I've come here a couple times to do work on my laptop. Parking is easy as it's right next to a grocery store, so there are plenty of spots. I really enjoy that I can order from a machine rather than talking to a cashier lol. Today I tried the strawberry matcha drink, which was just okay. In the past, I tried their sriracha chicken croffle, which was delicious! Highly recommend it. I came here on a Thursday evening and it was pretty crowded with people all doing work on their laptops. It seems like it's strategically placed so wherever you go within a certain radius it's within reach to satisfy your craving. Mug service is in effect but upon request and availability and also the mason jars for iced drinks. Sandwiches and a sweet variety of pastries are also available to accompany your bevies. We ordered the tonic espresso, tiramisu latte and the Misugaru latte along with a chocolate cream scone. The drinks were good except for the Misugaru which was a little off with the thick rich full flavor I'm used to but it was still good. The service was good in a sense but I'll just leave it at that. Amazing drinks as always! One of my favorite places to get coffee when I'm in the Irvine area. By far the best banana latte I've ever had, I love the touch they add with the plantain over top as decoration. The ambiance is top tier too, great place for catching up on some work/studying. Even after I showed them the proof of payment, they shifted the blame onto me just because I used their kiosk. I love checking out Irvine's newest coffee shops, and I can already see myself coming to the Mugs pretty often. I ordered the Blueberry Matcha, and I definitely recommend getting it less sweet (even then I still thought it was a bit sweet for my preference). I wish the Tiramisu Latte wasn't just a seasonal drink, the cream was rich and the drink surprisingly did taste pretty similar to the actual tiramisu dessert. We also got the matcha croffle, which is a plain croffle that comes with a generous amount of matcha cream. It was flaky, chewy, and I love that they didn't skimp out on the cream topping. Cute and spacious hole in a wall coffee shop with good drinks. They have lots of outlets do perfect for studying. The Mugs is located in Northwood near Zion. Interior is modern and quiet, they have lots of tables and bar seating to eat, sip of coffee, and/or read book/study. Love this new cafe! I was searching on Yelp for any new cafes that recently opened up in the Irvine area and came across this gem. We placed our orders using the self order touch screen and our drinks were ready within 5-10 minutes. I got the strawberry matcha which was very creamy but also refreshing. I love how they use real strawberries for the syrup. My friend enjoyed her matcha foam coffee as well and we both agreed to come back next time to get some work done. This location is in the Zion market shopping center, with plenty of parking. There's a restroom in the back, indoor seating that includes a quiet room and outdoor seating as well. When we walked in, majority of the tables and seats were occupied by solos with laptops. So if you come with a large party like we did, seating can be a challenge. I visited for the first time on a Sunday afternoon. I walked in and ordered on the kiosk. I ordered a tiramisu latte and a nutella muffin. They were both really good and the muffin came out warm. The staff was nice when I asked about if my drink came iced already because I wasn't sure as I ordered on the kiosk. It seems like they have a lot of indoor seating, but I didn't check the back room because it already seemed a little crowded. My items didn't take long to come out and I decided to sit outside. There were 9 tables outside and bench seating as well. Nicely crafted drinks, but you might find it hard to find a table to sit and enjoy your drink. Also, do not choose any "less ice" or "less sweet" options; they will not fill your drink to the top for less ice, and they will really cut down on the flavoring agent for less sweet. I've been here about 3 times now. They have interesting flavors, like Dalgona (Korean sugar candy), Blueberry Matcha, Strawberry Matcha, and Honey Lavender. They also have the staples, of course, like lattes and caramel macchiato. They use house-made fruit compote to flavor their drinks. But with "less sweet," you're going to get an amount so small that you'll barely taste it. The Blueberry Matcha can be a bit overwhelming for some, with the amount of blueberry peel coming through the straw. I didn't mind (yay, fiber), but my drink required chewing. The inside tables are mostly occupied by people who are studying. So get it to-go, or sit outside on their rather uncomfortable metal chairs. Drinks were okay--not great. The Banana Caramel Latte has a very artificial banana taste. I was expecting a more muted banana flavor, like of typical boxed banana milk, but it was more akin to the banana hard candy from vending machines. The caramel is nice and adds a good amount of sweetness to the drink. The Strawberry Euphoria consisted of jasmine tea, milk of your choice, and strawberry purée. They steep the tea when they make your drink, so it takes a few minutes to be done. Our two drinks took a while to be made, but that could just be because the business is super new--only 2 weeks old as of Nov 4, according to the staff. I would give the drinks 2.5-3 stars (again, could be because they're new and still working things out), but they get an overall 4 stars from me for the lovely space. There are plenty of outdoor and indoor tables for studying, chatting, etc. The shop is large and has a bunch of natural lighting, so it's ideal for sitting and getting work done. read more

Wow, people in Irvine are QUICK to find the new spots, because when I came by here this Thursday afternoon, it was completely packed. I'm sure this place will be really busy during the weekends. This might be my new go-to study spot, because it checks off all my boxes so far: long hours (closes at 10pm on weekdays), free wifi, abundant wall outlets, plentiful seating, and easy parking. They have pretty interesting stuff on the food menu too. I ordered from the self serve kiosk, but it's quite slow upon checkout. I tried the Dalgona Iced, and it comes with those honeycomb toppings. It was at the perfect sweetness, and I'd reorder it again. I also tried the black sesame croffle ($8.31 after tax). It was pretty small for the price, and I didn't really taste the black sesame in the cream. It turns out it's black sesame cream cheese topping, so expect the cream to be a little sour? Sriracha chicken croffle was pretty good but it ended up leaving a very weird, long lasting, minty taste in your mouth that felt like I rinsed my mouth w/ mouth wash, which really threw me off guard. I also never got a text or notification for the order i placed & it had been 20 mins past the time it should've been ready. It's a pretty good spot to study--it's lively, not super loud, has outlets, a lot of tables although it was pretty filled. The WiFi doesn't really work prob bc of the busyness. Bathroom was quite dirty. Staff was friendly. But honestly my biggest concern & smth that left me extremely bothered was the smell that stuck on my clothes and my bag after studying in there for a few hours; smells like you went to a kbbq, except I went to a get work done. I got it with low sweetness and oat milk as the dairy substitute. Absolutely recommend it! My SIL ordered the banana matcha with no adjustments and she enjoyed it as well. We kinda drank it so fast we didn't get pictures. The only thing that I remember not being a fan off was the bathroom situation. It's a quaint place so there's only one bathroom and they ran out of toilet paper quickly . Other than that fixable issue, it's a study spot haven. The staff are warm and inviting. There is self service table to place order or you can order with the staff, usually the food and drink comes out within 10 minutes of ordering.
