Smoked Brisket Sandwich (Saturday Only)

Finally wandered into the Meatery for lunch and it didn't disappoint. We had the California Cheese Steak and the Brisket sandwich. Delish!

What a neat place!! I wish there was a Meatery near me, I would be a frequent flyer. They have anything meat related that you could possibly think of, as well as some nice wine, snacks, and trinkets to look at while you wait. We came here for sandwiches, but I found myself intrigued by all their goodies. My husband got the Italian sandwich, I got a crispy turkey, and my kids got a deli turkey sandwich-- everything was great. I am seriously obsessed with their pillow soft sandwich bread. Literally dreaming about it! The deli turkey had a really nice flavor, as well. The man who helped me had a nice smile and friendly service.

Huge sandwich hearty price than what we are use to back in TN. Amazing size though left happy and full. Recommend the Ruben and meatball sandwich along with the steak fries yummy best fries and I normally do not eat fries

Great brisket sandwich 4/5: juicy!! and loaded with meats (it does contain a lot of "fat", and might be too much for others.) Pastrami sandwich 4/5: loaded with meats, amazing flavors, highly recommend Potato wedges tasted old. 0/5

What a delicious treat! My wife and I saw this shop a week ago from the street and we both wanted to make it back. Stopped in for a late lunch. Service was good, menu was well laid out on the wall with no prices that we saw. Ordered a couple of sandwiches, one calamari and a fried chicken. Quick, order up in ten. My chicken sandwich was good it had a pretty tangy type slaw on it, did I say "tangy." My wife's was better. The first bite of her calamari sandwich was delicious. Perfectly cooked and balanced with the sauce and bread. That's a winner. After lunch , looking around a little they have some pricey wines, house made dog foods, books, hats and of course meats, sausages and Green Egg Smoker's to cook them. Last words...so local, so good.

Saw "The Meatery" on the PBS show called "Check Please" and I had to go there the next time I was in Seaside, CA. Well, I'm here! The Meatery opened 4 years ago. It is a deli with special sandwiches, bbq shop with meats smoked in a Green Egg Smoker, a butcher shop with lots of prime cuts of meat and in-house made sausages, and pre-made foods in the cold cases, like shrimp gumbo, that you can bring home and heat up They also sell beverages and cookies. The parking lot is small, so you may have to park in the dirt lot next door. The Meatery is a shop, but they do have indoor tables and chairs to enjoy your food or you can take your foods to go. The place is cozy & clean, the furnishings are made of dark wood, and the room has lots of light from all the windows. I came here on a Saturday at a little after 5pm. Tip #1, The Meatery is closed on Sundays & Mondays, and Tip #2, they stop making sandwiches at 5pm on the dot! So get there early if you want a sandwich! Looks like you can order online too, but I didn't know it at the time. Even though I got there after 5pm, I was still able to get some of their moist and tender smoked brisket, spicy mac & cheese pimento salad, and loaded broccoli salad with bacon bits. That combo was DELICIOUS! Yum!!! Everything is packaged nicely. Also got their popular black garlic sausage & cheesy Jalapeño sausage. Can't wait to grill them up! I will need to go back the next time I'm in town so I can try their sandwiches.

Omg this place is amazing! Fabulous food and excellent service & reasonable prices for the high quality. You can get lunch and then get meat and all the sides for dinner in one stop! Very clean and cute restaurant. Must gets: Rueben, meatball sandwich, bang mi, roasted chicken with the green beans and Caesar salad was absolutely exceptional. Also order the Mac and cheese, broccoli salad, Cole slaw, potato salad & cucumber kimchi salad-- all are amazing. Will go back again and again.

Is this a dog friendly restaurant?

I believe that they do have a few tables outside for outdoor seating. I hope this answers your question. You could always call ahead to check. They have off street parking, but it's mainly a dirt lot.

So one morning on a recent golfing trip to Monterey area,I was out for a morning walk to Starbucks…read morewhen I caught this wonderful smell in the air and wouldn't you know it,as soon as I turned a corner, there was this wonderful gentleman cooking up 25+ tri-tips and I asked him what they were for and he said it was the meat used for the days tritip sandwich sales.I told him I would be back after my round of golf that morning. Well after my comical round of golf that day,I returned to the shop and I truly stumbled upon a true hidden gem of a sandwich shop. I went with a buddy and we ended up getting two types of sandwiches and we split them. We ordered the Hot Pastrami ($15.00) and the aforementioned Tri-Tip Sandwich($16.00) We also got a large potato salad they offered-not sure on pricing on that. So let's talk about the sandwiches. I really enjoyed the Pastrami quite a bit-it was for sure one of the best Pastramis I've ever tasted, not too fatty and perfectly seasoned. The Tri-Tip though-that was exactly what I thought it would be-true showstopper. You ever have a food item that was so good that it almost kinda pisses you off because you now know this level exists and most likely won't find it again like this?....Well that's what this item was-perfection Tri-Tip on a really well-made sandwich. Their potato salad was really high level as well, total creaminess with perfect balance of seasonings-I could never make mine this well. Their high level of food explained why when I arrived at the little market there were 7-8 people in line in front of us. Parking for this location is all street parking as this place is truly just a little neighborhood market located in a residential neighborhood-If you blinked when driving by,one could miss it. But that doesn't stop them from delivering very high quality food and a permanent stop on my must-visit list whenever I go back to the Monterey area...You should do the same-it's great.

The woman who made our sandwiches was so nice, and the woman at the register gave us tips for our Big Sur trip. The four sandwiches we ordered were all delicious! We ordered turkey, roast beef, and salami, all with the works! The portions were huge and we had to save half because they were so filling. And the prices were absolutely reasonable! Very clean market ! If you're in the area La Sala's is a must!

I was genuinely blown away by the difference. The staff was very friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome. I had the Alfredo and the rigatoni, and both were solid. The pizza wasn't my favorite part of the meal, but the bread with the dipping oil and the rest of the food more than made up for it. They also have filtered regular water and filtered soda water, which I definitely appreciate. Somehow that small detail always tells me a place cares. The next time I'm back in Monterey, I'll definitely stop here again. Also, just a heads-up I had a better time here, made better memories, and still spent less than I did at the Monterey Bay Aquarium. At least here, the food was actually worth looking at.

Hence, began Gayle's search for a salad starting at this Santa Fe Market. This is a nice store that caters more to the Hispanic market. It's clean, well stocked, well priced, and with a lot to choose from. Unfortunately a premade salad wasn't really a choice here. We had already picked up a few items, and decided to put them back in search of a nearby Safeway. If we're in Seaside again with a different shopping list, we'll be back.

I've had the carne asada fries weekly, sometimes a couple of times a week when I used to work at one of the auto dealers around the corner from them and used to rave about them to family and friends. We stopped there to get dinner tonight, and I got the usual carne asada fries and was so disappointed. They've replaced the regular french fries with shoe string fries which have no substance to them and were not cooked all the way. The carne asada was so well done and chewy that I had to pull some pieces out of my mouth to spit them out and overall it had a very sour taste to the dish, and the amount of cheese and sour cream were nearly non-existent AND finally the container was no longer needing a rubber band to hold it closed like it has for the past 6 years that I've gotten the carne asada fries for lunch, it was about half full. I used to be able to either take home leftovers and have them for dinner or snack on them the rest of my workday, not any longer, now for $15.95 they give a half sized portion of absolute YUCK. What a complete disappointment. I definitely won't be shopping there again. Even their guacamole or Pico de gallo was brown in the cabinet, YUCK! They have really cheeped out on their hot deli foods, unfortunately.
