Parking is definitely tough on a weekend and lines get long, but seating is easy enough as people rotate through as they finish their meals. I ordered the lox bagel sandwich and my husband ordered something with beef steak and eggs and an everything bagel with the chive cream cheese. RUN, DON'T WALK to The Lox Bagel Shop!! We got The Lox on an Everything bagel and Pastrami on the Sea Salt & Herb bagel. OH MY GOD, everything was chef's kiss! The bagels were the perfect flavor and texture (I'm from New York so I know my bagels). The lox sandwich had the perfect amount of everything, with a generous pile of lox. And my goodness, the Pastrami is out of this world! So so tender and juicy. One of my favorite bites this year so far! We came for a quick lunch before they closed but the restaurant itself is very cute. Would love to hang out for an afternoon here. I was in town for a conference and walked down here from my hotel so I cant speak for parking, but I think there's plenty of options nearby. I ordered online and it was seamless. These are real authentic bagels, Montreal style and that means similar to New York but a little softer. There are easier on the teeth. The bagels are hand rolled throughout the entire day so getting bagels just an hour old is common. So glad we found this place. Also the potato sticks are yummy. read more

I went yesterday (9/3) to this bagel shop again with my service dog and they let me know I had to wait outside for my food, outside is fine since I was taking my order to go but it made me question if they allowed service dogs inside if someone were to stay there and eat. The outside area only has two small tables with two chairs that were both taken up on a Wednesday morning around 9 am. Went here on a beautiful fall Saturday morning before a Buckeyes game to grab some breakfast. We couldn't believe how slammed it was! The line was extending around the inside of the restaurant. Very average bagel! I was visiting and this came as a recommendation but having had bagels from New York and DC these were ok. My friend got the avocado toast bagel sandwich and said she enjoyed it & I got the egg & cheese on an everything which was good - the sauce on the bagel really completed it. The bagel itself was not as fluffy as I'd like but it was still good. It was definitely overpriced as the one egg & cheese with avocado came out to $10. We also got a couple of other bagels with chive cream cheese & that was more of a hit with our friends. The restaurant has decent seating options and is relatively fast & everyone there is very nice. The problem with many bagel shops are that they are so dang small and The Lox does not have that problem. Very open and spacious, which is great. Fast and friendly service and a delicious bagel. I got the vegan version of the lox bagel and it was really good, however, if I ever happen to be in Columbus again I think I would just get a regular vegan cream cheese bagel. It was a very fun option and I'm glad I tried it, but I just personally prefer a classic. I'm the first to admit that I am a little bit of a bagel snob as someone who grew up eating New York bagels, but I was impressed by this place! They have a short list of bagel types with a few different sandwiches. My wife and I both got 'the lox' sandwich on different bagels. I got the everything bagel and she got herb and sea salt. The bagels were great! Crispy on the outside, chewy on the inside as they should be. The lox and cream cheese and capers were also excellent! They are ridiculously busy on the weekends so be prepared that it's going to be tough to get seating especially if you have a big group, forget it! They get busy on the weekends! We were greeted right away and the whole staff is super friendly. Ordered our bagel sammies, potato side, and had a complimentary water and paid for a can of soda. The patio itself is the back corner of the parking lot. Not fancy but nice to be able to sit. We didn't wait too much longer for our food (they had warned us the kitchen was backed up about 25 mins before we ordered. We didn't mind waiting since we knew what to expect.) They have really good bagels! Good chew and great flavors! I would absolutely get it again but maybe I will try sausage next time. I'd skip the uncharged bacon because there isn't much and it was just ok. The sammy doesn't need it with those fluffy eggs! Came here for breakfast and ordered the lox sandwich without the onions (because I wanted to avoid onion breath but then i learned it was pickled onions, so now I have FOMO) on a herb & sea salt bagel. But let me tell you, the lox at this place was so fresh and delicious--it blew my socks off. The bagel is up to par to nyc bagels, so it's definitely gets my stamp of approval. And from the first bite later, it was clear: these lean Montreal. Denser, sweeter dough, wood-fired blistering, and rumor has it, even boiled in honey water. I left with two sandwiches: a classic egg and cheese on an everything bagel, and a vegan lox on a sea salt & rosemary herb bagel (with spicy chive cream cheese swapped in). First, the egg and cheese. Absolute textbook. The everything bagel itself screamed Montreal--denser crumb, slightly sweet, perfectly blistered from the wood fire. The seasoning was spot on. Not overwhelming, not falling off everywhere, just balanced. The egg was cooked beautifully. Light, airy, still tender and the cheese melted into it like a dream. No frills, no mistakes, just a flawless execution of a classic. That's a 10/10. Then the vegan lox. Now, I'll admit, I was skeptical. Carrots pretending to be lox? But straight away, the rosemary bagel hits you with this wonderful herbaceous aroma. Fragrant, but not overpowering. The nori-cured carrot was clever. It held onto that gentle sweetness of carrot, but picked up a smoky, briny, almost oceanic note that immediately called to mind real lox. Pair that with the salty little bursts from the capers, crisp freshness from the cucumber, and then that spicy chive cream cheese tying it all together. It worked perfectly. Excellent balance of textures and flavors, generous schmear, and every bite kept me wanting another. That's another 10/10. So here's the bottom line: The waits are brutal, the crowds relentless, and you'll probably end up eating in your car or at home, but none of that matters once you bite in. These bagels are exceptional. For twenty dollars, I had two sandwiches that were each worth the hype. If you're in Columbus, especially on a weekend morning, do yourself a favor: brave the line, grab a bagel, and taste why half the city's queued up outside this place. read more

Omg. Amazing. I've been so in love with their Lox bagel that it's all I ordered for years. I've lived in Columbus my whole life and never really thought about what pastrami was or sought it out, but after going to NYC this past week I discovered how good pastrami can be and lo and behold my go to bagel shop, The Lox, had Pastrami this whole time. Not only did they have it but just like the care put into their homemade bagels, they put into preparing the pastrami. I think pastrami is basically brisket but put in a brine to add different flavor and texture. They said they put theirs in a brine for two weeks. I was craving pastrami so ordered as is but added extra pastrami. I also ordered a side of pickles. The pastrami was so juicy and flavorful. I liked the other toppings as well. I got too full to finish it all so I think the regular portion of pastrami is probably a perfect amount. They also can do pastrami with egg which I'll try next time. Theres a small shared parking lot of maybe 10 places that sometimes has a spot otherwise I can typically get a street spot on the same street. On nice days there's a cute patio space as well. Checked out The Lox on a Saturday morning-- there was a long line that moved quickly, but orders took about 20 minutes to find out. No worries-- that will give you time to enjoy the patio or even run across the street to grab lattes from the nearby coffee shop (The Lox has cold brew, cream soda, and specialty lemonade, but not an extensive drink menu). We split two breakfast sandwiches: the southwestern with sausage and their signature lox (with fried egg added), and both were excellent and good sized. (And messy -- but worth it!).
