They did have options if you don't want like standard chocolate but overall it's very expensive and for that price, I rather go to a Korean bbq and then a local chocolate place for the rich chocolate not the fake Hershey one. We did the meal for two and the food was plentiful and delicious! There are definitely tricks we learned to making the most of our time, otherwise it's a very long meal. The cheese appetizer and the desserts were the best parts in my opinion. I do wish they gave you other vegetables to dip in the cheese. We were in a larger round booth and with the two burners in the middle, the heat sort of just stayed in our booth... I do not recommend- sit somewhere where the heat can escape and you're not overheated during your meal. Overall we had a great time and would probably go visit one again! Our first course was a cheese fondue that was luke warm and it did not get hot thru the whole course. The second course was better since it was a broth that needed to stay hot. Our waiter kept on saying we could get more food items if we just asked. He never ever came back and we only wanted a few pieces of salmon and 1 ravioli. We were wondering if this was the MP policy or if he was just bad at his job. We only asked for an extra napkin and that never came and he never asked how it was going or did we need anything else so we didn't order any cocktails that we wanted. Aidan dropped off the check and we didn't see him for another 20 minutes. We got up and paid the check up front. I think when a 20% is included, they don't think they have to try very hard. Four course dinner for two runs you a pretty penny but IT IS an experience that you pay for. You will be SOOO full by the end because there is a lot to eat. If you come for a date or just a party of 2 you can request for Lovers Lane which is more private seating where you can also adjust the lights of your seating area. Well I have been sleeping on this chain for a decade now. My 21 yr old loves it and it's now become girls night go to. The service is great and the food is fresh. Well, that was fun! Wanted to take my 10 year old nephew someplace fun for dinner where they served more than hamburgers and fries. I'd never had fondue and thought the nephew and I would both get a kick out of it. NOTE: I had read online that kids eat free on certain nights, but was told this was incorrect. The restaurant wasn't crowded, but still, there was a bit of a wait at the door. Short staffed would be my guess. We were taken through the labyrinth that is the dark, cozy restaurant and seated in a spacious booth. A young server gave us menus and did an excellent job explaining how it works. Basically, you can get the 3-course meal that includes appetizer, main and dessert or a la carte. Neither of us are big eaters and full course is pricey, so we opted for just appetizers and main meal. Though I bet the chocolate fondue is really fun! You get lots of choices regarding protein and sauces, vegetables seem standard. We decided to order only one appetizer and one main adult entree to split between us. So glad we did because they give you so much food! We got a mix of shrimp, chicken and mushroom ravioli, which came with broccoli and potatoes, as well as a cheddar cheese appetizer which included two kinds of bread (pretzel and French) and veggies and fruit. It's hard to be patient when you're a kid-- or with a kid--so we kept checking to see if the fondue had melted enough yet. Finally, it was time! You put a piece of food on a skewer and lay it in the fondue. You time it using an app where you choose the type of food. Each person can choose their own color in the app. I think the app could be improved (and help pass the time) by allowing guests to personalize, adding their name, an avatar, etc. Also note that skewers have a different colored band for each person. We had two servers to accommodate our large party and they were excellent. They were able to explain the very complicated menu and have use make selection that we would be happy with. We dined at this restaurant on 2/10 and I attempted to contact the melting pot before leaving a review but got no response to my emails, therefore leaving a review. We had a table of 4, celebrating my birthday, my friends engagement, and Valentine's Day for both of our couples. That being said, we were first sat at a broken table with a cord that crossed the table onto my lap. Upon sitting down, both of my friends got chocolate all over their clothes because the table had not been cleaned. When asked to move tables, they had to check if we could because they "planned to be busy" even though our entire section was empty at the time and they had told us there was a miscommunication and they forgot to even clean our broken table. We were then moved to another small table with one burner for 4 people, even though the rest of the parties that came after us had 2 people and were sat at larger tables. We had the options to order off the Valentine's menu, which interestingly was more limited and more expensive than the normal $89 5 course experience at this restaurant. For our first course we had crab, and as the menu was not explained we asked if we were to choose from the crab or hummus and were told we got crab but could pay extra for hummus. Since we had mentioned 2 of us did not really eat crab, it was not even brought out for us but we still got to be charged for that AND the hummus. We felt it was quite interesting to make us pay for something that was not even brought to the table and that each of our partners would have still eaten if we did not. As the meal went on we noticed we never received our salads at which point we were told the wait staff had "not been trained" on the valentines menu and it was forgotten and came out after we had started our meals. At this point the table was even more crowded as we had 4 people at a one burner table top, our main courses and salads. Overall, we did not want to ruin our experience while we were there since we had so much to celebrate and we had all traveled 1-2 hours to be able to be there, so we did not go out of our way to complain during the meal. The food was all great, but the customer service overall was lacking and gave us a bad feeling from the start. Our waitress was friendly but clearly ill prepared to serve this meal and for over $600 total for our table, we should not have left with any complaints let alone several and stained sweaters. The manager did apologize to us, and removed 2 drinks from our bill, which would not even cover the cost of one of the stained sweaters. We order the 4 course meal. It was so much food. We got a cheese fondue to start. We then selected a salad and choose our meat dishes and our style of cooking them. Lastly we had dessert which was my favorite. We got a plate filled with poundcake, strawberries and other sweet goodies to dip in chocolate. I went for the 4-course Endless Premium Entree, which included filet mignon, teriyaki steak, mushroom ravioli, shrimp, dry rubbed pork, and herb crusted chicken. This 4 course included cheese, salad, entree, and chocolate for $65. I got the Alpine cheese, with extra garlic, and a touch of green goddess added. It was delicious! The cheese was accompanied by a nice sized charcuterie board full of breads, veggies, and apples. The pretzel bread is my favorite, so I opted for an extra bowl of that. Next came my Caesar salad. Everything was fresh and crisp. Of course my favorite part of this salad is the candied pine nuts! Next came the entree. Since the entree was endless, I opted to remove the chicken and to double up on the filet mignon. Everything was so fresh. The meat was red and I enjoyed every bite. I took a refill of the shrimp and the filet to capitalize on the endless entree. I paired the shrimp with their amazing cocktail sauce, which I have learned is not available at every Melting Pot location. I used the teriyaki sauce for pretty much all of the meats! I even dipped the mushroom ravioli in it. That sauce is so versatile!! For the veggies, I opted for a bowl of mushrooms, and passed on the potatoes and broccoli that usually come with it. Of course, I stuffed those mushroom caps w/ the green goddess sauce. And happy to report that I received whole mushroom caps, not mushroom caps cut up into 4s like I did at the Melting Pot in Red Bank! All of the dipper plates were plentiful and refills on everything were accommodated. This had the look and feel of a $65 meal. Lastly, I went for a traditional milk chocolate with peanut butter for my dessert. Again, I received a dessert dippers boat that was very full. I asked for extra rice krispy treats since those are my favorites. The waffles are also really good, and really tasted awesome with the chocolate peanut butter combo! I've heard that it is a bit pricy, but I've had and enjoyed fondue in Switzerland, which was also pricey, and I've enjoyed Korean hot pot style restaurants, so I figured that Melting Pot would be worth giving a shot, but I've got to say....nearly $200 for 2 people for some boiled meat and some cheese dipped bread...I left feeling a little taken advantage of. I would never go to a restaurant and order boiled meat, ever, much less for $53+ per person. My husband joked with me the whole time he's going to be "surprising" me with boiled meat pot for dinners in the future. Save your money and skip the main course for sure. I agree with the overriding sentiment that the MP is certainly unique and it's a great experience but I can't drink the five star Kool-Aid for two reasons. * The place is wildly overpriced for what is offered. I get it that they have to charge what they do seeing as if they're lucky maybe each tables sees two seatings a night but even still price wise it's a ripoff. It shouldn't come to nearly $150 for four people when two are children and no alcohol is involved. * Everything takes way, way too long. For this visit we came on a Thursday night and from the time we walked in the front door until we walked out it was a luscious two hours and forty-three minutes. While the MP process of eating/cooking is inherently slow, this was just stupid. Our guy "J" was super friendly and while the place was maybe half full he was stretched too thin with too many spread out tables which led to very long waits. Two separate times he said he would procure a drink refill only to have a manager-type come by later asking if we needed anything while neither brought the aforementioned drink until being asked a third time or at the end where it took over fifteen minutes for the check after he said he would be right back with it. In terms of the food, nothing is terrible (good shrimp & sirloin) but nothing is over overwhelmingly good (chicken is a flavorless waste & the candied nuts on the Caesar salad are bizarre) and if there is one complaint here it's the cheese and the cooking broth both taste very oversalted/seasoned. I should also mention for the sake of fairness that I'm not a chocolate person so the orgasmic highs that people get coming here because of the chocolate course do nothing for me. Overall MP is a decent special occasion gimmick that can be a fun experience no doubt, just don't expect to be blown away with anything, except for the price. (Also a word to the wise about parking. Free parking in the area is more or less impossible unless you'd like a nice walk and all of the meters which are close by only have two hour max time limits which won't get the job done if you come here. Don't risk not going out to pay for more time as the city's gestapo parking authority will tag you and bag you if you doddle more than a few minutes.) read more

We visited for NYE and I'm just disappointed with our experience overall. Our waiter Joey was the true saving grace and Phil the manager helped as well. We arrived a few minutes early for our 8:45 reservation and were seated just after 9:00. Our table was at the back of the restaurant adjacent to the very noisy kitchen. We sat for about ten minutes and I was ready to leave because I was frustrated with the idea of a $200 bill disrupted my a noisy kitchen and a table that was less than cozy - quite different from previous MP experiences both here and in Albany NY. In short our waiter came, was excellent and offered us another table that was still adjacent to the kitchen but had a door that could close to soften the noise a bit after discovering it was still loud. Phil, the manager, came to check on us and offered us complimentary beverages. Joey checked multiples times to see if we were okay. The food was good and we received an extra dessert plate from Joey which was a treat but I couldn't help but be disturbed by the dirty plates that kept coming from the kitchen. Every course a small plate came and every single one was dirty. I don't blame Joey for this. He was fabulous. This is a kitchen problem that truly grossed me out. I will return for chocolate or cheese but not for entrees in the future and I will not return for any holidays moving forward. It's been quite a while since I've written a Yelp review, but we had such an outstanding experience with the staff at The Melting Pot in Bethlehem, that I had to let others know, especially since many restaurants have reduced patrons right now. We were two couples who made a reservation at 9:15PM with OpenTable. I called ahead of time and spoke with the manager (I think Dan? I completely forgot to write down his name, I'm so sorry!) and he assured us that they would take us at 9:15PM, despite the fact that their last seating is normally 9. Unfortunately, we ran into delays, and, long story short, were able to speak with Dan multiple times about our anticipated delays who was kind and personable each time, despite the fact that we ended up being about 30 minutes late to the initially scheduled last seating of the night at 9:15. The entire staff went ABOVE and beyond. Not only did many members of his staff stay beyond closing time, but they gave us exceptional service and were even willing to take our food orders ahead of time to make sure that we could get started right away and not keep everyone even later than we already had. Joey, our server, was kind, prompt and helpful despite our profuse apologies for our lateness. I really have never experienced this level of accommodation with a restaurant before. We couldn't thank the staff enough for accommodating us when we would have missed out on a night that we'd really been looking forward to. On top of that, the food was really awesome, the experience was great and we felt safe dining.
