3 pupusas / Revueltas. Curtido and Salsa

Small place. Clean The good: pupusas delicious, big, hot The bad: first impressions count !! Feels like you are intruding in their place! A smile goes a long way! I will come back but not expecting to have a good service. I will give a second chance

I came in here when I saw Salvadorean food--didn't even notice the Hawaiian, that's a pretty cool combo. Anyway, I asked if I needed cash or card and was told that the owner wasn't around and so the employees couldn't use the credit card machine. I was in the mood for pupusas so I got in my car and drove to my bank to get cash out. I came back and my order still wasn't ready which is fine because if it's fresh to order, better for me. I got two pupusas revueltas, yuca frita w/chicarron and horchata. Yooooo, the pupusas were big and tasty (and hot!). I was so sad when I finished the second one because there wasn't anymore left for later. I moved onto the yuca frita and boy was this a bust. The chicharrón was old and gross. I hate throwing out food but that's what I had to do. It looked and tasted like it had been sitting out for days. The horchata was good but a little on the expensive side considering other places sell it for cheaper.

The wait is worth it!!!!! Look at these pics I love a place that can COOK! Just had the thickest, cheesiest, best pupusa of my life. Wish I could come here more often

Their Sopa de Pollo is extremely tasty and you get a ton of stuff for $10 (a huge soup, tortillas, rice and a ton of chicken). Arryan Juice is simply incredible and I would go back just for that (not sweet and very unique/refreshing). Yucca Frita con chicarones was pretty tasty. However, the pupusas were mostly masa and needed a lot more filling to be good. They were a disappointment. Very polite and attentive customer service. Ton of parking. Cash only

Five minutes to 7:00 and the sign says that they close at 9:00. But the doors are locked and the sign's off. Not a very good first impression.

A friend of mine brought in pupusas to work. He said it is a Hawaiian/ Salvadoreno restaurant. I said, "Are you sure?" Sure enough, he was right....Fast forward today, I am enjoying my revuelta, chicken, veggie, squash and cheese pupusas. Que delicioso! (Non meat for my daughter, she concurs with my review.) My wait time was 25 minutes, so I went to a panadería and bought some pan dulce. Sure enough, order took 25 minutes. You can't rush a masterpiece. Be patient, then enjoy.

Best pupusas around. The service can be a little lacking if they're busy (attitude wise). But overall good people.

My boyfriend is Salvadoran, so we're always on the hunt for great pupusas and yuca frita. We…read moreusually make the drive to North Hollywood, but decided to give this place a try--and it definitely did not disappoint! We started with the ensalada, which was refreshing and had just the right amount of sweetness. For pupusas, we ordered the revueltas, loroco con queso, and frijol con queso. We tried both corn and rice dough, and honestly, both were delicious. My personal favorite was the frijol con queso with the rice dough- so flavorful and perfectly cooked. The yuca frita was exactly how it should be: crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside. The chicharrón was cooked perfectly as well, and the homemade green salsa that the sweet lady helping us made was the perfect addition. She was so kind, welcoming, and always had a friendly smile, which made the experience even better. Another thing that really stood out was how clean the restaurant is. It's spacious, with plenty of seating whether you're coming with a large group, your family, or just stopping by for a meal on your own. We absolutely loved this place and will definitely be back. Next time we're bringing my Salvadoran in-laws- I have a feeling this place will get their authenticity approval too! Spanish!

Service was quick, there is a big dining room with plenty of seating in case you want to dine in, looked very clean. Massive pupusas with a lot of filling, not one of those restaurants that give you nothing but masa, these pupusas were legit. They come with Curtido and the usual salsa roja. So much flavor packed into these things, these are some of the best pupusas I've ever had, good size and they do not cheap us out on filling. Definitely try em if you're in the area! Parking on the street, or in the back very limited in the alley.

I wasn't able to find any reviews on their ceviche. I should've gone with their pupusas. I hate to say it, but it was the worst ceviche I've ever had. The fish was cut into about 5 big chunks. It had cucumber, onion, avocado, and a few tiny pieces of tomato. Like 3. Very disappointed. Stick to the Tierra. No Mar. We like the pupusas from there. And the restaurant is cute and generally has good service. Might check it out again if I want pupusas, but won't be getting seafood from here. Do I recommend this spot for pupusas? Sure! Or any other local pupusa spot. I don't think I've had bad pupusas anywhere. Thanks!

Water was good. Pupusa was a little cold I didn't feel like reheating but had good flavor I really liked the Curtido and sauce. Curtido had good flavor and I loved the crunch it had it added a bit of fresh crisp to the pupusa. I also added a note if I can have extra curtido (goes fast in our family) and they did with no extra charge appreciate that a lot. The platanos were really good not greasy beans were a bit salty but together with the platano and crema perfect. Daughter said their bean pupusa was lacking cheese. I would come back to eat here again.

Everything was absolutely delicious. The meats were grilled perfectly. The asada had a great char and was flavorful without being overly salty, and the shrimp were cooked just right -- tender with a nice smoky finish from the grill. The pupusas were clearly made fresh and full of flavor. The revuelta had that classic savory, cheesy richness, while the loroco pupusa had a unique, slightly floral earthiness that makes Salvadoran food so special. Both were comforting and satisfying. The horchata really stood out. It's different from Mexican horchata and has a nutty, deeper flavor profile with a strong black sesame note that was incredibly delicious and memorable. The maracuyá drink was bright, tangy, and refreshing -- a perfect balance to the richness of the food. Overall, every dish felt thoughtfully prepared and full of authentic flavor. Loroco Bistro is an easy recommendation if you're craving hearty, delicious Salvadoran food. Definitely coming back.
