The vibe is a little different - took us a minute to figure out how it all worked - but once we settled in, it was a good time. We ordered chips and salsa and guac, crispy fish tacos with cilantro rice (pretty bland, tbh) and refried beans, plus an à la carte chicken tinga taco (had a bit of a kick to it!). This is a small chain. The food is awesome, but both times the restaurant was extremely short-staffed. I GET IT. But the person who was apparently the manager on duty while I was there was absolutely out of his league. I'll leave it at that. For many years, I've been a happy customer at Seis Kitchen, going to the River Rd location and in the downtown location Mercado San Augustin locations. This Oro Valley location is closest to my mom so I've been going every 2 to 3 months since it opened. I love the interior. It's my favorite spot of all the crown of Seis Kitchen locations, including their newest one off of Tanque Verde Road. This particular location has an extensive bar menu in addition to the regular items that are served at the other locations. The Steph are really friendly and I like how they've changed the ordering system where you're an assigned a seat rather than looking for one. They have really good chips and salsa that come after you order. One of my favorite dishes is their nachos which my mom and I got today. The parking situation in the Oro Valley location is really very easy compared to all the other locations. If you're in the Oro Valley area there's a huge selection of tacos, salads, drinks, and they offer a kids menu too. I just have a positive food experience every single time. The only sort of negative thing about this location is it's a bit tricky to find. It's not easy to see off the road, but it's in the same parking lot as Dutch Brothers. Google maps doesn't quite give you correct directions, so I recommend if you don't know where it is to Google the Dutch Brothers on Oracle Road. read more

Stop by Seis Kitchen which serves Mexican food where you order at the window, which I had El Jefe burrito, it was so good. The chorizo wasn't overweight seasoned at all, just perfectly flavored. They weren't stinging with the guacamole either, which I really appreciate because I love me some guacamole. I also tried the super hot salsa it definitely brought the heat while still tasting really good. Overall everything was good, weather was perfect to sit outside and enjoy some good food. I've been going to the Oro Valley Seis Kitchen for years, it's definitely time for a review! I love that they now have the option to have full service at some tables. In the past you could only order at the front. I've always enjoyed how expansive this location is, lots of seating options which make it a great place to bring kids. There are beautiful views of the mountains from the outside patio too. In the spring, I attended a catered baby shower on the outside patio. It was well organized and I really enjoyed the pitchers of agua frescas! The complimentary chips and salsa make for a nice appetizer. The margarita flights are very fun and can definitely be shared! I always find the food to be good but I'm never "wowed" and for that reason I'm going with 4.5 stars. read more

Not sure why this location would get only 3.6 stars but we had a great experience here. I searched a bunch of good Mexican restaurants before coming to Tucson and Seis Kitchen caught our attention. We happened to stay in Oro Valley so decided to give this location a try. There was a long line and we waited for a good 10 mins before the staff can even take our order at the counter. The bottleneck appeared to be she needs to fill the drinks from the bar for whoever is ordering a drink, which slows the entire process. However, despite this small hiccup, the rest of the experience was AWESOME. We were first served with a basket of hot tortilla chips with two dipping sauce. Our order is 3 tacos (Al pastor, fried fish and grilled shrimp), and a surf and turf burrito. Everything is perfect and I do especially like the fried fish tacos as it is more flavorful and the crispiness complements the shredded cabbage and onions very well. All tacos come up with a choice of side dish and we picked grilled squash. Another great choice. We also ordered churros for dessert and they come up with both caramel and chocolate sauces. Everything I loved about this place has diminished. Happy hour was awesome and they decided to remove the best items. Sides were good sized portions, but are now outrageous priced and embarrassingly small. New burritos are mostly tortillas and very little filling. You can now only order happy hour items at the bar or the two full service tables. Food still tastes great, but no longer worth the cost. First time at this location and I think it may be the best out of all 3. The ambiance is great and there's a nice view of the mountains from the patio. The wait for the food was a little long but we weren't in a rush. The table beside us were waiting even longer and asked one of the employees how much longer it would be. I got a surf and turf burrito as a bowl and it was delicious. The portion was generous for the price. The steak was overdone but overall I really enjoyed the dish. I went to the Oro valley location off of Oracle rd. It's not easy to see it's off the road a bit in a nice shopping are. It was recommended to me by local hotel staff. It's supposed to a little more like a bistro There bathrooms were clean and they also have a nice seating area indoors and outdoor patio area.The service was fast and efficient. It's also about expectations, everyone is under staffed, so I always appreciate the service staff who are working. The parking is easy and plentiful. I'm sure the place can be very busy and parking might be a hassle. That just means it's good. I went twice for a late lunch and a Breakfast and it wasn't that crowded but I'm sure during regular times it would be. I enjoyed their Poc chuc.grilled chicken tacos and the manager/owner and I "talked story " and he made me an original style Margarita on the rocks with great tequila and an orange brandy. My wife and I wanted some tacos for dinner, so we decided to try Seis on N Oracle. I'd been to the E River location before for a burrito and margarita that were both pretty good, so we decided to give this location a chance. We made a mistake. My wife ordered the birria tacos, and I ordered the Al pastor tacos. The birria tacos my wife got weren't even what I'd call birria. They were really just shredded beef tacos with no noticeable birria sauce and no sauce on the side for dipping, plus the beef was too dry - and who puts guacamole inside a birria taco? No! My pastor tacos weren't much better. More pineapple than meat, and the meat wasn't as tender as I'd hoped. Plus, the tortillas used for both weren't very good quality and started falling apart easily. We also each got a Seis margarita, but they were pretty small, and we couldn't even taste any tequila. Our whole experience was underwhelming and disappointing. I doubt we'll ever be back. read more

Answered all of my questions perfectly and gave wonderful recommendations. The food came out surprisingly fast considering that they were getting busier for a Saturday afternoon. My burrito was phenomenal and HUGE. The shrimp tacos were also very tasty. The Jamaica was super refreshing but the Horchata was AMAZING. I recommend this restaurant for someone looking for a yummy quick lunch in Tucson. I work hard to shop local and when I am met with a great experience, I share it. Same is true when it's terrible. I'm shocked by our treatment at Seis Kitchen - Seis Kitchen Oro Valley (Seis Kitchen Oro Valley) tonight. I started by praising the branding noting their menu shows their commitment to the community. Does not hold true for their customers. While leading up to this moment was also not great, the biggest issue was when our family of 4 finished their meal before the 5th person got their meal 45 minutes from ordering after we asked if it was coming. The manager brought the dish over, mumbled, "sorry about that" with his head down, no eye contact, and when I called him out on the lack of sincerity in apologizing, I was told I was the problem for complaining and rude for bringing it up. I told him it's ok for stuff to happen, but the lack of acknowledgment and apology after spending $150 sealed the deal. Business officially lost. read more

I really love the atmosphere of this Seis location - it's light and airy, newer and has a great patio. We ordered tacos, chips and salsa and a salad and all were very good. The salad was huge, more than enough for 2 meals in my opinion, as were the chips and salsa. The salsas in particular were flavorful and fresh, we really enjoyed them! The variety of tacos was also fun, lots of choices and all were delicious. I took a star off for the service, nothing majorly bad, everything just took a long time and we had to request a few missing items, got the wrong dressing for the salad which took a while to get after asking, etc. if this aspect was faster/more accurate, it'd definitely be 5 stars. There is a spicier salsa that brings more heat but still ...lacks flavor. Biggest disappointment was the business model of 1/2 service while asking for a regular pre-determined tip. Order food at the counter, get assigned a table and they bring the food and utensils. Self serve sodas/water. Good luck if you need anything after that. Frantically flagging down someone delivering food to another table is not my idea of good service. Our food was more than half gone by the time we saw someone who could attend to our request. Is this really worth 20% or even 15% tip? I get streamlining for efficiency but patrons suffer half baked service after food is delivered. Won't be back. read more

Not sure what the negative reviews are about in here, Seis is a Tucson staple and this location hits the mark with every visit. I love the fast casual setup, grab a number after you order your food type deal. The staff was nice and dealt with a full capacity restaurant really well. Tacos are fire and reasonably priced for how gourmet their ingredients are. I am a big fan of their happy hour considering how much I love margaritas. The mountainside location is really relaxing and they even have a patio for you to enjoy your food outside. Overall the food is great, they have a variety of options for all Mexican food lovers and something for everyone! read more

This was the worst customer service experience I've ever had. We arrived and sat down at a table, waiting for the rest of our party before placing our order. Once everyone arrived, two of us went up to order, only to be informed by the rest of our group that a server told them we couldn't sit at the table because it "couldn't be reserved." Then, a woman sat down at our table, claiming she was allowed to do so. One of our group members had her sweater draped over the chair, but the server snatched it off and put it somewhere without even checking whose it was. When we explained the table was ours, the same server, along with another, came over, insisting we couldn't "reserve" the table, even though we weren't reserving it. They kept repeating their "rules" in a rude, dismissive manner, refusing to listen to our explanation. When I asked for the sweater back, the male server retrieved it, but the female server took it from him and shoved it at me. Frustrated, we decided to leave, but the female server arrogantly said, "Fine, leave," with a tone that made it clear she didn't care. The way we were treated was completely unacceptable. We had been looking forward to dining there, but after this experience, I won't ever return to any of their locations.
