This is the Key Biscayne, Florida Crandon Golf Course Clubhouse restaurant. As the golf course, it is a public restaurant. The setting is wonderful in plain view of the golf course situated between the 1st 9 and bottom 9 holes. The food is good and well priced and the service is prompt and friendly. Both the golf course and this restaurant are well hidden secrets as they are located on the island of Key Biscayne which is a few causeway hops from Downtown Miami and the glitz of South Beach. I usually go for the Turkey Club sandwich and the Fish Ceviche. They don't disappoint.

Our office holiday party was held here - beautiful venue, friendly staff. Plenty of parking, plenty of seating both indoor and outdoor.

The restaurant is on a UM campus, and can be a bit of a challenge to find. It's also not quite a restaurant, more like a cafeteria. But the view is beautiful, and the food was pretty great. They have a good selection of items for lunch at reasonable pricing. I got a chicken Caesar wrap with tots. So many tots and SO good. My husband got the fish tacos, which were delicious. My daughter got the chicken tenders basket. It came with 4 tenders, and they were big! The fries were also great here. I can't speak to the bar, since it wasn't open when we were here.

Aaron is wonderful to work with, communicative, and super accommodating. Whether we needed to bring our own little desserts or to come see the space set up for someone else's wedding, he always made it work for us. He worked with us to customize our menu and we were super happy with how the food turned out. They can do a lot in house, cutting down the need for more vendors and planning and making the whole thing super easy. For us, buffet dinner, appetizers, dessert, open beer and wine bar, linens, tables/chairs, and venue rental were all included in one very reasonable fee. They're easy and pleasant to work with, and if that wasn't enough, the waterfront view is incredible. If you come during a grad student happy hour, just know that the place cleans up into a beautiful and classy venue very easily. A million thanks to Aaron and team for a wonderful experience start to finish!

First and foremost, do not waste your time or money coming here…read more As a Miami native, I was genuinely disappointed by both the food and the level of service. Unfortunately, neither lived up to expectations. We started with the "jumbo" wings, which were anything but jumbo. We received only flats, and they were some of the smallest wings I've ever been served. After bringing this to the staff's attention, we were told the manager would take 50% off the order. However, when the bill arrived, we were informed that the manager had already left and the discount could no longer be honored. Instead, we were given only the $4 happy hour discount, despite being promised otherwise. For our entrées, we ordered the brisket sandwich and the half chicken. Neither was worth ordering. The chicken lacked the crispy texture it was advertised to have, and the brisket was bland and without flavor. The sandwich was also supposed to come with truffle fries, but instead we were served cold, plain fries. After mentioning it, the solution was to bring us a side of truffle oil and Parmesan cheese and ask us to mix it ourselves. The service was equally disappointing. We asked our server twice for drink refills, but she never brought them. We eventually had to flag down another server just to get our beverages refilled. Overall, this was a frustrating dining experience from start to finish. Between the poor-quality food, unfulfilled promises regarding the bill, and inattentive service, this restaurant fell well below the standard I would expect from a Miami establishment. I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience deserves one. I sincerely hope management addresses these issues because the current level of food quality and customer service is simply unacceptable. and quality is embarrassing for miami.

I will note it can be on the pricey side for dinner but I've heard their brunch is a hit! Our family of 9 have a pleasant evening with good service! We couldn't give this an overall 5 star for simple measures including hot items presenting cold when brought to the table and price point but overall we were satisfied! We look forward to trying what their brunch has to offer!

Review of The Rusty Pelican -- Key Biscayne, Florida Aug . 15, 2926…read more I would give The Rusty Pelican in Key Biscayne a C - based on our recent experience. I ordered my steak rare, but it arrived closer to medium and had to be sent back. Unfortunately, it took approximately 30 minutes for the replacement to arrive. The second steak was better, but the delay was disappointing. The private room where our group of 18 was seated was another concern. The room was too warm (the management knew it kept say it will get cooler after 3 hour it did not happen ) and too small for our group, with two round tables that made conversation difficult. The overall atmosphere was not particularly comfortable for a group of that size. The service was also only fair. While the servers were courteous, the overall level of service did not meet the expectations I would have for a restaurant of this type. Considering the food preparation issues, the long wait for the replacement steak, the uncomfortable room, and the mediocre service, I would not recommend The Rusty Pelican for a group event or special occasion.

Prices are par of the course on Ocean Drive, take that as you may. They also have the 20 percent automatic tip and a prompt to add more. I ordered a glass of Cab Sab to avoid a cocktail that's more mixer than alcohol and that was actually pretty good. The wine was nice and full bodied. Next up was my $26 Americano Burger with fries. The fries were nice and crispy, and I had them with more than a couple of the little packs that reminded me of elementary school instead of a squeeze bottle like I'm used to from other restaurants. I asked for bbq sauce to dip the fries, and got it after I was done with the fries so I used it instead with the burger. I asked for said burger with no pickles and medium well. While the temperature of the burger was as requested, the burger was overly salty and the American cheese seemed like the squeezable "cheese whiz" type. Also guess what offensive condiment was in the bottom bun? Yes the pickles! While I started to eat the burger keto style (without the bun) I left most of it. While the waitress said she had put the order as no pickle, maybe the kitchen messed up my request.

The alfredo pasta had no seasoning to it tastes like it was noodles with heavy cream and salt. The atmosphere felt weird and felt more like a scheme running place rather than a genuine restaurant. Gave an extra star for the server who was very kind and polite otherwise would've been 1 star review.

It was their trivia night, I believe there was a $1500 pot if you win. Everyone seemed to be playing. We arrived to late to join. The place was packed yet there were only two servers. Our server was running around like a chicken with her head cut off. However she managed to keep up with out party of 9. There were times we were waiting for assistance however we could see she wasn't just sitting on her ass. We order burgers, flat breads, tenders and steak tacos. Steak tacos were horrible Burgers were delicious Flatbread were good Tenders definitely looked like they were frozen tenders from the grocer. The beverages were nice not too strong but not weak. We were kinda profiled however as a black person you get use to it. My husband and brother stepped out for a smoke break..although everyone else was still seated at the table. We watched security run out after them. We laughed cause they looked stupid. When security ran out there they pretended to be looking at something when they noticed they guys were right outside the door. Irish pub we didn't expect any less. However it was kinds funny how the guy darted out after them then aimlessly looked around after he realized they were smoking a cigarette ‍

I realized that I had not actually been to this location since it was The Playwright (or whatever it was called) 4 or 5 years ago. The updated interior is nice - very "pubby" - and they offer a good variety of seating from bar seats to high-tops to couches. Two things here that were standouts: First, the burger is one of the best burgers I've had on South Beach. So much so that I'm craving it again this morning. They've done a good job with the menu in that it still has all those bar foods that you look for in a place like this, but they've put some thought into elevating a number of items (e.g. the short rib poutine!) Second, the service was great. Our server (sorry, can't remember his name - a nice guy from Kendall) was very friendly and provided excellent service. As many reviews mention, this is definitely a place to watch a game. While we weren't there for this purpose last night, the TV setup is great and I could def see myself camping out there with a few beers on a weekend afternoon. As someone who lives in the neighborhood, I'll be back again for sure.
