Deck and vibe gets 5 stars but the food is just so so. My $19 southwest chicken salad wasn't nearly as fresh and crisp as expected - gotta admit I get a better one at Cafe Rio. The onion rings however where spot on. Doggies allowed on the deck and patio, brunch on the weekends, live music on occasion is enough to get me to stop on the way back from the Uintas. The staff is super friendly but they needed nudging to remember water.

    The GOAT plus onion rings.

At the risk of sounding like everyone else (eg "I've driven by a hundred times, finally decided to stop in, wish I had tried it years ago, and so on") I have to report that, um... I have driven by at least a hundred times and finally decided to stop in on a solo trip the other day. Make no mistake, this is a roadhouse pub. The stickers all over the door, the fact that you walk right into the pool table section, and the roadhouse vibe of the decor and several tables along with the big bar. It's not fancy, it's also not decorated to intentionally look like a roadhouse that's not fancy. It's just exactly what it is. It was a lovely summer day so I sat outside. They have a back patio and I did notice that they have a brand new rooftop/deck. The server told me that they only open the deck on the weekends, usually Thursday thru Sunday, when they have enough demand for it. I got the GOAT burger with onion rings. At $19 for the burger and $2 charge for the rings, they're not exactly giving it away. But you're in beef country up here in Kamas (Samak, technically) where the cattle roam up the highway, so you cannot show up with Sysco patties. Nope, these re real beef, really hand-formed, and really fresh. The beef really sings and speaks for itself, but the addition of fresh cut chiles and smooth goat cheese was a really unexpected pleasure. The onion rings were crispy and it all disappeared in a post-hike haze. The service was super friendly. I was a little worried all this time that it was a locals-only type watering hole but they were plenty welcoming to me. I can't say how the drinks or bartender were since that's not my scene, but everything was super quick and hospitable, though I was there at a very not busy in between meals time. It may be that this place sits between two worlds of tourists and locals. I don't think the local scene can support this, as the surrounding population is sparse. It's certainly not going to buy that new deck. But it's also not some tourist trap. It sits in the middle; the food is too good (and priced) for a larger audience, but the day to day probably sees plenty of locals as well as MLH drivers popping in.

THE NEW ROOFTOP! We had already planned on stopping here after a hike in the Uintas and when we drove by we noticed their brand new rooftop! The rooftop is open until 9, and closes when their kitchen closes. It's such a good vibe, service was great - would highly recommend trying to sit on the rooftop when you visit! It just opened Memorial Day weekend. I got their garden burger and it was really yummy. It wasn't a beyond meat or impossible burger - it was made with veggies and was delicious! Fries are $2 extra and they were good. It's a little on the pricey side, I believe my burger and fries came out to $20? They have sun shades up to block the sun, and went it went down it was the perfect temp. Can't wait to stop by again after visiting the Uintas!

Caylan and Austin were great. Vibe is super cool and the pricing isn't bad. If you're looking for a great spot to eat in Kamas, give them a shot.

I love The Notch after a long hike in the Uintas. The food is delicious - the Mac and cheese is a must! Their options of burgers are so good and then smoke them there at the restaurant. There's a large back patio, indoor seats, bar seating, and a like screen in patio area. They also have pool tables as well. Service is great - friendly and funny.

Nice cozy, country, casual restaurant off the beaten path in Kamas with different burgers, smoked wings and ribs n stuff. Good service.

Excellent!! Great stop!! Nice and a usual. We sat outside (memorial day weekend) - We were touring Kamas and local area. Some local friends have told us to stop there for the wings -- and they were great...we got Thai and barbecue style as well as the queso cheese (it was devine) with homemade chips!! We ordered 2 vegetable quesadillas... which were all hot and fresh. We also got several kito amber beers. There was a new server name Tarra, she was awesome and very attentive. We all commented on how important a good server is and she was great!! I begged to take a picture of her so we could memorialize our visit and thank her for being so great!

What a fun off the road place...definitely a pub, but I was pleasantly surprise at how good everything was. And service was good too, thanks Carson! Their chicken caesar wrap was really good and so was their cross cut sweet potato fries. Hubby had the burger with coleslaw and said it was good to. Looking forward to coming back, especially when they have live music as well as for the games!

We sat on the patio with our two toddlers and dog. There were a lot of flies and it was a bit hot but we wanted to be outside so that is on us! The flowers surrounding the restaurant are so pretty. I can't remember the exact name but it had sprouts and avocado in addition to the BLT part. I put some fry sauce on it and it was delish! The sweet potato fries were great too. My husband said they were better than the regular ones he ordered. He got a burger and he said it was average (not bad, not mind blowing). My 3 year old enjoyed a plate of 3 small pancakes and bacon. He said it was "really good"! We visit Kamas a lot for our camping adventures, and we will definitely be back! It was slightly more pricey than average; we paid $55 for two entrees, a kids meal, and an iced tea (with a tip). Not crazy expensive but a little more than comparable diners (e.g. Blackbear Diner).

This location is new and there are a couple small things that really just hit me the wrong way. First, the drive through. This is a new location and there is a drive through on the side. It is not easily accessible for a few reasons. You have to drive behind the whole building to get to it (this is a strip mall type location) and the turn in to the drive through is so tight I doubt you can get anything larger than a small car through it comfortably. A truck with Quad cab and short bed (mine) took several attempts to get around the corner. And by the black marks all over the curbing, I am not the only one with the issue. I 100% don't mind going IN to a restaurant but if you offer a drive through it should be useful. Second, the tipping. WHY would you ever ask someone to tip BEFORE you serve them? I hand over my debit card, clerk hands me the machine: "insert your card and you can then select your tip." Um, no. I'm not tipping at a fast food restaurant and surely not before I receive and food/service. Food was typical. Good and as expected.

Someone had placed an order of several hundred sandwiches. But what surprised me the most was how great the workers were. Most of them said hello to me as they carried boxes upon boxes to the ladies' truck. One person stood back and came and helped me immediately. He was very kind and fulfilled my order perfectly. Honestly this post if mostly about their amazing quality of service. The food was good and filling but as always not the greatest quality like some of my other favorite sandwich shops.

It's at the base of UT-150, better known as the Mirror Lake Highway, and it's just what you need when you're headed out for an adventure. I've talked about their connection to the highway before (summary: you can buy a $45 annual pass at their service counter) but I need to give them another shoutout. Over the last five years since my second review, I've been in countless times for pre-camp or pre-hike supplies. You know--the things you forget, or the junky things you get just because. I've stopped here for dinner a few times, but if you get there later than about 4pm, the selection of pre-made sandwiches, deli items, etc is pretty slim. And, to be honest, that's one area where I think they can improve. Not just the selection, but the care and quality that goes into those things. I mean, if I had my druthers, I'd stop at a local restaurant for food, but since I often come through town after dinner time on a Friday night after finishing work for the week, I want to get something quick! The magic is also with the gas station in that regard. I almost always fuel up here, even if I already have a nearly full tank. When I head up and out for 4WD adventures, the last thing I want is to have to turn back because of fuel worries. That little gas station just keeps on providing great drinks and a quick fuel. Add that to a grocery store that can help you grab things you may have forgotten (marshmallows!) and you've got a 1-2 punch that preps you for adventure.

The restaurant is further Park City and Kamas than I expected even having checked on the map before driving, just FYI for those thinking this is near PC. BUT as a local Parkite, I did see people I know also dining there for their Sunday Brunch. We had made a reservation, but I guess if you only do it 1 day in advance it's not on the paper they print out, so they weren't prepared for us. And I don't know if they were shorthanded at 4 staff members on the floor (1 was the owner, 2 were waitresses, 1 was a busser), but we waited about 15 minutes to be seated. Despite this, they were all very kind and had good costumer service, just slow. Woodland Biscuit Company is a very small restaurant. During the good weather months they have outdoor seating too, which helps to accommodate more parties. But this is not the place to bring large groups. Of course you come for the biscuits. They offer "first come, first serve" cinnamon roll biscuits but as we were in the late brunch crowd, they were sold out. So we settled on The Messy to split but my son didn't like the granola on top BUT that also didn't stop him from shoving a 1/4 biscuit in his mouth at a time. Once the food came out, two entrees show up, missing two others, then one more came out, still missing mine! I was the last to get my dish. Ugh. We ordered mini biscuits (biscuit cinnamon rolls sold out-bummer), and the beets with yogurt sauce and mini biscuits. The beet dish was not as described on the menu! It was a tostada scrambled egg beet thing, and was just okay. The mini biscuits are delicious, light fluffy, and the jam is divine. The dishes we ordered: Breakfast plate with eggs, bacon and potatoes. They are very skimpy on the potatoes, enough for a toddler, but definitely not an adult. Croque Madam, this was very good. The sauce was excellent, and the biscuit is perfect, but again, very small portion. Biscuit and gravy- amazing sauce, delicious, but any farmer would leave hungry. I got the smoked salmon omelette, small portion, very little salmon, tiny scoop of potatoes. Good flavor, but for the price and the amount of food you get, I'm not sure we will ever come back. I definitely don't recommend going out of your way to come here, because you may be very disappointed like we were. If the wait was quicker, portions were bigger or it was priced better, we would consider coming back. I'm sure they don't need more business so they probably don't mind a less than ideal review.
