We take group of 12 to 20 people to the Landing at least twice a month for dinner, drinks and music. We have been doing this for the better part of a year. We always make a reservation for the table on the dance floor. Tonight was unlike any other. Our reservation, called in several days in advance, for 14 was only set up for 8 and all chairs were on one side of the table. I asked the waitress why, and if we could get more chairs. She said you only called in for 13. Well ok possibly I don't know what number I called in for, but still 8 is not 13 or 14. She told me there were a lot of chairs on the patio outside. I said are you telling me to go outside and get my own chairs? she just looked at me. I asked again, are you telling me to go out to the patio and get my own chairs, and she repeated, there are plenty outside if you need them. So , we started to bring in chairs from the patio until another employee told us we could NOT bring the chairs in. We asked to speak to the manager, he didn't come out. 20 minutes later, still no manager . We ask again, no manager.. and one more time, still no manager. We ended up just taking another table and some bar seats, so that parts of our party were just all over, completely isolated from the others . Some of the group got discouraged and left even before the band started, or they could order anything. . Needless to say, I would give the service on this particular night less than two stars. And the manager less than one. The ambience is much like its sister restaurant, Fini's. The food is fairly typical bar food and not really remarkable. The parking is, almost nonexistent. Usually you have to park at discount tire and walk, but tonight there wasn't even parking there. Yet, the bar was empty. By the time the band started it's second set we were the only people left. We are hoping that this is a one of , and just an isolated off night. We also frequent Fini's landing and Cabali. Should we have another experience like this at any of these establishments, we will not be back. read more

My husband and I are from Bisbee and came to Tucson for a Costco run and to-do lunch. The place we had wanted to go to for lunch was closed so I did a quick search and decided this looked like a fun place to try. Ambience is good, very clean, gives the feel of a new establishment done right. Our waitress was okay, no suggestions on food or drinks but very friendly. Food was good and what I'd expect from a pub. Beers were cold and fresh but the mixed drinks were a miss for my husband and I- just too sugary. I would definitely go again but there were a few things I would have liked that didn't happen . read more

We have only been to the Landing twice, but it is enough to know that we will continue to come back. Both times we came on a Tuesday, where they offer $1.50 off on their tacos -- so why not take advantage of a slight break, right? The tacos are street taco size, but they sure do pack a ton of flavor. my wife orders the "Ensenada" tacos, which are grilled fish tacos with the accompaniments. I have ordered a few different things, from the El Guapo Dog (their take on a Sonoran Dog), which was very good, to a few different tacos. I have ordered the La Paz (breaded fish taco with a huge piece of fried cod), the Carne Asada taco (which was good, but fairly basic), and one called an Elote Shrimp Taco, which consists of Mexican street corn breaded crispy shrimp, roasted corn, pico de Gallo, Cotija cheese, Chubasco Aioli, and pickled red onion. I figured, "hey...give it a try". Well, this will nowt be my go-to taco; it was fantastic. i order all of my tacos on flour tortillas, but that's just a personal preference. We've also ordered their chips and salsa and are addicted to their home-made salsa, which has kind of a smoky flavor and is really, really good. I was told by our waitress that the sauces are all made in-house. Speaking of waitress, both times we've been there we've had a different server -- and both were great! Even though they are clearly busy (Tuesday nights they also have a trivia game event going on -- thankfully in the outdoor patio area so it's not loud and disruptive inside), they are always smiling and take good care of us. What I'm trying to say is, The Landing is well worth going to, and I can't wait to continue to try some other items on the menu 9though the Elote Shrimp taco will also be included in my meal! read more

This is strictly a review on the representation of this place being a seafood restaurant . Yes they have items that have shrimp in it, but so do allot of Asian restaurants , some Tacos that have fish, shrimp, it doesn't make the place a seafood restaurant. Most of the menu is in Spanish, don't understand why, we can read English just fine, and most of the items are related to tacos and such, not a seafood restaurant, it's another Taco/sandwich joint. I'm Spanish, from PR, and reading a menu, especially in Oro Valley, in Spanish is strange, some in English but allot in Spanish. When I saw the sign I got exited thinking it was a seafood place, went in and got a menu, only to see the same taco offerings that you can get fro Seis, Street tacos, etc. Call it something else, but don't show a sailboat, call it the Landing, then offer mostly Mexican food, please. read more

I was hopeful but disappointed. My husband had the special burger of the day $18 but not very special. The fries were good though. I had the blackened shrimp tacos on corn tortillas. The tortillas were very dry and not good at all. There was nothing special about these tacos. We each got a small side salad at $5 each. I got the Sage & Sunshine cocktail for $12 and I drank about 1/4 of it. Horrible. Although our server was really great....he never asked how I liked my drink. Oh well...too bad. Not coming back. We just paid $30 for four tacos and $6 for chips and salsa. There are Mexican food restaurants, much more well established, that are a third of the price and every bit as good. Service was good, the food was good and the facility is clean and well thought out. I understand that this is not your standard Mexican food establishment, though I will not pay those prices for small portions and food that is nothing more than good. Plenty of that around for much less money. If you can't be competitive, you will not last in Tucson. read more

It's nice to find a decent place to get food in Oro Valley, which has always felt like a rarity. Service was friendly, drinks were affordable, and the food was pretty good. I got the chubasco grilled shrimp tacos on flour tortillas with charro beans, and the shrimp were big and perfectly cooked. The beans could have used a little more flavor, and the tortillas were a bit small for all the contents on top of them, but overall everything was good. read more

Food was good. Wait staff was good. The bartender was terrible. As we were sitting, one of my dogs barked little because he was excited. He came out, and chastised us said he would throw us out if he barked again. I asked when we first walked in, and he would change the channel on the patio from some movie channel to the pregame as it was a football night. This is what was playing on all of the TVs inside. After asking multiple times he never did change it. I was the only person sitting outside. This bozo obviously didn't want us there so after an hour of the crummy service. We left. I'll never go back. Folks should understand this is not a dog friendly establishment. Tap and bottle just down the street is way better. read more

Don't listen to the low reviews! Solid local beer selection not massive but good beer on tap. Food was delicious, we had the Cuban sandwich and tacos. I came Saturday with my wife and I can't recommend this place enough. The food was delicious and it was a great atmosphere. We had Maddy as our server,and we loved her, she was super nice and very bubbly her service was great. I had the shrimp bowl and my wife had the vegan bowl and they were delicious. Taco Tuesday! $3 dollar tacos, basically the same price most taco spots charge everyday. I got two birria, carne asada, and a carnitas taco. The food came semi warm to cold. The tortillas were cheap. My husband and I tried this restaurant tonight. Our first impression was it had a nice atmosphere. The restaurant had a good vibe and steel drums playing live. Drinks came quickly and service was good. Our dissatisfaction was the food. We ordered the fish fry special and the pieces of fish where smaller then a chicken nugget and they only served 3. This is the 2nd time I've been here. First time was excellent. 2nd visit not so much. Service was very good....food not so good. "Seasoned" fries....not seasoned and overcooked. Description of salads on menu were quite different than what was expectedVery average ...would definitely not order again. Blackened ahi salad was cold ahi....and tasted blah. Great customer service, and waitress was very attentive to a good allergy. Unfortunately the chef would not make any exceptions to something to cook unwilling to sanitize his food station because of mid rush dinner. This place is pretty unique. Tiki bar in Tucson, with limited seafood menu(fish tacos). But, bartender was awesome, live music was different but entertaining. Overall a very good experience. Only had wings, which were excellent. Again, as unique of a place as you will find in Oro Valley. read more

The Landing was once a friendly local bar that a neighbor and I would frequent often. However, over the last 6-8 mos, their service has dropped off significantly. Many former patrons who now frequent other nearby locations have also voiced their concern and dismay about the service they have received. The Landing bartender(s) specifically seem to have a "we're right, customer is wrong" mentality, which is evident in their attitude and level of service. Their product is not of a quality they can afford to treat customers that way. I've spent a lot of money in other establishments that actually serve real food (Flemings) and have always received top-notch service. Tips are based on service. The most recent service at Landing was a 1/10. So bad in fact, I left a cash tip, and the patron next to me, after witnessing the level of service said "they don't deserve it, keep your money". Yet I left the tip anyhow. That's the problem with the service industry today. Give crap service, yet standing there--hand out for money. That patron was ultimately right. I've been to the Landing twice now. The service has been fantastic. The bartenders are friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. We made sure to order different things each time in order to get a good feel for the menu. Nachos, burger, seared ahi sashimi, Cubano, pork tacos, chips and guac, and French fries are what we've had so far. Everything is delicious, with its own unique flair. Portion sizes and prices are right on. Doing so well with being open a very short time, I can't wait to see how they do in the future! Highly recommend! read more
