Burgers are the best in the county and the service was excellent. They also carry the Athletic beer brand which is a delicious NA beer.

Since there were 4 of us we were able to order a bunch of stuff to share and have a taste of everything (my preferred way of dining out). You put in your entire order at once and the serve will course it out so it worked out perfectly for our group! Among so many interesting dishes I think the standouts were the carrot steak and the mushroom fettuccine! But honestly everything we ordered was good! I think the steak tartare was the only thing that was slightly underwhelming; I don't think it was super flavorful. We also got the potato donuts for dessert and those were fantastic and had such a great texture. The restaurant itself was gorgeous and felt really nice and intimate without ever feeling unapproachable. Our servers were great but it definitely felt like they were understaffed since there were a few times we wanted to ask a question or order more drinks and couldn't find anyone. Overall though definitely a great experience and would love to come back!

The standout item was the ragu - next time I come here I legit am ordering 2 ragu dishes - it was divine! Best pasta i've ever had! The fondue was just okay. I was expecting it to taste more like the alpine fondue from the melting pot but it sadly did not. It lacked flavor (needs garlic or more wine). For the price of the weinerschnitzel, I would think they could give some carb or veggie on the side. Yes it's a good sized portion, but the presentation looked a little sad. Lots of cocktail options, but I just went with the classic aperol spritz and it was perfect. I definitely will come again on special occasions!

What a terrific experience. Oysters. Radish salad. Wild boar kebabs. Lamb ravioli. Quail. Cabbage. One course after another had us looking at each other and saying, "I want to lick the plate." Our serving team was led by Rachel, who was outstanding. Everyone who brought a dish to the table was knowledgeable, friendly, and genuinely excited about the food. Even in a packed restaurant, they made us feel like we were the most important guests in the room. The décor is fascinating--eclectic, quirky, and full of personality. Nothing seems to match, yet somehow everything works perfectly together. The drinks were spectacular. They even had my favorite beer, Miller Genuine Draft (yes, I'm old school). And the bartender is a Knicks fan, which certainly didn't hurt. One final tip: visit the website and watch the video about the history of Mabel Gray before you go. It's a wonderful story and makes the experience even more meaningful. We'll be talking about this meal for a long time. Highly recommended.

The place is small and you can see the open kitchen pretty well. If i went back id ask for a table in the back so i could watch the kitchen the best. The food overall was spectacular, this must be the best restaurant in detroit. The radish carpaccio and the goat cheese bread were insane, so much flavor in every bite. All of the savory food was spectacular and the quality of the meats and the freshness of the veggies really shined through in every item. The service was top notch, every dish was well explained and my eating area was cleaned and silverware replaced whenever dirty. The speed of service was amazing, i eat quick and they brought my courses quickly while the group next to me was slower and they weren't rushed, clearly adjusted service for both our groups. I have two criticisms: 1. The chocolate cake dessert was lack luster and boring compared the rest of the menu. 2. I left hungry, the tasting menu was one entree or two smaller items short of the right amount of food. These criticisms are small and overall I had a spectacular experience. 4.7

My husband surprised me with a birthday dinner here, and I'm glad that we got to experience it. We arrived in advance of our reservation and grabbed a seat at the bar. The bartender brought us a glass of wine while we waited. It took about a half hour, but we were shown to our table for the night and promptly greeted by our server. All of the food looked amazing, both on the menu and with what people were ordering at other tables. We chose a variety of dishes - cauliflower, Brussels sprouts, squid ink orecchiette, octopus, mushrooms, and scallops. I would recommend all of them, but the standouts for me were the Brussels sprouts and the scallops. Flavors were unique and textures were especially on point with those dishes. Service was good, but we both felt like it was slow. There was a slight glitch in the beginning of the night where the host stand didn't mark that we had checked in when we actually had, which probably contributed to the half hour wait at the bar. Aside from those points, it was an impeccable night!

You'll want reservations because it fills up quick. We were promptly seated and greeted my our waitress, Mary. She was very attentive and knows the menu. She explained every dish and made excellent recommendations. We all started out with an Aperol Spritz, because what says Italy more than a spritz!?! We ordered a few appetizers, artichoke, squash and asparagus. The squash was unique. It had pickled summer squash, a vegetable that I never considered pickling. Simply delicious. The asparagus was perfectly cooked and the sauce really enhanced it. Great side dish. I did not try the artichoke, but my wife and daughter both said they were amazing. For mains, I ordered the Aragosta fra Diavolo, my wife the Cappelletti and my daughters the Carbonara. All were delicious. The fra diavolo had a nice light kick of heat and loaded with lobster tail. Excellent dish. I highly recommend Shewolf. It's a phenomenal restaurant that takes pride in their food, service and the whole experience.

It's one of the most important parts of a trip!! Out of every restaurant we visited and even out of our previous travels- nothing has compared to the apparatus room!! It was without question the highlight of our time in Detroit. If you go, you have to order the chicken and waffles. It is unlike anything you've ever had. I'm serious. We have been all over Florida and New Orleans, etc. etc. and I've never had chicken and waffles like this. And don't skip the Keylime pie.
