The Knick is attached to The Knickerbocker hotel. It was a very popular place! There was a steady stream of guests coming in, as well as several takeout orders. The happy hour is very popular. We were sat on the heated, enclosed patio which was surprisingly nice and toasty. We had a peephole view of the lake even! Our server was Nick and he was very accommodating when I asked to substitute a juice in my cocktail and a side with my entree. He didn't even bat an eye and said it would be no problem. He had to do a few iterations of my drink he said, but what he served me was delicious. I ordered the salmon which was prepared perfectly. For dessert I had the carrot cake - also good! I would love to come back for the patio during warmer months.

I have been to the Knick a few times for brunch (love the breakfast pasta!), but this was my first time going for happy hour. The happy hour specials were great! The HH menu had a large selection of cocktails and appetizers for $6. I also like that the happy hour goes from 3-6pm Monday-Friday. I stuck with the Knick Mule all night and it was delicious. A friend ordered the margarita in a few different flavors and she enjoyed all of them. The food was amazing! We tried 6 items off the happy hour menu: spring rolls, garlic cheese curds, BBQ chicken flatbread, fried chicken sliders, happy tots, and micho burger. My favorites were the happy tots and micho burger. The tots were not what I was expecting, more mushy than crispy, but I loved it. And the chipotle aioli went perfectly with it. The burgers had a really flavorful tomato bacon jam! The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was because the service was a little slow. We could see our drinks sitting at the bar service station for about 5 minutes before they got delivered to us. Then we asked for straws and I ended up going to grab some myself from the bar because the server didn't come back with them for about 8 minutes. We sat with empty waters for awhile and then when we asked for water refills, they were forgotten. We wanted to order one last round of drinks before happy hour ended and started looking for our server around 5:30. Finally at 5:55, I had to grab his attention to get the order in before the deal ended at 6. It did get fairly busy, so he seemed to be running around a lot, but it is a small restaurant and I think service could have been improved. But overall, not a big deal. He was a nice guy.

The Knick has my favorite meal in all of Milwaukee - the scallop salad. The chunk of iceburg lettuce is HUGE with top notch scallops on top, loaded with Blue Cheese dressing. They have one of the best happy hours the city has to offer. A beautiful inside for cozy dates, or a wonderful outside patio for people watching. They take reservations which is always a plus!

I've been to the Knick multiple times over the years- always for happy hour. They do it well. There are good deals on both food and drinks and the vibe is nice. There's been a menu change since I last went and today I tried the shrimp and spring rolls on the happy hour menu. I also got the black berry margarita which was pretty sweet and didn't taste like much alcohol- which isn't a bad thing to me. I wasn't mad at my food but it wasn't anything amazing. This is always a solid spot for happy hour and I'll have to come and try the real menu one day.

I came to The Knick for the first time for brunch with a few of my friends this past Sunday. Our server was great and attentive! The restaurant is nice and clean with a patio for seating as well, which is nice to know because spring is around the corner! Our coffees and mimosa were good. The food is the reason for 4 stars instead of 5. Personally, my omelette was great and I love the breakfast potatoes on the side. The special was a breakfast sandwich, which came with toast that was flimsy and slightly soggy. The meat inside was overcooked and the taste overall wasn't great per my friend. My other friend got the Benedict and the eggs were overcooked poached and were completely hard. They were redone and sent out about 10 minutes later and were better, but it seemed as if these ones were a little undercooked (the white part was runny too). I would be willing to try their lunch or dinner menu another time, but I don't think I would go back for breakfast.

I've been to The Knick a number of times, I love it every time. Our waiter was very nice and attentive. The restaurant itself has a nice fancy vibe but you can certainly go casually. I've heard amazing things about their happy hour but have yet to try it. The wings are amazing! This time I had the truffle burger which was delicious, I wish I could go in the back and take all of their garlic aioli lol. The frites that came with were also really good and a nice serving. I typically get the bacon cheddar avocado burger but my friend got it this time and she enjoyed it. She did say that the bacon was a bit tooooo crispy but still enjoyable. We also shared the pineapple mule which was fruity and didn't have much of an alcohol flavor. I always look forward to going to the Knick they have good food for reasonable prices, definitely recommend for a date or girls night.

Still a great place to hang out to enjoy a drink, a meal, and people watching. Their happy hour is not to be missed.

Loved going to the Knick for happy hour! Super great drink and food specials. Delicious bites and the drinks were great. Good prices too. Ambiance was super fun for Halloween. Service was decent but they were busy! Don't blame them for the good deals. Happy hour is until 6 pm Mon- fri.

Came here while my friend was out of town. It was actually a recommendation from our other friend, and I'm so glad we tried it. We sat outside and it was super cute! Loved being next to the side street with all the greenery and park views around us, it made for such a nice atmosphere. Our waitress was really kind and patient (especially since we were running late from traffic while meeting our friends). The food was delicious and beautifully presented from the appetizers to the main dishes. Definitely planning to come back for both the food and the atmosphere.

Located inside the Knickerbocker, the restaurant has a cozy charm to it. We came for dinner one night without a reservation. We opted for the outdoor patio seating as it felt like the inside was going to be way too hot for us (summer 2024). We were sat pretty promptly but the patio chairs needed a good wiping and a couple more inches apart from other tables. We really enjoyed our drinks, however, felt like our meal was just alright. I had split the burrata appetizer which was nice and light and ordered the lobster ravioli. A bit too fishy and dry for my liking. I would definitely come back for drinks.

The Knick is everything. It's easily one of the best restaurants in Milwaukee. The food is always top notch, I've never had a bad experience here in any regard. I love restaurants that are consistent. The Knick has a nice outdoor patio, is great for brunch, happy hour, lunch and dinner. And their wings are some of the best in the city.

    - delicious food, good service, cozy ambiance - no…read morereservation can be made for brunch - excited to come back for a sweet option Happy to get a seat at this tasty diner! With their rotating menu items and weekly specials, I am definitely coming back after having such a flavorful and fun meal. Waited about an hour on a busy Saturday since one of their locations was closed, but the food was well worth it! I had gotten Wolfie's Patty Melt and it was filling and a great start to our morning. The bread was nice and crisp from the buttered griddle and held everything together perfectly. Inside the crunchy sandwich were 2 seasoned patties and enough gooey cheese to make it rich, but not heavy. To contrast the fatty flavor, there was a slightly tart bacon jam and onions that were truly caramelized. Overall really tasty sandwich with no notes! In the description it says there is a sauce, but I could only taste the onions and jam, so I'm not too sure what it added. The side of fries was ok, but I think some crispy thinner ones would have been better with the sandwich. For my drink, I got a hot Ube Chai. The chai was strong and had a spicy kick to each sip. Already a subtle flavor, the ube was not very strong with the chai mixed in, but still added fun color. The design on top was also very cute and added another dink of sweetness. My girlfriend got the Spamelette for her main and it was pretty pretty and delish. Not too often that you see Spam, but when you see it, trust it earned its spot on a menu! The big chunks of Spam and accouterments gave each bite a pleasant feel and one full of flavor. I was skeptic of the mushrooms at first, but they were seasoned well and added another kind of texture to the meal. I think my favorite toppings were the drizzle of kewpie and the green onions... not sure if it counts as a topping, but the tamari glaze of the spam made it delish. Taste aside, it was also a pretty meal! Pook got a Hot Chocolate for her drink. Nice simple drink for the cold weather. We would have liked to see some more chocolatey flavor, but still a good milky drink for the meal. This drink also had a fun design and nice cream top, yum yum yum. This was such a tasty meal and they have lots of other options that I was debating on getting - I guess we gotta come back! It was a really cold day, but the cozy atmosphere and hot drinks with our food made it a great experience. We had originally planned on going to the Downtown location, but it was closed because of heating problems. I wish there was a bit more uniformity between their menus, especially since the Brewers Hill menu has different items and is smaller, so it feels like there is quite the difference between locations. Going off of that point, I am excited to try their dinner menu when it releases and see how it compares to when we ate Downtown! I am not sure how the places differ, but I felt the food here to be more flavorful than the other location. In addition to the dining area, they had a small shop and coffee area in the back while you waited for your table. It was fun and made time pass faster, but I feel as though that area is also perfect for dining. Maybe there are specific reasons why it isn't, but just a thought. Hope to come back soon!

Perfectly cooked medium rare steak with chimichurri, crispy-runny eggs, and excellent potatoes holding it all together. The food is thoughtfully plated without trying too hard, and the prices feel fair for the quality. Definitely worth checking out if you haven't been. Another lil Milwaukee gem!

The Nashville hot chicken sandwich was really good and the biscuits were soo good!! The fried green tomatoes were just so-so, but I don't have much to compare it to. Our margaritas were very tasty. Brunch It Up (possibly in the middle of rebranding to just "Brunch.") is a classic breakfast spot in downtown Milwaukee...we were there on a Sunday morning...high brunch time, and were seated quickly upstairs. The place had an overall run-down vibe to it...scuffed paint on the walls and a general feeling of not quite matching the quality of the upscale brunch spot implied by their modern logo. Menus...I normally don't comment on the menu itself but our table featured no less than 4 different menus...the regular menu, a drink menu, a specials menu and a mimosas menu...choices are wonderful, but the immediate reaction is this is a whole mess of menus on the table, and I don't know what to look at first. It felt haphazard. Let's move on to the coffee...Coffee is an essential part of the brunch experience. Even at a diner, you want it to be strong...the mug it came in was nice, but it was weak coffee. I need coffee to kick my butt, and if you're serving what's close to "browned water" at a breakfast place, you're missing the mark. How about the food? I can't fault them for the generosity of the portions, but will say individual dishes were way too much for my wife and I...we wish smaller portions were available, so so much didn't go to waste. My wife had the Egg and Waffle sandwich with waffle fries. It was fine. I had the Harvest Hash made with egg whites...the eggs were a little overcooked. (Egg whites require a thoughtful touch when cooking them so they are finished white and not browning all over.) There are plenty of fresh tomatoes, mushrooms, and peppers in there (I guess that's the extent of the harvest in Milwaukee) The hashbrowns it all sat on were undercooked. We were excited about the croissant beignets...Available were the regular ones with chocolate or strawberry dipping sauce, and a special with a fruit dipping sauce. They couldn't mix and match sauces, so we got the special. They were okay but a bit over-fried, losing the croissant texture altogether ...I mean, there's nothing wrong with deep-fried dough with sweet things to dip them in, but we do wish they hadn't fried the croissant out of them to give us the unique experience implied by the name. The menu has plenty to choose from...every breakfast savory or sweet thing you could imagine...and on the nicely designed, modern-looking menu at looks like it could be amazing...but everything we got, plus the experience of sitting in a place that felt a little rundown, left us overall disappointed.

Their website has a popup on the home page saying it comes with fried haddock, potato pancakes, applesauce, and rye bread, but the popup doesn't list the price and it isn't available through the online ordering function. I ended up calling in an order to go, substituting wheat bread for the rye, and also added a piece of lemon ginger coffee cake. The lemon ginger coffee cake tasted fine, but man was it dry. Like Sahara Desert dry. Maybe this was an anomaly and their other baked goods are better, but I'd be hesitant to try them based on this coffee cake. Even though the website says the side is potato pancakes with applesauce, my fish fry came with fries. They ended up being the best part of the meal, which I certainly wasn't expecting. Still, I was disappointed cause I prefer potato pancakes and was given their inclusion as an expectation. The wheat bread itself was ok, but the butter was oddly unsalted. The fish, of which there was three pieces, was battered with a hint of beer, but like the butter for the bread there was no salt to speak of in the batter. As much as I didn't enjoy the unsalted butter for the bread, not having salt in the batter for the fish managed to be more unpleasant. Maybe Blue's Egg should just stick with serving breakfast items instead of adding something temporary that they clearly aren't pros at.

We quite literally came here straight from the airport. To make matters worse, we had not eaten anything substantial all day and had actually looked this restaurant up weeks before our trip while researching places to eat the infamous Wisconsin fish fry, so we were really looking forward to the experience. The experience started off poorly when our party was essentially scolded by the hostess for sitting at a table that apparently needed to be cleaned for the wait list. To make matters worse, the busser laughed and joked that we were "in trouble," to which I could only respond, "Sounds like it." Not exactly the welcoming atmosphere you'd hope for as a first time visitor. The fish fry was decent our tab came out to $150 for 5 people, but the service was absolutely subpar and our tip reflected that. We also had to send back two drink glasses because they were dirty one still had lipstick on it, and another had food stuck to the inside of the glass. Overall, this was a very disappointing dining experience. Between the unprofessional treatment, lackluster service, and cleanliness issues, I would not recommend stopping here.
