I had breakfast here early on a Saturday morning in season. It is your run of the mill american diner. I was there with a child and we split a standard breakfast of some pancakes, a waffle, eggs and toast. They were large portions and we clouldn't finish everything. Service was very good but the place was not busy so our waitress only had two tables. I couldn't judge how they would do if busy. The coffee cup stayed full and the food came out promptly. There was nothing fancy or frilly, just food and service. I would not hesistate to stop in here again for a qucik bite. read more

Couldn't find a restaurant that sold late breakfast, decided to try the kitchen. Everything is so good. My son's loved the fresh squeezed lemonade. My husband had the fried potatoes, I tried his of course. All most as good as the ones I cook. My french toast was delicious. We are going home tomorrow, but will stop at the kitchen for breakfast on the way out. Loved everything! Even good service from Aliya!!! read more

Overall the food was pretty good but we sat there for about 10 minutes before anyone acknowledged us and took our order. Our food did take a little while to come out also. It seemed they needed help because other tables around us were also waiting a while to be served. I just got pancakes eggs and home fries so it was nothing more than a basic breakfast, maybe I'll have to go back and try something else. read more

Stopped in for breakfast with my girlfriends. I ordered a platter that came with French toast, eggs, bacon and potatoes. The food was decent but it's very hard to mess up breakfast food. The service at this place is the reason for the low stars. It took our waitress 20 mins to notice we were sitting at our table. We places orders for drinks but she forgot my order. Also it took another almost 10 mins for her to come back with the water and tea for my friend. It took me 10 mins to eat my food but we were there almost an hour. Pretty crazy considering they weren't that busy and there were more than enough staff. Also, a table sat empty for 10 mins before anyone came by to clean it. Its location is convenient but I suggest going somewhere else. read more

I came in for a quick breakfast and I got exactly what I expected. Just a local dinner around the area but they are friendly and quick. Their Orange Juice is also excellent and you can tell it's fresh squeezed. I got the chipped beef special and it was pretty good. Went for the first time. Very friendly service. Basic breakfast fare but done well. Reasonably priced. Also has Greek pastries which are yummy. I will want to go back and see how consistent it is. Considering how few decent places there are in downtown OC to eat, I may want to hold onto this one even if it's just basic fare. read more

It's been many years since we've been to OCMD. The Kitchen was always a favorite breakfast joint. I think it may have changed owners since we've last been here. The omelets are definitely smaller and not as filling as before, but never the less, they were good and we've been trying to scale down our eating lately, so all in all, it was rather good. I think the prices are scaled down along with the portions as well. So for the price it was good. The home fries were not your typical home fries. They were very delicious with a unique seasoning. It wasn't busy and the waitress was very friendly. Oh and don't forget to try the fresh squeezed OJ! read more

This place was incredible. I particularly enjoyed the cream chipped beef, large portions and even came with 2 slices of bread! They were very busy yet still managed excellent and personal service. I literally had the best breakfast of my life here. Granted, I love the more mature decor and crowd. I felt like I was in my grandmothers house. The food was phenomenal and very classic. I had the cream chipped beef on toast and a side of sausage. My wife had eggs and potatoes with the scrapple. The waitress was superb and the food was out of this world. Went to eat here last Monday, when we walked in it was busy but still a several open tables. After standing there for a few minutes the woman behind the counter motioned for us to seat ourselves. No problem with that, but unfortunately we were never acknowledged after that, never given menus or drink order taken. In the meantime of us sitting there two gentleman come in are seated and given menus, moments later another gentleman came in and was seated and give a menu. At that point having sat there being ignored by the staff for 10-15 minutes we got up, left and walked around the corner to sorianos. I can't speak for the food but I can attest that the service was horrific, definitely won't be giving them a second chance. read more

This is restaurant is the biggest hidden secret in OC. Don't let the unassuming outward apperance of the restaurant or the simple name fool you. The breakfast here is outstanding--it's like a home-cooked meal. All the ingredients are fresh and real, as in real eggs, and the portions generous . The potatoes are delicious. What you spend here is what you would spend at a mediocre chain restaurant. The atmosphere is cozy and the servers are attentive and friendly. You will leave here full and happy. Saw a review for Sorianos restaurant which I was sitting in that said to go right around the corner to The Kitchen. Glad we got up and left before being waited on. The Kitchen is a classic diner looking restaurant. Delicious freshly squeezed orange juice. Decided to try the homemade creamy chipped beef over toast and "famous" potatoes. First time ever having creamy chipped beef (don't go out for breakfast much) and it exceeded my expectations, as well as my mothers who got the same. The "famous" potatoes were extremely appetizing as well. Perfectly seasoned. I recommend for anyone looking for a good breakfast in Ocean City. read more

My family and I went in looking to grab some breakfast and we got more than we wanted. After placing our order, the waitress brought the drinks on her tray and spilled an entire large orange juice all over my six-year old nephew's head. It went everywhere - in his hair, his clothes, on his Nintendo DS that he was holding, in my purse, on my phone, on the people at the table sitting next to us. This little boy was absolutely mortified and traumatized. We took him outside to try to clean him off and he was sobbing. The waitress immediately ran away when it happened and minutes later when she came back to help us clean up the mess, she said "Don't worry, I will take care of everything." The manager didn't even come over to see if we were okay, but we believed the waitress. We were already there, we were already seated and we were hungry. We understand that accidents happen and we even tried laughing about it and brushed it off to try and enjoy the rest of our meal. The food was standard. There was an eyelash inside my waffle, but I wasn't at any point to complain about it after what had already happened. The orange juice was actually pretty good, but my nephew refused to drink any after getting it poured on his head. Then we got the bill. There was no deduction for the chaos that occurred except that the orange juice the waitress spilled had been taken off. It was insulting. I paid and even left a tip because I assumed the waitress was forced to charge us by the owner who hid behind the counter the whole time and she was as mortified as we were. We left our car parked in their lot to go and buy my nephew a new shirt and shorts on the boardwalk about a block away to replace the one that had been ruined. When we returned to their lot to retrieve the car, the attendant said we owed them $30 because we left the restaurant to go elsewhere. Parking is supposed to be free for customers. We went into the restaurant to ask the owner if she would tell the parking attendant that we were there and about what had happened and she acted like she didn't know anything about parking and it wasn't her problem. Bottom line: The ownership is rude and the staff unskilled and the food not that great. It was hands down one of the worst dining experiences I have ever had. read more

We had a $15 certificate and since the Yelp price range showed one dollar sign we thought we'd try it; 2 adults, 4 teenagers. The day we visited the air conditioning was not working; horribly hot and not a single warning or apology from the staff. Those of us that had the omelets said they were good and average priced. The cream chipped beef was good but over priced at $8.49 for the portion size. There was also no option of an alternative side with the chipped beef. It comes with the potatoes as do other dishes. Everyone in our party agreed the potatoes were not very tasty. The waitress only returned to our table once. Even after deducting our $15 certificate the bill came to $60 (including the auto-added 18% tip). In hindsite I think we should have gone to one of the many places offering breakfast for $2.99. read more
