Tried this new place in the up and coming PV mall area. Not super busy yet but I imagine it will be. Their burgers were overall solid, especially the Swiss & Shroom, just a little too greasy when I tried it. They err on the side of "gourmet burgers", each about $10 for the burger alone. They have fries (be warned, the garlic & parmesan ones were very garlicky), patty melts, grilled cheeses, mac and cheese, chicken sandwiches, and salads. I would come back for sure. read more

I really hate to write a bad Yelp review but they can't all be good! So here goes: My family and I went to check out the new PV Mall area, and chose The Melt for dinner after reading about all the new restaurants in the area in The New Times. To start with the positive, the plain fries were terrific: well-seasoned, hot, and made from real potatoes. My daughter got the crispy chicken sandwich and garlic fries and said both were really good. The fries seemed too garlicky/greasy so I didn't try them. She also got the mac n cheese and a fun cherry ginger soda, both of which she also said were really good. I ordered the Original grilled chicken sandwich and it was one of the worst I've ever had. It was rubbery and had no flavor at all. Because it felt like I was eating a Pink Pearl eraser, I took it off and tried to eat just the bun with lettuce and tomato but it wasn't good. I thought the pickle would liven it up, but it had a weird sagey taste. My husband got the Shroom Burger, which he calls the "Doom Shroom" because he said "it wasn't like a good burger. It was thin and tough and kinda greasy. Not special at all." My other daughter got the Original burger and said it was about a 4/10. For something that claims to be made with Wagyu and Angus, it should've been better. She also ordered sweet potato fries, which smelled and tasted exactly like the IKEA snack bar cinnamon rolls. (That's not a good thing.) Like, why the cinnamon? Maybe we should've stuck with a simple grilled cheese and tomato soup , or maybe the egg in a hole my husband was considering. The place has potential. It's cute and clean, and the staff seems great and friendly. I just wish we didn't spend $85 to be so disappointed. read more

We stopped here after not being able to find many options open after 10pm. The restaurant and the restrooms were both very clean. We ordered and the food was ready in under 10 minutes and the staff member working the register was very welcoming and kind! Brand new location at the PV reimagined mall Tatum/Cactus. The burgers are really good; The Melt burger with single patty was huge; thank god I didn't get a double! Side of garlic/parm fries so worth it! They have Mac & cheese on the menu as well; maybe next time! It's worth it to download the app; you immediately get free fries & can earn points for mor rewards. This time I got a free dessert, so I picked a marshmallow bar (is packaged, doesn't seem to be fresh made). Cool vibe, very friendly staff, lots of seating both indoors & out. I would actually give a 2.5. Usually only write review when things are standout great or terrible, but writing review here bc I can typically trust yelp and this 4.5 is baffling. This is literally meh like airport food if you have to eat ok, but federal pizza is around the corner and a brewery nextdoor so this should not be first choice. Also there is in n out across street which is better. The staff are great. Food was quick and hot but we had fries, classic chicken, patty melt & Mac n cheese. The latter was about the best of the lot. Everything else was meh, not bad, but not good. So there was nothing wrong per se, but we should've just ate at home read more

Burger was okay. Would have been better if cooked to temperature. The medium was well done with no pink at all which, unfortunately, is a problem at a lot of burger places. As a result, the burger was dry. The Enjoyed the seasoning on the fries but they were a little soggy. Definitely have had better burgers elsewhere. read more

This was our second time in. I enjoyed a delicious Swiss N Shrooms burger. The burgers are so good, tasty and juicy. Of course we had to have the Garlic Parmesan fries, delicious! Husband has the Spicy Mission Burger. Service was fast and friendly. The restaurant is clean. So glad to have this spot in the neighborhood. Can't wait for better parking! read more

My husband and I were so excited to try this place as it has at times felt like the PV area has struggled to have great food options. Unfortunately this place severely missed the mark. The staff weren't helpful and didn't seem interested in guiding new guests through the menu, which would've been helpful since none of their sandwich's come automatically with items like lettuce and tomatoes. This left our chicken sandwich dry and boring. Perhaps it's my own fault for not realizing I had to add each item but given their a new restaurant, a little guidance from the staff would've easily avoided this issue. The food itself was bland and uninspiring. The classic chicken sandwich although perfectly crispy had no seasoning and as such lacked in flavor. Even the addition of lettuce and tomatoes would not have helped this issue. To note we had the classic which when we received it was just a bun and the chicken, no sauce or toppings existed in our sandwhich which differs from the description. We also got the Swiss 'n' Shroom burger because we both love this combo on burgers but again the burger lacked any seasoning or flavor. Oddly, you only knew you were eating mushrooms because there was a texture change but the mushrooms themselves lacked any flavor which was startling to say the least. We skipped the spinach at my husband's request so we should've easily tasted the mushrooms and Swiss but instead we felt like we were eating an overly greasy cheap hamburger with no seasoning from a dinner. The two other items we ordered didn't excite us either. The French fries had some green stuff sprinkled on them but it appeared to be flavorless as it couldn't be detected when eating the fries. The fries were just that fries with a mystery green item sprinkled on top, no complaints but not exciting. We also got a side of Mac n cheese that was easily one of the worst Mac n cheese experiences I've had. It was watery and lacked any flavor of cheese, we took a few bites and tossed it. Wasn't worth the calories. Kraft Mac n Cheese out of a box would've had more flavor. Overall this meal felt like a huge waste of money. While I know they are new and likely working out the kinks, they are still charging full price for subpar food. Really disappointed. read more

Visited The Melt today and had the most bland, flavorless Mac n cheese ever. I got the Mac Daddy and the only flavor was the buttered bread and bacon. The Mac n cheese had to flavor whatsoever and just fell out of the sandwich. I couldn't imagine getting just the plain Mac n cheese. Man did I have high hopes for this spot based on reviews. Sadly my hopes were crushed. Kiosk ordering felt like McDonalds, servers don't bring anything to your table yet give you a smug look when you take your food. Yet this place wants you to tip? Couldn't get a receipt to sign up for their rewards thing, but didnt care after eating. Ok the burger or "Melt", had the double melt burger.... They kill it with the jalapeños and pickle mix. So over powering that's all you taste. Had no idea you can get lettuce tomato etc? It's not on the menu when ordering or at least I couldn't find it.
