acid to cut through the richness of the steak, shrimp and sauce. Thinking we might not have ordered enough food, we decided to add the Street Corn on the Cob, and I'm glad we did. It was insanely good, with the mix of the sweet corn, savory cotija, and the delicious smoky grilled flavor. Our server, Cam, was exceptional--super friendly, knowledgeable, attentive, and quick. The atmosphere was a bit loud for our taste, but the live music was great. The guitar player, in particular, was impressive. (He may have been singing as well--we didn't see who was performing.) Great spot for a laid back dinner in the village with some great food! Our server, Dai, was amazing for us. On top of everything, made great suggestions, he really made our experience a great one. But if I brought my passport (which I don't carry everywhere with me) it "might have" been okay. Travelers do not come here unless you have your passport actively on your person or Real ID.
