I rarely leave negative reviews, but after this experience I feel obligated to share what happened. My wife and I stayed at The Miami Beach Edition for four nights in an upgraded room costing over $5,600 because we expected the level of luxury and service associated with the Marriott brand. Unfortunately, this was one of the most disappointing hotel experiences we have ever had. From the moment we checked in, our room was extremely hot. We immediately reported the issue and continued to do so over the next three days. Each time we were assured it would be fixed, yet nothing changed. On the third day, engineering admitted the air conditioning unit was broken and even removed the front panel in an attempt to improve airflow. We have photos documenting this. Despite knowing the unit was broken, management did not offer to move us until 6:00 PM on Saturday, just as we were leaving to attend the wedding we had traveled to Miami for. By then, moving rooms was not a realistic solution. What disappointed us most was not only the broken air conditioning, but the complete lack of communication and accountability. No manager ever came to our room to experience the conditions firsthand or followed up after our repeated complaints. The poor maintenance extended beyond our room. Many of the pool lounge chairs, including the one I was assigned, were ripped and torn. We have included photos of both the broken air conditioning unit and the damaged pool furniture. I want to recognize Remington Hogan and the valet staff, who were outstanding and genuinely tried to help. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for hotel management. Although the hotel acknowledged the issues, the compensation offered did not reflect the severity of spending four nights in a room with a confirmed broken air conditioning system. We are loyal Marriott guests and have stayed at many luxury Marriott properties around the world. This experience fell well below the standards we have come to expect. I hope management takes this review seriously and makes meaningful improvements for future guests. read more

Wow, what a hotel. I was here working and had the pleasure of a look around. The decor in short is gorgeous. I also loved the fact that there was some history to this hotel. It was once a vibrant Rat Pack hangout and was originally called The Seville Beach Hotel. It helped define the glamour of Miami in the 1950s. It then got an impressive uplift and became The Miami Beach Edition in 2014. Yabu Pushelberg honoured this glitzy heritage, carefully preserving such elements as the lobby's black and white stone floor and gold mosaic-clad columns, which were initially a roadblock for Ian Schrager (who developed his first hotel there, the Delano, some 20 years ago). There are 2 pools. One pool is actually the original pool with an old school diving board. (Now out of use and for aesthetics only.) We LOOOOOVE the edition hotels. With that said, the price points in Miami are painful for what you get in quality and quantity. The fruit plate was not good (but it wasn't peak fruit season) so I wouldn't recommend ordering if you like your melon to have flavor etc. also $17 for a latte seems steep. The kitchen went above and beyond to accomodate my food allergies however charged me $120 for a side of chicken breast, plate of spinach, avocado and cooked carrots. The staff is SO accommodating. So beyond the food quality and the insane prices, I feel like you really get treated like royalty--though nothing is free lol. Expect to pay an arm and a leg. But this location and hotel layout and room layout just cannot be beat. 10/10 but EXPENSIVE. read more

THE WORST place. DO NOT stay here. We just checked in for our honeymoon and have already decided to leave after only an hour. We prepaid $3,600 for the stay, and then at check-in my husband was charged an additional $4,800. Enrique told us it was for incidentals and stay fees, but the Bonvoy app clearly states there would only be a $650 hold upon arrival. This makes absolutely no sense and feels completely misleading. To make matters worse, they still will not refund the charge back to my husband's credit card until and hour and a half of going back and forth. Yesenia, the manager, was completely unhelpful and couldn't even apologize knowing this was our honeymoon. SAVE YOURSELF the stress and do NOT stay here. We made the biggest mistake trying a new hotel. The W South Beach is where you should stay -- amazing service, amazing staff, and beautiful rooms. read more

My partner and I stayed at the Edition for Thanksgiving weekend. The price is up there but the hotel staff are very friendly and the hotel is beautiful. The hotel has 2 pools, a bar and restaurant, spa, gym, bowling alley, and ice rink. The downside of this hotel is that there is a lot of extra fees - a $65 /day valet car fee, resort fee, and both are taxed. If you have Marriott status, beware the breakfast/points/upgrade options are not available here. We also got charged an extra fee for buying something from the market, but they were able to help us right away to fix that. Apart from that, we would have appreciated more details about the stay, such as the events they host in the basement and the hours for hikes and bowling alley and ice rink. Regardless, the hotel is very clean and luxurious, in a great location with an exit to the beach. The room is cleaned multiple times a day. The downsides of the room is that the sink is very shallow and the vent does not help much in the bathroom. We were told we would have an ocean view but it was more like a partial ocean view. There is complimentary coffee in the morning and espresso at 3pm. The hotel provides beach chairs for the day and bikes (2 hours) which came in handy when we wanted to bike the boardwalk. The gym hosts classes every morning that you must RSVP for prior, and offers extra training at an addition cost. The pool area has restaurants and they provide towels as well as floaties until the evening. Other fun activities include a bowling alley and ice rink which turn into a bar at night with a DJ (the DJ is great!!). I believe that there is a food/drink minimum after 8pm to reserve the bowling lanes. Overall I think this hotel is in a great location and has fun activities in the hotel and around the hotel. If you're looking for a luxurious stay in Miami this is the place! read more

My husband and I just visited this hotel for our wedding anniversary and had the best time! The property is beautiful but the staff/service was incredible! Marina was super kind and went above and beyond to make our hotel experience the best it could be. We are so grateful! We also loved having Gabby serve us at the pool every day. She was very attentive and always made us feel taken care of. We loved getting to meet Kayla Hopewell too.. she took time out to take pictures of us on the property and was so friendly!!! Don't try to bowl here! We stayed at this hotel. The room was small but nice, the pools were nice, the restaurant was good, the bar staff took care of us, we had a good spa experience, but we weren't able to bowl. We came down to bowl the first night we stayed there, and was told there was a $30 food and drink minimum to bowl. Because we just had a few rounds at the bar upstairs, we said we'll be back the next evening . We came back the next day (Monday evening), ready to spend $30 to buy a couple rounds so we could bowl, after having dinner at the hotel restaurant. The bowling lanes were empty! On Monday they told us if we wanted to bowl for an hour, there was a $300 (!) food and drink minimum. We just had dinner--and spent quite a bit of money at the hotel restaurant -- so this was a non-starter, and there were no other options for us. We expect a hotel like this to take care of customers, not send them away. We will never stay here again. read more

This place was enjoyable, they have 3 restaurants, one outside by the pool, Matador room which is more upscale and serves amazing food with outside seating as well. The market is a great place for breakfast and coffee, they serve a nice brunch as well and have a great bakery. The rooms are clean and well maintained with comfy beds, I had an amazing spa day with a great massage and I must say the spa relaxation are is beautiful and relaxing. And just a few steps away from the hotel pool you open the gate and your feet are in white sand beach and there's an area for you to check in at and per two guests per room. You get two complementary lounge chairs along with towels and an umbrella, and they do provide Service from the restaurant on site out to you to the beach. Enjoy read more

Very modern, if not ultra modern. Stark white exterior, lobby, corridors, employees all in white linen, and rooms with wood wall accenting in the rooms. The corridors do need to be painted as white shows all scuff marks and such. Staff is friendly and professional. Two pools and beach access. Service: To start off, the valet service was excellent, the men were quick, attentive, and friendly. They handled our vehicle with care and brought it around in a timely manner. The front desk made check in super easy, they offered water and walked us to the elevators. The gentleman there way friendly and very polite. The cleaning team were also very welcoming and polite. Room Quality: The room was nice, however for the cost and hype around the hotel I expected a little better. Upon entering the room there was a lovely fresh aroma. The bathroom was gorgeous and beautifully designed. The bed was on the smaller side and although the view of the beach was lovely, it would have been nice to have a balcony; although I get the absence of one could be for safety. The room had two fluffy and comfortable bath robes, one had black and brown marks on the arm and back. The bathroom counter was a bit grimy and could have used an extra wipe. Room Amenities: Pretty standard TV, mini refrigerator, safe, iron, mini bar, and mini essentials all at a cost. Hotel Amenities: Aside from the beach and pool access, there is a bar with a bowling alley and ice skating ring to enjoy. The food, staff, and the service was amazing and friendly. The property is beautiful. One specific memory that touched me. While I was eating at one of the restaurants Tropicale, I believe it was the manager Ray or Raymond, but I briefly mentioned to him that I loved the house hot sauce that they had. He later surprises me with a bottle to take home and that kindness, attentiveness and thoughtfulness really made my trip and made my overall feeling about this property as positive. Flew all the way across America from California. Booked the "Oceanview front Suite " Which was 788 sq feet and two separate areas ...when I arrived the excuse was " a pipe just happened to burst in the room that day" they offered me a 488 sq ft room and $200 credit .,, no where near the flawless aesthetics of the suite . Despite the people being kind . We all know this was an absolute lie . Also hotel is under construction and apparently only "3 floors" were open w the 3 other exact suites I purchased already booked despite me prepaying and booking weeks in advance . A free hotel stay should have been warranted. I was exhausted tired and beyond upset . The nice man room manager was great and so was the girl at the front . But come on ... just so happened the other 3 2 bedroom suites were booked ? Dont believe it . I looked exhausted tired and my hair was frizzy for my photoshoot my entire savings wasted after a 3 year long rare cancer battle when I havent been able to travel in years bc I had been sick. Loved, love,loved this hotel! Room was very comfortable and well decorated. Loved the pillows so much I'm buying them for my home. Bed was pleasantly comfortable. Bathrobes are super comfy. The only caveat is they're too small for a six foot man. Gym was great with cold towels in the fridge, good equipment selection. Two pools, a bowling alley which was a hit with kids and adults (they need more lanes!), the ice skating rink was a hit with me :) Loved the lobby, plenty of comfortable seating and a pool table. Service with everyone at the hotel was excellent. Thank you to management for training the employees well! There's a gate that leads to the beach or boardwalk, works well. The MB Edition has been around for quite some time with my first visit being as far back as 2013. While I've been a fan of Matador (Jeremy Ford days), the spa and even the chocolate marshmallow cake/carrot cake at the Market...it isn't until now that we decided to staycate for Labor Day weekend. I've always been impressed with the general areas, a huge fan of the Le Labo collab and their exclusive scent with Edition. On the surface, you would think this hotel is 5 STAR, after staying i'd say 3.5 perhaps 4 if I'm feeling generous...at $800 a night the imperfections came thru. The room is bright, spacious and clean which I absolutely loved, but they skimped on the details. The bathroom sink/vanity on our Ocean View room was super cheap, cracked and refilled with caulking. The design on the sink while modern and seemingly innovative was uncomfortable and not practical. Additionally, no high end fixtures and lots of sloppy work. I would most definitely stay here again but would NEVER pay more than $450 for this property. Location is prime and I love that water is generously distributed by staff, service is friendly and there are "local perks." Cuban Coffee at 3:05, complimentary donut doles in the AM, Refreshments upon checking in, free bikes, towels/chairs on beach and the fact it's a Marriott property giving you the ability to earn points for your stay are clutch. It's an awesome property overall but it is not in my opinion "luxurious" or on par with other Edition properties found abroad. read more

My first time staying at this hotel. I like the decor of the lobby, it's all white. The uniforms, floor...even the pool table was white. Very cool. All the staff is very friendly. The gym is decent. The rooms were ok, it's a little dated and I could see some of the wear and tear but it's not too bad. I booked an ocean view which ended up being a partial ocean view. So, my first night started out in a disaster because of an unfortunate incident with one of the housekeeping staffers who poorly cleaned my room, before check-in. My shower wasn't clean at all and had fresh soap scum and a huge glob of gooey hair left out in the open big as day. I didn't discover this until I decided to take a shower at 1 AM. So I wound up having to switch rooms in the middle of the night. It was very annoying. After switching rooms, I realized I lost my balcony so they agreed to switch me to a balcony room when one checked out the following day. The reason I still gave them 5 stars is because, when I reported it to management they immediately got on top of it and rectified the situation and put me in a new room and had security help me move. I was gone most of the morning and afternoon, the following day, and when I returned to my room, I had a nice note from Michealla, Housekeeping Director, along with some complimentary treats and a bottle of wine. They have gone out of their way to make this right for me and I truly appreciate that. I got several other perks from them to make up for the inconvenience. I was assured the staff member who poorly cleaned my room would be dealt with and would not clean my room during my stay. It's unfortunate when u have a business and get a few bad apples who don't care about it as much as u do so I do not blame the hotel. It's hard to control who is down until something goes wrong. At the initial night of the incident I knew I would NEVER stay here again but after realizing it was an isolated incident and still being able to enjoy the rest of my trip, I would definitely stay again. It's difficult to criticize this hotel because the staff is so wonderful. At check in, Liam remembered me from a previous visit and brought me a cocktail while I was waiting in line. Julie was marvelous checking me in and got me an upgrade to an ocean view room. The property is in a marvelous location. Both of the pools are magnificent. However, there are a few opportunities for improvement. The inch-deep sinks need to go during the next remodel. The one in my room was clogged and almost over-flowed the first night when I went to brush my teeth and wash my face before bed. I reported this to the front desk and maintenance quickly fixed it. I'm not sure why housekeeping never noticed and had it addressed before I occupied the room. Nonetheless, the design is a mistake. No doubt it will be expensive to replace but needs to be done. I cannot be the only guest who is annoyed about the amount of splashing when using it. One-inch deep looks cool but is not practical for actual use. The bed was saggy in the middle and doesn't seem to be the same quality as other Bonvoy properties. I was surprised to see mold or mildew in the shower. Past time for a deep clean? Also annoying was that the web site still says there is 24-hour room service. Nope. I understand COVID restrictions, and many outside rating organizations consider 24-hour room service as a requirement for the top tier. But if it is not provided, the website should be corrected. To say I could call UberEats and have something delivered is not really a solution. It's a pretty simple rule: if you can't provide 24-hour room service, do not advertise that you do. I was happy to see a minibar and made use of it for a couple cocktails. So many hotels have gotten rid of their minibars even pre-COVID. But the snacks were two candy bars and two bags of potato chips. There are no ice dispensers on the floor. I had to call guest service to have some sent up. It arrived quickly. However, the tonic water and ginger ale in the minibar were not replaced during the day. Guest services informed me they could not send more up in the evening. I don't particularly mind people swimming in the pool at 3am, but could not someone from management ask them to be more quiet about it? All the staff is wonderful: friendly and helpful. People vacuuming carpets in the hallways say "hello" and ask about my stay. The front desk and concierge are marvelous. I really want to say this is one of the best hotels in Miami Beach. But, there are a few reasons why it's not quite all that it could be. read more

Just got back from a long Labor Day weekend stay at the Miami Beach Edition. We had a great time. The grounds of this place is really beautiful and it makes you feel like you're some place far away from urban life. We never left during our stay except to make a coffee run to the Starbucks across the street. As soon as you walk in you can see how clean and well thought out the hotel is. Even the smell of the hotel was relaxing. Staff went above and beyond and work really hard to ensure guests stay is effortless. Honestly I'm not sure how staff remain so calm and professional around so many entitled narcissistic guests. Grounds have two pools one is salt water. Steps to the beach with full service. Food was delicious and fresh. Not too much to not like. There's a market and a restaurant. So many little hideaway places to sit and relax. Room was spotless and very clean. I don't know how many reviews it will take for the management to fix their beach service. As as a Club member of Miami Beach Edition, I come here all the time. I am yet to walk away thinking "what a wonderful day at the beach". They need to urgently change the beach service company! These beach attendants are nowhere to be found or if they are, they act like they are bothered fm take your order. Every other time, there are no towels, no water served. After much debate, research, and talking with my friends who frequent or live in Miami over staying at the local Ritz Carlton, W, or The Edition hotel, I decided to book with The Edition. The weekend I chose ended up being the International Boat Show Weekend so that may have influenced the pricing. The cost for any of the four options was +/-$2,000/night and the points option was 100,000/night. The Good: The hotel is located on a beautiful spot on Miami Beach. There is a nice running/bike path behind and the beach is amazing. The facilities are great. Two really nice pools overall. The room was nice. The gym was decent size and well appointed. The yoga class (pic below) was at 9 am on Friday morning. It was great way to start Friday. Instructor was super interactive and very calming and friendly. There were some other fun options there were not standard hotel activities: pool table, skating rink, and bowling alley. The Bad: The service for the price point was not great. There was a few employees that exemplified what the hotel service should have been, but many just seemed to be there as a place holder. Unless you got there a little after 9 am, all pool lounges were taken (just reserved, not actually having people sitting in them) so get there early to get the best spots. The west side of the side pool gets the early sun, but the eastside get the later in the afternoon sun. The side pool area was very shaded overall by the palms. I don't know if it was because of President's Day weekend, but there were a lot of children at the hotel compared to my experiences with luxury hotels. Miami is expensive, you are not going to find deals there. The Ugly: They gave two poos about status with Marriott. I am Titanium and I realize it is not a guarantee to get any upgrades or anything special, but they gave zero acknowledgement. I believe we got one of the worst rooms (501) in the hotel and I was told they could not give me anything better. I had to all but beg to get a late checkout at 12:30 pm. Seriously who is coming into the hotel on Sunday? Maybe everyone was Ambassador status that weekend and I was low man on the totem pole. Going back to the service, we ordered humus at the pool for an appetizer before we went to lunch. After an hour, I had to hunt down the server (she disappeared and never came back at this point) and told her to cancel the order. She then was insistent that we get it to go. I told her no we were going to lunch then and didn't have time to wait. She seemed annoyed, sorry you don't get your $3 auto-grat tip. The dinner at Matador had great food, but my drink sat empty a lot of the time. In both circumstances, the service is auto gratuity at 18% so there is a lack of care to give excellent service at the restaurants and bars. This was systemic for Miami. Overall it was a beautiful hotel, problem is the staffing. For the dollars spent, the feeling of luxury just was not there. I absolutely love love love Editions worldwide. Amazing hotel, amazing hospitality. Except the beach service in Miami. It feels like it is outsourced to a mom and pop shop which most Miami Beach chair and umbrella services are. Today, they are out of towels while 60% of the chairs are empty. You are supposed to immediately get waters - good luck. An hour later, towels come in, they have massive holes in them and already look dirty as in the pictures posted. The manager is also always very arrogant. At 5pm, they start packing the chairs. I was one of the few people left on the beach, instead of packing everything else, the manager forced me to sit on the sand and spent another hour while packing other chairs - what a customer service. Come on Edition Miami. You can do better. If you can't, have someone from another property like Bodrum teach you the ropes. read more

This hotel is beautiful. They are located right on the beach with spectacular views. I love the way that everything is modern and simple. The lobby kind of feels like you're outside because they have so many plants and it's very bright with different shades of neutrals. I love the way this hotel is furnished and designed. It's give an almost foreign vacation vibe. My boyfriend and I came here for a couple of nights and I am sad that we are leaving, but headed to the Bahamas. Poor me. I hope I get to come back to the Edition soon. We got lucky and got to watch the air show and fireworks here for Memorial weekend. They also make really delicious smoothies at the poolside restaurant. The other restaurant called Matador Room is gastronomic. I didn't take pics of my meal unfortunately because it was SOO GOOD I WOLFED IT DOWN. Highly recommend the black truffle pizza, the crispy artichokes, spicy tuna tartare and the 33oz ribeye was marvelous. Very romantic dinner shared with my man.
