We have been numerous times and the food is fantastic but the customer service has been so poor - which makes me frustrated . Your food arrives with still no drinks . I was in Columbus for one day only while stopping in a road trip and I wanted some good breakfast and TikTok led me here and I'm thankful. I'm from the south but yall that was some of the best sausage gravy I ever had. It was so good I was scraping the bowl. Good tasty food but small portions. Patty Melt is close to $20 but is almost White Castle Sized. Take two double cheeseburger white castles and there ya go....the size of the patty melt. They were good as well but could have been better had the Chefs got off more ingredients and added more sauce, cheese, meat etc to the fries. Why so stingy in this place? It's not like the burgers and appetizers are cheap and this place isn't turning a profit. Load those bad boy fries up and make your burgers BIGGER. It's a Yoga Studio or spin class or something next door so maybe they're trying to cater to that crowd with their DINKY portions. This was our first time in Columbus, Ohio and we wanted somewhere to go after our conference. They were able to accommodate all 15 of us! Naturally, we had to make a reservation with our large number, but I'm pretty sure that applies to any number reservation. The side room they have for larger parties was perfect for us and was super cute! The room had its own speaker they let us connect to play our own music. With the curtains drawn, you could barely hear what was going on in the main restaurant. The food was either the perfect portion or more, so it was definitely worth the money. We all ordered various things, but their pancakes were *chef's kiss*! Crispy edges and soft center with a fried chicken on top was exactly what I needed. The restaurant itself has a really cool aesthetic to it with so many cool dining options it was almost hard to choose! I can agree with some of the comments that the servers could've been a bit more attentive. However our server and food runners were incredibly nice and accommodating when they got to us! Mercury Diner is a space-themed delight. It's rare to find a restaurant with theming this terrific in Columbus. The decor, food, menu, signage and more all showcase the cosmic theme. It's a beautiful space and the Mercury makeover missed no detail. I loved the English muffin breakfast sandwich with egg, cheese and avocado. Hubby appreciated his eggs and crispy potatoes. I was very tempted by the Disco fries, but had eyes only for the Galaxy pie. Yes, that's right, a purple sweet potato pie that is out of this world delicious! I can see going back again soon. Stopped in on a Sunday morning and took a seat at the bar. We got put in an order for the spaceballs to start. The spaceballs and our food came out at the same time, but that was alright because everything was nice and hot! I got the vegetarian big bang with my eggs over hard. The gravy was flavorful but not overwhelming and tasted good with the eggs, biscuits, and potatoes. I will say I was not a fan of the veggie bacon, but my meat-eating partner loved it. My partner's patty melt was gone so fast, so it musy have been good. The spaceballs were sweet without being overwhelming, but the strawberry jam was the star of the show. Wow, the interior decorators nailed it on this place. It is unique, relaxing and beautiful. We didn't get to eat there as the space was half full/half empty, however the only tables they claimed weren't previously reserved were three tiny rounds with u comfortable chairs or counter seating. We tried to sit at both places but the tiny table was too uncomfortably small for my husband and the counter seating left my legs dangling with no foot rest and no back to the stool so my back would of hurt in five minutes. Came here for breakfast with my stepdad who is apparently a regular lol. I ordered the egg and cheese sandwich and he got the traditional breakfast minus the home fries. First let me start my saying the pancakes they serve are MASSIVE and they taste so good like cake! They are very fluffy and sweet. The egg and cheese sandwich really impressed me for how simple of an order it is. The English muffin is made in house and has a delicious sauce on top. I noticed that they offer veggie gravy and veggie bacon, points for the veggies out there! Definitely recommend and saw that they do an after hours burlesque speakeasy. Interior doesn't make up for mediocre service and bad food. My wife and I dined for the cider time at The Mercury Diner today, and our experience was both over stimulating and underwhelming. Our server was mostly on top of it, but she lacked personality and seemed to really just not give a damn. The drinks: I started with the Bloody Mary, which was served to me without the candied bacon it advertised, no straw, and a TON of finely crushed iced. Every sip I took from the top was just watered down tomato juice. I eventually snagged a straw, but still had trouble getting any of the drink, the ice just kept clogging the straw. My wife had a mimosa, but the orange bitters overpowered the actual OJ in the drink, and it ended up just tasting like artificial orange. The coffee had been a highlight in online reviews, so we ordered 2 cups for $8. It was warm but not hot. I asked for real half and half, after just seeing cups of coffee mate on the table. The server said she didn't think they had any and walked away. The food: we had no silverware when it arrived, but after we were able to get some, we dug in. I had the cosmic breakfast and added a side of "crispy bacon". The bacon was two, maybe three (?) small pieces of limp bacon all stuck together. My eggs were burnt to a crisp on the bottom and just straight runny whites on top. The tres leches cake slice served with the meal was dry, which is ironic. The fruit was not ripe. My wife's Mediterranean Moon omelet was so overdone that the scrambled eggs were tough. The hummus was bitey. The decor was cute, but that's where it ends. The music was so loud that we could hardly talk to one another at the small table. Overall, this is one of the worst breakfasts I've had in Columbus, and it came to $61.26 before tip. We decided to stop here for lunch on Easter around 12pm. The inside is spacious and they have ample seating. I might be wrong but it looks like they have a space for events as well. There's a parking lot right next to the building so that's nice. The interior is giving modern diner vibes decked out in space decor. It was about a 10-15 minute wait to get a high top table and no complaints about our server. She bought the food out in a timely manner and stopped by every now and then to check on us. Okay so my daughter and I both tried the patty melt, it was okay. It was definitely bland but didn't taste gross just kind of meh my son got the diner burger and it was mostly the same but what kids is going to complain about a cheeseburger. My husband hand the pancakes and chicken, I don't really know that chicken and pancakes are the best combo but again nothing disgusting just bland. Another day another disappointment. 1st time we went, the service was just ok. Waitress was friendly but didn't really check in on us or offer refills. Food was great! The pancake is amazing! Nice and fluffy but fully cooked. 1 pancake can feed 4 people. Got the burrito and it was good as well. The English muffins (which are homemade) are soft & delicious! Was disappointed in the service but hey, everyone can have an off day so we decided to try it again in a couple weeks. Now onto today's visit, was greeted within 4 mins of walking in by a friendly face & sat in the next min. About 6-7 mins later a guy comes and drops off water and ask if he can get us anything else to drink. I ordered a coffee and he brought it. Before we could even say, we're ready to order, he took off. 10 mins goes by and he's sat another table directly behind us. He drops off their water and ask them if they want anything else to drink. They do. So instead of coming to us to see if we're ready, he takes off again. 5 mins later he's back & asks if we're ready. We place our order & tbh we're a tiny bit frustrated. We have a 2 year old with us who is smelling and seeing all the food. She wants some. Our food came out quickly. Not even 5 mins!!! I got scr eggs/sausage/potatoes/english muffin and added a pancake. They were all delicious! ESP the potatoes. My daughter got the burrito again but this time, the bacon wasn't cooked. She pulled out a piece & took another bite to only get another piece that was barely cooked. Ok. No biggie. Let's send it back & get it remade. Except our server never came back. We waited 10 mins & I finally walked up the the bar area where there were 3 people. 1 girl was getting drinks & had her back to me. She walked out to her table. The other 2, 1 being our server was standing there & counting coins. He could see me. Another girl was standing beside him facing me & ignored me. Admittedly at this point I was done. I flagged down another server on my way back to the table & asked if they could please send someone to our table. She spoke to our server & came by to say he was on his way but was there anything pressing that she could take care of. We said no & Ty. He came & we showed him the bacon & he asked if we wanted it remade or anything else in place of it. We said no Ty & he said he was going to take it off the bill. We thanked him & asked for the check. We paid & I left him an ok tip. $4 on a $20 check. I'm not one to make a scene or treat people bad. However I really feel like all of this could've been avoided if he had just paid a bit more attention, it wasn't his fault the bacon wasn't cooked but it was his fault for not checking back. We will try this diner again in maybe 3 months to see if 3rd times the charm. read more

My new favorite restaurant in Columbus. This restaurant is a great combination of retro vibes, mixed with a beautiful Gen Z style of design, cookware, and dining placements. Getting there around 11:30 on a Tuesday it was not very busy, but the staff were incredible and the food service was shockingly quick. I ordered the chicken sandwich with fries, accompanied by a cup of tomato basil soup. The soup came out almost sizzlingly hot, along with the fries, which had just been taken out of the fryer. Incredibly fresh. The chicken sandwich was so delicately put together a beautiful combination, although it was odd when I bit into it, and the chicken had shrunk a little bit from the shell ‍ it was a tad dryer than I like but the overall flavor of the mercury sauce and bun made up for that. The meal was great, the service was quick, the silverware and plates are something I dream of owning, and overall I just felt so good in this place. This place is groovy! It was a beautiful day but the entire vibe is so fun we wanted to stay inside. From the disco balls to the space themed dining space it feels very fun. It reminds me of Starliner Diner in Hilliard but without the Cuban flair. Our server was Saydie who was so sweet, attentive, and did not seem to mind that my friend and I stayed at the table forever catching up. I ordered the Egg Sandwich, fries, and got an ordered the space balls too. Everything was amazing! I can't remember the name of what my friend ordered but she loved it. This is one of my favorite breakfast places. The menu is great, lots of creative takes on breakfast classics. I tend to get the Cosmic Breakfast, which is great. Service is always very attentive and friendly, they have the best staff. The Tres Leches Cereal Cake is amazing, but last time I was there they didn't have it - hopefully that was just a fluke. Coffee servings are generous, mimosas are fantastic. Spaceballs are great, but they're a lot - plan to split them with at least one other person. No complaints with the food. Pricing is very reasonable too, especially given the large portions (the pancakes are MASSIVE). The decor is amazing, but I agree with other reviewers that it's not always practical. The booths are uncomfortable and the fabric is pretty dingy/stained now. There is a rail to rest your feet on if you're sitting at the bar, but it's pretty useless if you're short. The little circle tables are very small and the chairs are a bit uncomfortable, but they are an improvement over the high tops they used to have. This place also has a special place in my heart because I once almost passed out here and the staff were extremely caring. They let me lie down in their private side room, gave me water, and made our food to go. I love this place and I will certainly be back in the future! read more

I liked the design and decor of this place. My menu (which I think doubles as a placemat) had food on it from a previous meal (see photo). The food (I had the Garlic Bread Grilled Cheese and my partner had the Diner Burger) was pretty good, however, our server, Felecia, needs to slow down just a bit. She committed the ultimate server faux pas by walking briskly past our table as she asked, "Is everything okay?" without pausing for even a second for our answer. She was ten feet away before I even had a chance to swallow the food in my mouth to give an answer. No, everything was not okay, Felecia. Why bother asking if everything is okay if you're not going to wait to hear our answer? I had to get up and go remind Felecia that she forget our sodas and some requested mayo. Not a huge deal as she was just 20' away behind the counter but it's the little things that add up. The only urinal in the mens bathroom was out of order when we visited on April 26th so if you're reading this weeks after April 26, 2023 and the urinal in the men's bathroom is out of order, it'll be clear that they don't care about the needs of their customers. Time will tell. I briefly considered giving 3/5 stars because walking briskly past my table while asking, "Ya'll okay?" or whatever without a single pause in your step to hear our answer is one of the worst things a server could do (short of spilling a bowl of hot soup on my head or something) but cut them some slack this time and only dropped one star from my review. We will likely visit again sometime and see if this less than stellar visit was a one time thing or if this is the norm. read more

We met some friends for brunch here and had a great time! The actual restaurant has a cool and retro vibe. The menu was small and concise, but had lots of tasty options! Our group tried a little bit of everything - pancakes, egg sandwich, patty melt, garlic bread grilled cheese, burger (warning: the pancakes are HUUUUGE). The Patty Melt was delicious, I loved the peppers and Mercury sauce! The side of fries were also super crispy! They are serious about the garlic bread grilled cheese being garlicky. In my opinion, it was too overpowering and could have done without the garlic spread on the inside. Overall, a fun place to grab breakfast/lunch/brunch!
