This is the coffee bar! The place was packed! Literally a roped off line in front. Once inside people are chatting, laughing, eating, drinking, awesome vibe! The employees are all friendly and cool. I asked the barista for her favorite drink and breakfast item, she ordered me a guacamole everything bagel and an iced chocolate malt latte float, 5 shots of espresso in that thing, Amazing! I was with a bunch of people and everyone got a drink and everyone loved it. We had an awesome time in Newport and The Nitro Bar played a part in that.

I've never seen so many Gen Zers at any one spot at one time. Seems to have a line that reaches outside but it moves relatively fast. Everything did taste high quality and the menu it's unique and interesting. Everything on the menu is also pricey. If you're not in a rush, it's cool place to try and get a drink with flavors you probably never had before. Is it worth all the type it gets, Im not sure of that.

The pesto bagel was great, hearty portion, and the pesto cream cheese was absolutely fantastic. Their spicy sun-dried tomato cream cheese is also fantastic and the perfect amount of spice. Their coffees are great and staff is friendly, lots of fun and seasonal options, next time would try it less sweet. The whip top is a must try!

The biggest question is "is it worth the line" and honestly yeah. We waited maybe 30 mins (I wouldn't wait any longer than that). The staff was all nice. They accept Apple Pay. Merch is way too expensive (not worth it). They gave me whip on my latte when I didn't ask for it, so it was WAY too sweet for me and so I didn't finish it, but if they hadn't put any whip on it, it would have been perfect (I also asked for it half sweet). Now the breakfast sandwich was awesome. The perfect amount of arugula so it wasn't over powering and they put the aiolis on the side so you could just put as much as you wanted on it. Would 100% recommend. I would also recommend the lattes but just know if you get a whip or malt it's going to taste like ice cream

Do not show up on a Saturday around 10 AM or you will wait over an hour for coffee. The coffee was very good, I am not going to lie, but that was quite the wait! They have coffees with this icing type of topper, very tasty but very sweet. If you're with a bach party - this is the spot because we saw about 5 groups of them LOL. Def a spot to stop at if you have time and want a Newport RI trendy coffee moment. There is indoor and outdoor seating, but it is very limited. They also have pastries and what looked like open face bagel sandwiches which looked yummy but we did not try.

The Nitro Bar is hyped up for the right reasons. I went early Saturday morning when they opened and there was already a line. I ordered a cookie butter latte and a pizza bagel. The cookie butter whip with the cookie crumbles is as delicious as it looks. Inside the cafe, they have sweatshirts, mugs, and bags. They also had a good amount of tables but I can definitely see it being tight when it is peak times. Note that they don't have much parking so walking is your best bet.

Nitro Bar is a Newport staple and is definitely worth the hype. I ordered a cookie butter latte which comes with cookie butter whip and cookie crumbles. The coffee was a perfect color and comes mixed already. The Nitro Bar merch inside is so cute and they have coffee mugs and canvas bags. I highly recommend adding Nitro Bar to your Newport plans. Go early because they get busy!!

Am I in a small town coffee shop or watching the line to ride steel vengeance on Memorial Day weekend? I sat remorsefully reading a book with an empty cortado glass wondering how many patrons were glaring at me for not giving up the seat (and probably soaking up what little oxygen remained inside needlessly). I sat in a traffic jam (inside the shop) planning my exiting path through the throng of people waiting to order for several minutes. The coffee is fantastic. My cortado two Sundays in a row has been consistently flavorful, punchy, and delightful. The banana bread was delicious. The staff however seem overwhelmed and it shows JB the service. "Can I have the bread warmed?" "We can't do that." "Thank you for the coffee and food." "Your cup and plates go over there." Highly recommend the coffee and food. Just don't expect to enjoy it on site. Postscript If you're looking to start a coffee shop, across the street from here would be a perfect venue to siphon off the customers waiting in 10 degree weather just enter the store.

Coffee was delicious and made fresh! My friend got a matcha raspberry latte, she felt it needed more raspberry and one of the staff easily accommodated that request. The line was long and we were told by customers leaving it would be over an hour. It wasn't true, took less than 30 minutes. Glad we waited! It was busy, decent amount of seats and we were able to get a nice spot to sit. Ambiance was lively.

Nitro Bar is one of those places that just feels good to walk into. It is bright, clean, and has a really welcoming vibe. The staff is incredibly friendly and makes everyone feel at home. You can tell they value inclusivity and create a space where all kinds of people feel comfortable and seen. Even when it is busy (which it often is), they stay courteous and upbeat. It is clear they care about the experience just as much as the coffee. The menu has a great variety of coffee and tea drinks. The nitro cold brew is a must try, super smooth and refreshing. The lavender honey latte is also a favorite, and if you are into matcha, theirs is fantastic. They also have some great pastries. The croissants and banana bread are especially good. Go early if you can since it fills up fast. But whether you are grabbing a quick drink or hanging out for a bit, it is a lovely stop in Newport.

The Nitro Bar has really blown up over the past year! I still love the quality of their drinks, their space, their service and their love of what they do and who they serve. That is what makes them so loved by the community. Just be ware: the prices are rather expensive even for Newport. While the peppermint mocha whip was amazing, it was $11 after tax. Add in a tip and damn! It's def a spot for a once in a while treat. I count afford an $80 a week coffee bill. Def check it out!

Nitro Bar's iced seasonal matchas are such a summer staple for me. However, I have a few hopes for The Nitro Bar. My first hope is that the ordering process could be improved. The place is so popular, but the wait is just too long in the hot summer sun. It would be great if they could create a pre-ordering system or perhaps a bigger storefront to churn out their food and drink orders. Also, when you are finally able to get your drinks and food, there also isn't enough seating inside and there are only two tables outside. Having said all that, this place is really amazing. It's staffed very well in that multiple people are taking orders, making drinks behind the bar, and making food in the kitchen. I've never seen that kind of staffing in a coffee shop, and applaud the owner(s) for making sure there is enough personnel working! As for drinks, I loved their caramelized banana matcha but their caramelized banana latte is superb to all lattes I've ever had. For food, the pizza bagel is famous but a tad too salty for me. Their matcha cookie and vegan tahini chocolate chip cookie are great to munch on, and are big and chewy. I know some people love a thin crispy cookie, but I prefer a chewiness to my cookies. I've also tried their pesto mozz tomato toast and that was surprisingly yummy - for $11.50, the portion size could be bigger, but it's wonderfully done.

We originally tried to come here around 10-11 AM but quickly turned around after seeing the line. Since the Thames Street location looked even more packed, we decided to give it another shot the next day. Came back around 1:30 PM (in the middle of some heavy rain), and we were luckily able to order right away before a line started growing behind us. I tried one of their seasonal lattes, which was sweet but tasted a bit watered down. I wasn't super impressed with the coffee compared to the hype. Tip: Finding a parking spot wasn't easy so keep that in mind if you're on a tight schedule.

Grabbed breakfast to go and it was great!! I had a small hot mocha latte and it was excellent!! You can tell it's fresh and high quality coffee. The breakfast sandwiches were great too! I had the pesto smash and my husband had the bacon, egg, and cheese. The sourdough really elevated the pest smash sandwich and was delicious. All ingredients tasted fresh and the sandwiches were quite filling. I will definitely be back. read more

I'm pissed. I drove hours for some damn overpriced coffee. I got a caramelized banana latte a blueberry latte.. a Matcha. And some other shit tasting coffee. All these are too sweet. The owner obviously is lying when she says how good the coffee is because I was so easily influenced. Never coming here again. read more

The drinks and food were great at both spots, but the experience was totally different. The Pond Ave staff was friendly, respectful, and helpful--it made everything better. The Thames Street staff, on the other hand, seemed annoyed, especially when people were taking photos or videos. If you work at a viral coffee shop, that kind of attention should be expected. read more

Upon searching for restaurants in the area during our trip to Newport, I was completely drawn in by pictures of their avocado toast on yelp/google. Never you mind that our bed and breakfast came with... well... breakfast... I dragged my mom here with me so I could get some instagram worthy millennial toast. We arrived on a weekday morning around 9am and they were so completely busy which I actually find to be a good sign. I got my avocado toast and an iced coffee and was in small coffee shop heaven. I would absolutely recommend coming here to anyone visiting in the area. Despite being busy the wait wasn't all that long and don't get me wrong I love Starbucks but this is way, way better :-) read more

Came in and ordered a matcha latte with oat milk: 6.75 pricy and unpleasantly bitter (and I've had other matcha before) but latte consistency was very nice the restaurant's decor is great and they have great-looking sweet and savory food at both locations. This location donates leftovers to an organization while their other location uses the app 'Too Good to Go' to tackle theirs. The app seems like a great deal and I would consider using it to try out their sweets. read more

Went with friends on Wednesday about 4:30 only to order two coffees and the girl behind the counter was very rude and inattentive . The coffees we ordered were not what we ordered and once our order was complete she just left it on the counter without telling us. Lastly, She started cleaning tables and as we were the only ones there. Horrible customer service! read more

I'd got up early to run a marathon and missed my morning latte, not something I'm ever real keen on. So it wasn't until late in the afternoon that I'd made it in to Nitro Bar for my first latte of the day, the yummiest dirty chai oat milk latte. I'm glad they're open until 6p on a Sunday. The space is the cutest! Love the decor, florals, bathroom, bar, etc. Adorable coffee shop with fast friendly service. My friend had a regular latte and we shared a cowboy cookie which was yummy since I hadn't eaten anything for hours and was livin' on Gatorade, water and cheese its on a marathon course. My friend said my cowboy cookies are much better, well ummm duh that's just a given but these weren't bad by any stretch of the imagination. I'd bet I'd be accurate in stating, best coffee shop in Newport. read more

I actively seek out local coffee shops when I travel, so I was excited to find The Nitro Bar. It's a very pretty space, mid-century modern in decor. There is no large menu board, keeping the look very clean. I ordered a regular coffee and the hummus toast. As I was paying, the power went out. They offered me a free cup of coffee and said they were closing. As she was pouring my coffee, the power came back. I was able to stay, but they struggled getting the POS system running again. It took four transactions to pay for my breakfast. As for breakfast, the coffee was wonderful. I would definitely go back for another cup, however I'd skip the hummus toast. I think the bread they used was quality, but the overall flavor was bland and the texture with the hummus was gritty. Overall, order the coffee and try a different food option. read more

I used to have a hard time when people would ask me "What is your favorite coffee shop?" I felt like I never gave a consistent answer, until I discovered this gem. The nitro bar has quickly become my favorite coffee shop. Both Newport locations are so cute inside & the coffee and food is equally as good. I am OBSESSED with the chocolate bar iced nitro. Their vegan breakfast wrap is my favorite item on the menu, but their avocado toast is another staple. Their matcha is made to perfection and nitro crafted impeccably. Nitro coffee can be a hit or miss, but ALWAYS a hit here. I have lived in Providence & never got to try that location until recently (also very good!) and since relocating to Newport I have become a regular. I discovered this place on TikTok because the owner has an account where she posts a lot about the shop. I love coming to small businesses, especially those that are owned by women. It's very refreshing to see people in my generation gain success and notoriety like she has with this business. 11/10 recommend coming here for coffee and food. Any of their locations are worth stopping in! read more

Nice little spot to enjoy a morning coffee. Seems like a place locals hit up, at least earlier in the day as well, which definitely is indicative of good coffee. I ordered a latte, iced dirty chai and a breakfast sandwich of sausage, egg and cheese on a English muffin. The coffee arrived quickly and was satisfying, both the hot latte and iced chai were as described. The breakfast sandwich was fine, although it isn't anything amazing, and tastes more like the ingredients were microwaved and then assembled. In the future I might avoid the food and just stick with coffee. read more

Was excited to go to The Nitro Bar but overall experience was disappointing. We ordered online for pick up a cinnamon sugar latte, a dirty chia, and a bacon egg and cheese sandwich. The cinnamon latte was great. They were out of chia so offered a refund or to make another drink. We got the watermelon lemonade instead, but in retrospective we should have gotten a drink of equal value to the $8.75 dirty chia. Then the breakfast sandwich was just about the sadist thing I've ever seen. While it came out super hot it did not seem fresh. It was super dry and crunchy. I recommend skipping food and ordering in person instead of online to make sure you get what you want. read more

Wow! I came here on a recommendation from my co-worker and this place is amazing! We dropped by on a Sunday afternoon and the bar wasn't too busy with a couple of customers scattered about. The atmosphere was nice and I particularly liked the the lighting and decor. The barista was informative and friendly; she gave us a couple recommendations on which coffees she liked and which we should try. We had the Dirty Wafer and my girlfriend loved it!!! Rich and decadent the Dirty Wafer had just the right amount of sweetness and chocolate without it being overwhelming. Prices are standard of the a drink. Not the cheapest around but definitely worth the extra $$. Overall, I really enjoy my experience at The Nitro Bar and would recommend it to anyone looking for a quality cup of Joe! read more

As a huge fan of the OG Providence location, I was elated to find out my favorite coffee shop would be a less than ten minute drive from my work. It didn't disappoint! Street parking was easy to find today (but may prove challenging in the coming summer months). The good news is parking is free in this area. Walking in the tables were filled with young and old, decor is hip and refreshing. At first I feel like I'm not cool enough to be here, but the friendly staff quickly makes you feel like you belong. Menus can be found on clipboards by the register for food and drinks, prices are high/on par with the neighborhood and quality of product. Be sure to ask for a loyalty card, get 8 stamps-- free nitro! Love the see through glass into where the food is prepped, the avocado toast looked so fresh today! Looking forward to many more visits here! read more

The system was down today. The team couldn't manage the transactions. Unfortunately I hoping to try multiple coffees and the service went left. I would go to another boutique coffee shop. Tables have only 1/2 hour limit. They have a a clean coffee shop. That's the only positive. I'm out of town, so I can't come back and wouldn't recommend. Also not very diverse. read more

They say they have the best chai tea latte around so I had to give it a try - and it might just be the best chai tea latte around! It was perfect. I order a hot chocolate for my toddler every time and they just know to make it slightly less hot for her, which just warms my momma heart and keeps me coming back. I also love their COVID procedures. They used to have pickups right at the door so there was no need to step inside (loved that) but with the cold winter weather, they moved inside, following all the COVID guidelines. But you can still order online and they have a separate table right by the door as you step in. All the orders and labeled and ready to be picked up. Super easy and felt super safe. read more

I visit Providence often and I discovered this on Yelp. I went on a Sunday early afternoon. I ordered first online at their site. I put it through and I got a pick up time of 3:50 pm. I was confused so I called in to adjust the pick up time. The first time they couldn't find the ticket. I called again once I figured it out on my side. The guy again told me if you come in we'll just make it. Okay. So I drove over and when I came in there was a WALL of folks waiting for their orders. I heard him tell someone before me there was a 15 minute wait for food. It has an overwhelming grunge hipster vibe if your into that. There is not really much seating so folks are lined up on a wall. It's a small place that was swamped. I show the guy the order for which I paid and he says, "our online ordering isn't accepting orders until later", "we'll get to it as soon as we can..." For real. If they had told me this on the phone I would have simply ordered from somewhere else. Order ahead is for quick pick up, right. There were so many people I decided to take a walk while I waited. I actually sat down at a teahouse up the street for a few minutes. I returned to the spot 20 minutes later and my order was on the to go shelf but one drink was missing so I waded through the folks waiting for their order and told the barista. She said that someone must have stolen it. So she whipped me up about another. Would I go back? Nope. How was the coffee? ok. read more

I am a Seattle coffee snob. The coffee I drank there was mellow, rich, & sweet with no bite. East coast coffee is almost without exception acidic & bright. Nitro Bar is the exception. Phenomenal, smooth espresso. read more

YUM! I was looking for a coffee spot to stop by before heading back to Boston and my boy friend found this place - I got the maple sea salt iced latte and it was delicious. The service was great and the coffee shop was nice, clean, and comfy. I'll definitely be back next time I am in Rhode Island. read more

The nitro bar has cute hipster vibes. Minimalist decor and lots of plants. They have a variety of locally sourced ingredients, but due to the nature of their ingredients the prices are pretty hefty. My have coffee half horchata was about 7.50 and although it was a large it compared to other coffee shops mediums. I had to wait about 10 minutes to get my bagel- there was one woman working the kitchen side but it looks like their artisan toast takes a bit of prep. If you're looking to do good by your local businesses, get tasty food, take your time, and take Instagram worthy pics, this is the place for you!! But if you're more into food that's quick and is more affordable then I would cross this place off of your list. read more

I rarely give 1 star reviews, but I truly don't think this place deserves more than that. I came to Rhode Island for a short weekend and was excited to come here after seeing the menu. The line was long when we got there, but we assumed it would move fast (which it didn't). We wanted to order something quick to take on the go because we were golfing right after, but they were out of all their pasties except chocolate chip cookies. I got an iced matcha with honey instead, but it was extremely bitter so I didn't even finish it. The drinks came out within a few minutes, but the food took SO long. We waited 30 minutes for a bagel with butter, which is absolutely insane. I understand that it was busy and there was a wait for food, but I don't know why they couldn't just throw a bagel in a bag. Plus, if there is such a long wait, then they should've let us know prior to ordering because we would've gone somewhere else instead. When we asked the server about our order, she gave us an attitude. We ended up spending almost an hour here in total. Not only did we get to the golf course much later than we had planned, but we were also so hungry for hours because we didn't really get to eat. Absolute waste of time and money. read more

Literally was so excited to try nitro but upon being called to get my drink the server whose name started with a T and ended with lyean or whatever rando flavorless name proceeded to demean me by saying I wasn't the name she called, I literally was and she proceeded to hand me my order after the most condescending interaction ever. Have genuinely never left a yelp review but I fear if you're gonna be a barista maybe you shouldn't be a a straight up bigot! read more

Let's start with the Latte. It actually had the best taste of any pulled shot I've had in the area but the milk was cold. This is surprising because I think they made it for me right before I picked it up. Zero Latte art, and it was over steamed. The breakfast sandwich was very small. Taste was pretty good but they use the thin cut bacon and if you want a better sandwich go to Mission. The real kicker for me was the wait. My ticket said be there at 11:15. I showed up at 11:30 and had to wait an additional 15 minutes for my food and coffee. This may be a great spot to go on a date and just hang out outside while you wait for your order but it should be advertised as such. Don't know how much of this experience is related to Covid but I don't think I will be coming back until things get back to normal. read more

When I say I Nitro has the best breakfast sandwich I've ever eaten in my life, I am in no way exaggerating. That thing was so freaking good. We were staying at a rental on this street and walked over to Nitro every morning. Online ordering was super easy and everyone was super friendly. The sandwich that I dream of is their breakfast sandwich which has-- a local soft-boiled egg, cheddar cheese, Nduja (a spicy house-made salami spread), local microgreens, served on toasted sourdough bread. Seriously, order it! I also really loved their housemade nitro chai. Delicious! If this spot was close to me I'd have a really hard time not visiting like everyday. Parking wise the street usually had plenty of spots in the morning, so I don't think it would be too much of an issue to find a spot. They also have a few bistro tables out front that seemed to fill up quickly. read more

On our first trip we got the iced honey bee and iced matcha. The honey bee was delightful and sweet but not too sweet. While the matcha was probably some of the best matcha I've had. We came back the next day and ordered 3 of the matchas. It is veteran owned and they offer military discount. I'm a little sad there isn't a location close to me because it would easily be my to go coffee shop.
