I came here yesterday. I have always had a great experience at this place, but yesterday, the two girls working at the window were so rude. The person that took my order was snappy and didn't even give my a chance to finish my order and gave me my total before I could finish. I heard her saying that she wishes people would stop walking up to the window to order and that it is annoying right in front of me (I don't think she had a name tag, but she had curly black hair). She said the window should just be closed and people should just drive up. I get that you are having a bad day, but don't take it out on customers. The other girl that was at the window practically shoved my drinks at me (I didn't catch her name, but she had long blonde hair). I'll keep this short and sweet since I've only been here once and I've actually never heard of them before. Ok, let me tell you... I was skeptical and raised a brow at their menu because it's so well rounded and seemed pretty aggressive for a lesser known chain. I thought, if their coffee is actually good, their menu beats everyone else. We ordered a mexi mocha, snowy mocha, and cappuccino. Every single drink was on point! It wasn't too sweet, the balance between coffee/milk/water was perfect, the cinnamon in the mexi mocha wasn't overwhelming, the whip cream on the snowy mocha was light, and the capp as simple as it is, was just right. I totally underestimated them. Plus, the yummy little chocolate covered coffee bean is a nice touch. They close at 9pm and the 11th drink is free with their rewards program. 4-stars because they won me over. Coffee was perfect. Customer service was good. I also appreciate the fact that I wasn't greeted by someone on caffeine overload asking where I'm headed or where I came from (that got old real fast). read more

The Human Bean has finally opened in Rocklin! It's been a long wait anticipating the opening but having finally tasted my first cup it was worth the wait. There are two drive-thru lanes that are configured opposite each side of the building and It's about the same size as a Dutch Bros. They also have a walk-up window. The menu is pretty extensive  (check out my menu pics before coming). I ordered a quad caramel hazelnut mocha which was at an immediately drinkable temperature. Temp could have been slightly higher to hold the heat for a large drink, but this was a soft opening day and  I'm sure they are fine-tuning. The flavor was good with mild hazelnut notes but caramel did not stand-out over the mocha flavor. They also use lids that have a built-in slide lever to keep your drink from spilling which is awesome! Overall, it was still quite good and if you are not looking for an over-the-top level of sweetness this drink is a good choice. Service was friendly and prompt.  A barista even came out to my car to help me (even though there was only one car in front of me). I was also pleasantly surprised that my drink was free since it was their soft opening day. It's great to have another coffee business in the area and I'll be back soon to try one of their many drink options! read more

Being a Rosevillian, it's nice to have another option in the rocklin area. I've come twice, thanks to the recs of Karen K. :) and I've enjoyed both of my drinks. On my first visit I asked the friendly staff what she would recommend and she suggested the mexi mocha. So that's what I got and I was very pleased. I especially loved the chocolate covered expresso bean nestled on top. Great added touch! Being so happy with my first experience my husband and I decided to come back the next day! This time I tried the nf chocolate Mac latte and it too was delish! I drank a couple sips and then popped that chocolate bean in my mouth. Amazing! I also like how their lids have a slot where you can open and close your drink hole without it spilling all over the place. Unlike other more popular coffee spots (who put a green stopper or a blue sticker) to cover the hole to prevent spillage. Human Beans lids are way more practical! I have not tried any of their cold drinks yet but based on previous reviews I'm sure they're equally as good. Being so new there was relatively no line. But I'm sure with word of mouth and Yelp reviews this place will pick up in no time! Keep up the great work and good quality human bean! read more

I tried the java chip which was actually better than Starbucks' version and less expensive to boot. I am not a huge coffee fan--my wife is, but she loves Starbucks and so that has ended up being my only coffee experience before Human Bean. She has already refused to try it. My brother was not impressed with the mocha he ordered, and I will agree that it tasted very different than the Starbucks coffee flavor I am used to. read more

I'm a big Dutch Bros fan but I might just be a Human Bean convert! It's the same drive-thru/walk up concept and there are a bunch of different drink options ranging from fruity smoothies to coffee beverages. Human bean reigns supreme in my book because it's has a stronger coffee flavor. Also the complimentary chocolate covered espresso bean kicks it up a notch. Praise (insert whatever god/goddess here)! You have no idea how much I appreciate the amazing and STRONG coffee they deliver here. I have fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome and most days STRUGGLE for any ounce of energy. Every coffee I get from here instantly perks me up and gets me through most of my day. The extra chocolate covered espresso bean is always a bonus. I love that they offer all kinds of milk (I don't do dairy, and am allergic to coconut, so yay they have almond!). Plenty of things to eat, and even gluten free options. This place has gone from open to PACKED everyday I swing by. I am so happy others are finding out about this little gem! read more

My order is wrong 3 out of 4 times. They don't write the orders down. Instead, they try to remember the size, hot vs iced, flavor, and add ins all at the same time. Understandably, that's impossible. But just write it down! The location is so convenient for me, but Starbucks is only a little further and my order is always right there. read more

I've been here a lot of times and the staff is always so friendly and down to earth! I decided to yelp today because the texture of my granita was perfect! I preferably like my granitas thick and not semi liquidy. Every time I would ask my granita to be thick, its been a different worker whose made my drink, so the texture always comes out different. But today was perfect, so thank you!! Either way though, the taste is always good. And it's worth the money and it doesn't make me feel like I'm paying for an overpriced drink. If I could give a zero I would. I had talked to owner about one of her condescending little girl that works there that refused to make my drink over. So I avoiding going on he side but she then made my drink which I asked the other girl to please make it over I did not want her making it. How hard is it to make a strawberry smoothie??? They lack customer service at the Rocklin location, they seem to be on a power trip. The guy who works there is great. When I spoke with owner she was very nice and said they should of made it over and she had left me a gift card. I went to pick it up and order my smoothy the girl that DROPPED my phone a few months ago said we will no longer service you here for multiple complaints and to go to Citrus Heights. WOW this is how you reprimand your employees. There was NOT multiple complaints. Everything I told the owner was the TRUTH So dont bother with this location. It is quite SAD because all the Oregon locations are awesome and have great employees that know how to give good customer service. I will spend my money else where. read more

I've been going to this place for a long time and I love their coffee. The one star is because they're discontinuing their stamp card at the end of October. Their app isn't user friendly and requires customers to spend more to get their free coffee. Also, they gave me a free coffee card last month because of a wait and then refused to redeem it because I didn't have the app on my phone for the QR code. Really disappointing and not community oriented anymore. You've lost my business. I thought Starbucks was bad. Thanks for motivating me to make coffee at home from now on. read more

Started trying this place at the beginning of this year and really enjoyed their coffee. Sadly we stopped going to them at the end of March since they had a lack of care for the pandemic and were either wearing a mask at their chin, under the nose, or not at all. But, I'm happy to say that they've since changed and have taken a lot more precaution! The person who made my drink today took extra precautions and even sanitized his hands before putting the coffee bean on my drink and I very much appreciated that. The Human Bean has great coffee and it is a bit like Dutch Bro's except they don't have as much of sugary drinks and rather more coffee. Their workers are also friendly but not as friendly as Dutch Bro's which can be both a good and bad thing! Overall, I enjoy coming to The Human Bean and am very happy to see them stepping up during COVID-19. I recommend their java chip granita. read more

Outstanding java! I love the coffee and the service here! The staff is always super friendly and have treats for the dog. the keep the line moving pretty well while making some great coffee. The coffee menu itself is great, perhaps a bit daunting on the first visit. They always have a cool special and are happy to modify or recommend a create coffee creation. The location is a little tight with the two twisting lanes. Price are the same as other local coffee stops. Well worth the time to stop. read more

Pricey little place. Drinks are tiny but service is okay. I don't think I'll come back here any time soon unless I'm in the area. I had tried the green tea smoothie?? I forgot the name but it was gross. I couldn't taste the green tea or matcha in it and it was definitely a bad first impression. My cousin had the Snowy? She said it was okay but the price was high for the small cup she received. The coffee taste was there but nothing special to make it stand out. The girl at the window was hardly a help because when we asked for suggestions she gave us one option to what was popular and when we asked for another she took some time and it seemed like she was just throwing out options. 3 stars for good try. Just left and had the best service ever from Baylie. I watch as the car in front of me, treated the whole staff, so poorly and yelling so loud I could hear them in my car with the windows up! By NO means am I a coffee/drink a day type of Gal, but when I fork over $4-5 bucks for a drink, it better be good. I have never been disappointed here (okay, maybe once, but they made me a NEW ONE at no charge.) The drinks are great, and they offer many options in low carb/sugar free (which IS my need.) Haven't met ONE barista that was anything less than truly friendly. My husband and I saw a line of 2 cars at 1 window, and 1 car at the other window, and an open sign on at 6:08PM on Friday afternoon 4/15/22. We got in the line that had the single car. When the single car was done, we pulled up to the window where the woman said they were closed and denied us service. Our car, and the second car in line on the other side were both denied service. As I pulled away I double checked the open sign, it was still on. They should have turned off the open sign, and finished off serving the pre existing line of cars- but customer service and willing employees are hard to find these days. read more

The Human Bean has provided consistently great service, drinks and food. The staff is always smiling and they remember your order if you've been there a few times. My sister gets the Irish Cream Breve and I get the Americano. I get mine black so the coffee has to be good for me to enjoy it. You can't cover up bad coffee if you drink it black. The only places I drink coffee are Peets and The Human Bean. I highly recommend them! read more

Pulled into the drive thru behind another car. Sat patiently waiting for the other car to get their drink. Took a few minutes... maybe 5. And then I sat there for another 5 minutes after the car got their drink and paid waiting for the the girl at the window and the girl in the car to stop talking. Finally I backed up and left. I understand chatting while the drink is being made. But knowing there are other customers waiting and continuing to carry on a conversation for another 5+ minutes is just rude. The Human Bean is the best fast drive thru coffee in roseville. Puts Starbucks to shame. The flavor of everything is great and tastes fresh. From the iced Americano, the smoothies, to the blended frozen granita drinks. The espresso is top notch. When I drink the espresso from the human bean I can actually feel the caffeine kick in and it doesn't taste and smell like sewage like Starbucks does. I wish there were more locations so I can frequent this place more often. Convenience is key and the location, yet close, is not really convenient for me. I still try and come here when I can because it is worth it. The prices are cheaper than Starbucks and very reasonable for what you get. read more
