I really enjoyed my experience at The Kitchen table. The ambiance is nice and family friendly, the service was great, and the food is chef's kiss! I tried several things that day. Wait, before I go any further! The sweet tea is the best I have had in a long time. It is served in a mason jar, and it taste like it was brewed in a tea kettle by your grandma. It is a must try if you are ever in the area. On to the food! I started with the New Orleans BBQ Shrimp. It comes with jumbo shrimp sauteed in a bold, buttery sauce infused with garlic, Worcestershire sauce, Cajun spices, and a hint of lemon. It comes with French bread. I enjoyed this dish even though I didn't taste much BBQ sauce. It's more like shrimp scampi if I am being honest. The bread was definitely buttery and good! For my meal I had the crawfish lasagna and collard greens for the side. The greens definitely have that southern homecooked taste. The lasagna was the start of the show for sure. I tried it because I never had it before and they did their thing! It was loaded with tones of crawfish, peppers, onions, cheese, and cajun sauce. This is worth every penny spent. I wish it was closer, I would be there weekly, lol! They have so much on the menu that I want to try. Loved my experience and I can't wait to go back!

Fantastic menu, awesome atmosphere and incredible service. We had a party of 9 and tried most of the appetizers (all were tasty) and several main dishes. I had the catfish sliders which was the perfect choice. I definitely recommend this little gem and enjoy the outdoor dining.

Biscuits topped with gumbo - delicious! $10

Delicious breakfast/brunch options with a creole influence. I ordered the gumbo biscuits, and they did not disappoint! Arlington is a little bit of a haul from where I live, but I would definitely dine there again if someone else wanted to, or if I was in the area.

This place is a hidden gem! Had a great time with friends Friday evening. The food tasted delicious and our server was super nice! Shout out to Tasha!! We started off with deviled eggs with candied bacon. The mixture was smooth and had a slight kick of heat. The candied bacon added to the appetizer. The fried green tomatoes were a nice recommendation. Some in our party did not like the pimento cheese. It was different. The candied bacon on top was a tasty treat. My friend ordered the blackened catfish with Parmesan truffle fries. She also had a jalapeño corn muffin on the side. The catfish was moist and cooked to perfection. The delicious fries were a great compliment to the fish. The flavor was on point. Another friend ordered meat loaf that had a variety of seasonings and the gravy was not too salty. It came with long yummy broccolini. They ordered collard greens as well and enjoyed those. The chicken kebabs were okay. Friend said the marinade was a little too sweet for her and would have liked it to be a tad more spicy. My other friend said her BLT was very good as the pork belly had a good flavor and was tasty. I ordered the shrimp and grit cake. I like the subtle spice in the gravy and grit cake. The shrimp was not over cooked and seasoned. We were sorta stuffed but decided to share the bread pudding. Tasted like a cinnamon roll which is a little different. A tad pricey for the amount you receive. It is quite unique. I really enjoyed eating here at this quaint place in the older part of Arlington. It is larger and very bright with country like decor. It reminds me of a country inn or restaurant in a bed and breakfast. I am very glad a friend recommended the newish place that used to be Vinegar Jim's. I will definitely return!

We went for Mother's Day. We were nervous because they didn't have any reservations available so we just showed up and got immediately seated! The food was phenomenal! We also had the spinach dip as an appetizer. Our waitress was awesome and so sweet!! Can't wait to come back to try dinner

A cute neighborhood restaurant tucked in the middle of Arlington. It's surrounded by beautiful homes and walking paths that are the heartbeat of this establishment. A great sense of community and small town feels just make this place feel like home. The staff was very kind and attentive. They ensured the needs of their patrons are met and they are all indeed very polite! To top it off, the food was fantastic. I only took pictures of the appetizers, but everything was delicious. The beignets were so flaky and soft! Will definitely be going back!

Crawfish lasagna and chicken and sausage gumbo

Found this place on our way back home to Texas. So glad we did, I looked at the lunch menu and picked out the crawfish lasagna with a side order of gumbo, chicken and sausage. I got to say I had my doubts about the lasagna, but it was actually exceptionally good. The taste of the crawfish really came through and made this dish something special. I love it when you get a tea glass it's in a quart jar size because you know you're not going to have to ask for very many refills. The wait person was extremely friendly and welcoming. Would definitely find this place again on another trip through this area.

Let's start with the atmosphere. The inside and outside of the restaurant is full of charm. It's welcoming and homey! Our server was fantastic, attentive, and friendly. We felt well taken care of while we dined in. Now onto the best part: the food. My gosh. The menu alone was enough to get us interested in coming to check it out! I ordered the wedge salad and the southern poutine and both knocked my socks off. The flavor combination of the dressing, tomatoes, Gorgonzola cheese and candied bacon was perfection. But the poutine stole the show! So much flavor in every bite!!! Phew. I would come back JUST for that dish. (And I literally can't wait to come back!) We also had the cookie ice cream sandwich and the cookie of the day was peanut butter. The caramel sauce on top was delicious and I could have eaten a bowl of that alone! I also tried the deviled eggs and stole a bite of my daughter's burger and my sister's meatloaf and it was all stellar!!! The kids loved their cotton candy, too! Well done, guys, and keep up the amazing work!!!

I have been here a couple times since they converted this place. I love the new porch!! They have tried to keep the shade on you and it will be such a hit when it's not 90 degrees outside. But it is so beautiful!!!! They have great service, if you have any questions or needs they are great to answer or help accommodate you if they can. I also appreciated this. I am very grateful this place has kept the Cajun heritage alive. It is delicious food and even better catfish! I am super excited to have them in Arlington!!! They have a large gravel parking lot, and a ramp for handicapped access. They do have parchment paper for kids to draw on every table.

I had the veggie plate with butter beans (they were a bit sweet and limas, not true butter beans), fried squash (the slice it long ways and hand batter), spinach mashed potatoes, and deviled eggs (delicious, no notes). I tried both hush puppies and a roll. Personally, the hush puppies weren't my favorite, but the roll was buttery goodness:). Most importantly, I asked our server at the beginning if they still had chocolate cobbler and if they were running low to go ahead and bring it out. At first they had plenty, but a few minutes later cobbler was in front of me because she noticed it was running low. So dessert first! Don't mind if I do:) it was warm, gooey, and delicious. Others in my group had the chicken fried steak, and chicken tenders. Everyone was very happy with their meals! Service was great, though the kitchen was a little slow. As soon as you're seated, you'll have a tempting signboard presented at your table with every southern classic you can imagine. With entrees like fried chicken and catfish, endless sides like turnip greens, white beans, and just about anything you can imagine fried, and every kind of southern pie, it's all there. The catfish is magnificent, with that wonderfully gritty cornmeal batter surrounding flaky, tender fish. The complimentary roll is also delicious! And the servers are very nice here! But there are some downsides. The fried okra, my favorite southern side dish, is actually soft and soggy. No self respecting southerner would ever make soggy fried okra. It's about the worst I ever had. And the onion rings, which are hard to mess up, were burnt black and lacked flavor. They were inedible. The cashier is rude and doesn't have time for "thank you" or small talk or a smile or even giving you your receipt when nobody else is in line to pay their bill. That's just how it is. If you want good catfish, Sling Shot Charlie's will come through. But if you want a southern culinary experience that's enjoyable, there are much better places to have it!

It comes with tortilla chips and they recommend trying it with the green Tabasco sauce. That adds a little heat to it. For my beer, I had a Memphis Made Fireside Amber Ale, which paired well with the both the appetizer and my entree. My entree was the Blackened Catfish with White Beans and Hushpuppies. I also tried their Homemade Tartar Sauce and Remoulade. Everything was excellent. I noticed they do quite a bit of carry out, to go orders. It looked like their to go orders outnumbered the actual restaurant patrons inside. They had a few waitresses constantly prepping carry out bags, filling sauces, etc...almost assembly line style, just to keep up. My dinner with tip was $50 plus.
