Stopped in this afternoon before a trip to trader joes. We told the barista that it was our first time in & she happily gave us the run down of the tea + coffee menu. I got the chai on ice (so good), hubs got the boulder blues, and they even made a chocolate milk for the tot- bonus! We had the sandwich with chicken, tomatoes, and greens- took a little bit to get it, but the flavor was good, so it was worth it! Got some loose leaf to go, and going to try it out tonight. This place is super cute and I really wanted to like this place. I ordered a Matcha latte but they handed me a chai latte. My friend had ordered before me and she ordered the chai, everyone has bad days and sometimes we make mistakes so she probably has thought I said chai. I walked up to the counter and told the girl making the drinks that I received the wrong drink. She said "no I'm pretty sure you asked for a chai latte" with an attitude. I told her you know what I'll just drink the chai it's fine and I walked away. Later she brings me a matcha latte to my table still with an attitude and I told thank you you really didn't have to make one. She said "well I already did" and walked away. That whole interaction made me uncomfortable and they definitely have to fix their customer service. I would not return here. read more

I got the early grey iced tea latte and it was flavorful without being over the top and gave me the pick me up I needed. If I was a local, I would be frequenting Steep weekly! Talk about terrific tea time! They have this delicious combo sparkling water and flavored tea called Sparkle Tea. A delightful name for a delightful tea. Their spinach and feta cheese frittata didn't only have a robust savory flavor profile, it was a pretty decent serving size, too. The ordering set-up is similar to any ordinary coffee shop where you order at a counter, but they bring the food out to you when ready! They even have a tea of the day! Their tea options are definitely the best part. My sparkle tea was blackberry and green tea flavored and had a perfect amount of 'sparkle' and was definitely not too sweet. read more

This was definitely one of the best tasting coffee drinks I have enjoyed in recent history. We stopped in for a quick pick-me-up after braving the hordes in Trader Joe's on a weekend morning (and my only purchase was one jar of cookie butter). After ordering and receiving my drink, I took the time to sit down and savor my beverage. I liked the interior, and appreciated that they actually offered parking in an area where that is all too rare. Service was good. I guess I'm getting old because every time I indulge in a super caffeinated beverage (read: regular coffee) I get this condition where my brain acts all wonky and decides to hang out in the fog for a few hours after consumption. This is an extremely sad state of affairs because if there was any certainty to my life at all it was the following: Taxes Death Love of coffee But during my coffee weening off period, places like Steep make it a whole lot easier to manage the withdrawal symptoms. Up until now I've yet to consider that tea could make just as good (if not better, arguably) an ingredient in a latte as your traditional coffee bean. I was given the advice to try the Matte Latte and their website describes it as such: "smooth, energizing and antioxidant-rich Yerba Mate, blended with creamy milk and hints of honey and agave." It was certainly smooth, gave me a different buzz than normal coffee, and those hints of honey and agave were delightful. I almost wish I had a milk steamer at home so I could make this concoction on a daily basis in my own apartment. With Steep at your side there's definitely life after coffee. read more

I really like this place. All the staff are so friendly, and they do some great concoctions. I've hung out here before for a two, three hour clip and the people are very chill about it. There are a ton of sockets, the place is clean, and the clientele is a great mix of people. They do a good lemonade-matcha thing. I mean like life changing. I live and work within minutes of Cherry creek mall and I after the first sip, I was trying to figure out how long it would take me to get down to steep and back before work every morning. For those of you who prefer coffee/ espresso over tea, still delicious. Matt, my bf, is a coffee man and also lactose intolerant. He was So excited that they have almond milk too instead of just soy. After trying his extra-shot sugar free vanilla latte, all he said was "yummmmm"- over n over. We also embraced our inner fat kids and sampled the earl grey bread/cake, the pumpkin chai bread, AND the apple scone. Earl grey bread was insane and delicious. Really unique flavor and not too sweet. Of pumpkin bread and apple scone, Matt preferred the pumpkin, and though I didn't try pumpkin, I think we agree that our least favorite was the apple scone. It was far from bad - it was good- just wasn't as great as the other two. Flavor was everything you hoped for, I think it was just the density of the scone we weren't in love with. I'm an avid coffee fan but Steep could definitely turn me into a tea lover. My colleague and I stopped here today and we were delighted to see that it wasn't just your run of the mill coffee shop, it's primarily tea with a few coffee drinks thrown on the menu. I got the Toasted Coconut Oolong with almond milk and bits of toasted coconut and it was wonderful. Not too sweet and just strong enough to keep my ears perked. The atmosphere was pretty chill, it was quiet but not like library yet without any obnoxious patrons. Staff was really friendly and patient while just sat staring at the menu since I'm Team Coffee. Parking in the back and while you're in the area you might as well stop at Trader Joe's and pick up some goodies. Confession--I kinda want to come back tomorrow! read more

This place is exactly what a cafe/coffee/tea shop should be. The coffee here is always smooth and flavorful, unlike many coffee shops in Denver who tend to serve coffee that is far too strong or bitter to be truly enjoyed. There is a huge selection of teas that can be steeped or bought in bulk. Real tea, not that sawdust-loaded-coffee-filter stuff that some places sell. They even do different tea-based drinks which are perfect for an afternoon refresher (or morning too). Steep also offers a decent selection of pastries and a handful of breakfast and lunch sandwiches and quiches that are made locally and delivered daily. The best part- there is no microwave involved. Finally, the atmosphere here is tranquil and relaxing, even when the place is packed. I haven't heard a song playing in here that I didn't recognize or enjoy. The staff are awesome too! Every single last one of them. If every other tea/coffee place had the same stuff, I would still prefer to go out of my way to come here for the cheerful and fun staff. After having a rather horrible day at home, I decided I needed a day out. Alone, without people that made me want to wring their necks. So I left the house on a mission to find an attitude adjustment. I went to the museum, then decided to get some cookie butter from Trader Joe's. Instead of fighting traffic I decided to park a block away and walk in. After doing some shopping I started walking back to my truck, as it was a perfect springtime sprinkling of rain. Then I saw Steep. Tea shop? I could use some tea.. I was thirsty. The place is warm and cozy, a handful of people talking in quiet intimate groups or working alone in comfy chairs. The lady behind the counter was as beautiful as she was nice, I ordered some Honey Sweet Tea (hot) and a pecan bar.... to go. Warning: The Pecan Bar should be savored. Sit outside under the beautiful shade trees and eat this, not in you truck as you are driving away, you might wreck... it's that good! The green health smoothie was AMAZING!; I can't wait to try the tropical fruit chai smoothy as well. Also, the spinach and feta frittata was perfect as well. They have a parking lot, which alone is enough to make me a regular. The staff is super friendly and had great suggestions. I generally come to coffee shops to study, and while I was welcomed to study here, it is not the most comfortable study environment for long hours. I would say Steep is more conducive to a shorter stay. It is definitely on the expensive side but the quality of food and beverage makes up for the price. They also have repeat customer incentive cards so that is a plus as well. As far as the physical environment, they are super trendy and seem to value sustainability. I hate that coffee drinkers get all the fun options - you know, most cafes have your standard "hot tea" and "chai latte" and that's about as exciting as it gets if you prefer tea to coffee. But Steep levels the playing field + that's why it's one of my favorite places. My go-to is the toasted coconut oolong latte (it's as good as it sounds both hot + iced), but I can't say I've got anything here that I haven't liked. I work from home, but don't have internet in my apartment, so I have frequented many area cafes. Steep is one of my favorites. I have been here probably 30 times and have never had a bad experience, and have also never seen anyone else have a bad experience. The staff is extremely friendly, knowledgable, and helpful. By the far the best staff I have encountered in all the cafes I have visited. The cafe is spacious, clean, and decorated with local art. The pricing is very fair, and you can get a cup of tea for under $2. Tea lattes and fancy drinks are more expensive. If you love tea, this is the place to go. If you don't know much about tea, ask the staff for suggestions. They won't steer you wrong. If you are not into tea, they also have good coffee. I haven't tried the baked goods, but I have heard great things. read more

The last few times I have been there, my lattes have been nearly cold. The second to last time, it took 10 minutes to get a barely warm latte, and there were no other customers in line. I don't mind hanging out and reading there sometimes, so I gave them another chance and specifically requested a 140 degree latte. Since I make lattes at home using a thermometer, I know well what 140 almond milk feels and tastes like. Clearly their quality control is slipping and the staff doesn't even use a thermometer, making it impossible for them to know what temp they are heating the milk to. Considering the coffee isn't that great to begin with, and now they don't use any quality control to ensure their customers are satisfied, I would go to just about any other coffee shop (except Starbucks of course). If you like, tea, they do have some unusual teas, and they seem to be able to heat water correctly. read more

I come up here every Friday afternoon before I go tutor. I have literally fallen in love with this place. It's aesthetic as well as a calm environment to study in! The baristas are always cheeful and let me get started on the drink that I always get. I would consider myself a repeat offender and have always been. For the past three weeks since I have discovered Steep, I have gotten the Earl Grey Lavender Cream and WOW it's delicious!! It was a lot better hot because you tasted more of the tea but cold was quite refreshing. That is all that I have ever gotten since Steep's discovery but when I try out more of the coffees and teas, I'm sure I won't be disappointed. Also, the WIFI is quite quick which makes the place even better. There is open seating outside and inside and despite how small it is, there are quite a few tables to work on! I love steep! I went for the first time a few weeks ago after it being recommended by a friend. I tried the matcha bowl and was in heaven. Not only is it beautiful but it tastes so good! I love stopping into steep! This is the closest "coffee" shop type spot to my place that offers free wifi. I stopped in twice while waiting for internet at my new apartment and will definitely return. First time I enjoyed the red rocks rooibos and the second time their earl gray creme. Both times I snacked on a warm empanada as well. Friendly staff, lots of small tables and seating, and LOTS of tea options. They have a fantastic variety of warm and iced tea drinks, most of which are hard to come by otherwise based on my four years of coffeeshop studying in Denver. I have enjoyed every food item I've ever gotten - from the homemade "poptarts" to the frittatas and sandwiches. The shop itself is cozy and well-lit with lots of small tables, perfect for studying or chatting with a friend. However, perhaps most impressively, every single time I've visited Steep, the employees are consistently warm, kind, and friendly. I have been to Steep many, many times and the consistent excellence is truly amazing. I like Steep, friendly staff, reasonable prices, good products, and it's few minutes walking from my condo. I came in last Thursday for a quick drink (hibiscus is my usual drink), and I sat outside on the patio with a friend. The barista came and gave me a free refill without me asking, he told me that he saw my cup was empty. Great customer service. Go get yourself some hot hibiscus refresher. Steep is great! I'm a big coffee drinker, but when I stop by here I'm always inspired to have tea. I'm not sure how they do it, but they have big pots of brewed hot tea ready to pour. My Earl gray was a bit stronger than I would prefer, and I thought it'd be nice to just have a tea bag so I could control the strength, but it was still a great cup of tea. My partner got a mate latte which was way too sweet for me (the menu indicates they add honey and agave!) but he enjoyed it. With my tea I had a mushroom empanada, with salsa, which was delicious! They have the normal coffee shop pastries like pumpkin bread or blueberry muffins, but also interesting stuff like the popsters or raspberry oat bars. read more

I finally found a great tea shop. Had a few different teas and the mate latte. Everything was great and staff is friendly. There is some parking behind the store. The only think lacking is more comfortable seating. There is plenty of work area and outlets, but chairs are uncomfortable and it was very cold inside!
