My mother ordered a spinach and mushroom omelette, you could tell the spinach was frozen and mushrooms where over cooked and her grits were cold and clumpy.The kids' pancake was cold. My Boston cream pancakes were cold and you could not taste the cream. They were burning a scented candle in the restaurant. Yuck! The bathrooms were very dirty. I was looking for a traditional southern style breakfast during my last day of my vacation in Myrtle Beach as I came upon this gem of a restaurant. The dining area was light bright and airy with plenty of room between the tables. The waitress was as friendly as can be. But the highlight was the breakfast itself. Three eggs over easy, hash browns, bacon, ham, toast, a stack of pancakes, orange juice and a bottomless cup of coffee all perfectly prepared for just about $11.00. Unfortunately sometimes change is not a good thing. Really enjoyed the previous owner a lot more when they had the birds upstairs. Although the place I was running down and needed a big shot in the arm like these people have done. The place is definitely a lot cleaner. However owner had a major attitude with me over onions which was totally uncalled for and Ludacris. Don't like places that try to cut Corners so much on cost. Feel like this place is trying to do that a little too much. Probably because they had to do a lot of major improvements to this building call. Maybe after they get settled down they will improve the quality of their food. They get the two C's out of my three C's of diners and dives. They are very clean, and somewhat cost-effective. But where they don't have is great customer service. You should never argue with a customer over onions. I'm sorry but everyone expects onions and pickles on a cheeseburger usually. My husband and I were in Myrtle Beach area tending to some business and decided to drive up to what is now known as the Kitchen Table. It has been awhile since we were in MB and the last time we were there it was under another name. So we thought what the heck we'll give it a try. Upon entering the restaurant there was a man with the hostess and a waitress in the left side area of the dining room and the man was literally yelling at them about having Ranch dressing bottles on the tables. It was 10:45-11:00 when we got there. The waitress all scurried around and remove the bottles from the tables while we waited for our waitress. Super nice lady waited on us. I do not want to mention her name for possible repercussions against her. She took our order again very nice and friendly. While we were waiting for our food the yelling started again! The man entered the upper part of the kitchen yelling and caring on with the kitchen staff in the mean time all the waitresses shot out the lower end of kitchen! (for safe ground!) Our waitress brought our food and it was subpar at best no wonder since they just got ripped a whole new one!! While we were eating over my shoulder I heard this man now reprimanding another waitress! My husband said, "There he goes again!" Enough is enough!! I got up and approached the man and asked him if he was the manager he said "Yes." I asked him if he had a supervisor he said" I am the manager", I again asked him who is the owner? He said "I am the manager", strange!!!! He kept repeating "I am the manager" I later learned he is the owner! If your the owner OWN your behavior!! I proceeded to tell him his behavior is unacceptable, for the business and to stop carrying on, it is very disrespectful to his customers let alone his staff! Needless to say we exchanged a few unicity's. I went back to the my table, where my was husband was. He had already paid the bill and he said the waitress was crying when she brought the bill and kept apologizing to him for the owners behavior! As we were leaving some of the waitresses were at the lower end of the kitchen and I did say "I am sorry you ladies have to work for such an a$$!" Rather loudly, I admit! I have never in all my years seen such behavior from a manager/owner of a business!! I truly hope ALL his employees find other jobs and all walk out on him! That is what he deserves he certainly does not deserve the staff he has or being a business owner that deals with the public. Please if you read this DO NOT support this business!!! He is very abusive to his employees!! My suggestion to him is hire a manager to take over the business until you receive the therapy/rehab, whatever you need to learn how to deal with your anger or whatever issues you have and also learn to treat ALL people with respect. You obviously need to take some time to work on yourself. And that's okay, just own it! Take some training classes on how to run a business and change attitude to respect people, those who work for you and those who don't!! No-one should have to work under "your"conditions!! Just get the help you need. Terrible!! Went in here for a late lunch and should have taken the empty parking lot as a sign of the quality! My dad ordered soup and it took 20 min! We have been "out of town" locals in the NMB area for over 20 years and have pretty much eaten at every breakfast place in the area during that time. With that said, our favorite place is, without a doubt, The Kitchen Table. The food is always hot and prepared exactly as we request; the service, especially the waitstaff is impeccable; and the price is extremely reasonable. On a recent visit, our waitress Amy Jo, did an excellent job - she was courteous, prompt, and constantly returning to our table to refill our water glasses or coffee mugs. The food was perfectly prepared (scrambled eggs well done, bacon crisp) and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit. We certainly plan to return on our next visit to NMB and encourage everyone to give The Kitchen Table a chance - you won't regret it! read more

Oh where to start. Came to this gem, looking to try something "hot and new" as yelp describes. FAKE NEWS! Let me recap our experience. Walk in and meet hostess. Hostess says there is a wait but ensures me they are "flipping tables" and won't be more then 5-10 minutes. Ok no problem. Closer to 15 minutes, but understandable. Upon being seated, wait an addition ten until waitress to come over. I order avocado BLT and wife orders veggie omelette with a side of French toast in lieu of pan cakes. Food comes out after 20 minutes and guess what? No French toast. Also for an avocado BLT - sure was lacking in the avocado department. Onto the veggie omelette- one would think a vegetable omelette would have strictly vegetables. Not this one- this one came with sausage and ham. Hmmmm? What if she was a vegetarian? Also - no French toast. Simple fix just ask waitress for the French toast. Nope she doesn't come over until we are done. When asked about French toast she says "they forgot to bring it out." Who are "they" because "they" certainly need to get their act together. Lastly, I also ordered a side of eggs. When the waitress handed it to me she shouts "ouch, watch out plate is a little hot". I would say it was a little more than hot but whatever. Lastly after giving us the bill, she never comes to pick up our card, so we just left cash on table to cover bill and tip and left. This breakfast was just average. The eggs were fine, the French toast was fine, and the toast was fine. The best part of the meal was probably the fruit cup. The omelet tasted like it was made with velveeta cheese which in my mind is not the makings of a great omelet. The homefries were also not what I would call home fries, they were just cut up potatoes in large chucks. I like my homefries crisp and these were like dinner potatoes. After 5 years of sifting through yelp reviews I finally found a place that was bad enough to sign up and voice my opinion. I walked into The Kitchen Table expecting nothing more than a hot meal on my last day off from work. knowing what I know now, here are a list of things I would rather do than visiting this place again. Root canal, swimming with sharks, combat training for Navy Seals, standing at the finish line of the Boston marathon. The building was very nice and spacious from the outside and had plenty of seating. I really wish I could have gone when it was raining to see the waterfall from the leaking ceiling that had the encompassed entire back of the restaurant. I'm sure that would really set a nice ambiance to enjoy my bland food that resembled a banquet television dinner. Anyways, server put in order at 11:39 and food arrived at 12:15. I had to wait around 3 more minutes to get another roll of silverware because I didn't feel like eating the food that was left on the fork I was given. When I did get to finally take a bite and it was ice cold. My food was reheated upon my request and still came out at room temperature. The server got the owner and he was quite the pompous, arrogant fella with his slicked over greasy hair and was not very believing that HIS food would ever come out cold. He was more offended about something he has being wrong than helping out a customer. He was nice enough to give us half off of our meal. But only the half that I told him to keep because I wasn't interested anymore. There is a better chance of scheduling a follow up appointment with Dr. Kevorkian than me stepping foot back in this place. Would only recommend this establishment on 1 day of the year. April First.
