Nicer steak and bar with a good local ambiance on a Thursday night. Attentive staff, tasty food, and plenty of seating. We split a huge wedge salad with plenty of bacon and chunks of blue cheese. I ordered the root beer braised beef shoulder which fell of the bone and was served with a gravy over mashed potatoes. I'd order that again. Underwhelmed by service food and ambience. Made a reservation-did not seem to have been necessary waited without evidence of a hostess for significant amount of time. Several people came to host stand and left without asking us if we needed anything. People ahead of us without reservations were seated. We requested a booth, but those were "reserved". Tried to seat us in the bar, until we objected, then seated us right next to a newly seated couple, even though there seemed to be plenty of open seats. Waiter chatted up the table seated with us, even though we were right there with table full of dirty dishes- we moved some to the window ledge. The dessert was excellent. Maybe the less expensive offerings would be good. The Prime Rib was not great. The seating was not welcome to lingering enjoyment. read more

Amazing food, fantastic service, delicious drinks...if we are back in the area, we will definitely come back to The Mint! There were 4 of us. We had the small filet, the ribeye, and spanish stuffed peppers for dinner. Followed by the peanut butter pie for dessert. I also had the Kentucky Saint cocktail to drink...it was so delicious!!!! I enjoyed every aspect of our meal. We were near the back across from the bar in a little nook, which was cozy for us. The hostess and servers were very nice and professional. Food was very good. Ribeye steak ordered rare plus as well as prime rib (only on Friday and Saturday nights). Both were delicious and cooked perfectly. This was a 3.5 star experience for us. The place was packed, so service was friendly but a bit slow. We didn't mind, we were in no rush. The disappointment was in the flavor of the ribeye, and the fact that the prime rib was over cooked. Otherwise, everything else was delicious, and the meat was obviously very fresh and great quality. We have eaten at The Mint for years. It's never bad, my potatoes, gravy, and slaw were delicious. And althoughThe Mint is not usually bad, it is definitely inconsistent depending on the chef that day. I won't order the chicken again. I have eaten in the mint, café and bar for over 20 years. The food was incredible, atmosphere incredible, and everything about it was wonderful. Unfortunately , it was sold and went downhill from there on. The new owner changed everything. It was very sad. The food was horrible as well. It was then bought again, and did a complete turnaround. The greatness of the food and atmosphere have since been restored. The French onion soup is so delicious and perfectly made that I order it every time I go there. The Caesar salad is fantastic as well. There are so many good quality dishes on the menu, including burgers, steak, seafood and more. The Mint Cafe is a really great place to go with your friends and enjoy a delicious meal. read more

First time dining at The Mint recently while in town visiting our son. It's been a favorite of his for quite some time and we were eager to try it. We can see now why he's such a fan- we had a fantastic evening. The ambiance was warm and welcoming. Our server Sasha was fantastic. There were 5 of us and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meal. We took the grandmas out to dinner while they were visiting. This is a fun "Montana" feeling spot and seems to do a good business. This was my second visit in two years. We went early- about 5pm and it was empty on our arrival. Not too concerning since we were eating early. I ordered an Old Fashioned from the impressive bar but it came with crushed ice, no dressings and tasted like nothing I've ever had, including an Old Fashioned. My husband and I split the beef stroganoff and that was a sad heap of dry fettuccine in watery liquid with some tiny dried out mushroom caps floating around a dollop of sour crème. The grandmas liked their meals enough so that was good. Yay! My hopes were high for the smallish menu which usually means they got their dishes down to a science and don't feel the need for an expansive five page booklet. But no, even the spinach and artichoke dip was lacking on every level, tasteless and definitely not fresh. Hugely disappointed and won't go back again. My overall impression is if you're not prepared to open at 4pm, don't open at 4pm. Wait staff was friendly and accommodating to the grandmas, hence the three stars. read more

Montana charm at its finest. Classiest place to eat in Belgrade, MT. Great short drive if you'd like to hop out of Bozeman a little bit to catch a glimpse of smaller town Montana. Love the space, located in an old restored brick building in Belgrade's old downtown. Their Montana decor is rugged and charming. The neon sign outside is so neat. I'm sure there is cool history behind the sign and space. Four of us went for dinner and all of our food was solid. Classed up home style Montana food. The pot roast style beef shoulder and steak fingers appetizer seemed to be our tables favorite dishes. The steak fingers are not what you might expect, marinated bites of tender steak (not breaded) served with a grainy mustard for dipping- so good. My organic roasted chicken was tender, not dried out and the cauliflower mash it was served with was great. The flourless chocolate cake stole the show at the end of our meal! All of us agreed it may be the best one we've ever had. read more
