Today was the very first time I had food at The Local. Immediately felt welcomed. Service was immediate and with a smile. Because I was on a tight schedule I had to ask for my food to go. I ordered the Portobello sandwich but asked for bread rather than an English muffin which is how it is usually served. Also got the golden smashed potatoes. I cannot say enough about the Sandwich. It was absolutely delicious! Smashed potatoes were also very tasty. Friendly service and a cute cozy atmosphere makes this place a definite "go to". I will stop in again for sure. Only reason I gave 4 and not 5 stars is that the prices are are on the higher end. My sandwich and potatoes ( and just water) was $17 and change. With tax and a small tip $20. That said, I would go back to sample more of their healthy menu. Gluten free and regular pancakes and so much more on their menu... Recently my wife and I spent a night in Prescott. Naturally we needed a place for breakfast the next day. My wife wanted me to look at this place and the first thing I saw was the word, "organic." While I try and live a somewhat healthy lifestyle, organic tends to leave me wanting more. Begrudgingly I agreed to go and I'm glad I did!!! This place is awesome. My wife had an omelette with a side of the green chili gravy, simply amazing!!! I had the thin pancakes with real maple syrup and a side of sausage, unbelievable!! The gravy was so good we ordered more to take with us. Honestly I wished we had bought a gallon of that stuff it was so good. Don't let the word "organic" scare you, The Local is a great place, we will be back the next time we are in town. Can't wait! read more

I travel 15+ days each month and I DREAM of finding places like The Local in every town I visit. Great food, comfortable seating, smiling faces on all of the staff, prompt service, and a hoard of locals which treat the place as their home. This place was an exception to the norm. So much so that I genuinely questioned why everyone in the place was so happy. After my meal, interaction with the staff, and the check, it is easy for me to see why everyone is smiling. What a place. I've been there twice now and have to say that both times the visit was exceptional. The first time we visited, it was for lunch and I had the BLT thing with pimento cheese. Very good and unusual. I did order an iced peppermint mocha latte with it and it too was fabulous. (Missed my morning coffee that day ). The second time I went I had breakfast. The French toast was bomb-diggity!!! Had an iced peppermint mocha latte that day too. Wait and barista staff are amazing, friendly and prompt. First off, the local has both indoor and outdoor seating so if it's a nice day, it's wonderful to sit outside and enjoy a meal. I find their food very fresh and with a wide range of options from vegan to carnivore. The service, while friendly, is sometimes a bit scattered. Sort of like, " oh yeah, I forgot your water again. This place was a good find! Unassuming from the outside, yet the inside is colorful, warm, and bright. The staff was so friendly, smiling and talkative and ready to give recommendations. Their menu has a good sprinkle of classic favorites and their flare added in. My server suggested for me to get my smashers "loaded" - which were so good! I went to The Local with my wife this week do to her suggestion. It is a large restaurant and is nicely decorated. The omelotte was good, but the price was a little high ($17 per omelette). For two breakfasts (omelettes) and a cup of coffee, the bill was a little over $42. Service was ok, but a little slow and only got one coffee refill. Don't think I will go back, not worth it. read more

We love the food. We would eat there a couple times a month. The green chili sausage gravy is a favorite. We ate breakfast there a couple weeks ago. At the end of the meal the "manager" picked up my credit card along with the check. I noticed him walking back and forth in the dining room with our card. Then our waitress finally brought it back to me. The tab was around $46. Later that day I looked at my online banking and saw a charge from the Local to my card for $81, and that it was being reversed. I thought it was strange that nobody mentioned it. Mistakes happen, but I would expect to be told if they mis-charged my card. I called the restaurant and asked for the manager in order to verify that a mistake was made. The manager got on the phone and said he remembered the transaction, he reversed it so what was the big deal? I said I wished he would have informed me so I wouldn't be surprised or concerned when I saw the transaction. He said "what do you want, for me to kiss your ass?" I ended the call and sent an email to the restaurant asking for the owner to contact me. No contact. Hard to imagine going back with so many other options in Prescott. Kinda sad. read more

I've only been once, but it's already my favorite!! I took my 5 kids here last Sunday for lunch, the staff was incredible! Funny, friendly and helpful. They have fun topic cards to entertain you while you wait. The food was fresh and delicious. (Nothing heavy or unhealthy) My younger kids loved the fat pancakes and the older ones got a sandwich with a runny egg on top. It was all delicious! The waitress/hostess even held by 7 month old so I could eat my food! I could not say enough good things about our visit. read more

We went here based on the great reviews. The GPS took us to the location easily. We had the Breakfast burrito with the verde sauce on side and it was amazing! The portion size is large and i had to take half to go since it comes with a side of fruit. Very filling. The vanilla latte was served in a large glass mug. It was perfection! The staff was helpful and friendly. All the staff had masks and anyone to leave a bad review for judging how someone wears one is a sad individual. Also fake review if you would put fake stats in Yelp review of a restaurant. The restaurant is clean and staff is friendly. They even give a free pastry to kids if they would like to choose one. Sadly despite the great reviews we were not impressed. We came here for breakfast and have a short 10 minute wait, but there really is not anywhere to wait unless you stand outside. The sidewalk outside is narrow and there are tables and chairs outside the restaurant, and inside there are so many tables that your butt is either in someone's face or you're standing in front of the door. We ordered drip coffee and chai tea latte. Those were both good, the chai tea latte was huge. I didn't realize it was an entire water sized cup, so very good value for the price. For breakfast we got the Dutch pancake which we order everywhere we go that has one. This one was thinner than I would say they normally are and the lemon curd was way too tart. We had to wait to flag down our server to get some butter and syrup for it instead. We both ordered the breakfast burritos. I wish I would've know that there would be an entire bag of cheese in there and I wish I would've taken a picture to show how much cheese was inside. It was beyond disgusting I could not even eat it. I have to open it up and scrape all the cheese out. I got mine with smashed sweet potatoes wish I also wish I would've known they were seasoned with cinnamon and very sweet (it says that no where on the menu and neither did our server tell us). So imagine a breakfast burrito with a bag of cheese, cinnamon sweet potatoes like you would have at thanksgiving and maybe one egg- yes not pleasant. My boyfriend ordered the breakfast burrito as well but with the Chile gravy on it and they also put so much cheese on his he had to scrape it off. I feel like we only had maybe one egg each in ours and both had to open our burritos up to make sure we even had egg in it. His was 75% potatoes, 20% cheese and 5% egg. Our bill was also $43 dollars and we both left hungry as we couldn't finish our meals. read more

This is a very fun, happening place. They have a lot of really neat art on the walls and a very bright, sunny atmosphere. The food is really good. You can get breakfast or lunch so there's plenty of options. And I am all about options. It's a bit noisy so it's hard to chat which is why it gets 4 instead of 5 stars. Also service can sometimes be slow but that's because they are busy! The staff is very nice and accommodating so I have no issue with them at all. Located not far off the main road in Prescott the Local offers a variety of breakfast and lunch options. We stopped in quickly after a morning of struggling to acclimate to the altitude. We were greeted with friendly staff and quick service.
