    Missing TV

After my flight was delayed for 3+ hours, my Family of 4 walked into this restaurant because it looked like a place we could sit and enjoy our meal while we wait for a later flight(11 hours) to be exact. Our luck, the waiter says the kitchen isn't working because there was a glitch. To be nice I said let's wait and give it a chance since waitress said it would take 45 mins to an hour. I requested a beer and to my surprise the beer (modelo) tasted a bit off. Not good. I asked for chips and Salsa and waitress said "I'm going to charge you the same price(pork Nachos $26). Really Chips and salsa?!?! I'm sorry, I cannot recommend this place! Ambiance is a bit dim, one tv at a distance while others were taken down. Do not eat here unless it's your last resort.

Pretty average experience here. I waited for about 10 minutes to be seated, although it wasn't busy inside. Seems to be lack of staffing maybe. I sat at the bar, and saw there was a QR code to scan and order. I checked that menu out first on my phone. Then the waitress gave me a physical copy of a menu, but there was no explanation to order through my phone or through her. On the online ordering, it had a side caesar salad. I asked the waitress for one, and she was quick to say they don't do that here. Seems to be confusion with the two differing menus. I ordered a full size caesar salad, and it was very average. Not bad, but not great.

Easily one of the best airport dining experiences I've had. If you want actual local flavor instead of standard fast food before you board, come here. You have to get the poke and the pork rinds--they were incredibly fresh, perfectly seasoned, and exactly what I needed before a flight. Service is fast and friendly, too!

Service was slow, not the waitresses fault, she was alone and it was crowded. She was super friendly! We split a side Caesar salad , that had Mac nuts on top (genius idea), and the crab blt sandwich on a gluten free bun. Yes, it's an airport restaurant, and prices will be higher, but the food was solid and the service friendly. It also overlooks the cultural garden and huge koi fish.

Let me start off by saying this is airport food guys.. you aren't gonna get the ultimate dining experience because even tho this is a sit down restaurant they move quickly and efficiently that it feels like quick service. Everyone talks about how horrific the food was but I can only write on behalf of our two items, the mahi mahi tacos were flavored well and not dry at all, I did love the sauce it came with, just well put together with that fresh cilantro. Then the spicy crispy chicken was well liked by my husband and our waitress which I am butcher her name "Manet" was attentive, polite and always checked on us to make sure we were doing ok. Overall it's a good spot to grab something before you head out, don't make this your first meal when you arrive in Oahu.. that's why you flew all this way over here. This is where you stop to say goodbye gorgeous Oahu, thanks for the memories. The area is spacious so plenty of room to charge your phones, bring your luggage.. make the most of it right? Our waitress spread some aloha by gifting us some pineapple gummy candy and we left happy, bellies full and ready to go back home. Mahalo for your hospitality!

Good seating, nice service and huge portions of reliable local eats The burger with fries was best as was loco moco. Didn't really like the Mac salad Also enjoyed Kalua pork nachos- huge- spicy cheese which I like

How does The Local have such a low rating on Yelp? For an airport place, it's pretty great. Prices are a bit lower than on Waikiki; food is unimaginative and not the most flavorful but just fine (especially considering you're in an airport, for Heaven's sake). Decent selection of eats, cooked to order and big portions. The service that we experienced (you order on your phone and they bring it to you and check on you constantly) was really terrific - on par with that at a fine-dining place. And the view of the Japanese Garden - well, how are you going to do better than that in an airport anywhere?

Poke was great considering it's an airport restaurant. The staff were friendly. The Krab Club was 1/10 do not recommend.

Next time you leave the island out of HNL swing by The Local for some local-style food. I usually grab something on my way to the airport but today I was rushing and did not have the time. Lucky for me, the TSA Pre-Check line was empty. The loco moco was huge and almost couldn't finish it. Decent for airport food. Take out and eat the rest on the flight back.

Pretty good for an airport restaurant. Especially when compared to pricing at the Burger King. Spend the extra couple bucks and get the better food before you are eating stale crackers on a 5 hour flight. View looks out onto the beautiful courtyard of the Honolulu airport. waitress was friendly and efficient. Food was a good portion size and very tasty. I wasn't sure what to expect, but was very pleasantly surprised.

    Beyond Burger and Loco Moco
    Heather G.

Came here before our trip to LA. Waitress was an older aunty who wasn't very enthusiastic to be there. We ordered through our phones, my partner got the Loco Moco and I got the Beyond Burger. The Loco Moco was decent. I thought the gravy was good! It was rich and thick. I didnt try the patty but the mac salad felt heavy and not very tasty. The Beyond Burger was very disappointing. Not sure how but the patty was slightly raw, and pink in the middle. I highly recommend if you order this to ask for your patty to be cooked a bit more! The fries were even more disappointing. They were definitely not fresh, and soggy. Not sure if they were even left under a warming lamp. I love fries so this ruined my meal. A few years ago when I ate meat I had the pork burger which I remember to be good, but not sure if thats the case anymore!

Location: Kitchen Deja Vu is located inside the Blue Tropix Bar & Grill, which just so happens to be right across the Chili's from Pearlridge Center. Parking: Plenty! You can park anywhere in the Pearlridge Center parking lot Food: We ordered 5 items 1) pan fried pork cheese buns: 10/10 - pillowy soft bread expertly soaks up all the juices from the pork filling, perfectly pan fried bottom adds a bit of crunchy texture, pork filling was seasoned well and there was a decent amount of cheese inside as well (it was giving pizza flavor vibes), supposedly "spicy" but it wasn't too bad at all so this would be good even for those with a low spice tolerance 2) pulehu style short ribs: 10/10 - incredible smoked and grilled flavor, cooked and seasoned to perfection! They're not stingy either, nice portion size and a hearty amount of meat on each short rib too 3) big shrimp potstickers: 11/10 - succulent pork & shrimp filling filled to the brim of wrapper! Very on brand because these buggahs was massive and sooo tasty! Classic potsticker taste and there's a whole shrimp in there too, paired with their shoyu vinegar (I think) sauce and wooo this one was winnnahz ‍ 4) charsui udon: 10/10 - nice & chewy udon noodles and absolutely loaded with charsui and veggies that were so wonderfully stir fried allowing them to soften just a little but remain crispy, adding another layer of texture to the dish and ensuring you get a nice little crunch in every bite! 5) kau yuk (caramelized pork belly): 10/10 - big chunks of sweet & savory pork belly, but not as sweet as the name would have you think. It's actually perfectly balanced, you can definitely taste some authentic asian spices going on in there, and the meat was nice and tender Service: 11/10 We ordered take out but you can absolutely dine in if you wanted to, plenty of booths and/or tables to choose from. But I did wanna mention that we were lucky enough to meet Charlie, the owner! Really nice guy, after we gave him our order, our server Kyle took such good care of us. We ordered dessert and were disappointed that they ran out of creme brulee...my father ordered the cheesecake and thoroughly enjoyed it. My only reason for not giving five stars has to do with the outdoor seating. The burger itself tasted good as it was cooked with bread mixed in it to make it soft but once you started eating it, the burger fell apart. The bun was thin so it was messy as the sauce and burger started falling out and you needed a lot of napkins. Some people like it messy but it's not my thing. The onions and pickles were a perfect match. Too much American cheese. ________________________________________________ The Premium Purists: 5/10 I was looking forward to trying the burger at Forty Niners and hoped it would be an old fashioned/traditional style deluxe burger. It definitely had the look and right toppings but the patty was a little disappointing. After my first two bites the patties crumbled into pieces and the texture seemed off. It was too mushy and lacked good beef flavor. After learning they mix breadcrumbs in their burger patty, I think the patties I got were not mixed well and the ratio of beef and breadcrumb was off. That is probably why the texture was off, it lacked beef flavor, and crumbled. I would honestly give it another try and go with a single patty. ________________________________________________ The stack analyst: 7/10 Tried the double cheeseburger(dirty style) at 49ers and it was delicious. The fried pickles were the highlight for me. I love fried pickles and they worked really well on the burger. They also didn't hold back on the caramelized onions, which added flavor. The burger had four slices of cheese, so it was definitely rich. The patty had a nice sear on the outside, it did fall apart though. I would've liked a little more salt, but I know that comes down to preference. Bun was nothing special, just your standard setup, but it got the job done. I'd definitely come back and order it again! ________________________________________________ Double stack daddy: 6/10 The burger had a solid foundation, but it was missing flavor and could've used more seasoning. The biggest downside was the bun--it fell apart after the first bite, making the rest of the meal messy. Not a bad burger, but it didn't stand out, and there's definitely room for improvement. ________________________________________________ Bruddah big buns: 4/10 Da patty was mushy. ________________________________________________ Captain messy hands, keeper of the drip: 8/10
