Really love the vibe here! Was staying at the hotel so it was convenient to just come eat (plus they give you a BOGO drink token with your stay). It was only the restaurant week menu. Food was solid, I was most impressed with the drink and atmosphere though, which I loved! It was also open mic night!

Loved this spot! It's tough to get a good drink in eau Claire but if you want one this is it. Fantastic cocktails and service. When we went they had live jazz music and the band was fantastic! I would go back in a heartbeat!

Wonderful place for breakfast! Great atmosphere, food, and service. We didn't wait long till someone asked what we'd like to drink as well as food. Waitress was great to give recommendations on items they liked as well as other customers liked. Food came out quickly and was delicious! Looking forward to coming back on our next trip to Chippewa Falls!

Eau Claire, Wi. This place is located in the Ox Bow Hotel and has kind of an upscale vibe. We came for an early dinner so we were seated immediately. The simple salad was just that, small and simple with fresh greens and a very tasty vinaigrette. The asparagus soup was amazing with a dab of lemon garlic creme fraiche. The hamburger was on the small plates menu but it was a normal size burger. The burger was delicious but probably does not make my top ten. The puck was cooked a perfect medium well. The meat had a fine grind which gave it a very tender yet unusual texture. The taste of the 1/2 inch patty was excellent, probably premium beef. The brioche bun was not protected on the bottom by a leaf of lettuce so it got a bit soggy. The lettuce was shredded and piled above the puck and had very little function, taste or moisture control. The grilled mushrooms were a real plus, rich tasting and not mushy. Swiss cheese was ample but not overpowering, The chicken pot pie: So good. No it doesn't come out in an aluminum pie tin, but rather a very nice pastry shell. Featured really fresh veges and shredded chicken in a very light gravy. Again, an item from the small plates menu that was not at all small. Chocolate cake was dense but not too sweet. On top, a toasted creme anise chantilly. On the side a coffee simple syrup. A nice chocolate dessert experience. The waitress asked "How is everything tasting?" I really hate that. But she only asked once and was so sweet she gets a pass, even if she forgot my wife's coffee. This was good because the wife realized it would be unwise to have coffee at that hour. Upon return for Fathers Day brunch we both ordered quiches, meat and meatless versions. They were unlike any quiche I have ever tried, thick egg pie with no discernible cream or cheese that makes a typical quiche so good. Stephanie took both quiches and ate the topping off them. I summoned the waiter and ordered an omelette with smoked trout. The egg was thin and almost crepe like. Lots of spinach in there but not at all objectionable. I enjoyed it. I fully expected to pay for my quiche. However they deducted the cost of my quiche AND did not charge me for the omelette. A magnanimous gesture indeed.

Totally enjoyed this restaurant! Service, ambiance, quality of food, and entertainment.

We went here for dinner and I had the best walleye I have ever had. My wife had the sampler plate and it was delicious.

Service 5/5: we did not make a reservation, but staff did everything to accommodate us and get us seated. I really appreciate how kind they were and once we were seated, our server was attentive, making sure our drinks were always filled and that we were enjoying our meal. Ambiance 5/5: stunning environment. I highly recommend you take a peek and look at the bar because it's a bunch of little pennies and it is the coolest sight to see (I believe I heard them call it the penny bar too). I really enjoy that you could see into the kitchen while the chefs worked and how fluid they all seemed to be in their craft. Food 3/5: I was really disappointed by the food. I ordered the roasted lamb as a big fan of lamb and it was overcooked and very salty. Also, the mint gelée coupled with the root beer glacé de viande was overwhelmingly sweet. The dish was lacking a balance of acid and spice. My fiancé ordered the tater tot hot dish and I am thankful that he ordered that because we ended up sharing that the rest of the meal. Even he could not eat the Lamb and he is must less picky about flavor profiles. The hotdish was a cheesy parmesan dream with sweet corn, peas, mushrooms and I liked the textural mixture of pork and veal. Overall, I'm not sure if I would come back for a meal here. I have seen that their pizzas are really popular because they are woodfired and I wish we would've checked that first, but I wanted a cozy elevated dinner and I'm still really bummed that we did not get that.

It happened to be a very busy weekend, and the Informalist was one of the few places that did not have a long line to get seated. Got in right away and seated for some brunch. The restaurant is spacious and well designed. It's a bit upscale, but perfectly capable of making people feel relaxed and welcome. We got greeted right away by the server and settled in with menus and waters. Our order wasn't complicated: some of the Custard Battered French Toast, a short stack of pancakes, and two eggs. I also ordered a London Fog Tea Latte (a little lavender, a little vanilla, and extra foam). It didn't take long for the food to come, but the London Fog took a while longer. The French Toast was amazingly good, and the pancakes and eggs were also very good. I was half done with my meal by the time my London Fog arrived, and the server was very apologetic (saying that the coffee shop was very busy). I might have been satisfied with that, but the London Fog was just okay. While there was some extra foam, the drink itself was flat, as if they just heated up the milk and mixed it with the tea. (They need to do a better job with polishing the steamed milk so that it creates a creamy texture, especially if they ar charging $8) Overall, a good experience, and a few tweaks would have made it excellent. Would stop again if I was in the mood for the French Toast.

This was while multiple other parties who arrived after us were served their food, ate, paid and left. It was quite obvious they forgot to submit the order or the kitchen lost the ticket. These things happen and I would never fault someone for an accident when they acknowledge and apologize. But they acted like nothing was wrong when I asked (after 35 minutes of waiting), and I was also quite surprised that they didn't offer any discount or food while we waited. The food was good, but definitely not worth the wait or the $65+ bill for 4 people just ordering breakfast and nothing else. Sadly may be our first and last time here, even though we had heard great things about it.

By the time we left there were a lot of people waiting for a table. The hostess and waitstaff were very friendly. Water glasses and coffee were kept full. The coffee was a little watery. I had the ham and cheddar omelette. I didn't want the hash browns so they substitute a salad instead. The salad was good. The omelette was very different. The eggs were extremely soft. It had sliced ham which was a little hard to cut through and the cheddar cheese was very sharp. The sourdough bread was good. My husband had the biscuits and gravy which he said wasn't very hot. My daughter in law said the hash browns were very good.

We split our checks, and our meals were around $13-$17. Three out of six of us tipped over $20, one paid for her $8 meal with a $10 bill and told the server to keep the change, one tipped less than $20, and one didn't get anything. In context, our discussion was about trying to one-up each other with our tips, and a random server, with no context, said something along the lines of, "If you guys are going to be tipping low, I suggest you don't speak so loud." We explained that we were not tipping low, but she then reported us to the manager on duty. We thanked our server for helping us, and before heading downstairs, we were discussing our tips while passing the manager. The manager stopped us and said that we didn't have to be rude and that we shouldn't be rude to her servers or we would be kicked out. I explained to her that we were not being rude, that we tipped her server well, and that we appreciated Reboot since the majority of us have been there often. I then explained that we were not trying to be rude to her or her servers, and I apologized if she felt that way. I explained that we would be downstairs hanging out and having fun if that was alright with her. She disregarded everything I said and repeated that if we kept being rude, we would be kicked out. We headed downstairs, and the darts were broken, which wasted many of our tokens, but we did not want to bother the staff more than we clearly already had, so we spent the rest of the night playing pool. I have never had a bad experience at Reboot until now and feel like, as customers, our feelings were not heard. We did tip well and feel as though we were being stereotyped for being teenagers. We believe it wasn't right for the other server to be rude to us or report us to her manager, especially out of context. The server that did help us we thanked him for his service and told him to have a nice night.
