**The Melting Pot - A Mixed Fondue Experience** Walking into The Melting Pot, you know it's going to be an expensive night--tonight's $500+ bill confirmed that. It's challenging to give a definitive review because the experience was neither exceptional nor terrible. The service was decent but not memorable. I ordered a $20 drink for a bit of theatrical flair with dry ice, but it arrived without it. The server casually mentioned they'd been out of dry ice for a while and suggested the menu should be updated. No alternative was offered, which was a letdown since the dry ice likely contributed to the drink's high price. The cheese and chocolate fondues were served lukewarm; I had to adjust the warmer myself to get them to a more acceptable temperature. Overall, the evening felt a bit lackluster. On the positive side, the manager came by to check on us, which was a nice touch. While there were a few issues, I didn't want to make a fuss over minor inconveniences. If you enjoy dressing up and fondue, this place might still be worth a try, but don't expect anything extraordinary. read more

This was a special event. Dinner for my son and his girlfriends birthdays. I made the reservation for 7:00 pm on a Sunday night for after work, thinking two hours should be ample time before closing. First we were seated late. Then after being handed the menu's by Priscilla, we were not given any kind of direction. Having never been, we had trouble figuring out the menu and how everything worked. Needless to say it took forever for us to place our order, and we felt like she was being put out by our not being ready each time she came back. After that we suddenly had a new server, by the name of Don. He was much more helpful and relaxed. Not knowing ahead of time we needed a phone to scan a QR code to find out how to cook our meat, and we had only two phones for four people, it made it inconvenient and a pain to set the timers every time someone wanted to cook a piece of meat. By this point it was already nearing closing and we hadn't even started dessert. So we just threw all the meat in to cook it to take home. Many people, including Priscilla and Don, kept coming and asking if they could clear plates, checking if we were done, and just standing and watching us, making us feel rushed and uncomfortable. When my sons girlfriend asked if we could get some dips to go for the meat, Don told us the guys in back were mad, because they had already cleaned. Then they brought them for her but didn't bring mine. I just said nevermind, to forget it. We continued with dessert, but just ate the fruit very fast and asked to take the rest home. I don't know why they accept 7:00 pm and later reservations if they try to rush you out when you are not done. As we were leaving we realized we hadn't gotten our dessert add on. The manager gave us a card for one at "our next" visit. My son's girlfriend told the manager about our issues with the evening, but the manager pretty much shrugged it off, with a lame apology. This night was so unpleasant and uncomfortable, it ruined everyone's evening, and I felt terrible having chosen this restaurant for their birthdays. Considering we spent $400 including tip, we definitely will not be returning. UPDATE.....The manager Andy contacted me immediately. He was kind, gracious and apologetic. Tonight was date night. My gf had tried The Melting Pot before, a long time ago in another city. I had never been. It was a neat place. It was dimly lit but pleasant and had some old Sinatra playing. Once we were seated (we had a reservation and had no problem getting a seat) we ordered drinks to start while we figured out the combination on the menu we wanted. The service staff was pleasant and knowledgeable and very attentive but didn't over do it. All of the food was good and the portions given were just enough that we left feeling full but not over full. Everything was great about this restaurant. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is for the price. The drinks are way over priced and the meal could stand to be brought down some. Before tip with the meal for two and two drinks we were over $160. In my opinion, it was a good place to visit and experience but not likely to be a place I'd return to read more
