The Mac and cheese was not good IMO. The noodles were served to a little undercooked for my liking and I wish there was descriptions on some of the food. So you can get a drink to-go and walk around and hang out with friends... Vegas-style :) One time I came by and got a drink, so I could get into a long line at another vendor while enjoying a beer. On my recent visit, I was already buzzed and I had the munchies so I was sooooo excited that their kitchen was still open until 9:30pm. We had their County Style Tots ($7) which is a bed of crunchy tater tots smothered in cheddar cheese, bacon, and gravy. It was served with ranch and ketchup on the side, but I thought it was already perfect Country Style. Yum! When it comes to beer, I am definitely a Stout/Nitro fan. On my latest visit, my friend had the Garage Marshmallow Milk Stout ($8) and I had the Belching Beaver Peanut Butter Milk Stout ($8). They both reflect their names accurately. Luckily my friend preferred his drink and I preferred my drink. We both got something we enjoyed :) Overall a great spot for snacks and quality beers. Inside seating is limited but there's a big outside patio. But it was rainy so inside it was. I was stoked to see a milk stout on nitro on the menu but this was not the stout I was looking for. I like a dark, full-bodied, malty stouts. The Bottle Logic stout was a golden hoppy "stout" :( Not my cup of beer so my hubby took one for the team and finished it for me. Love the hop light fixtures. They have a Happy Hour from 4 pm - 6 pm Monday to Friday. This place is tucked in a nook between a hippy and White Elephant on the top level of the packing house. I was drawn in by the beer taps and the menu as very 'pub' like. The food and the pictures on Yelp looked good so I thought I'd give it a shot. For starters, the wait was long to order, there was only 1 person in front of me. There looked to be only one cook and one person taking orders/pouring beers. She was very friendly but messed up my order. I think if there was at least one more person working it would have been a lot quicker to order and handout orders. It wasn't busy though, so I'm not sure why the wait was so long. I ordered a 1/2 order of Tots with added garlic for $1 and the Iron Press dog. As mentioned previously, the cashier messed up my order and gave me a regular sized fries with garlic added. I really wanted to try the garlic tots but I guess I never will. The fries however were very good and fresh. Nice crisp and had zesty seasoning. Garlic was a nice addition too. The Iron Press dog was very simple. The hotdog itself was a basic low quality dog (like the S Bar dogs they sell at Walmart). The pickle spear in the bun was the same size as the hot dog. There was no texture to it either. The sauce and mustard were nice but there was too much going on that I couldn't taste the hot dog, everything else was too overpowering. Tomatoes were pointless, only made the bun soggy. The chili's on the top were the best part. Bun was basic, not buttered or toasted. I think the ranch is house made. It was interesting. Did not taste like regular ranch. It was slightly sweet and a lot of dill seasoning. Not bad but I wouldn't order it again. The wait to get my food after was quick, about 7 minutes. Overall, I wouldn't go back. Friendly and nice staff but for the price, wait, and quality of the hotdog it was not worth it for mediocre food. Maybe I should have gotten the burgers, they looked a lot more wholesome. Prices weren't listed for most of the beers on the menu either. read more

Not to worry because additional seating is located on the right. The menu food items sounded really good, but we were already full. Not too full for a couple of beers, however. It was a little hard to choose a new IPA to try. The Iron Press had some great staff members working on our visit. With so many beers to choose from, it was difficult to decide. Being an IPA fan, the employee made some great suggestions. I was looking for something different from the norm, and the employee's suggestions were great. I was eyeing the Ace Honey Apple Cider but decided against it since I didn't want to consume too much sweets that day. My boyfriend opted for the 32 Pilsner. Great in taste but a little too sweet for him. Waffle fries ($2 during happy hour) -- WAY TOO SEASONED! It was so salty and seasoned that honestly I had to drink so much water or dip it in so much sauce just to get through it. Now I may just have a sensitive palate but man was it a lot. The portion for the fries is huge. Like I think two potatoes worth, so it's great for sharing. Buffalo wings $8 -- comes in an order of 6 with ranch dressing and a variety of flavors like honey BBQ, Buffalo, garlic something something, etc. Went for the classic Buffalo and overall enjoyed it. Wish there was a little more sauce and that the wings were bigger but it was a decent bite. Belgium waffle $7 + $1 for ice cream -- GOOD, but opt for the strawberry and chocolate option instead. I couldn't decide between that or the fried bananas with macadamia nuts so I asked if I could do half and half. Our bartender asked if their kitchen would be willing to do it and they said yes. Compared to each other, the strawberry comes out on top. The macadamia nuts and Nutella spread come on the side as well. It is incredibly filling and also worth sharing. I found that even though I hadn't eaten lunch, I couldn't finish it on my own. | SERVICE | I know bars have a more relaxed service, but our bartender didn't even seem the slightest bit enthusiastic. We get it, it's slow time right now, but cheer up a little bit. The other bartender, Jeff, would have been a better server to us considering he was talking up a storm with the couple sitting next to us. Kinda made our bartender look bad since he kept the chatting to a minimum and didn't really seem to care about us except for making sure our food came out... I think that there are pros and cons to having an open faced kitchen to the customers. I say this because that way you can actually see the hygienic practices of the kitchen staff in a good way. They can't mess around with your food if you can see them with your own eyes. Now on the other hand, when I can also very visibly see my entire order is ready to be delivered to us, this is a big con. I saw my order sitting there for maybe 5 minutes before my bartender decided to give it to us because he had taken an unannounced break (like literally didn't tell us he was going on one nor did he make sure to tell the other bartender to take care of us) and sat there finishing his own food before giving us our own. I think teamwork here is terrible in that sense. You got one bartender on a break and another one chatting so much he doesn't have time to take other guests' orders and deliver the food as quickly as possible. Overall, the service and sub-par food warranted a 3 star review. I wanted to love this place. I have heard so many great things about them and loved the items on their menu. But the slow service and general nonchalant attitude did nothing to make me feel like this deserved a second visit. (84/100) read more
