Very nice place and great hair cut by Taylor! It was a pleasure finding my new salon.

I can't recommend Sarah enough! She listened to what I wanted and knew exactly how to do it! I especially loved getting a little lesson on how to achieve great curls everyday! She's awesome!! read more

I popped into the Local by chance a few months ago and it's quickly become my go-to place whenever I need a haircut. Sometimes it can be hard to find a place that does a solid men's cut, but the Local has it on lock. Everyone is warm, friendly, and professional. It's not terribly pricey either (great for the starving artists in the neighborhood). Ask for Kayleigh. She's super awesome. read more

This is the most unprofessional and uneducated bunch of stylists I have ever encountered. Not to mention the attitudes and rudeness from employees. I came here the day before my birthday and asked to go a light light brown, almost blonde. I brought reference pictures and everything that would guide the stylist for the best possible result. As the consultation continued I was told that a balayage would give me the best result for what I wanted so I hesitantly agreed. The stylist told me numerous times that the color might not take as lightly as i'd want so not to hope for so much, which is understandable given that my hair was normal brown. She too was in a rush because she had clients waiting after me so she styled my hair and sent me on my way, I "loved" the hair but didn't check it until I got home that day. There were very clear LINES and BLOTCHES and SPOTS on my hair near my roots and serious bleeds all throughout my hair. I called and they gladly agreed to fix it. I went back the next day and got toner put in and so she rough dried my hair and I was still unhappy with it. The stylist told me not to worry that with a couple washes within 2 weeks time it would fade and blend "beautifully." 2 weeks later and Im still a hot patchy mess, I look ridiculous. I call the salon and ask for the manager, Rosie, and she agrees that she can fix my hair back to its original brown color. A day later she calls me saying that she'll have to charge me for the correction because its past their 7 day hair rule. I continue to explain that I was told by her stylist, Miranda, to wait 2 weeks and let it "fade." Rosie was having none of it. She told me that, "some people just don't look good with certain hair colors." I was immediately put off and flat out disappointed. I paid a lot of money to be made fun of and not taken seriously. Rosie was not listening to anything that I was trying to tell her that her stylist had said to me the day of and I told her she was being defensive in which she later responded saying, "lets try and get this whole situation figured out so that we can fix your hair and you stop calling me defensive or whatever other names you're going to call me next." EXCUSE ME? You own a business and you're going to be a passive aggressive teenage girl, okay. I simply hung up and am NEVER coming here again. I do not recommend this salon to anyone who values their hair or their dignity. read more

Allison is AMAZING. My hair is very fine and not just anyone can cut it well. She not only gives me a perfect cut every time, but she's an artist with color as well! I recently started doing wild colors on my hair, and most recently we went for the "oil slick" look. That was last Tuesday, and I literally have not been able to leave my house since without every person I come into contact with telling me how amazing my hair looks! I mean, people are obsessed! I sincerely couldn't be happier! Thank you, Allison!! You're incredible!! read more

Susannah Craft is the best! She has outdone herself again by cutting even morevoff my length and I love it! Took years off of my face! Thank you so much! read more

I got a deal through Lifebooker for a cut, deep conditioning, and blowout by Sarah, and I was greatly impressed! She really knows what she is doing! She gave me helpful tips on how to style and manage my hair in the morning, how to keep my blowout looking great, and even tips on how my hair should be done (but I didn't feel pressured into making these changes). She suggested I try some warm caramel colored highlights, and long layers. I ended up getting the layers she suggested and it looks great! My hair looks so much more healthy and bouncy! Will definitely be going back to Sarah! read more

Loved Susannah! She listened to what I was going for, I was vague but she came up with good suggestions and did a fabulous cut! I'm happy to find a new stylist! She'll be my person for a while! read more

CURLY HAIRED PEOPLE! Alyssa is the real deal. I have searched high and low in this crazy town and finally found a hair dresser who knows her stuff AND cares! Kayleigh is f*ing amazing and I'm not just saying that because she's my cousin... I don't care how related you are to someone if they're bad at something you tell em kindly and never go back for that again but she's awesome. She's been doing my hair for going on 5 years now and I've never been disappointed. I've had my hair be in terrible condition and she took me from terrible to tremendous... truly. I've gone from almost black to platinum blonde, to pink and back and anything I want, she makes it happen. She's straight up if she thinks something won't look good which I think is super important because who wants their head to be messed up? But if she can do it she'll make it happen and take her time doing an amazing job. Trust me I've sat in the chair for up to 6 hours going platinum and it was worth wait, I was forever in love. So go to Kayleigh because she's amazing and you'll never want to go to anyone else read more

The Local Salon - Hair Salons Near Me - Burbank, California

Cici is the greatest cut/color artist out there. I'm a TV/film actress, and she knows her stuff--especially customs my hair to look great for the camera. Every time I show up on set, the hair/makeup person asks me if there's anything they need me to do, and they comment on what an awesome haircut it is. I usually don't need anything except hairspray to keep it in place. Cici's cut makes it easy for me to style at home in under 10 minutes, AND these on set professionals keep giving me compliments. The best hair experience I've ever had. Plus, she's the sweetest, and we always have a good time hanging out! read more

Sarah really listened. It was my first Diva cut and such a different experience. I could actually see the shape evolving as she cut my hair dry. It's like she made space for the individual curls to shine. I'm looking forward to testing different products and also excited to see what my next appointment brings. She did a great job. read more

The whole staff was so friendly and accommodating during my recent visit here. I got my hair colored and cut by Kayleigh..... She is amazing. Oh my word. My hair looks fantastic. I highly recommend this salon if your in LA. read more

I have been a client of the adorable Sandra D.'s for many years. She is an expert in cut and color and is a genuinely kind person. I'd follow her anywhere! The Local is a gorgeously designed salon with a welcoming, relaxed atmosphere - the vibe is industrial chic (and I love that they feature artwork by local artists). Rosie, the owner, is a sweetheart. I love this place because it is über-cool but with ZERO attitude. And the organic hair products are the icing on the cake! read more

I am writing this review to express my gratitude for the Local salon, and my hair stylist Alyssa. I called to make an appointment for a DevaCut but with special conditions, I wear Hijab which means I cover my hair and I need to cut my hair where its women only! They were the first one's to accept this and to create the perfect atmosphere for me to cut my hair!!! I was so happy and exited to go! When I went to my appointment, they kept their word and made it happen. The best part is when Alyssa Kim took care of my curls genteelly with all the patience in the world! I enjoyed my time with her and when I left I left SO HAPPY! When my hair dryad at home I was even happier!!! Thank you Alyssa and the Local salon! I am so impressed! Forgot to mention the interior is awesome too! I highly recommend the salon, specially if you are a curly girl :) read more

I've been going to Kayleigh at the Local for two years now. She is a hair wizard! Not only is she amazing at both color and cuts, she is also super down to earth and fun to talk to...and let's be honest half the battle of finding a good hair dresser is finding someone you truly enjoy spending an hour or two with. I wanted to go back to my natural lighter brown with a bit of highlights after having been dyed dark for so many years....and I've never received more compliments on my hair! She has also styled my hair for auditions or events...this girl is a badass and does it all. I will never go to anyone else! read more

Rosie is the best! Been going to her for over 10 years and I always get compliments on my healthy, sparkly sexy, shiny hair. Go! Go now!

I love this salon. Great cutters. No pounding music. Very warm, woody decor with high ceilings. My new favorite.

Loved this salon! Sterling did a really good job on my balayage today. I'm really happy with the result. If you're in NoHo and looking for a cool and artsy salon with nice staff, this is definitely the place to go! read more

I love this place. I wanted to get highlights/balayage for the longest time, but I was always so afraid since my past experiences with highlights at other salons were so bad. But I came here and I was not let down. I got my highlights done by Taylor. I needed help choosing a color for my highlights since the undertone for my skin is a mixture of pink and yellow, and she helped me find the perfect color. Taylor is so sweet and my hair looked so natural and it was styled beautifully. I received so many compliments from my friends and family, and I couldn't stop looking at my hair. It was exactly what I wanted. I'm due for another appointment just to add some more toner as it wears off slowly over a few months, but even so my hair still looks amazing and is not orange or brassy at all! Also the overall environment of the salon is great. This will definitely be my go-to salon for when I want to get my hair colored. read more

The Local Salon - So natural and exactly the look that I wanted. Color totally suited my skin tone as well. - Hair Salons Near Me - Burbank, California

Beautiful, new location with a collection of very talented hairstylists. I've had the pleasure of getting color and cut services from Sandra D and Rosie (the owner) for the past 10 years and am always so amazed that either can completely capture what I want done to my hair. I will follow them to the ends of the earth to get my hair done!! I was skeptical of the new organic hair color because I have the coarsest gray hair, but was so excited that it worked!!! I am so happy for Rosie (and her husband Tony who runs the barber shop upstairs) that they have achieved their dream of opening a salon that encompasses their high standards of service. You can tell that every detail was considered when they installed all the latest equipment and stylish furnishings. Such a cool, LOCAL place that NOHO is lucky to have as an addition! read more

Lets start off by saying that I'm not very picky with my hair, hey its hair it will grow! I'm very adventurous! So the pixie craze trend bug bit me and decided to go to any random salon to get my hair pixie cut, to my great disappointed I did not get the result I wanted went to another salon to get it fixed did an okay job but still not what I wanted. then I had the great luck of finding The local. I liked the place since I walked in but the real test was the hair cut. And I'm so glad that I got a great stylist, Kayleigh, she did a great cut! She made me happy with my hair again! I love styling it and doing it everytime. it has shape, movement, bouns, volume and I get compliments all the time! Even now it's grown out a little bit it still looks great. I came in to fix the uneven haircut that I got from elsewhere. Not only was the haircut still slightly uneven after the "fix", I was charged $80 for what essentially was a very simple & super quick trim. It didn't help that Ritchie wasn't very friendly and almost acted as if he would rather not bother with me. read more

Brittany is the best! She is highly personable and easy to work with in all things hair related. She helps me decide on what style will suit me best when she cuts my hair and is always right. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for excellence. read more

Amy Edwards. Woman? Myth? MAGICIAN! I've been seeing Amy for a bit over a year. I've gone from deep brunette, to blonde pieces, to crazy colors-and back again. Each time I say it's my favorite but THIS time she was able to get me exactly what I wanted. It took a few visits because you can't go in with dark hair and expect lavender, but she got it in 2. Without damage. I love every woman at this salon, it's like my cheers without alcohol-and I'm so excited to see it grow. And ladies if you're gonna fork over dough for your 'do'- BUY THE PRODUCTS. People ask me all the time how my hair still looks so good and it's all about Davines. My counter is full. 1) they smell amazing, 2) your hair feels and looks amazing. read more

Sarah was awesome! Did exactly what I wanted and the venue is super chill and relaxed. Couldn't be happier!

Cute salon. It was my first time there when I called in to make my appointment I asked the receptionist for someone that is good with styling and cutting short hair. She said "Oh I have just the person for you!" Ok, great! So I go in for my appointment the following day. The lady that cut my hair was very nice and sweet. I SHOWED her 3 maybe 4 times the way I like my hair cut I left the picture out on my phone ( so there wouldn't be any mistakes or confusion) I explained I wanted it all one length and more of a "clean up job" simple right? No, I really got the complete opposite :( short around and more hair on top :( I paid I tipped but I wish she would of just did what I asked . My hair is already short. Now I'm left with a weird bush on top of my head and waiting for the sides to grow out to get it cut the way I want. I really wanted to like this salon to work out for me since it's close to my house read more

I've been going to this salon for about 2 years. I usually get my hair cut and colored by Kayleigh who is amazing, but I thought she had moved out of state already so I scheduled a color with Sarah. Sarah was really sweet, worked really quickly, and gave me exactly what I was looking for. The balayage really lightened my hair overall and I'm back to feeling like my blonde self again! read more

I hadn't been to a salon in years, and I'm so glad I took the plunge and decided to try The Local! On a whim, I booked an appointment with Susannah and hoped for the best. She was absolutely lovely - answered all my questions, took the time to assess how to cut my hair based on how I usually style it, and was a lot of fun to talk to! My hair is naturally curly, but I straighten it about half the time. She took the time to show me how to style it both ways and talked me through each step, which was much appreciated. Overall, I was thrilled with how my hair turned out and I'm planning on going back to Susannah when it's time for a trim! read more

I can't begin to tell you how fantastic it feels to look in the mirror and feel more like myself again. Rachel met with me prior to my appointment to patch test and agree on the color. We chatted about the shape I wanted and then I sat in her very comfortable chair while she worked and constantly checked in with me to make sure I was comfortable. When I had my retouch done I was able to schedule it when I would already be at the salon for my hair appointment...great work and convenient. It doesn't get any better than that!!! read more

Love this salon! I've been coming here for years. I've gone blonde to red and back to blonde, long to short and back to long. The stylists here really listen to you and have the skills to make your hair dreams come true. They've given me great advice about techniques and products to keep my hair looking healthy, too. They're also super nice, always offering beverages and even stepping out to go pay my parking meter. And the salon itself is such a cozy, cool space. Makes you want to forget your other plans and just stay and hang all day. Best part about the salon- it's super affordable compared to other salons of similar caliber! The Local Salon has such a great vibe to it and I'm so glad that I finally found someone like Kayleigh! I have always had problems finding someone who can properly cut, color, and style my super straight Asian hair. Either the cut was too blunt or the color was never the right shade. However all my problems went away when I met Kayleigh! My brother-in-law highly recommended her to me and I've been seeing her for more than a year now. Now my husband, sister, and friends have gone to get their hair cut/colored by her! Every time I go in for a cut/color Kayleigh knows exactly what we did the last time and always offers to change it up if I wanted to. My current hair shade required multiple visits but I was patient with it and we achieved a beautiful color. I usually get tons of compliments after I get my hair done. We also had the privilege of having Kayleigh as the hairdresser for our wedding! I went in a couple of times for hair trials and she made sure that I absolutely loved the results. She styled hair for my mother, MIL, and bridal party. She even traveled all the way to Santa Barbara for us and stayed until the afternoon to make sure my hair still looked flawless for our evening ceremony. Everyone looked so beautiful and my hair turned out even better than our trials! I couldn't be happier with my choice and can't thank her enough for her amazing work. read more
