Service was friendly, but The Lox isn't the easiest place to find since it's just off the Short North. Street parking is limited, so plan accordingly. If there's a line, grab one of the plastic menus near the entrance to help you decide. I'm from Montreal and had heard they offer Montreal-style bagels (which I personally prefer over NYC bagels), so I was excited to try them. I ordered the pastrami with cheese on a sesame seed bagel. The wait was short, and the server was kind. Unfortunately, the sandwich itself was underwhelming. The cheese and mustard were very strong and overwhelmed the pastrami. At these prices, it didn't quite live up to expectations--this isn't Katz's Deli. On the plus side, I also ordered an egg salad on a plain bagel, which was much more flavorful. I'd be open to giving The Lox another try, as I've heard good things about the avocado bagel. One downside was the noticeable number of flies around my table, which cut my visit short. read more

Amazing experience and delicious bagels!!! So worth a try!! The place itself is really busy, which is fine. That being said I would expect it to take about 30 minutes from walking in to receiving your order. So, if you don't want to wait that long I would suggest using their mobile order feature on their website which is really easy to do. While waiting for my order the staff was really friendly and gave regular updates on the status of our order. I had an everything bagel with chive cream cheese and it was amazing! Attitude at check out varies with the visit. I know they're busy, but trying to rush taking my order disturbs me and leads to misorders. Today was the second day in a week that I went to LOX and tried to buy a 1/2 dozen bagels. Both times they refused to sell me 6 bagels. Trip 1,I was the 2nd person in the door, and there is a guy filling bags of bagels for orders. some are dozen some are 1/2. When I get to the counter i'm told they are only selling sandwiches because they had lost dough the night before due to cooler failure. I guess they wanted to mitigate losses by only selling high margin items, instead of just bagels, even though bags of bagels were going out the door. 2nd trip, today, I walked in, they were a bit busy, but not crazy, and was told that if I wanted 6 bagels, I would have to wait 20-30 min. "We have to fill sandwich orders first" At this time there were several dozen bagels in the baskets and several dozen in the oven that I could see from the counter. So the question is: How much profit margin do you need to make before you will sell a guy 6 bagels at once. $15 for 6 bagels is a little pricey, which would be fine, because the are pretty good. HOWEVER, perhaps you need a neon sign that says "HIGH MARGIN MENU ITEMS ONLY" that you can turn on and off so customers know when they can buy JUST BAGELS from the bagel shop. BAD FORM, and in POOR TASTE. read more

I was in town for a conference and walked down here from my hotel so I cant speak for parking, but I think there's plenty of options nearby. I ordered online and it was seamless. My order was promptly ready upon arrival. Pick up was easy. The shop itself is absolutely adorable! Looks like a great place to hang out with friends or get some work done alone. Conveniently located. It was busy, but not packed on a Wednesday morning. I would definitely recommend ordering online. I ordered the Pastrami, Egg, and Cheese and it was quite possibly the best bagel sandwich I've ever had. The pastrami is so juicy and tender, the cheese melty, egg perfectly cooked and the Everything bagel was perfect. I loved how there were plenty of bagel and cream cheese options, yet not overwhelming. I also tried the Fried Potatoes - order these!! Do not miss 'em. They're unlike anything I've ever had. Like a latke in hash brown (ish?) form. Crispy on the outside, potato-y and creamy on the inside. Came here while visiting Columbus after seeing many online reviews and advice from friends not to miss this. Parking is definitely tough on a weekend and lines get long, but seating is easy enough as people rotate through as they finish their meals. I ordered the lox bagel sandwich and my husband ordered something with beef steak and eggs and an everything bagel with the chive cream cheese. Went here on a beautiful fall Saturday morning before a Buckeyes game to grab some breakfast. We couldn't believe how slammed it was! The line was extending around the inside of the restaurant. Line went quite quickly, and after having the food, we understood why the line was so long. It was SO good! We shared the Lox Bagel on their Herb bagel and a Bacon, Egg and Cheese on a sesame bagel. The problem with many bagel shops are that they are so dang small and The Lox does not have that problem. Very open and spacious, which is great. Fast and friendly service and a delicious bagel. I got the vegan version of the lox bagel and it was really good, however, if I ever happen to be in Columbus again I think I would just get a regular vegan cream cheese bagel. It was a very fun option and I'm glad I tried it, but I just personally prefer a classic. Very average bagel! I was visiting and this came as a recommendation but having had bagels from New York and DC these were ok. My friend got the avocado toast bagel sandwich and said she enjoyed it & I got the egg & cheese on an everything which was good - the sauce on the bagel really completed it. The bagel itself was not as fluffy as I'd like but it was still good. It was definitely overpriced as the one egg & cheese with avocado came out to $10. We also got a couple of other bagels with chive cream cheese & that was more of a hit with our friends. The restaurant has decent seating options and is relatively fast & everyone there is very nice. They have a short list of bagel types with a few different sandwiches. My wife and I both got 'the lox' sandwich on different bagels. I got the everything bagel and she got herb and sea salt. They get busy on the weekends! We were greeted right away and the whole staff is super friendly. Ordered our bagel sammies, potato side, and had a complimentary water and paid for a can of soda. We waited outside since it was a bit crowded inside. The patio seating is so nice! It was a pretty morning and we were lucky enough to snag a table. The patio itself is the back corner of the parking lot. Not fancy but nice to be able to sit. We didn't wait too much longer for our food (they had warned us the kitchen was backed up about 25 mins before we ordered. We didn't mind waiting since we knew what to expect.) They have really good bagels! Good chew and great flavors! I would absolutely get it again but maybe I will try sausage next time. I'd skip the uncharged bacon because there isn't much and it was just ok. The sammy doesn't need it with those fluffy eggs! Loved the crispy potato thingies -- crispy and herbed on the outside and like mashed potatoes inside. So good! But spendy for 2 pieces. All in all, it's worth checking out. My only issue was the pastrami was a bit on the salty side so I couldn't eat it all. But the bagel was so good I dipped into my wife's plain bagel with bacon and egg and ate half of it too (sorry babe)!
