I was not sure what to expect with The Knack. It was on my radar for a while before I gave it a try. Well worth coming in! Upon driving up, I was surprised to find that it was outdoor seating only. In fact, I had no idea that we'd have to go up to a counter to order our food. Well, no worries! After ordering, you're given a buzzer while you find a place to sit. This can be a bit hectic during peak times so be patient! The food definitely hit the spot. Their burgers are small but they pack a pretty good punch when paired with their special burger sauce. However, I wish the buns were a bit more substantial. I always hate when burger joints go with the buns that become easily soggy. Still, the taste was there so it didn't deter me completely. The fries were perfect and they give you a very generous serving. I also tried out the chicken fingers and they were very good as well. I tried a bit of my husband's vanilla milkshake. Yum! A great combo with the meal for sure. They serve canned Cape Cod beer which is a bonus as it pairs well with the food. Food is ok, quick but overpriced for what you get. Some of the staff are wonderful and some of them don't have the patience to be in the service industry. One of the servers basically threw me a soda after I had the nerve to order "only a soda" on the app (it was my second order after ordering a bunch of food and forgetting the soda). The knack is one of our very favorite restaurants for our yearly Cape Cod vacation. Every single food item they serve that we have tried has been outstanding. From the perfectly proportioned and great tasting fresh lobster roll, to the outstanding high quality hamburgers that my kids regularly devour, to the perfectly and lightly battered and fried onion rings and french fries this place does not disappoint. The service is fantastic and they have made the best of the space that they have available near the Orleans rotary. Fantastic little shack for some outdoor summertime food. We stopped in around one on a Friday on our way up to Eastham and the line was pretty reasonable. Parking lot was a little small, but we found a spot as soon as we pulled in. All outdoor seating, which was perfect given the fine weather. I was actually impressed with the prices, given the location. Not quiet cheap, but not the usual tourist prices either. We ordered a classic single cheeseburger, the fish tacos, and a side of onion rings, on prior recommendations. Definitely lived up to my expectations! The burger was a tasty little deal, with a great sauce and just the right amount of beef. The fish tacos were pretty great too, with a whole fried fillet instead of the typical chopped-up fare. The onion rings impressed us, being much thinner and lighter than the usual bar-style. The breading on them was just right, and they gave a massive portion. We left feeling pleasantly stuffed. I'd read many good reviews about the Knack, so a group of 10 went for dinner Thursday evening. The line was very long, and I heard some regulars saying they'd never seen it so long. Nonetheless, it wasn't too bad and we got to complete ordering in about 15 minutes. With such a busy place, we thought the wait for the food would take forever, but it didn't. In about 15 minutes we had our whole huge order for 10. No mistakes. The food is good, and for Cape Cod in the summer.... fairly priced. I had a huge fried cod sandwich for $10 bucks. A great lunch spot (apparently a great place for dinner too)! We came here at the recommendation of my sister-in-law's roommate. It was raining the day we went, but we were still able to enjoy our meal under the comfort of a roofed patio area. I had the ring burger. It's a burger with bacon and onion rings. The onion rings are the shoestring variety and paired well with a zesty sauce. The other burger options all had simple toppings and would be worth trying. The menu also features other summer shack staples like lobster rolls, chicken fingers, hot dogs, and fried clams. Sides are sold separately. We got onion rings and fries to share.
