A hidden gem. Such friendly service, and I just love the salad bar. Lovely bar area as well.

we were at the hotel for a conference. we had limited time for lunch and were assured by the staff it would be quicker to stay on site and eat at mulligans. our party of six was sat at 11:50am needing to be back to the conference room by 1. Once sat it took about 5 minutes for them to bring menus. when they finally brought menus the only brought 3 for six of us. they were iPads which took time to navigate. Probably another 10 minutes until the server made her firs approach just to get drinks. She came back with drinks about 10 minutes later. we are now about 25 minutes in without even having our order placed. The server finally took our order. I ordered the bourbon steak and parmesan crostini appetizer as my meal. Our food took about 20 minutes to come out. What was delivered was some really bad food. I had ordered my steak medium rare and it came out well done without any seasoning whatsoever. the parmesan crostinis were barely cooked and had no parmesan on them and seemed to have the flavor and color of the dirty flattop they were cooked on. The 'bourbon' sauce was a disgusting mush room gravy with mushy vegetables mixed into it. the rest of the table did not fare much better. 3 dry overcooked burgers with fries so salty they were inedible and 2 quesadillas both only a quarter eaten. server never checked back or refilled drinks. Its now 12 50 and she is no where to be found. 12:55 and I had to flag down another waitress to find ours. She finally bring s check around 12:58. 4 of us were lucky enough to leave cash. myself and another unfortunately paid with card which for some reason took her about 10 minutes to run then were dropped off with no pens to sign. back in the conference room at 1:15 for a 1pm start time. read more

Hotel restos are not usually on our map for travel meals while RVing, but I knew this place was well known for a great AYCE salad bar for the Wifey---one of her weaknesses. The salad bar looked robust, but she wound up wanting to look at the regular menu. Good choice, because we won't eat again until next Wed. She did their Halibut & Fries, and got far more than either of us imagined. My burger was huge, with a generous amount of gorganzola, with added bacon. Couldn't finish it, while helping her with the filets. The place, itself, has been there for decades, but the hotel keeps it well maintained. The waitresses all seem to be on Soma, haha, but they were kinda pleasant. It's been a long while since we've been here, and I'm glad we stopped by to see how well they are doing... read more

Nice restaurant inside the Best Western. We went for dinner on a Monday evening. Very quiet but nice atmosphere. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We just had the salad bar. The salad fixings were fresh and varied. There were some other salads on the bar; potato, fruit, pasta, ambrosia and a yummy chicken curry salad! There were about 10 different salad dressings to choose from including a huckleberry vinaigrette. Yum! Also on the salad bar were two soups; French Onion and Clam Chowder during our visit. Both were very tasty! The clam chowder was a thick bisque, just the way we like it. The French Onion had a rich flavorful broth. Cheese and croutons were available on the side. Wonderful warm sourdough rolls came with the salad bar. The rolls were chewy on outside and fresh and warm on the inside. Whipped butter was served on the side. Soft drinks were reasonably priced at $3.00 with unlimited refills. Locals recommended the restaurant for their prime rib but it wasn't being served when we visited. We often pass through CDA. We will come back to try other menu items. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner! read more

Not good! Used to love this and come back all the time!! Too much lard! The chicken fried steak needs major help! Not great and for God sake get a menu that is not on a computer!! The servers are amazingly!! Potato skins were burnt. I don't know how you can screw those up. Please return the old chicken fried steak or take it off the menu and get a cook that cooks with fresh ingredients. I've had a stomach ache for two days. read more

I have eaten at this location over the years with family while I'm in town. It is located inside the Best Western Hotel, and has both a restaurant and a lounge. The menu has pretty much stayed the same since I have been visiting, and leans toward some old style comfort favorites. There are burgers and salads along with dinner entrees. Some of my family like to order liver and onions every time we visit, but I have never been a fan of liver so I've not tried that option. On my latest visit, I tried the Crunchy Thai Chicken Salad. It was a large portion size and I wasn't able to finish it all and took some home. The chicken was breaded and sliced breast meat. The dressing was mixed into the salad already. I liked the mandarin oranges mixed in as well. The service was friendly, and they kept our drinks full. The seating was booth style with a casual atmosphere. I'm sure I'll be back again since it's conveniently located near our location. read more

Clean place. Basic service, not attentive. Our friend was served tepid coffee. The excuse was that the coffee hadn't been changed out for a fresh pot yet. Her cup was brought back quickly. I think her coffee was microwaved. Asked for straws for the water. Straws were casually tossed on the table. I had the Chicken fried steak. Salty. Small portions. It was cold and clammy. Ate it, didn't want to complain, and ended up with a stomach ache later. Hubby had the salad bar. Looked like the salad bar was the only thing attended to. Overpriced for basic food... and service... and I speak personally as a hotel server. Hard pass. read more

Mulligans didn't disappoint! Food was spot on and beverages tasty! The team was attentive and so nice.

Shannon is really exceptional. This is our fourth stay at the hotel and when we see she is working we all decide to stay and have dinner because she is just so wonderful. We stayed this time so we could relax after taking my daughter to a movie for her birthday and Shannon went out of her way to make her feel special and make her a birthday treat. The chicken nachos are HUGE! The chicken was nice and tender with tons of flavor. The steak was good but the veggies are bland and not fresh. The short rib grilled cheese was surprisingly lacking flavor. The meat was good but a little dry. The French fries were great. The desert were all yummy but this time the mild high mud pie was the winner. The restaurant and bar are always nice and tidy even when the hotel is having big events. We will continue to stay for dinner anytime we see Shannon's smile from behind the bar. read more

My mom and aunts always wanna go here so I feel like it's in "old people's place", but it was delicious. The appetizer of steak, Cristini, and mushroom gravy is unbelievable. Do not go anywhere near closing. They make sure you know they close in 15 min! Why should that matter of you're there before closing. Staff seems rushed complaining about how worn out they are. Too many onions- in the gravy in the veggies, everywhere. Mashed potatoes very good! Loved variety squash for veggies with dinner but was over powered by onion flavor and also overcooked- some very mushy. Burger was ok. Kids meal was cute- popcorn chicken topped with actual popcorn. Service was amazing. We ate dinner the first night of our stay here. I ordered turkey and fixings and husband ordered trout. Both main dishes were good, however the mashed potatoes were terrible. Not sure if it was a bad batch but between temp and flavor they were in edible. Salad bar was the best thing about the meal! This location also provides the continental breakfast for BWP hotel guests each morning and that service and meal each morning were amazing!! Options include omelette bar, biscuits, sausage, waffle bar, yogurt bar, cereals, coffee, juice, teas and more. Delicious!!! read more

This was our first visit to Mulligan's and we went for the chicken fried steak special that was advertised in the CDA Press. I was pleasantly surprised at the range of choices that the menu offered. In addition to the chicken fried steak of which the meat was very good quality, I had the Navy Bean soup. I did not pay extra ($7 added to your entree cost)for the salad bar as there was a lack of the toppings I like (shrimp, eggs etc.), but if you like the healthy green stuff it looked very fresh. The menu indicated that you only got one trip to the salad bar. Restrooms are shared down the hall with the Best Western's meeting rooms. All in all, not a bad place to have a decent meal in a quiet location. read more

Local here who didn't want to fight weekend crazy downtown so thought hey let's give it a try...so glad we did! Hubby ordered the burger and I ordered the creamy shrimp and we both got the salad bar added for 8 bucks. The salad bar was amazing and had so many topping options including salad shrimp that we both said next time we are coming for just that! The shrimp dish was $20 and added the salad bar so $28. I wasn't expecting much but was wrong. Huge shrimp in a perfect creamy sauce with spinach and sundried tomatoes. Mixed fresh sliced zucchini and yellow squash and such and local sources of St Marie's rice..fantastic!! Hubby's burger was huge with perfect fries. Needless to say we were so full from the salad bar that we did take home a few left overs and got a third opinion from our son who gave them a thumbs up. We may have found our new go to!! read more

We had appetizers of coconut shrimp, fried ravioli and wings.... they were all good, liked the wings a lot and the shrimp i could eat everyday! My boyfriend got the meatloaf (photo included) it looked fancy! It was pretty good too! If you love meatloaf, definitely give it a try here. Even though it was extremely convenient to eat in our hotel, the service was poor; my dad had a few allergies and the waiter had a hard time communicating what he could have or not and they didn't know how the food was made. The wait was a rather long time, but the salad was extremely good. I got the ginger chicken teriyaki rice bowl and it didn't have much flavor. I probably would try something else next time I come to this town. read more

Decent hotel restaurant. Drinks were strong, and they had a variety of daily specials. We ordered the brisket (meh, but the sides were great!) and a pasta dish- pasta was delicious. Staff were kind and attentive. Would definitely stop back in if in the area again. They do a fabulous hot breakfast in the morning for the hotel guests!! read more

Disappointing Christmas Dinner With the local businesses struggling because of the COVID-19 restrictions, we thought we would take advantage of take-out Christmas dinner at Mulligan's this year. What a disappointment. Our takeout order was schedule for 4:30. Upon arrival I was instructed to wait in the takeout line. This line was also next to the bathrooms and the secondary exit door. There were 7 groups ahead of me so I figured it would be a short wait. After 25 minutes the line did not move. Then slowly people started to get their takeout orders. I waited a total of 53 minutes to get our food. There was no communication as to why the wait and the others in line much like me were getting frustrated. Once I got to the head of the line, I expressed my concern to the attendant, and she said this also happened at Thanksgiving and was hoping the management might use this as a lesson to improve in the future. Mulligans is a good example of how to treat your customers if you do not want their return business. On a positive note, the food was good. read more

I keep trying to get a good meal here, without success. Tonight's meal was a cashew chicken salad. The battered chicken unfortunately tasted of fish and was not super hot or crunchy. A true vegetarian dish would have much better. read more

One of the worst experiences I've had in a restaurant... no holds barred. Waited FOREVER to get waited on - then waited FOREVER to finally get our food - which, by the way, was COLD. Waitress apparently didn't care because we never saw her after the food was delivered.... Worse than being cold, there was a decoration on my plate / if that is what it was supposed to be.. it was a piece of MOLDY lettuce. Not going back ... we've been here several other times and they weren't this bad but not good either. read more
