    Dry Rub Boneless Wings

The upgrades they've made look really good, and I like that there is a food menu now. (As opposed to just food trucks). We sat on the upstairs patio, which was beautiful and the band playing was great, The Gamut. Unfortunately, the only negative was the waitress, Deni. She was predominantly the only one up there, outside of a few food runners. Perhaps it was just being understaffed & overwhelmed, but there were no apologies. She rarely checked in, and she was not very friendly. For some reason I received my food at least 45 minutes after the four other people I was with. I had to ask her for it, again, no acknowledgment or apology. I asked her about the meal being comped and she laughed and made a funny face. At one point, she came to get drink orders and only asked two people before she disappeared. The rest of us ended up walking to the bar to get our drinks. At least the dry rub boneless wings I ordered were good and my drink! (Monkey See Monkey Do!)

The location alone makes this place worth a visit. Sit on the patio overlooking the river. Dance with locals to live music. Or enjoy the historic brick bar's indoor/outdoor seating and tvs that play the local games. Food trucks, lots of draft beers, and friendly service make this place special.

    Chips from wrap.

The past two times we went to the Monkey Bar them seem to be out of a lot of beers. A couple weeks ago when I ordered three different drafts they were out. The sever showed me on her hand held computer and they were out of about 1/4 of the drafts they had listed. Today when we went the 1st beer I ordered they were out. They did have the second draft. Wife ordered a Chardonnay and they came back 5 mins later and said they did not have enough for a glass. They offered a Pinot Grigio and my wife accepted. We order our food and before it came we asked for another around of drinks. A couple mins later waitress comes back and said they were out of the Pinot. They only had one glass, and they offered it for her after they said they were out of Chardonnay? Waitress then showed what they had for wine and they were out of four other types of wine, no whites. I don't know how you run out of wine! Our food came, I ordered a double smash burger came out as a single and waitress could not tell if it was a double or single. She had to take it back to kitchen to tell if it was double and it was a single. Wife got a wrap that came with chips and it looked like the chips were from the bottom of the bag all crumbled. The wrap was good but chips were pathetic My smash burger was ok but most of it was bread and lettuce. Service was slow because only one bar was open, outside. We were sitting in the upper area that over looks the patio. The waitress has to come up to us to wait on us then go down stairs to the bar outside. Management seems to not care. For the prices they charge you would think the have it together but this seems to be pattern for them lately.

Great place on the little Miami river. Outside patio, inside fireplace and deck dining. Heck just a few minutes from Kings Island. Come out to sit , eat and have a few beers. The river view is so calming. Always enjoying this place to visit for a beer. Plenty of parking.

Scenic views, lots of great seating options. Fire pits in the summer. Music always playing. This place has a lot of vibes if you just want to be outside with a beer. The food is basic but good - great hot dogs and surprisingly good pizza - but $15 is a lot for a personal sized pizza. "Grille" is a generous term for it. There's usually an additional food truck too though so that's nice. I've never been impressed with the staff - they always act like they can't be bothered. All in all - if you want a place outside for beer go here. If you want more full service I'd recommend elsewhere.

tasty food, great views, and fast service! love this place for a quick dinner and patio time. i love the chili cheese dog 10/10. the fries are a newish addition and are so crispy and tasty. we also tried the cheese bread and it was alright. kinda just tasted like a pizza with no sauce. 6/10. we also tried the potato skins and wish they had a little bit more flavor. 7/10.

Ask the Community - The Monkey Bar & Grille

Do they have tvs to watch sports?

Yes they have several including a projection screen outside.

    Is this location dog friendly?

Definitely. Usually see a couple of dogs on the big patio every time I visit. It can get pretty packed some days so as long as the pup is ok with a crowd.

BALDWHITEGUYREVIEWS: BUCKS TAVERN 3299 West State Route…read more22/3, Loveland, OH www.buckstavern.com https://www.facebook.com/BaldWhiteGuyReviews/ WE FOUND A TAVERN IN THE WOODS... IN A STRIP MALL. And honestly, I'm not mad about it. I'm always on the hunt for somewhere local, somewhere new, and somewhere that gives me an excuse to eat entirely too much food. The Cute Dimpled One somehow found Bucks Tavern on the World Wide Web. Apparently the internet isn't completely useless. We needed somewhere to grab some fuel before heading off for a Nippert at Night experience. Now here's the problem... The game didn't start until around 7:30. My bedtime is 8:30. So basically, this was going to be an extreme endurance event. THE ATMOSPHERE Bucks Tavern is tucked into a strip mall in Loveland. Parking wasn't a problem for us, although I'm guessing things could get a little more interesting during the busy times. From the outside? Meh. Then you walk inside... WAIT A MINUTE. The outside says strip mall. The inside says "somebody's uncle owns a cabin in the woods and has been collecting deer heads since 1974." Warm colors, plenty of seating, a fireplace with a deer head hanging above it, high tops, low tops, a fully stocked bar and TVs everywhere. And speaking of high tops... Who decided these tables were a good idea? You sit down and suddenly you're back in elementary school sitting at the Big Kids Table, except now your legs are dangling and you're wondering if you're going to need a step stool to get back down. I really liked the decor. It was comfortable, welcoming and had that neighborhood tavern feel. And there were plenty of people inside who clearly weren't first timers. The staff seemed to know several of the customers. That's a good sign. It had a little bit of a Cheers vibe. You know the kind of place where somebody walks in and three people yell, "HEY BOB!" That's what you want in a local tavern. Mrs. Patty L. was our server and she was fantastic. She kept my water full, which is basically the gold standard for me. #Score THE FOOD Mrs. Patti L stopped by and got us started with the Mozzaluna Breaded Cheese. Basically breaded mozzarella triangles with marinara. The cheese was creamy. The marinara was good. Plenty of food. But... $13? I'm going to need the mozzarella to start telling me its life story for that price. It wasn't bad at all. I just didn't think it was a $13 appetizer. The Mrs. ordered the 5 Mini Burgers. Her review? She likes the mini burgers. Same price range as a regular burger, but she likes having five little burgers staring back at her. And naturally, she didn't eat them all. Because apparently we ordered enough food to feed a small township. I started looking through the menu trying to find something different. Bucks has a pretty traditional tavern menu with burgers, sandwiches, Reubens, club sandwiches, brats, tenderloin, chicken, fish, salads, soups and desserts. But then I saw it... THE MEATLOAF SANDWICH. Ladies and gentlemen... WE HAVE A WINNER. MEATLOAF SANDWICH A "Signature Sandwich" they say. Homemade meatloaf, lightly grilled, on a telera bun with pork barbecue, fried onion straws and barbecue sauce. And crinkle-cut fries. When it hit the table my first thought was: "Holy crap. That's a lot of sandwich." My second thought was: "Well, I guess we're doing this." I am a BIG fan of meatloaf. My grandmother and mother both made great meatloaf, and despite years of trying, I have never managed to duplicate either one. So whenever I see meatloaf on a menu, I'm probably ordering it. This one did NOT disappoint. The bun was delicious. The meatloaf was excellent. Then you get the pork barbecue and barbecue sauce kicking in, and suddenly your taste buds are having a little meeting. It was messy. Not "grab a napkin" messy. I'm talking cut-the-sandwich-in-half, deploy-the-napkins, accept-your-fate messy. I have a big mouth. No comment necessary. It was a challenge. The crinkle-cut fries were also cooked perfectly. Crispy without being burnt. And yes... I ate the whole thing. I was absolutely stuffed. Which brings me to something I need to address with myself... I NEED TO STOP ORDERING AN APPETIZER. Every single time. I walk into a restaurant hungry and suddenly I'm like: "Yeah, we should probably get an appetizer." Then the food arrives and I'm sitting there thinking: "Who authorized this?" #SaveTheAppetizer THE GOOD STUFF Friendly service Clean restrooms Comfortable atmosphere Full-service bar Plenty of seating Lots of TVs for sports Food portions that don't leave you wondering where the rest went Local neighborhood feel Staff that actually seemed to know their regulars Bucks even advertises eight HD televisions and Sunday Ticket, so if you're looking for somewhere to watch a game, they clearly came prepared. They've also been around since 2009, s

Traditional Italian dishes with special touches. Elegant setting. Good for groups…read more We met here with friends from a wedding a few days earlier, about a dozen of us in all. The restaurant set us up in a windowed private room with some art on the wall and a wood-beamed white ceiling. We arrived a little later than the others, and the attentive staff had plied the room with beverages and apps, so the group was quite jolly by the time we got there. Beverages included a Moet & Chandon Imperial brut champagne toast to the newlyweds, white and red wine house table-wines, and sweet bright home-made lemonade. For appetizers, we had fresh baked rolls with traditional herbed lightly-spiced warm fresh olive oil. Margherita Flatbread of creamy fresh mozzarella and ripe tomatoes with fresh basil on thin crispy crust. Italian Wedding soup with delicate orzo pasta, light flavorful meatballs, spinach & Parmesan. And chopped salad with fresh crisp cucumbers, zingy red onions, juicy tomatoes, black olives, crumbled feta, tangy vinaigrette, 6 servings kindly divided amongst the 12 of us. Main dishes included rich savory Spaghetti Bolognese. (They dont serve angel hair pasta.) Several generous medium-spicy large-shrimp Fra Diavolo with lobster-butter and curled-flower-shaped campanelle pasta. Several cheesy tomato-sauced chicken parmesan over linguine. Intensely flavorful chicken tomato mozzarella caprese over tender orzo, farro-grain, zucchini, & spinach with pesto vinaigrette and drizzled with balsamic reduction. Richly-creamy Fettuccini Alfredo. Spaghetti and Meatballs with grated nutty Grana Padano hard cheese. Long dishes of lasagna which include home-made alfredo, And a tasty kids' cheese pizza. I must have missed some. We were quite satisfied, yet we managed to share a rich dessert of mascarpone / cookie / chocolate-dusted Tiramisu. It was a lovely unhurried evening. We'll return for the ornate bar and main dining room, or perhaps the outdoor dining! Every single dish is a candidate for our next meal here :-) I will tip you to two things that others knew and that we learned the hard way: (1) There's another branch of this restaurant farther west, which is why we were late, so be careful setting your navigation! For the record, i also posted this review there by mistake! (2) The long trains that cross Reading north of Sharonville turn north just to the east, which is why we were late from sitting alone waiting at the crossing, while everyone else diverted up US-42 Lebanon Rd :-) Yes, i managed to be late from both of those!

They were very busy. So busy, that they forgot to give us silverware. Sam Adams was on the menu,…read morebut they were out, so I had Stella Alton's (and it was good). The salad was a smaller size than I had once remembered. They brought free bread, but didn't grade cheese on our meals. Other than the lack of cheese on my chicken parmesan, it was good. My wife thought the egg plant Parmesan would have more seasoning on it, and a red sauce. The tiramisu was cold. The chocolate cake was smaller and more expensive than Graeter's.
