Excellent, a hidden gem on Staten Island, the week staff was wonderful. The food selections were abundant and hearty, something for everyone. Drinks were strong and the food came in a very timely manner, which is very important to hungry people like me. I definitely recommend it and I would definitely go back, I hear they have a fantastic lunch, I'll have to check that out also.

Came here for early dinner w my sister (make rsvps since they are only doing outdoor seatings right now). They have the Wednesday special which is a whole lobster with mash/veggies for $21. We also ordered a HH appetizer, the pepper jacks famous steak tips served w blue cheese and some carrots/celeries. We enjoyed our meal and topped it off with a lemon mascarpone layered cake which was SO good!!! Definitely ended our meal right. Our female hostess was good, only complaint is probably not getting water filled often thru out our time there. A male server did oddly ask us if we were done with our appetizer when there was clearly still half of those steak tips left. But aside from that, great spot!

SECOND, the food is just as amazing! I was so happy hahah. It's been a long time since I enjoyed a restaurant for more than just their food. We came here for my boyfriend's parent's anniversary and the server's were wonderful and honestly very thoughtful as well! They were very attentive to our table and refilled our waters often. I also say this because when my bf's parents ordered the halibut to split, they had brought out their meal in two individual plates that were beautifully plated, you would think they ordered separately! They also took our group picture! :) We ordered 2 orders of the Basement Snacks: For Two, 2 orders of their raw oysters for appetizers. For my entree I ordered the Shrimp Carbonara Rossa with a side of Asparagus. Everything was so good. Their buffalo wings were perfectly marinated and not too saucy, their ribs were so tender and the meat fell straight off the bone! My carbonara was also delicious. For dessert they even gave an anniversary treat which was so sweet. I ordered a Chocolate Cappuccino which was also great. 11/10! Wonderful and would recommend.

We had a lovely night out with a couple who are our long time and good friends and we looked forward to this evening! However, there was a problem at the beginning of the evening that is unacceptable... my husband went to park the car, our friends were waiting at the bar for us, I walked in first. My friend ordered me an Aperol Spritz and my husband a diet coke. My husband does not drink and has been very successful with his sobriety for many years. The bartender, (I later found out her name is Maureen and apparently she is a manager there), misunderstood the drink order so my friend reiterated that we wanted a diet coke and an Aperol Spritz (two separate drinks). The "diet coke" arrived in a soda glass with a lemon wedge (just like a diet coke would) and the Aperol Spritz arrived in a cocktail glass. My husband took a sip of the "diet coke" and asked me if it tasted like there was liquor in it. Sure enough there was. We immediately returned it and the other bartender confirmed that it was a mix of Aperol Spritz with diet coke in the soda glass. My husband confronted the bartender and told her about her grievous mistaken and full disclosure, he said this is a "big f$%ken mistake you made". She took absolutely no responsibility for her error and shouted at him that she "was told to make a diet coke with Aperol Spritz". Truth be told, we clarified the drink order to her and why would she present the "diet coke" in a soda glass if it indeed was a cocktail. She went full "Karen mode" on him when she should have apologized. My request is that she re-trains in customer service and her ability to mix drinks! Like I said above, the food was excellent, the waiter was great, but this error is a serious error. People do make mistakes, but please acknowledge your mistakes and take care with serious issues. The dining experience was great, but I cannot give a 5 star due to the error.

My experience with this restaurant was a 10/10 from the moment I called to place the order. The women who took my order was very kind and helped me determine exactly how much food I needed for my party size. The food was ready upon pickup and the same woman carried my order and put it into my car because my son had fallen asleep in the car on the way over. She refused to let me carry anything, seeing that I was pregnant. She even took my credit card inside the restaurant and came back out with all the papers so that I would not have to leave my car. In addition to the amazing service, the food was OUTSTANDING. Every guest at my party, including myself, was so impressed by the quality and flavor of everything we ordered (smoked chicken, corn bread, pulled pork, potatoes with bacon). This restaurant is about 30 minutes from my home and required pick up, but I would order again in a heartbeat. I have never in my life left a review for anything, but I felt the need to write this one based on my extraordinary experience. Thank you for a wonderful experience!

We ordered the Forest Ave roast beef sandwich and the fried shrimp appetizer with bang bang sauce. The shrimp had a nice crunch, and the bang bang sauce was good, but its flavor was a bit mild and plain; some garnish like chives can definitely elevate this appetizer further! Our sandwich unfortunately came without the bacon jam and maple bourbon, which meant it was just roast beef double dunked with Gruyère cheese. Unfortunately we didn't realize it until near the end, and although our waitress apologized and brought us a side of the bacon jam, by then we only had a quarter of it left which was a bummer. The roast beef was perfectly cooked and the gravy was rich and deliciously beefy, but the extra Au jus was a bit pricy for how little it was, where it came in the same small plastic sauce container instead of a small bowl/ceramic. I'm sure this doesn't happen often that half the sandwich ingredients were left out, so I guess we were just unlucky we didn't realize sooner, but it nonetheless detracted from our experience and we were charged the full price for the meal. Overall The Point Tavern has a lot of potential of being amazing and serve probably the best roast beef in all of Staten Island; I really wish them the best with their varied roast beef selections! Please give them a try and just check your sandwich before digging into it! Thank you for reading and best of luck! (:

What's the secret at the Point Tavern in Staten Island? They keep things simple! This review is based on my visit this past Saturday Evening - 21 June 2025. Bartender Mike is a true Mensch, if that's even possible, in a place like Staten Island, but he was truly a gem and kept the drinks flowing. This is truly a neighborhood watering hole that is frequented by many, including some friendly and beautiful teachers from the local school across the way. You are struck with an immediate vibe of friendliness and happiness, and visitors to the Point Tavern are truly treated like family. My great friend, "Uncle Anthony," and I enjoyed ourselves sitting and relaxing at the bar. There was a wide selection of draft beers on tap, and the mixed drinks were delicious. Confession: I made the "Shlep" to investigate this "Suspicious" Roast Beef Sandwich. My suspicions were confirmed--amazing, Juicy, Tender, and savory. Sandwiches are made to order and tailored to the customer's likely preferences. The kitchen got it right on the first shot and got me my "Kosher" Roast Beef Sandwich. Trust me, its worth the visit. A+
