Food is EXTREMELY expensive but flavor is very good. They charge a take out fee of 18% or so of your entire orders cost. Which is absolutely insane. They definitely are price gauging the community known for being well off. But I'll reiterate the food is very good. read more

Friday night, 6:30. Our party of two adults and a toddler was seated quickly. The staff had a great disposition. Our drink order was taken, along with our app order, the server recommended burnt end plate. Cool mason jar glasses... nice strong iced tea. The crayons and paper topped table kept our granddaughter entertained the whole time. The wife ordered the fried catfish and truffle fries. Baby girl got chicken tenders and fries. I ordered the smoked meatloaf with a cup of gumbo and collard greens. The app of burnt ends was served on small plate, with precut cheese cubes. A couple of salad peppers and nice crunchy pickle spears filled the small plate, though the burnt ends themselves were hit or miss. A couple were fatty and seared up properly, while some just were dried up loin, tough and didn't belong on the plate. Altogether the plate wasn't worth the price. The child's plate of tenders and fries looked great. Hand made tenders big enough to satisfy any child. My wife was pleased with her catfish plate, and had enough to take home. Which brings us to my meatloaf. It was served less than room temperature, with a tomato based ( ketchup perhaps?) and a brown gravy that tasted much like any jar gravy you've ever had. The combo of the two small pieces of meatloaf, with no smoke flavor and both poor sauces... well maybe if it had been hotter... The gumbo was bad. Same gravy perhaps as the stuff on the meatloaf? Anyhow, it was a bowl of gravy and rice with a couple of pieces of sausage and a few veggies. It was absolutely NOT gumbo, unless Campbell's soup was judging it. The collard greens were excellent, and it was a nice large bowl. Piping hot and seasoned well. The ticket was $74. 2 out of 3 of us were satisfied with the meal. If they weren't so darn overpriced, I might give them a second shot, and try something else. read more

This lasagna had a pool of butter at the top that it was swimming in and it consisted of 2/3 of one lasagna noodle and a tub of ricotta. Delichus + repretching! Très bien. Hours later, im lying In my hospice bed with 3rd degree ass burns. Now I'm no debutant, but i believe it's not in the nature of southern hospitality to do such a thing. Also ordered the shrimp + grits and received a grit cake that was burnt to hell and then soggy from the illustrious watery gumbo poured on the plate. It was supposed to be topped with chicken and sausage but the dish contained neither. I'm all for small business but 20 dollars for some burnt grit cakes ( had a bad flavor btw, I have had many a grit cake and these were like 3 day hush puppies that someone tried to spice up and it was not doing what it was supposed to do) and Tony Chachere's shrimps when (and I hate to say this) I could've made a satisfactory version at home. Ya'll first off, I am a total supporter of local business and I absolutely want this cute little restaurant to do well. They have been open 9 weeks and with all new restaurants are still figuring things out. The inside reminded me of something you would see in the Deep South like Savannah or on Sweet Home Alabama. We liked what they have done with the decor. With that said I have a review of the food I would like to share: There were 4 of us. We were sat at a table WAY to small for a party of 4 but we made it work. The waitstaff and waitress were super nice and very pleasant. We ordered the cornbread and potato wedge appetizer. They were both hot and tasty. Perhaps a little over priced for what we got but we would reorder the wedges because the dipping sauce was amazing. The cornbread didn't do much for us and compared to the wedges they came in second place. We ordered the meatloaf, chicken sliders and the debris samich for our entrees. The sliders were pleasant to the eye but the wing sauce was super spicy and very vinegary. Not our favorite when it come to buffalo sauce. The meatloaf was crispy on the surface and seemed like it had been sitting for a while under a heat lamp or warmer. The garlic mashed potatoes were good but according to my 'tato guru the wedges were better. We would order this entree again. I had the debris samich - the beef was amazing and I loved the taste. My only complaint is my bun was so soggy it could not be eaten as it just fell off when I picked it up. For all of this the bill came to a surprising amount just over $70. This to me seemed a bit high for what we got. I want to give this place another try in a few months to see if anything improves and I think you should try it too. A friend and I went there on Saturday , the outside and inside are lovely. We had a great waitress and we were seated quickly. He and I ordered a salad with the blackened shrimp. When our food came these 2 salads were extremely small with 3 very small shrimp on each salad, so small I would have been embarrassed to serve these. We got our bill and we paid $53.00 which this included the tip. I would have complained but our server was very young and I did not want to upset her.
